This restaurant is nice for a get together with friends. Be prepared to either walk away hungry or pay top dollar. Portions are meant to be small, but at 13 bucks per item, you may end up paying a lot more o feel satisfied. Ambiance is a plus. Get a booth and you can carry on a conversation quite easily. Our waiter had a bit of an attitude and it really came out when he served the wrong dish to me. I ordered the street tacos and got a hot dog instead. My table mates all knew that I ordered tacos and yet when I mentioned it to the waiter, his response was, "No, you didn't". We were quite shocked by his insistence that I was in the wrong. My best friend and I met there before the John Mellencamp concert this past weekend. It's the third time I've visited and I have never been disappointed. Their Happy Hour is GREAT. We split the shrimp and grits appetizer and I have been thinking about it for four days...longing. (They should include four shrimp instead of three though so we don't end up fighting over it...) There are probably three sticks of butter in that bowl of grits but they were amazing and the jumbo shrimp were perfectly seasoned and grilled. Plus, it's really a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful hotel. AND they served my single malt scotch "on the rock" with an ice ball instead of "on the rocks" with ice cubes. Not every establishment does that, but they should. I will be back to this gem! read more

I went there for valentines dinner and was very pleased with the food. Everything tasted excellent. The cost was a bit higher for the portions, but the flavors made up for that. Service was good. My only problem with the place is that they cannot make a good mix drink. We ordered a vodka tonic and daiqueri, both drinks were incredibly strong. Also they do not seem to know what goes in a daiqueri. This is the biggest reason why its 3 stars. Would recommend the food and wine list. read more

Waited 10 minutes to be seated when the restaurant was mostly empty. Waited 5 more minutes for menus. Food was mediocre and they were out of what we wanted to order. This restaurant is in the new Grand Hotel in downtown Spokane. It has it's own entrance on the west side of the hotel. My wife & I ate there last night. I was a little hesitant; as hotel restaurants aren't always up to the hype. But we were pleasantly surprised; as the food was top notch. The menu is all appetizer sized dishes, and my recommendation is to order two dishes per person. That was plenty for us - if you're still hungry, you can always order another dish. We had tacos, coconut shrimp, beef tenderloin in heavenly red wine sauce, and prime rib sliders. The coconut shrimp was some of the best I've had; as the coconut frosting was light, instead of something heavy like a chicken fried steak. Our order included focaccia bread with oil & vinegar at no extra cost. Even the bread was great; buttery, smooth texture without being too heavy. They have an extensive wine list. I had a Sapphire & Tonic to start, and that was well made. After all that was done, I ordered a chocolate mousse for dessert - I recall the name of it was "Rolos" something. The mousse was covered in a layer of thin hard chocolate and the entire mound had been drizzled with a couple sweet sauces, one of which was caramel. That was just unbelievably wonderful. I'm here for my daughters volleyball tournament and we are staying at the Marriott Grand Davenport in downtown Spokane. While searching for some places to eat, the concierges at The Davenport recommended The Onion which was a local establishment located two blocks up the street and Table 13. We decided to eat lunch at the The Onion which was also a good place for some good local grinds. However, We wanted to savor our appetite for dinner at Table 13 which is in downstairs in the lobby at the Davenport. We were greeted with a warm welcome by our waiter who's name was John Davenport. I told him We just flew in from the Bay Area on Alaskan Airlines and I wanted a local IPA. He brought me several small samples of the stouts and the local beers which they had on tap; None of the samples was feeling my tastebuds but John did recommend the Huckleberry Mule, Da Bomb! Every menu item which John our waiter suggested came out piping hot, grilled and cooked to perfection. We ordered the grilled King Salmon ( grilled medium well), smoked beef brisket tacks ( da bomb). My daughter and I shared a Cesar salad as an appetizer and she ended up getting the spicy crunch tuna roll for her dinner which has different kick and taste from most sushi restaurants. If your ever in the Spokane area, especially for all you thousands of Volleyball parents that convene for three days at the convention center, take a break and grab a bite at Table 13 and ask for John Davenport. This was our second visit to Table 13 and I am so disappointed. I am still upset about our experience. We went for restaurant week on a Thursday at 5pm. Our simple dinner took over 2 hours and it wasn't because we were enjoying the experience. We sat there waiting and felt forgotten. They were immensely understaffed. We were served a round of drinks then never offered refills. Our dirty plates kept stacking up on the table - never to be taken away. The food was totally mediocre. Nothing special at all. The soup was lukewarm. The steak was dry. It just wasn't good. And to top it off we found THREE hairs in various plates. It was disgusting. We notified our waitress and got an apology but no offer for a second meal or compensation. Will NEVER return. read more

