I have not had an experience like this one in a long time. Finally had a group of people that were willing to venture out of their comfort zones and it paid off. We ordered 2 of each of the appetizers and I have a hard time picking which one was my favorite. The mushrooms were delicious, the fried green tomatoes were surprising on different levels, and the tater tots matched all my expectations. The real deal was the entree. Ordered the Duck confit just to stray from items that I could get at other restaurants and I can whole heartedly say that I made the right call. I have not had duck in a long time but I don't remember any part of my previous experiences leaving me as speechless as this one. The meat melted in my mouth and the flavors encapsulated my tongue. The duck alone was enough to make me want to come back over and over. I did order some dessert and although I am not one for sweets too often, I can say that the beignets were amazing and the filling was everything I could have wanted and more. Abysmal. The first clue was the near empty restaurant at 5:30pm on a Friday evening. I've been here before and it's always been packed. I had a burger, medium, and fries - not hard to do, but what they served was uncooked in the middle. Just atrocious. I complained and they sent a second burger over but it was also not sufficiently cooked and at that point I got the check and left. Yikes. What used to be a five star place has cratered into ... I don't know what. I am saddened. Suggestion to the owner, spend more time focusing on the basics and less time worrying about the aioli. And for crying out tears, put in a gas fired grill. Ugh. Ambience: there is a small attached parking lot, try to park there by going east on 6th Ave when approaching the restaurant. Noisy inside. Service: slow service on this night was the thing we liked least. Food: Being a big duck confit fan, I couldn't resist trying it here. It did not disappoint. Crispy on the outside, very tender inside. Did not love the accompanying dish that reminded me of turkey stuffing. Halibut was baked to perfection. Pasta dish was gobbled down by our friend. This is the second time this month my wife and I have been in for the Prix Fixe menu with an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $50.00 per person and the requirement that all at the table order from the Prix Fixe menu. It stops at the end of May, so get in for GREAT FOOD and a GREAT DEAL The regular menu is available if your table would rather order from that. Our choices were a delicious repeat. We shared the broccolini with bagna cauda and brioche bread crumbs and the Cajun Tater Tots with Sauce Picante and Tasso ham as appetizers. They were divine. We both selected the Tonkatsu pork and it was amazing! The layers of flavors, temperatures, and the textures keep your mouth wanting more. For the dessert round we ordered the chocolate beignets with coconut frosting and pecans. They are a chocolate bomb and are simply impossible to pass up! Ask for a spoon to use with your fork to open each one slowly because the chocolate is HOT! These sooooo good that you WILL want to lick the plate. The atmosphere is casual, friendly, and relaxed. It is great for date night with your sweetie. Carrie has been our server for our last two visits and she was very knowledgeable about the menu and what wines are great matches. Ask for recommendation for something different and you will be delighted with the choices. We have found two new wines that we had to buy for home. The staff supports each other so you may get another person helping you server. We really enjoy the creative menus of Chef Aniedra Nichols and it keeps us coming back for more! read more

