California girl here, so Mexican food has a special place in my heart and is often hard to find here in Las Vegas. I came across this spot on DoorDash and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the carne asada burrito and chicken mulitas. On the app it forced me to choose a topping for the mulita even though I wanted it plain, so I was a little nervous since I was ordering for a picky eater. I added a note asking them not to include onions--and they actually followed it (bless them!). The food was delicious, super satisfying, and exactly what I was craving. This is our new favorite taco shop in town. It's close to us and the asada is top notch. I often pick up on flavors I don't like with carne asada (like the meat flavor not spices), a the asada here is really good. Solid tacos and we all have recently been getting the Mulitas. They're like mini quesadillas with meet, onion/cilantro, salsa and guacamole and omg they're so tasty. Definitely get one next time They also have a great green salsa. This is a small location but in my opinion, the small locations are the ones that are usually more authentic! My husband and I get their carne asada burritos often! They serve generously and the burrito is nothing less than flavorful! It has a little spice to it so ask for a little salsa If you don't like it too hot! If you want an authentic Mexican spot, try this place! They offer a lot more options such as tacos, mulitas, quesadillas, tortas, caldo de res, caldo de Camaron, mole, etc. but we've only tried the burritos and tacos which we enjoy! I've also never dined in. I place an order over the phone and our food is ready within 15 minutes for us to pick up. The cook and the cashier are always extremely friendly and professional! There isn't much parking but I've never had an issue being able to find a place to park. People come and go often as there is other businesses in the little area they are located. read more

Located on Tropicana and Mtn Vista area very small taco shop, but they have three locations. They said that the top sellers are tacos of Carne Asada, Mulitas and quesadillas. Today I will review 1 Taco Carne Asada. Not gonna lie, the meat is super moist and juicy. Salas is full of flavor, but not overly hot. I only tried the green one. Mood- What food is Calgon for the Soul So this day was already starting out rough. My alternator blew up and I had to be escorted down the ramp to the nearest parking lot. Now how amazing does life work, that the parking lot was right across the street from this restaurant. The universe gave me tacos to soothe my mind. Upon entering was quickly greeted and asked if I had any questions. I had none as the aroma was sensational. If I could have ordered one of everything I may have been inclined to do so. I opted for 8 of the Carne Asada Tacos. The gentleman being the counter asked if I wanted everything on them. I laughed and said well isn't that how it is supposed to be. He cracked up and laughed and said Muy Bien. At this point I knew it was going to be on point. Now can I say these were amazing. 100%. Can I say the meat was tender and very flavorful. 100% . Can I say maybe I didn't really share my tacos. Most def!!!! Interior is a great size. There are several seating arrangements. Music was playing in the background. I've been inside the restaurant eating and I just hear the phone ring and he won't even bother answering , the times that I've seen it the restaurant wasn't even busy that's how I know he chooses not to answer . Really enjoyed their tacos. Came here on a Sunday night to try their food. I really loved the flavorful asada. I could really taste the nutmeg in it. I also liked that the tacos were each double wrapped. The plate comes with five of them. The staff was wearing masks and the place seemed clean. After clients left they rapidly went and cleaned off the booth. It's nice to see businesses take care of their clients. The inside is small to medium sized. Each booth is spaced out appropriately. This is done by the adjacent booth being closed. The interior is casual and nice. I can't wait to try their other menus when I come back. read more

What a great find! Driving around running errands and we come across this small taco joint last week. This place is probably the most authentic Mexican taco joint in the valley. (‍In my opinion) We have only tried the carne asada tacos, El Pastor tacos and the green chili verde. Today 10/26/18 we've come back for more! Got the green chili verde again because it is #AMAZING!! The pork is so tender it melts in your mouth. We ordered the carne asada again. Why? because they take the time to cook the meat on an open flamed grill to give the meat the little char that makes the tacos amazing. If you're craving menudo, come to this place and you'll never be disappointed. It's cheap but very, very good. It has a lot of tripes and some tendon. It's all meat and doesn't even have a single hominy! We also tried ricas cemitas which we really liked. Lots of meats and big chunk of avocado. The guy at the counter was nice and friendly. The only thing we didn't like was the smell of Pine-Sol. We came in when the restaurant was about to open, and I guess they just cleaned the tables and the smell hadn't dissipated? Ife A. was right. This place is legit. If you pay attention when driving around, you've probably noticed that there are little taquerias all over town. Tacos El Compita #3 is one place that I've passed several times on the way to the nearby Cardenas. This taco shop is across the street from the Q Mall Swap Meet and is across the side street from the slightly more well-known Mariscos Vallarta. It's most likely the diamond in the rough of this tiny plaza, which otherwise merely has a check cashing place, a smoke shop, and a cakes-only bakery. This is certainly a hole in the wall, but it has plenty of seating and is pretty clean. The employee at the register today speaks fluent English, which you can't take for granted at these joints. Most importantly, the food is awesome, the meats are plentifully portioned, and the cuisine is certainly not at all Americanized. I finally did the math just now and realized that most of the tacos are the same price ($1.39) no matter if you pick the plate of 5 tacos or if you get one taco each. That's really cheap! I wanted to try six of their eight taco meats anyway, and they were still able to fit them all on the same plate. All of their tacos are served on two tortillas, which is standard, and come with a modest amount of salsa, cilantro, and onions. More of those are available at the condiment bar, which also includes jalapenos, surprisingly spicy pickled onions, pico de gallo, and lime wedges. The lengua was my first taste, and it was one of my favorites. It's super tender and flavorful here, and it's only priced 25 cents higher than the other meats. I also enjoyed the buche about as much as my other recent favorite buche. It's fried and also bursts with flavor. The al pastor of El Compita is actually not served with pineapples. The employee said that they don't even have pineapple because it's simply not the recipe that they use. But I was converted after the first bite, which had tasty meat and marvelous caramelized onions. I couldn't stuff the rest of the taco in my mouth fast enough after that. The tripas was quite good, although I'll have to ask for them to make it a little more crunchy next time before giving my final verdict. The cabeza wasn't overly impressive, especially since I tried it just after the lengua, but I'd probably get it again also. The asada was my least favorite, but it was still enjoyable aside from the lack of other accoutrements such as guacamole that you'll find at some taquerias. Overall, I was very happy with my tacos, so I'll certainly return to Tacos El Compita #3. Maybe I'll even venture into other parts of their menu, which includes mulitas, tortas, and a few different Mexican stews. read more
