Working in Terre Haute and this is my go to when I come to town. Love this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The people are great, the food is always delicious, the atmosphere is always comfortable, there is no real noise level which is super nice after working all day and all you want to do is have a couple beers and some really great food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Looking for a great Mexican meal in Terre Haute, Indiana? Check out Taco Tequila's located near Indiana State University! I ordered the Fajita Tequilas with steak, chicken, and shrimp served with rice & beans. The meat was seasoned to perfection and the vegetables were noticeably fresh. The chips are light and the salsa is mild and smooth. The prices are affordable. Staff was friendly and quick. Highly recommend this Mexican restaurant in Terre Haute!

Tacos and margs with the bestie ! We found ourselves at Taco Tequila's Mexican Grill & Cantina last night ! I got the beef skirt tacos and a strawberry margarita ! There wasn't much of a strawberry taste in my drink... My friend and I joked that they gave me her share of the tequila. But the tacos were to die for ! Very flavorful. Spiced perfectly and cooked well. The staff was very friendly and the environment was clean. We didn't have to wait long for our food at all !

    Tilapia Veracruz was amazing

This place is a little off the highway, if you're traveling but it's so worth it. We ordered the seafood soup, tilapia veracruz and the Carne asada street tacos. Everything was excellent but the tilapia was the best I've ever had. The restaurant is clean and the service was impeccable. We were also able to eat outside which was a nice break from being in the truck.

Nice somewhat new spot in Terre Haute - good food and good margaritas, not expensive, with friendly service in a nice location.

Best Mexican food in Terre Haute! It's downtown, so parking can be tough sometimes.. but it's worth the trouble.

I was really craving Mexican food, and I decided to try a new spot. The food sounded good, and I liked the description of the nachos, so I ordered them and decided to add on a side of Mexican street corn. It was ok. First off, the corn was very overcooked. Small kernels. Very juicy, but not in a good wat. I took about 2 spoonfuls and pretty much tossed the rest. The nachos were not very good. I know this was a delivery and I have to make concessions for some saturation making the chips not as crunchy, but even the chips they gave me on the side were very thin and oily and would never hold up in a nacho setting. The meat (carnitas) was very dry and stringy. The guacamole lacked seasoning as did the rice and beans. And, the salsa had a pulled-from-the-refrigerator flavor. I maybe ate a third of the nachos and then tossed those out as well. I did not eat any of the chips and salsa after the initial taste. I was really bummed as I had hoped for a good meal, but I won't be trying this restaurant again and will try others next time I am in town.

My 3 star is simply because the ambiance of this place could use a massive face lift (new paint,…read morebetter upholstery on chairs, etc). But when you get a bill of $30 for 3 people during the late lunch hour (what a steal!), and for value, this place is a 5 star. Twice, I have dined here, both for a late lunch with my parents after visiting the Catmosphere across the street. Juan C was our server both times and he was very kind to my older parents, thank you for that Juan. Although my dad and I order standard items from the menu, my mom needs simply a plain ground beef burrito with cheese and nothing else. Like nothing...tortilla, beef, cheese, nothing else on the plate please. Basic. Juan delivered and adjusted the price accordingly. For Terre Haute, this Mexican food is pretty OK....not great...but pretty good. Juan the server was authentically nice. In the footprint of a former bank, this place is decoratively a mismatch of many things. A mismatch of colors, bank relics, chair fabrics, flooring, parking lot is odd.... It is what it is. Bathrooms could use a remodel, cashier area seems odd, front entrance area cramped. So with that, Mis Tres Potrillios is a 3, but I would go back. Support the local guy. (new paint

Despite the menu's warning of "authentic Mexican takes time, please be patient", our food arrived very quickly. I cannot recommend d this place enough

We tried quesabirria which was good too. Definitely ask for the house salsas- habanero and green options, as these really make the tacos. The "Americanized" chips and salsa were good but average. Worth the trip for good tacos and salsa. Do not expect a peaceful or fancy environment. There are a few booths, it's connected to a small store, and the employees, while efficient at their jobs, are loudly playing music and videos on their phones competing with the music playing through the store speakers.

Super tacos means with sour cream, cheese, and pico and it makes them impossible to close and challenging to eat. If you gotta have those things on your taco, you won't be disappointed, but the regular tacos are probably fine. The tortillas are good and the meat is tasty, this is definitely the thing to order here. Pupusas was interesting but probably wouldn't order it again, kind of like a tortilla pancake with meat stuffing. Chicken empanada was ok, needs some kind of dipping sauce. Breading was soft but and seemed baked instead of fried, which gave it a unique texture. The tamales are huge! Didn't get to try one, but if you're into that they look great. Chips were a little stale, red salsa was ok, they do have a habanero sauce that's great on the tacos. Overall, it's cheap and good, nice and casual, I'll be back.

My food was really good and was a large portion. I opted for the nachos. The cheese was melted on the tortilla chips, and everything tasted fresh.
