This place is just around the corner from where my friend lives in downtown (the touristy/shopping part) of Cabo. We had just gotten off our flight and needed a snack ASAP. We ordered the 4 taco and beer special which seemed excessive, except that these are the TINY tacos. I don't think the tortillas were handmade, sadly, but they hit the spot. My wife and I have been back to Cabo several times since my last review and usually make a stop at Taco Loco. I'm glad to say that our visit today was just as enjoyable as all our previous visits. The atmosphere is casual and real. Staff are attentive, friendly, and bilingual. The food is made to order and delicious. Salsas and condiments are self serve and located on the side of the kitchen. The majority of customers seem to be locals, at least half of the output while we were there was take out- locals dropping by on the way home to get dinner. read more

We hit this place every time we are in Cabo. It is off the crazy harbor scene, on a side road, in a bunch of kiosks, a short walk off the cruise ship dock. My grilled fish taco was delicious as was the made to order guacamole sans onions because I am allergic to them, sadly. No language problem here. They have Bohemia cervezas, but if you need a mixed drink, there is an open air bar right next to the tables of this place. A covered salsa bar is available on the side. Extremely low priced but fun. The chicken taco and chicken quesadilla lacked flavor, even when dressed up with toppings. The chicken in them was chewy and hard to eat. Two of us ended up taking the chicken out and not eating it. The chicken mole was tasty though. Service was okay. Tables were clean. The mariachi band came to play at our table, but we politely declined and they went on their merry way to the next table. There were 2 tables there with locals so perhaps this restaurant is actually very good if you know what to order. read more

The food was great! This was exactly what we wanted! This was no "gourmet" "touristy" spot, it was REAL Mexican fish tacos! We had two orders of the 4 tacos & 1 beer for $9 deal! You get the choice of beef, chicken, fish, or pork. They had other things on their menu, but you can't beat 4 tacos and a beer for $9. The place is next to various souvenir shops, and a bar located in the center of the little plaza that had 9 tequila shots for $12, their restrooms are clean and stocked. For the vegan in paradise, this is a very authentic feeling restaurant that serves meat but also has vegan and vegetarian options. The service was a little slow considering there weren't very many people there at the time but the veggie tacos were worth the wait! The mushrooms were grilled to perfection, a touch smoky and full of flavor! We ordered the guacamole and chips, the portion was generous and the guacamole delicious! We ordered a side of beans which thankfully they don't prepare with lard. The rice is vegan as well. Our dinner companions are omnis and they were very happy with their meals. I have been to A LOT of taco joints in Cabo. I have walked past this busy place 100s of times without stopping. Yesterday, I stopped. Greeted immediately and server recommended the 4 tacos and a beer. I ordered 2 beef and 2 Pastor tacos and a Dos Equis. Ambiance is nice. Very traditional decor. After about 6-7 minutes (not too bad) my food arrives. The beef looked dry and the Pastor looked "creamy". Almost saucy. I was directed to the Salsa bar where there was a great selection of condiments. Radish, jalapeño, dry coleslaw, creamy coke slaw, pico, and a selection of salsas. Problem was, the salsa were not marked for temperature. I like a little kick, but don't want to be thrown on my butt. I jazzed up the tacos and proceeded to munch. Taco 1- good. Taco 2- good. Taco 3 (beef)- first bite is 100% grissel. Spitting out food in front of others is embarrassing. But it was terrible. I went to taco 4 (Pastor) - good. I was a little bummed. Grissel kind of takes the wind out of your sail. Even without the tough meat, the tacos were not "great" compared to local options. To their credit- their fish tacos looked outstanding (I did not try one though). I also say the chicken tacos- looked dry like the beef. Overall, if it is 2am and you need a quick fix, stop in. If you have time to explore a bit more- explore. read more

We found this little outdoor bar (called MCO) on our way to Cabo Wabo, and turns out this place was way better! Cabo Wabo was overpriced and couldn't seat a group, so we ended up going here. The pina coladas were delicious and cheap, the bartenders were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was festive. We were serenaded my mariachi singers, and everyone had a great time. read more