Table 6 is small but quaint. The decor is pretty plain for a restaurant that offers a high end menu. The menu is very limited and changes often. The service is very good despite the fact that the host has an attitude and eyed our party up and down while verifying our reservation. He was very off putting. The food is good overall but we question if it is worth the expense. Portions are small and while some dishes are tasty, you leave feeling hungry. Our table of seven only had one wine list, so it took a while to get that ordered. Our server was friendly and attentive. We visited during happy hour and tried the Kimchi pimento cheese dip with fried wonton chips as a snack with drinks. It was a generous amount for the two of us and it was so so good! I have, over the years, loved Table 6. There's something about the cacophony of a full restaurant in full swing (and yeah--it's got a brick wall that reverberates sound) that I think adds to its charm. It being literally downhill and a 5-minute walk from where I live has made it both a "special occasion" restaurant and a "we've got friends over, let's show 'em this great spot in our neighborhood" place. I've seen it go from standard menus to prix fixe menus, to the chalkboard, and now to set menus with no specials. I saw Mike the server/host go from that position to owning the place (previously). What I've never had is a mediocre meal until this week. I don't like the special-less menu now but that is just personal preference. Our threesome mostly felt let down. First course may have been our favorite. The muhammara dip was great, the pomegranate molasses and saltiness made for a great bite on the pita chips. The lentil soup was a small portion (for $13) but tasty. For the main course our table had the Kabocha Squash which was done well and interesting, the mascarpone maybe my favorite part. The duck in the duck confit was very solid-a little less crispy than I'd like but the meat itself delectable. The cranberry stuffing on the side (a 4" x 4" by 3/4" block of it) was ... odd. And I had a 1" by 1" chunk in the middle that was completely dry, like biting into a crouton. The bone-in spare rib was the roughest: overly fatty (I cook a LOT of winter stews with ham hocks and it was fattier than 99% of the ham hocks I've ever used) and just under lukewarm in temp. A disappointment. Our favorite thing on the plate was the polenta far and away. The final miss was something I've ordered for nearly 20 years: the beignets. I (stupidly, after a couple glasses of Pinot) years ago picked one up and bit into it and scorched the hell out of my mouth. They've always been quite hot. This night, I cut into the first one and it was half solid. As were the other three. They were obviously 2-3 minutes short of being fried correctly. I have literally zero compunction plopping down $150-$200 bucks a head for a great meal. What I do not enjoy is spending like that on what was a mediocre meal. I do hope the owners tweak it and the quality gets better. Again: I live close enough I could roll a ball out my front door and hit Table 6 or the corner store which used to be the floral shoppe. I do hope it gets better for not only my fond memories of the place (I've eaten here numerous NYE's and anniversaries) but for the proximity to my place and what it can add to the neighborhood. read more

Enjoyed a great Monday night dinner with my wife. Had a 7:00 pm reservation and was sat promptly. Wine section by the bottle is very well thought out and covers any "Winn-o"s need, as well as, the service bejng very helpful with suggestions for a more beginners palate. Food wise, we started with the wildfire salad and it was very light and refreshing. The pickled green tomorrows with the puffed quinoa and light buttermilk made for a well rounded bite without feeling to overwhelming. My wife had the cod, which was perfectly cooked, accompanied with a delicious celery root purée with just a kiss of horseradish. For myself, I fully enjoyed the butternut squash tagliatelle with wild mushrooms. Great earthy flavor and off course topped with a wonderful brown butter sage sauce. We recently hosted an intimate wedding dinner at Table 6 in their private dining room and it could not have been more perfect. Their online booking system was simple to navigate and Amanda, the general manager/owner, was in constant contact with me in the weeks prior to ensure everything was exactly as we imagined. The food was exquisite - every dish served was beautifully plated and tasted extremely fresh. Portions sizes were also excellent. With that being said, the real stand out of the evening was the absolutely outstanding service from Ryan. He was genuine, funny, and extremely attentive to our every single need that our group had. He put us all at ease and perfectly orchestrated the service throughout the entire celebration. Ryan set the tone for the entire night and complimented our energy to perfection. Finally got around to eating at Table 6 after almost ten years of living in Denver and had a wonderful meal. It was my birthday and we had a party of 6. Not a bad dish among all we ordered. Shared three apps - merguez sausage, fried eggplant discs with a red pepper sauce, and the French onion tots. For entrees we had the pasta with butternut squash in a brown butter and Sage sauce, the sea bass with broccolini and a lemon caper sauce, and a couple others. Tried two of the desserts - both excellent. Good, fairly priced wine list. Excellent service, great rustic ambiance and neighborhoody feel. Will definitely be back! read more

