I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with the food. I ordered their combo plate, which comes with an enchilada, a taco, refried beans, and a drink. The food is more of the authentic Mexican taste than that of the Tex-mex style, and although it's fast-food, it didn't have a fast-food taste. The seasonal shakes are the best thing they have, by far, fresh strawberry and peach in the summer and fall. The food is good for fast takeout. More expensive than Taco Bell but way better ingredients. You kind of have to know what to order, meat burrito and the supreme burrito with a bunch of extra hot sauce is good stuff. Our first time here. Small menu and lack of description on their food choices. We had to ask an employee for help on what to order. The food was non-impressive and expensive. Adding a small fry and drink to your item was an extra $4.49! The place was packed and I don't understand why it's so popular. This is a new place to me as I have recently moved to Utah, I gotta say this is the best Mexican fast food I have had, far better than Taco Bell or my previous favorite, Del Taco. Taco Amigo is a Pleasant Grove institution. It has been consistently good for years. The place is always spotless clean, and the service quick. There is sometimes a wait at the drive thru, but it has gotten better. My favorites are the cheese burritos and the soft flour tacos. The prices could be better, but it is a mom and pop joint surviving in the world of chain restaurants, so i understand. read more

This review is ONLY about the food, not service, location or cleanliness. If you have never been out of utah county you will probably like this place. No spice, no flavor, bland, fake cheese, watery meats, straight stewed tomato, canned flavorless beans. There is no seasoning in anything. Its just gross and reminds me of food they would prepare at a senior care center. The prices are inflated for some strange reason. I have tried multiple menu items over the years and have always been incredibly underwhelmed. I have never chosen to eat here any of those times, I've only been dragged along by someone else. I'm not sure what other people order from here, burgers maybe? I really am not exaggerating when I say taco time, taco bell, betos, rancheritos and the like are all better tasting than here. It's weird that it's seems popular, but I didn't grow up in pleasant grove so I must not "get it". read more

This place is always packed.... and I have no idea why. The portion I received was both tiny, on a TV dinner microwave plate, and looked and tasted like microwave food. No desire to go back and waste my money. read more

Gotta say as a new person to the area I don't get why the locals love this place. Burritos and tacos taste like they'd be easily replicated at home with a microwave. The special strawberry shakes during the early-summer season is the sole highlight. read more

Ok first of all it is a little odd that it's called taco amigo and are known for there hamburgers and fries.... Put that aside they do have a pretty good standard hamburger (reminds me of a good old fashion fair burger) and the FRIES! Wow I understand why everyone brags about them! Granite they aren't fresh but they are freshly out of the deep fryer (rather then sitting under the heat lamp like McDonald's). They are a glorified McDonald's fries but hot, crispy, and you get your money's worth! The drive through is so busy but the customer service is great! Oh and they have really good fry sauce! read more

My all time favorite fast food joint. I lived close as a kid and went here a ton. Have always, and will always love their food.

I could eat taco amigo's fries for every meal. It might be a little bit pricy compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area, but it tastes great. You can order your burritos with the hot sauce or fry sauce inside the burrito! No need to dip! Their seasonal shakes are awesome as well. My favorite is the fresh strawberry shake. read more

I was NOT impressed with my food. It just was a plain bean burrito and a chicken taco... For $7. Nothing out of the ordinary. And now my stomach hurts a whole lot. But 2 stars for the guy at the window--totally cheery and helpful. And for the hot sauce, which was actually fairly good. read more

I've been going to TA for years and still love it. For some reason, the PG location seems to taste better to me than the North Orem one. It's not your gourmet mexican food but it's great fast food - very fresh and the employees there are super friendly. Try the oreo shake next time! read more

I love this place we come every time we are in town. The more the better. The price is a lot more than fair. But the restaurant is always full. There could definitely be more seating. Sometimes it's so full you may as well just leave. The pink sauce is to die for. And the food is very good. The service is great when we went my young niece spilled pink sauce all over the table and it was quickly cleaned up with a smile from the worker. read more
