Drive in service is always stellar. Consistent, friendly service. Our food orders are always accurate, hot and made to order. It's a nice option when you need a light, quick snack to tide you over. I have never entered the store itself, the convenience of the drive thru does not allow it. As our neighborhood location, it is a great option we have continued to return to. read more

I'm disabled and not being able to go through the drive thru is a major inconvenience especially in the evening. Not only do I have to get out and cross cars driving in but also having to go into the store while it's dark. There isn't handicap parking right in front. Do better. This location is always problematic. They were fixing the lighting in the drive thru. It's still inconvenient and not a very appropriate time. I tend to avoid this Taco Bell just because I've had many problematic orders come out from the drive thru but there are those rare days where one thinks "MAYBE this day will be ok". Tonight, the answer I got was "Nope, MAY never BE ok." This team LOVES to talk. And rather loudly most times while the drive thru window is wide open. Sometimes you can still hear them when the window is closed. And often times their conversation is completely inappropriate. Truthfully, the banter makes me miss being young and free... but this is probably what causes all the errors.... the horrible, avoidable but wasn't-caught-because-you-were-too-busy-to-pay-attention kind of errors. Steak tacos would've been great. That was what I wanted. Just a few regular crunchy steak tacos. But why when we got home was there crunchy Rice tacos? Rice tacos... RICE tacos... RICE TACOS?! A rare 5 star W from me, and yes it's for this Taco Bell. Specifically for the night shift staff on Friday night, May 19, 2023. I placed an order online for the drive through around 7:30pm. After placing the order it said to go to the drive through and say my name and they'll start making it. Knowing this, I went to the drive through around 11:30pm as I was busy doing errands. I pull up to the drive through and the staff agree to make my order again because my original order was already made 4 hours prior ‍ they said it just popped up on their screen to make at that moment. A flaw in Taco Bell's system that management needs to look at and do some testing. Place an order online and choose drive through, and see if it just pops up on screen to make right away or not. I was grateful for their help so I tried to give a tip at the window, but the employee said they appreciate it but they're sorry they cannot accept any tips. I felt bad that I couldn't give a tip, so I'm doing the next best thing I can think of, which is giving a review from a Yelp Elite member that hopefully management sees to show that they did a great job handling the situation and have a return customer with ease. You know, now days you have to put the food to the side and take a moment to show appreciation for the workers. I wanted tacos from a taqueria but at 9:30pm I had no luck. I ended up at Taco Bell. The guy who took my order via drive thru, gave off happy vibes. As if he enjoyed his job. Then when I approached the video, he had that same energy. He wasn't extra smily or flirty, or even chipper. I'm usually nervous to go to drive-thrus in Hercules nowadays because people seem to have the worst experiences with the drive-thru staff. Thankfully for my visit I didn't have a problem. The staff was nice and I received my order quickly. I went through the drive-thru around 7pm on a weekday and it wasn't too busy as there was only 1 car ahead of me. As expected, noon and 5pm is when the drive-thru line is the busiest. We ordered a 6 pack of supreme crunchy tacos and Baja blasts for the drink. For 6 tacos, we were given a lot of hot sauce inside the bag. The difference between a regular crunchy taco and the supreme is that for a little extra charge, the supreme includes sour creme and diced tomatoes on top. read more

When the drive through is busy and you want to just sit down and have a bite to eat, don't let this sign above the door fool you. At first glance you'll see tons of open tables through the windows but once your hand hits the door handle... LOCKED! Don't advertise dine-in if your not going to let people in. Don't advertise "Now Hiring, Apply Within" if you can't come in. No sign on the door saying temporary closed, or "be back in 15" just nothing. Knock on the door, no one comes. Highly Disrespectful Owners -- to Staff and Customers To preface this, I rarely EVER write negative reviews. I have never before eaten at this Taco Bell in Hercules. I had to pick up a special order at the nearby Home Depot, so I stopped in for a quick lunch on Thursday, May 9th, at approx. 12 PM. It is now Saturday, and I've been thinking about the experience ever since. Just before I entered the restaurant, two women in beautiful, colorful, embellished sarees entered the restaurant. They looked so lovely, I was actually planning to compliment them when I reached them inside. When I walked in, one of the women (I'll call her #1), had walked directly behind the counter, so I was assuming she was an owner. The other, (#2), headed to the restroom. #1 was talking very loudly at (not "to") the employees. I began placing my order at the kiosk beside another gentleman, who was simultaneously ordering. #2 walks out of the restroom. I turn and smile at her. Instead of attempting to smile back, she looks me up and down with utter contempt and disgust. (I am a heavily tattooed, 54 year-old woman, so I'm assuming this was part of it? I cannot think of another reason why my presence would so offend her.) #2 shouts to #1 from the middle of the restaurant, I'm assuming telling her they need to go. So, they are shouting back and forth to one another. The gentleman who attempted to order at the annoying kiosk looked like he was taking a short break from a manual labor job, as he was covered in what appeared to drywall dust. (So, this guy's most likely a hard worker.) While #1 and #2 are shouting back and forth, he walks to the counter to pay cash (as the kiosk does not accept cash.) Please note - not just this Taco Bell, but every Taco Bell: The kiosks are already annoying. They are installed so that owners can pay fewer humans for hourly work. It is especially tough (and also anxiety-inducing) for elderly, less tech-savvy people to order. It's also aggravating for anyone who needs to pay with cash. A nice African-American young woman employee (so, at that moment, the cashier) attempted to take the gentleman's cash, yet there was not enough change in the register to return to him. (Ownership/management should, at minimum, have sufficient bills in the register at ALL times. Customers get frustrated and