This restaurant is in the lobby of the Davenport Grand Hotel. This is a wonderful & easy option if you are staying here. It's delicious & nice to have tasty food after traveling. Walking into the restaurant, it feels upscale, but not too dressy. You can dress up or down. I noticed that there were chopsticks on the table, which surprised me because it's marketed as a whiskey bar. The menu is diverse & everything looked delicious. I ordered the spicy tuna crunch roll. YUM!!! It was amazing. My friend ordered the brisket salad. Also delicious. This is a great spot for dinner or drinks! Will mostly likely eat her again before the conference is over! read more

Went walking by Table 13 last weekend on our way to a bar. The name, look and just the fact it's new was interesting enough to bring family back last night. Walking in it was nice. We were a little confused there was one girl doing both the seating and hosting. One person in the front of house for a seemingly nice place is not expected. Missed opportunities there for sure. After that, we were seated and we treated quite nice. Drink orders were taken in a timely manner and when the drinks were brought he was prepared to take food orders. I'll say it's a great concept. Nothing over $13 and everything sounded very good. Food wasn't out of the world great but, it was very good and everyone was in agreement with that. I have no doubt the service up front will improve and hopefully the food follows. Not that the food was bad by any stretch. Everything can improve which is why I say it. Great job Table 13. Unexpected and amazing food at the Whiskey 13 in the Davenport Grand. Actually shocked that the tuna roll was better than maybe any I have had in Manhattan, LA, London or San Francisco. The bread was warm and house made. Salads fresh and perfectly seasoned. Prime rib done exactly right. And even the kid's menu grilled cheese was hornet enough for the adults and not too finicky for the kids. A great surprise for a snob. read more

We were so excited to finally have a reason to dine at Table 13 in the Davenport Grand Hotel last night. We'd been looking for a reason to try the new space since its recent opening. We were going to see a show at the INB Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, 3/1/17,so I called to make dinner reservations several days earlier and was surprised to find out that no reservations for the restaurant are taken. In anticipation of a busy restaurant with a big show right across the street we planned ahead and decided to arrive for an early dinner at 5:30 since our show started at 7:30, 2 hours for dinner and drinks should be plenty of time, right? When we arrived at 5:30, we were quite surprised to discover a sign at the entrance stating "Open Seating, please seat yourself". But were happy that there were only a few patrons inside and that our plan of arriving early would pay off; maybe we'd even have time for after-dinner cocktails before the show. We were glad that we arrived early, since the restaurant was rapidly filling. However, it took quite some time after ordering for our pre-dinner cocktails to arrive and even longer for our salads (we had ordered off of the "Restaurant Week Menu"). We had just finished our salads when another server brought out another two salads to our table which we turned away and told her that we just finished those and were ready for our main course since we were on a timeline and had a show time to make across the street. By 6:30 (1 hour after we arrived) we had not yet received our main course and were becoming increasingly concerned that we might not make our show on time. The fact that we saw many servers bringing food to tables that hadn't ordered that particular dish and then walking around trying to find the patrons that had ordered it didn't help our anxiety. In fact, when a server brought a tuna roll to our table that we hadn't ordered, we thought for a minute about sharing it with the table of people on our left who were experiencing the same difficulties as we were. What was even more frustrating was that the people at the table on our right (which arrived about 15 minutes later than we had) were being served desert before we even had our main course. But we patiently waited after explaining again to our waiter our timeline. He apologized and assured us that he had placed our order quite some time ago and expected it any minute and said that the kitchen had been "slammed" due to the show. At this point, I do have to say that the wait staff and servers were very gracious and apologetic; they appeared to be having to respond to many other patrons with the same issues that we had and despite the complaints and how busy they were, they were always polite, kind, and apologetic. At 6:50 (1 hour and 20 minutes after being seated), we had still not been served our main course. I contacted the waiter and explained that we couldn't wait any longer and that we needed to get our bill for our drinks and salad so that we could make our show on-time. I'm very saddened that what should have been a great evening of dinner, drinks, and a show turned out so poorly; not being able to eat dinner really does have an impact on the rest of the evening. Another reason for my disappointment is that I was looking forward to trying the food at the "Hotel Grand", the menu appeared to be well thought out with some delicious sounding choices and I wish that we had been able to try them. Being empty-nesters, it's always great to have a new restaurant on our go-to list. While it's evident that you have a great staff of servers doing there best to create a great dining experience, and from some reviews that I've read also a very tasty and unique menu (we love to make a dinner out of tapas), it's obvious that Table 13 at The Davenport Grand Hotel's management needs to respond, and respond quickly if it is to survive. Bad word of mouth travels quickly and can be a huge obstacle for success, especially since Spokane has become such a "foodie" forward city that has so many other choices for gastronomical enjoyment. Some type of control of the flow of patrons is needed, preferably a host/hostess and/or a reservation system and an adequate numbers of wait-staff, servers, and kitchen help at the minimum is necessary. Also, the location of your restaurant/hotel across the street from a major venue/attraction requires attention to venue/attraction dates and an appropriate changes in the ability to handle an increased number of patrons. I welcome any reason to give your establishment another chance to compete for my food dollar with the other fantastic choices that are rapidly increasing in Spokane. read more

