This past Thursday my wife had a craving for Mexican food and we decided to pass by Taco Rico located across the street from Tropical Park. Here you will find classic Mexican dishes and we ordered our usual chip with guacamole, a steak burrito and I finally got my chance to try Birria tacos. The chips and guacamole were good and fresh and I liked how the guacamole was placed on tortilla cup. The steak burrito was also good stuffed with good portion of steak, rice, pico de gallo, and beans. The star of the show were the birria tacos which are fried corn tortillas stuffed with beef. Been meaning to try this place for some time and today was finally the day! We had the queso and chips and two orders of Birria tacos. They serve a generous amount of queso to the point they brought us some more chips and we still couldn't finish it! Perfectly salted & crunchy. The veggies in the pico was fresh and had the right amount of lime. We both got the Baja bowl. Mine was steak, his chicken. Before I ever added the salad dressing it was delicious! Every aspect of the bowl was seasoned, the flavors and textures blended perfectly together. The steak was tender and easy to chew!! Great good, great service!! The atmosphere is so chill (unless they're slammed, then it's hard to find a seat!!) but once you secure your seat you're in for a good time!! Pretty good food as far as Miami goes. Everything tastes fresh and good quality. Fast service and great selection of salsas. The inside is nothing to brag about, it's borderline fast food and it shows. This isn't a bad thing, it suits the place. The biggest thing for them is the parking situation in this lot. I was disappointed by Taco Rico for the first time last night. We ordered take out and everyone else was happy with their meal, except me. I ordered the Vegan Burrito with cheese added. I placed an order via Uber Eats or Postmates. (Same thing) It was a fairly large order. About $70 This order was dinner for my staff. Everyone's food was hot and great, but when I bit into my taco, I felt something hard, crunchy and it just didn't feel right. I chose to go with tacos... chicken, meat, beans... $1.00 each (really good deal) and they were fresh and good quality. I tried different sauces as well. Pico de Gallo was nice, green tomatillo sauce delicate yet flavorful. The best for me was the super hot... which to me was just right. Not to overpowering, and I mixed it with the Pico... perfect. I was in the area and decided to stop by and check this place out since my husband and I were hungry and he loves Mexican food. I was in a hurry so ordered take out. Food was ready in 10 mins which worked out great because I was worried I wouldn't make it on time to my next destination. It was plenty of time to take a sample of each and every one of their salsas on display. We had the following: -Chicken quesadilla= good but it was only chicken and cheese with a side of sour cream. It needed a bit of something else but I still devoured it. -Taco Platter= went with the beef and it was tasty. Came with a side of yellow rice and beans. -Jalapeño Poppers= love! I usually eat these with ranch but they didn't have any so I dipped them in some sour cream. They have appetizers, soups, salads, bowls, platters, kids menu and desserts. They have a T.V inside and they were playing the heat game so I was entertained. My bf and I devoured our food as soon as I got home. So far I really love this location. I try to find places that are keto friendly. This one certainly fits the mold. They have a delicious fajita salad that is great with chicken or steak and I keep on coming back for more. It comes with guac!!! go figure it's not extra. They have a vast option of other types of Mexican food which will satisfy any pallet. They also have a lot of different drinks to choose from though I tend to stick to the fountain soda. You can accumulate points with five star which is great as I earned a free soda after my second visit. The place is very clean and the location is Central. The only thing I notice is that they have the salsa right by a juice machine and the heat kind of projects onto the salsa but other than that it's fantastic and I highly recommend it.
