I drive by this place frequently enough and see a packed parking lot all the time. I had heard they have good burgers and shakes. Service 5star, they were helpful and kept the place clean. Parking can be difficult here and lots of seating but lots of people... We tried a burger (since we already ate dinner and didn't want anything more). $2.29 for a cheeseburger that wasn't anything special, frozen patty warmed up. I wouldn't eat another one here again. We have been told a number of times when it is strawberry or peach season you have to get a shake from here. So we came to try a fresh peach shake. For $4.79 it was quite pricy. The peaches were fresh and delicious but alright soft serve it was mixed with. My kids tried the glaciers (slushy and soft serve). For an x-small it was $2.19 which was pretty good for the size of it. But disappointing that the slush was fairly bland. And there was a ton of ice cream to go with the little slush there was... Taco Amigo is a tough place for me to review critically. I grew up eating here, worked here in high school, and continue to bring my children here regularly. What I can tell you is that I love it. Sure it might be the nostalgia that kicks in every time I walk through the door, but nothing beats their burgers, fries, burritos, and of course that sweet sweet pink sauce. The hot sauce is great. The burritos are good. The tacos are okay. But I personally love the burgers. I love it all. If you don't already know, you have to make sure that you try their fresh strawberry shakes and fresh peach shakes. They are only available in the summers during each fruit season. If you're ever in Pleasant Grove you have to stop at the Taco Amigo. The locals like to call it TA. The big Amigo burger and bean and cheese burrito our local favorites. If you think you like fries, order a large but be prepared to share. We always share a large fry with our whole family. Make sure to get extra fry sauce some of the best around. They usually have fresh shake of the season. Right now it's a fresh strawberry shake. De-licious. One of the Hidden menu options a root beer freeze that you can get any flavor of soda for. There are some great things about Taco Amigo and then a few things that we don't really like, starting with the price of everything. This is why the 3-star rating instead of 4-stars. For the good, they make their food fresh daily and much of it from scratch. Their beans are quite good for a Mexican fast-food joint. The restaurant itself has been recently remodeled and is quite clean and modern. They have a nice variety of offerings, including hamburgers and fries if that's what you go to a Mexican restaurant for. We've heard they have fresh peach and strawberry shakes during the summer and early fall. They do have a variety of ice cream and other frozen concoctions that they offer so undoubtedly your kids will be happy you came! Unfortunately, the prices are just unrealistic for what you get. A very basic soft corn taco (tortilla, ground beef, lettuce) is $1.59 but the real questionable part is if you try to add tomatoes or olives or pretty much any additional topping. They cost 30 cents each. If you enjoy a taco with a variety of toppings and/or sour cream it's pretty easy to double the price. And if these tacos are anywhere near $3 then you're paying far too much. They don't offer a salsa bar, just some hot sauce in a metal pump dispenser. It's an Americanized of Mexican food as you'll probably ever find. All that being said, I'd still go back because of the freshness and the clean restaurant. My vote for a fast food Mexican restaurant. They are one of the favorites in my family. They have remodeled and enlarged their seating. They are always busy but the service is fast. I just can't figure out what this restaurant wants to be. The burgers and fries all get top billing on the menu, you have to look for the tacos and what you get is mom's version of a taco. Tortilla, lettuce, tomato, bland salsa, and a meat of your choice. They are almost always busy, which I take as a compliment to their tasty food, clean environment and great service. I work close by and eat there almost once a week for lunch. Thought I was walking into a divey street taco restaurant until I actually walked in. All I saw were the most white and delightsome Utah County types I've ever seen assembled outside of LaVell Edwards' stadium! It's like a cross between Taco Bell and Taco Time with table service. The name is deceiving because the best thing on the menu is a cheeseburger and fries! However, if you want a thick, tall burger with lots of trimmings, this isn't the place for you. Taco Amigo has old fashioned burgers that are flat and covered with fry sauce. I grew up on Parker's in AF. (If you know, you know.) This is the next best thing. Let nicest part of Taco Amigo is the building. It's very clean and nice looking. The downside is the food and cost. It's insane how much they charge for the burritos they serve. I paid $2.99 for a chicken burrito that is skinny and mostly consists of sour cream. The meat and bean burrito is slightly larger but has a lot of cold cheese, beans, and some ground beef for $3.49. Last I got a small strawberry shake for $4.39. There are a ton of frozen strawberries in it. Personally I think there was a little too much in proportion to ice cream. My recommendation: Go to taco bell down the street. You'll get A LOT more bang for your buck. Taco Amigo would be much more competitive if they dropped a dollar from each burrito. Another option is going across the street to Rancherito's. Quality is about the same but Rancherito's is 2-3 times bigger. read more

Good for a quick cheese melt or bean burrito. The shakes are very good but over priced. FYI their "Oreo" shake is not made with real Oreos, but generic cookies. Made my first trip to Taco Amigo today, and left very unimpressed. The place was packed and the drive through line backed up almost to the street, so walking in we thought, Wow this place must be awesome! The interior of the restaurant looks very new and fancy, which is maybe how they get away with conning so many people into buying their food. I got the chicken enchilada- which was covered in a sauce that tasted like what canned spaghetti-o's come in (not good), and a hard taco that was very average. I always like to try "mexican food" places to taste their salsa/hot sauce options, so I was pretty disappointed to see one option in the metal pump next to the ketchup and fry sauce, and even more disappointed after I tasted this supposed "hot sauce" which resembled ketchup more than any type of mexican flavor. The fries were just ok, but their fry sauce was pretty watered down and flavorless. Ok now the good part- dessert! The Glacier is a mix of soft serve vanilla ice cream and a slushee, in a variety of flavors, and that was delicious. Didn't try a shake, but saw plenty and those looked great as well. I guess this place is cheap enough and bland enough to pass as a "taco" place in cheap, bland Pleasant Grove, but for future Mexican food lunches, I will steer clear of Taco Amigo. read more

Milkshake was a little runny, and not really all that great. I ate less than half than threw it away. Fries were cold. Bean Chesse burrito was mediocre. Like the 89 cent one at Taco Bell is better.
