Update to review from three years ago. I reallllyyy liked the Al pastor taco this time around. They were generous and it was 5 stars for sure! However, still underwhelmed BG the quesadilla, meat was dry and not a lot of flavor. The burrito was alright, and super generous with the serving. Just felt it lacked flavor a bit. Chicharron taco! I love this place! It is a nationhood joint with weird hours. However it is a great place to take out as the food is served piping hot and you can have plenty of time to drive to your next destination and eat in the parking lot. I basically keep coming back here for the same things - lilis fries and their steak quesadilla. Those Lili fries are to dieeeee for. So damn flavorful with everything you could possibly want on them I legit cannot get enough. So good. Their quesadilla was also freshly made and delicious. Ok review edit since I got to try it. Last time I complained because before heading to work I stopped here at 7am and with limited time the shop opened at 7:10 so couldn't order. Came on the weekend after a morning run, and the asada burrito isn't good. Throwing sour cream on a burrito is usually a no but i can let that slide... However the asada pieces for the most part is chewy. And $12 for a burrito is way too expensive for a basic burrito. Burritos in California are always 9-10$, crazy. Only came here because friend said these were the best burritos in Austin LOL.... These TexMex places in Texas are a bummer... I can compare this place to a lunch truck in a construction site in Cali. Which falls right below a food truck you find in any corner. Anyhow the hunt for real asada is on. read more

Was in the area and did a search on Yelp for highest rated places, and Taco Brother kept popping up there. What caught my eye were those Lily's Fries. So I made my way to the red trailer in the parking lot of a gas station. Guy was pretty nice and patient with me, as he walked me through the top sellers. The beef and chorizo mixed taco, and the Al Pastor. I then asked about Lily's Fries - he said "oh yes" - - it's popular, he makes the queso from scratch, he's very proud of it. So we put in our order for those 3 items. Food came out pretty quickly, and I loved his tacos. The meat was very flavorful, and it's crispy from the griddle, tasted so good. And he's got 3 salsas - the green is the usual what you see - it's pretty awesome. The red is flavorful, and he also has a dark red hot diablo sauce - wow. I was really happy with those tacos and highly recommend. The Lily's Fries were prety awesome. He told me he changed up the recipe - making it more colorful, adding in the red and yellow peppers, and it has pulled pork in there. But that queso he puts in there - wow - it's so very good! You mix it all together and it's like an awesome plate of hearty fries full of flavor - a party in your mouth. Price is about $11-13 I think - but the quality and taste is really good, and there's nothing else out there (that I know of) that's like it. Service was friendly and prompt. When I'm down in this area - I'm going to make this a regular stop. read more

When we visit my sister in Texas, we obviously have to get good Mexican food. My fiancé came across this spot on Yelp and HAD TO HAVE IT. This is definitely authentic, with options for those who don't actually like authentic. I got the fajita plate and it was loaded down. So much food! The rice was meh but everything else was delicious. Tortillas were fresh and homemade. My fiancé got a couple tacos and said all the meat was phenomenal. The prices seemed super fair too. There is a nice shaded place to sit, plenty of parking, and a gas station and liquor store next door for any beverage-related needs. This was the best taco food truck I tried in Austin. The prices are a little higher compared to competition but that's because portions are larger. Still extremely affordable. Fast service. Friendly. And definitely hooked it up with the salsa and limes! I got the steak quesadilla (huge), chicken fajita plate (enough for 2), and 4 steak tacos (this is necessary). Everything was delicious. This place rocks. Great prices (see pic), great portions (see pics), bacon is a plenty (see pics), and the taste is just right (sorry, can't taste a pic). I got two breakfast tacos with bacon, egg, cheese, and potatos. They are made to order so you have a minute to relax in their little shaded seating area with tables or grab a drink at Brodies Market in the same spot (I recommend their locally sourced fresh raw Kombucha in the very back right cooler). They season light, potatos are chunky but soft to the bite, not mashed. They have regular, mild, and hot salsa sauce and a spicy verde sauce for an extra kick. The cheese is my favorite type, ooey gooey, and lots. I got it on a freshly made that morning flour tortilla. It comes hot, so let it cool a minute, you've been warned. Place is pretty good. Have had only breakfast tacos. They are huge. It's great value. 2 fill you up. It's not like blow your mind good and I wish the egg to meat ration was more toward meat, but they have nice flavor. They hit the spot. The green salsa is fire though.