We stopped here on our vacation to Cabo. It's a great inexpensive taco spot close to the marina and mall. It's like a hidden gem. In addition, they offer pasta, which I thought was different. The margaritas were very strong! One made me feel good! I love that they offer grilled vs breaded fish and shrimp. While you are sitting outside there are many bands playing live music for you. We found this lil Hole in the wall spot on a whim walking by. And boy let me tell you it did not disappoint! We ordered a beer battered fish taco and one beer battered shrimp taco. Doesn't look like much when they give it to you on a plate. Literally just a piece of meat on a corn tortilla, then they tell you to go to their mini salad bar where you dress you taco. That's when the magic happens. There's like 3 different salsas to choose from, mild to spicy. I lathered mine up with extra sour crème Mayo whatever that white sauce was and a bunch of lime and their cold slaw. The tacos were BOMB. Tasted crunchy and fresh. I also got a horchata. It was sweet and not super thick. Which I like. Don't order their sangria. There's not much to it. No fruit. It's straight up tarty wine with some tarty lemon juice at the bottom. Unless your into that type of stuff. Fun ambiance because it's outdoor and there's an open outdoor bar right next to it which plays good music and is very lively. Also best part was for 6 tacos and 2 drinks. The total came out to be $20 usd! What a steal compared to other taco places. read more

Not sure what the hype was around this place... Bland beans and rice. Plain flavored meats (except the shrimp and garlic). Steak fajitas was pretty good and the spicy sauce for the chicken wings were pretty good but the wings themselves and were mostly skin. Homeboy taking our order was barely paying attention to us when actually taking our orders. I know he was busy, but was talking to another waiter while "taking " our order. Asked me to repeat myself 3xs. Decent prices. GRATUITY IS ALREADY INCLUDED IN YOUR CHECK!! It took us a little bit to figure out what we were missing when calculating our check and how to split the bill, etc, and we finally asked if there was gratuity. Just another spot along tourist boulevard downtown to get you to pick them. I'll pick a different spot that the locals actually go to next time I'm down here. Finally found a fish taco that my bff liked and that I liked. The special is 4 tacos with a beer for only $8. You can choose from chicken, pastor, asada & battered fish. The great thing about it is their fixings bar which has all the salsa & cabbage & veggies & crema sauce. You can make your tacos just the way you like it. Taco Loco is a must have in Cabo! Service: Servers are extremely accommodating for anything that the customer may need. I came to this restaurant with a party of 9, and they were willing to combine 2 tables so that we would be able to sit together in one group. Food: Tacos are exceptional, but a bit small. If you are a big eater, I would recommend getting 4 tacos. I got 2 and my stomach was not quite satisfied when I was done. The rice is very good, but a bit flavorless. I strongly recommend adding some salsa to the rice to add the flavor that it needs. The beans are very good. Perhaps the best item on their menu are the nachos! You have the option between chicken and beef nachos. I decided to have the beef and I was not disappointed in any way what so over! Overall, this is a pretty good establishment with plenty of party life surrounding it. Food was not amazingly good, but still decent. Horchata was bomb! But.... the food was disappointing :( I am far from picky and this was far from authentic Mexican food. The Chile relleno was soggy and the chicken sope was no good, the chicken breast was boiled and cut into chunks, and no flavor. Good tacos at good prices with good service. Wanted some good tacos within walking distance of the cruise ship, and found Taco Loco. We were hungry and ordered a lot of food! we started with the queso fundido. Very good with the fresh chips, but could have used a bit more chorizo. We tried the asada, chicken, and al pastor tacos. They were all good, but the asada was my favorite. We also had a chicken quesadilla, which was bigger than expected, and full of cheese. (Not sure what kind it was, but it was different than what I'm used to. Good, but different. Creamier maybe?) Nice variety of salsa too, in a range of spice levels. The hottest one was a bit too hot for me, but the other red one and the green were just right in my book. Good stuff! read more