Be prepared, our bill was $193 (appetizer, 2 entrees, a glass of white, bottle of wine and our awesome desert!) and don't forget to tip %20! Our waiters were attentive and very hospitable. I had the Korean Beef and my partner had the Halibut. The Korean beef was a little salty, but the other flavors definitely made up for it. The sauce was bland and the mushrooms were just tossed in wet - no cohesiveness. This was a hard pass - just not good. PORK SCALLOPINI - just ok, again was hoping for more of what they described in the menu but did not pick up any preserved lemon flavor which sounded good. Tater Tots - Think upscale tater tots. These were delicious. The chili really added some great flavors. Grilled Brie - Great tasting brie with apples and nuts. I didn't love the bread they served it with so I got more of the complementary bread. Veal Schnitzel - The schnitzel was good, but the flavors were fantastic. Table 6 is my favorite restaurant. The service is amazing: the servers know food, good food, and can talk intelligently about the menu. The menu changes often according to what product they have so you know everything is fresh and if you aren't thrilled in one visit you will be the next. Even though I don't usually drink rose the sommelier suggested a dry one to pair with our meal: it was fantastic. That said, their wine list is unique and, like the menu, changes frequently. Tonight I was blown away by the popovers filled with liver mousse: popover was buttery and crisp while the mousse was salty and creamy. Fried whole snapper had a crispy skin and juicy flaky meat. The duck confit, one of their staple dishes, is always good: crispy skin with a bright salad, cherries, and salty cheese. One touch I really enjoy is the way the season the buttery that comes with the bread. I usually never eat bread that comes before a meal but it just goes to show how delicious food is when it has a bit of salt and pepper. Table 6 has it going on at all levels. In recent years, Denver has exploded in fine creative restaurants, many with offerings that are comparable to top-tier restaurants in East and West Coast cities like New York and Los Angeles, only at somewhat more moderate prices. If Table 6 is any example, those days are gone. We arrived promptly for our Saturday evening reservation, only to find that our table was not only unavailable, but we had to wait for 10 or 15 minutes to be seated, only to be pushed aside into the bar area without a word of apology. What are reservations for? I suppose the menu here varies with some frequency, but the number of entrées is quite limited, and to be honest the portions are ungenerous, to be kind, especially given their highly inflated price. All four of our entrées hovered in the mid 30s to low 40s. Sides are extra. My pork was unimpressive, not that tasty really, and even a bit chewy. My wife's duck leg (confit) was nothing less than atrocious, one minuscule leg left in the oven far too long, dried out and frankly tasteless. I have not been this disappointed with a meal in years. The salad was OK, but hardly big enough to split, and with a $15 price tag, should've knocked me over. Lots of chatter about the tater tot potatoes, but I think that appetizer might've been $16 for five or six little tater tots. That's pretty ridiculous. Then there's the wine list. My gosh, it's the first time I've been at a restaurant when they're not only is not a single bottle of house wine even in the high $40 range, but not even in the high $50 range, and the lowest priced wine bottles, unspectacular vintages, start in the $70's!! We voted with our "feet", and split a couple of beers. Perhaps the most offensive thing of all, on top of Denver's new very high sales tax rate for restaurant food, approaching California's sales tax rate, this pretentious restaurant brags about its "hard-working" kitchen staff on its menu and forces a separate service charge for its food preparers. It's tipping gone mad. If the cooks are that hard-working and talented, which clearly they are not, then the owners should pay them more and not confiscate even more money from patrons with forced extra tipping. Why that's not tipping at all! It's a tax that just goes to the staff without really asking the customer how they feel about it. The ambience is bustling, and surrounded in hard brick walls. One can even struggle to hear and be heard without shouting. And it's a race to the bottom because of that. Table 6 prices it's menu like a five star restaurant, but delivers a one-star product. Skip this place. Denver has many more creative options for a great night out. Maybe save your shekels for your higher mortgage payment next month. read more

Having not been to Table 6 for years my husband and I were looking forward to our Saturday dinner there. Service and ambience were great but the items the two of us chose were nearly inedible. We each had steak frites; the steak was filled with gristle and tough making half of each bite something we couldn't chew or swallow. The frites were just limp, cold potato chips. We started with the tater tots and the winter roasted veg. Both were just ok and were a bit disappointed by the tater tots given it's fried which made my expectations way high. For the main dishes we went with the duck confit and the falafel dish. Both were tasty but the duck wins easily. The meat was so tender and the wild rice complemented it very well. Finally we finished off with the chocolate beignets. They were good but felt there was something missing. Tried this place last night with some friends. The service was excellent! However, the good could have been much better. I had the duck confit which was served over a bed of wild rice. The duck was tender but a little dry. The rice needed more seasoning. It was a good dish but not a great one. With the prices in the $25-$35 range, I really expect a great dish with better flavor balance. I'd give this place one more shot on account of the good service and the hope that they develop better dishes in the future. read more