I will start off by saying the wait-staff at Table 13 should be commended - They did an outstanding job give their lack of management support and, from what I can tell, a menu that is overpriced and under flavored. We had heard the Shrimp & Grits were good, but I genuinely do not understand how anybody in the food business can taste that and think it's a good idea - bland and bland. The Shrimp & Grits at Twigs at the price of $10, not $22, is hands down the better option. After receiving a bill of $250 for our party, we presented our waitress with a screenshot of a $20 Table 13 coupon from the Inlander, which stated "Show the staff a picture of this coupon to redeem." The Table 13 management staff promptly denounced the coupon and would not honor it. Keeping in mind our party just spent $300 ($50 tip for our server), my wife approached "Jared" at the front desk of the Davenport Grand to challenge the coupon-decision but was met with hostility. Not being as diplomatic as my wife, I informed "Jared" that we would not return, and, in fact, we would be giving our friends and family a "thumbs down" recommendation for, not only the Table 13 restaurant, but the Davenport Grand hotel as a whole as I can only imagine "Jared's" attitude extends across the board. Congrats to , "Jared" and the "Table 13 management staff," you just lost a mountain of goodwill and future business over what amounted to be less than a 10% discount on our tab. Delicious in every way. Every plate (it is "Tapas" so small plate portions) we ordered was fantastic in flavor and presentation. Contemporary atmosphere and music were perfect. All the staff (especially Trevor) were very pleasant. Definitely will be back. read more

My husband and I decided to try Table 13 for a last minute leisurely dinner yesterday evening. The decor is definitely upscale contemporary which is refreshing change since most of Spokane favors traditional decor. Initially we sat at the bar and after the three bar tenders shared a joke and talked for 2 or 3 minutes one came over and asked what we would like to drink. After reviewing the cocktail menu I chose the Elder Collins and my DH asked for a traditional manhattan which was not on the menu. We decided to move a booth in the main restaurant to continue our meal as there was quite a draft at the bar and it wasn't that warm. Our food server Jay was efficient and very nice but it was obvious that they were extremely busy as servers seemed rushed off their feet. However the restaurant was only half full so perhaps they are understaffed? We decided to order a variety of small dishes to share. We settled on the Farm Fresh Heirloom Tomato and Peaches salad, Halibut Sliders, Shoestring Potatoes, Korean Kalbi Short Ribs, and the Ahi Tuna. The Heirloom and Peaches Salad was probably the highlight of our meal, although I didn't particularly think the tomatoes were anything special. I had specifically asked our waiter about ordering a tomato salad out of season, he said they were fabulous tomatoes.The problem with this salad was that it was obviously prepared a while before it was actually consumed. I could tell, I grow my own tomatoes and once you cut a tomato is starts to quickly degrade and becomes slightly mealy which is what this tomato salad tasted like. Otherwise the greens, peaches, the accompanying burrata cheese and dressing were pretty good but the tomatoes were not the highlight. The Korean short ribs were nicely grilled and the accompanying sauce delicious however the whole dish did live up to the small plate idea because really there was only 3 oz of meat in the whole dish, if that! A lot of it was actually bone and fat. Short ribs tend to be fatty so I should have expected this. The Halibut Sliders were ok a bit like eating a small fish sandwich at MacDonald's, again nothing terribly special. The Ahi tuna was fine but again it was obviously prepared in advance because once you put sauce on Ahi it too beings to degrade and get slightly mushy. As our small plates were dropped off at lighten fast speed at our table my husband had to ask our servers (as there were a variety of servers) to please remove the plates that we were done with which would seem obvious if you are dropping something off. Again it seemed that the staff were frazzled which doesn't lend to a relaxing experience. We finally asked for our bill which was a little over $105 dollars. Not terrible for a light dinner with a total of 3 martinis. However my husband's manhattan martini cost a whopping $13.50. Now I wouldn't really mind this if we were in NYC or downtown Seattle so much, or even London, Madrid or Paris all of which I've visited in the past three years but in Spokane it just seems a bit exorbitant. I recognize that building a nice hotel costs money and someone has to pay for it but somehow I don't think Spokane is at that level. It just isn't. Sorry. You could get away with $12 but $13.50 just feels like you are taking advantage of someone. If the food was exceptional and the service superlative then yes you can maybe charge it. But it wasn't. The idea that you can attract guests with high cost drinks only works if you can provide exceptional service, food and beverages. From my experience you can go elsewhere in downtown Spokane and enjoy better food, drinks and atmosphere for far less. But I truly wish them the best of luck...let's see how long it takes for them to figure this out. read more
