Yum! Eat here! It's new in the area, it took over Burrito Loco last year. I live and work in the area. A few clients have recommended the place. Well, tonight was the night to try it! The decor is cute: oil cloth tablecloths with brightly colored fruit on it, murals of Mexico. There's a tiny bar tucked off the entrance that seats four, tightly. They brought out complimentary chips n salsa. We proceeded to order a feast for two people: a side of guac, 5 street tacos (good size!), Steak de Baha (especial $12), an El Escape Del Chapo margarita and a lime jarritos. The food was quick and fresh! They had a wide assortment of tacos. We chose pastor (BBQ pork), chorizo con papa, pollo con mole, and Barbacoa. They also had egg and cactus and other options. Everything was delicious! The corn tortillas were fresh and must have been made in-house. We were stuffed! I can't wait to return and try the chile relleno. The service was great and friendly. I never do this but I had to write to tell you what a terrible dinner I was served by this establishment. We waited for 45 minutes for our meal and could not eat more than 2 bites. It was terrible. Both our dinners were inedible and we asked to speak to a manager. The waitress only said sorry but did not offer for any discount or even comp our appetizer. She asked if we wanted to take the rest home. WHY, it was terrible tonight and it would be worst tomorrow. Maybe if the waitress offered a discount or something, I would not, but really, both plates went back to the kitchen not eaten. I came here for lunch after visiting the Swanson's nursery. There was an ongoing Groupon offer that needed 3 visits so I didn't go for it since I don't know when I would be coming back to the area. The waitresses were very friendly and offered us chips and salsa immediately after we we're seated. We ordered Chicken Chimichanga and three tacos-camarones, pescado and chicken fajitas. The portion sizes were huge!! I should have just ordered camarones and pescado(fish) since they were really good and I was full eating just those two. The Chimichanga was really good. They have lots of specials like $6 Margaritas and sangrias whole day Sunday and Saturday respectively. The decor gave a typical mexican vibe-colorful and inviting. It was very disappointing! If they can't make the food within the time, please don't take any more orders. We have to wait for two hours for our take our food. Are you kidding me? We have been seen customers have to left because of the same problems. Therefore, the food is very salty. Always wanted to try this place but do notttt go here. My boyfriend and I waited to be greeted to find a spot to sit and the only bar seats that were open but only some made eye contact while other employees did not even look at us. We waited for a bit then another couple came in and they were greeted and seated at the only seats quite quickly. The couple did not even acknowledge that we were the only other people waiting and the employee at the bar did not even look at us. This is the place you go to drink til you can't taste how bad the tacos are. This place has a spring break in Mexico vibe, strong drinks, cheap beer, and not very good food. My advice, start you night here with some drinks and move on to dinner somewhere else. read more

All right people if you haven't been here it's a must!!! First of all can't go wrong with home made tortillas for ur tacos!!! The tacos looked like an amazing pice of art and the tacos are very well portioned. The place is small and cozy the services was amazing, and they even had horchata :). They also had agua de tamarind and guava you got to try it. For the party animals they did have a bar. It's a limited menu but every thing looked delicious. They know what they are good at. They had ran out of certain things for the day wish told me, the food is delicious and that they were busy. I hope my pictures can do this place justice. read more

I recently came here and was not overly impressed. It's nice to have a Seattle restaurant offer complimentary chips and salsa although the salsa didn't taste fresh and tasted ketchupy. The chips didn't taste like they were made in house, either. I got sopes al pastor (thick, fried tortillas topped with the works) and the al pastor was a lot different than I've ever had. It almost felt like they cooked it on a stove with thick sauce instead of shaving it off of a vertical broiler. It tasted decent. 5 stars for the jalapeño margarita, though. I've had many that didn't taste spicy enough, and this one had the perfect kick as well as a good amount of tequila. I'll try this place again, but I'll definitely order a different kind of meat. read more

The last time we had Tacos & Beer we ordered take out. The barbacoa was very tough and the chicken tortilla soup was heavy and greasy. Every item we ordered was extremely greasy. The barbacoa was a huge disappointment compared to how good it has been in the past. I emailed the restaurant to tell them about these issues and never heard back. I would go back for drinks and happy hour but that's probably about it after our most recent experience and after not hearing any response from the restaurant. It seems like they would be receptive to constructive feedback when every entree from our order was subpar compared to what we have eaten in the past. Really too bad. Small little gem that has $3 Dos Equis on happy hour which is all I need to be attracted to any place. the regular non happy hour tacos are a good size so 2 should suffice with beans and rice. If you only get happy hour tacos get 3 or 4 so you are nice and full. The asada needs a little less fat and the carnitas were ok. Chips and salsa were also tasty. I was originally put off by the straight forward sign out front "Tacos and Beer" because I suspected a hipster trap. But one day I was desperate and in the neighborhood so the hubs and I tried it. We're so happy we did! Small but good selection of beers and solid food. Total opposite of the overpriced hipster nonsense I expected. Their mole is delicious and for gringo food the chimichanga is to die for. It's not the cheapest option in town but it's good enough to keep us coming back. Came here because the outside sign is intriguing "Tacos & Beer" and I came in for just that. Started with the Michelada (a kind of Mexican twist on a Bloody Mary) and two chorizo sopes. Both pretty good. The best part came next, my favorite Mexican beer (Sol) and three tacos. Tacos don't come with rice or beans? Not to worry, you don't need them. The tacos were jammed packed on double tortillas like my dad eats them. The asada one came with whole pinto beans the way mom cooks them and small pieces of potato. The al pastor tacos were also great, packed with meat and chunks of pineapple. Still trying to find the best of the best al pastor tacos in the Seattle area though. Ordered a side of avocado for the tacos and that sealed the deal! Happy Hour prices are reasonable, give them a shot if you like Mexican. read more