I love supporting local restaurants, and I love it even more when I have a fabulous experience dining there. Table 6 was no exception. Went here for Sunday brunch with my daughter and can't wait to come back and try their dinner service. They have an extensive beer, wine, and cocktail list, and I ordered a mimosa with grapefruit juice. I also ordered coffee, which to my pleasant surprise came in my own personal French press. I ordered the farmer's breakfast and daughter ordered the kids french toast with bacon. Both were great. I really appreciate restaurants that come up with delicious kids menu items. I had a bite of her dish and it was so good. Their biscuits are light and fluffy and the ham, bacon, and sausage are practically perfect in every way. It's like if Mary Poppins was serving you up a plate of breakfast meat instead of a bearded guy in a hat. Having said that, the aforementioned beardy server was fantastic. He recommended I get a side of green chiles with my meal and also try a biscuit with their green chile gravy. Sage advice. Two thumbs up. This place makes my belly happy. read more

I don't give many 5 reviews - so, don't worry I can't give five here. BUT! I was cursing halfway through our meal because I was convinced I'd found my fiver. Unfortunately my wife's pork chop was dry and overcooked albeit otherwise really very good. We started dinner with the tots and grilled Brie and pear plate. Something magical was happening with those tots - so fantastic. Among the four of us we had the duck confit (our only menu staple), oxtail ramen (me!), pork chop and linguini. The duck and ramen were hands down the standouts. I'll focus on the ramen since that's what I ordered (@waiters recco) - deeply rich broth w/light fresh noodles topped with a ball of braised oxtail that just falls apart (+a perfect egg and greens). Just. FANTASTIC. The duck is clearly a house favorite - understandable, it was well done. Our waiter was attentive, helpful and really knowledgeable about the restaurant's approach. It's clear nothing is standing still here - the menu is fresh, approachable and incredibly well executed (with the exception of that damn pork chop). I've been coming here for a decade now.... it feels weird to say that. I probably go here 3-4 times every year. I don't know why I haven't reviewed it before. Table 6 is one of the best restaurants in the state AND has been consistently good for a long time. On Sunday we got our to-go order (during the pandemic). I wondered how they would package it all up and if it would be as good once I got it home. The sauce for both the ox tail crepinette (I admit I had to google what a crepinette was...) and lamb were in separate containers so we could heat it up and add as much in as we wanted. And sweet mother of mercy did it hold up, it was almost as good as having it served in the restaurant. The ox tail was fall apart/melt in your mouth goodness and the broth + shoyu egg with it was over the top yum. I highly recommend supporting them if you can during this time. read more

It has been four years since we had visited Table6, and we experienced a great return! The atmosphere is still warm and inviting. The staff is all very professional and kind. We started with a couple of small plates that included the French onion tots which were presented with sherry onion jam and melted gruyere; they were decadent and great to share with friends! We also tried the lutenitsa dip made with crispy eggplant and pickled raisins. The flavors of this dip were probably my personal favorite from the entire evening! Give it a try! Bob tried the grilled jerk pork tenderloin. The pork was fall-off-the-bone cooked to perfection, in a bed of coconut-stewed local pumpkins, Swiss chard, pineapple salsa and plantain chips. The rest of us tried the smoked butternut squash tagliatelle pasta entrée. The fresh pasta came in a sauce of wild mushrooms, sage, crispy butternut and brown butter. It was a great autumnal bite. We split two desserts among the four of us. The four chocolate beignets were perfect for sharing. Warm melted chocolate cascaded out of the warm beignets accompanied with coconut cream, toasted coconut, pineapple-rum compote and Luxardo cherries. The Colorado apple pie bar was topped with chai ice cream and brown butter pecans, another delightful fall flavor to end a great evening. The restaurant has a great wine and beer list and handful of canned cocktails, but they do not have a full bar, just FYI. We will plan not to wait another four years to return! read more

So. The first day of restaurant week started off not quite spectacular with this place. Although it came highly recommended by a dear friend. We walked in to a full restaurant for dinner without a reservation but found a great spot by the window facing the street. We were happy. This review is mainly for their food. It was so lackluster and so ordinary that I was honestly disappointed and felt bad for my friend. We ordered the Flank Steak and Poached Shrimp, Seared Ahi Tuna and Chocolate Beignet. The poached shrimp was bland. Seared Ahi tuna has the same issue and was just sitting there looking so boring presentation wise. The beignets were weird in taste. So obviously nothing really resonated with me. Well it did but not the way I wanted. The service was great. The venue nice. It's really not a mystery to me. I just want good food.