take it out on the employees.) The cashier kindly asked if he had any smaller bills. He did not. She turned to #1 and simply asked if there were any smaller bills. #1, who is now walking from behind the counter, and is pretty much side-by-side with the gentleman, without even looking back towards the nice cashier, YELLS, while throwing up her hand, "TELL HIM TO GO TO THE BANK!" She storms to the front of the restaurant, where #2 is waiting for her at the door. As the two women open the door and begin to walk out, one YELLS to the cashier, "YOU PUT ON GLOVES!" The cashier raises her hand, which is completely bandaged, and says she cannot fit a glove over her hand. #1 yells again, "YOU PUT ON GLOVES!" #1 & #2 storm out. After they leave, I hear the nice young woman say to the gentleman, "I'm really sorry. Is there any way you could pay with a credit card?" He explains he only has cash, and she gives him suggestions as to where he could get smaller bills close-by. Again she apologizes. He leaves. I could tell she felt bad. About 10 minutes later, he came back with smaller bills. He must have really wanted Taco Bell, because after all of that, I certainly would not have come back. While the two women were in the restaurant, the vibe throughout the entire restaurant was really uncomfortable. It was as if a big black cloud fell over the entire kitchen. After they left, by the time I started eating, I noticed a seismic shift in employee morale. They were all working hard fulfilling numerous drive-thru orders, but everyone in the kitchen seemed happy to be with one another ... treating each other with respect. They were being friendly and professional. If woman #1 and/or #2 ARE the owner(s), I hope you understand that if your restaurant has problems -- the problem is YOU. Service workers, especially fast food service workers, are already treated terribly by many customers - daily, if not multiple times a day. Rude customers seek out people in service positions to abuse, as they know they will rarely be contested, as the workers don't want lose their jobs. It's a messed-up power move. And it's only gotten worse since the beginning of Covid. It's bad enough that your employees are already most likely regularly being mistreated by rude customers. But to abuse your OWN EMPLOYEES, especially so brazenly in front of customers, is unconscionable. If I owned my own restaurant anywhere near Hercules, I would try to hire every one of your employees -- if not for any reason, but to get them out from under your thumb(s), and provide a reasonable work environment, where they are not treated like trash. I wasn't planning to write a review - I didn't think it different from all other Taco Bells I've been to, BUT! Drive thru staff are FUNNY! I put in my order asked for extra mild sauce, and pulled up. (Three cars ahead of me and still got to the window in less than 5 minutes.) I guess I couldn't really see how much mild sauce they gave me when I checked the bag, so I asked for a little bit more. Window lady tried to give me a handful - like literally, a few dozen handful kinda thing - and I thought that was hilarious. I just asked for maybe 3 or 4 more. Going to do a fully detailed review of my whole experience. I went through the drive thru and asked if they had 2 items, they confirmed they still have those items (1 was a drink). I ordered them and noticed one of them was wrong, after discussing it with the employee i was informed they no longer have that type of burrito and I made a compromise and had the item altered to my liking. The drink I ordered seemed to be fine at this point and I continued ordering. I ordered the rest of my items and pulled up to the window to be met by the person I ordered from. She was not paying attention to my existence at all. I assume she was taking someone else's order, I don't know what she was doing but what I do know is it took her 3 minutes to collect payment and then finally gave me my drinks. The freeze I ordered which was confirmed by this employee to be available was not the correct drink when handed to me. I asked why it was different and they inform me they don't carry the one I asked for anymore (then why did you confirm you had it and charge me for a drink I didn't want? Why change my order rather than tell me and let me make a decision?). The people in the back were very loud and I could hear them swearing and joking about things the whole time. This was incredibly unprofessional, they all looked to be 16-19 years old so I don't really blame them. When I got my whole order home I noticed the Nacho Bell Grande that I ordered had very soggy chips, they appeared to be twice fried which was honestly a bit gross tasting, almost couldn't eat it. My beefy melt burrito had chipotle sauce on it, I've ordered this item at least 3 times before and it never had that sauce on it before. I'm very sensitive to spicy foods so I couldn't eat this burrito. The Baja Blast I ordered was overly carbonated due to a bad mixture from the drink machine not being hooked up/programmed correctly and/or the syrup mix being very low. It tasted like seltzer water with a splash of the drink mix. It did not taste good. Overall the food was awful, over half my meal was inedible, they forgot my taco so the 1 thing I may have actually been able to consume was forgotten and they didn't communicate with me about items being unavailable and just changed my order on me after I had paid and gave me a different drink (freeze) than what I asked for with no confirmation on my side. I used to work in food service and did for roughly 2 years, it was very stressful due to needing to get everything right and even then most people aren't happy. I now work in customer service. So I'm a bit understanding when it comes to human error or poor training. This experience honestly just left me sad/disappointed. I don't even feel like going back because last time they just told me "I don't care bro, its 2 f***in dollars" about a forgotten item". Probably will return at some point but, I mean honestly expectations are very low, if they got my order correct at this point I'd be absolutely shocked. Great place for kids to get a job though. If you're going to not stay open as late as you're supposed to be then you should update the hours that you are open. First off I like to give a shout out to Emily in the drive thru, very nice and helpful when they discontinued an item in the menu and she made it happen. This was a late night stop also and usually they are close to closing. They have good deals like their craving box and their value items are pretty legit. They also have the Baja blast which is one of my drink there. I would give it a higher rating if they kept the menu simple and not go crazy pushing new items.
