Tacos El Ultimo Baile mostly operates as a pop up at Humble Sea Brewing in Alameda on Saturdays. I wish their brick and mortar was open so I could get these delicious tacos all the time. My waist and wallet would hate me though. I was introduced to Tacos El Ultimo Baile at an A's game as the supplied hungry fans free tacos at the reverse boycott last summer. I went to show monetary support at a pop up and have been hooked on brisket tacos ever since. All of the meat offerings are delicious, but my favorites are brisket, chile colorado, pastor and now rib. The corn tortillas are good, but the fresh flour tortillas make my mouth water every time. Start time for the pop up can vary, but for these tacos, it's worth the wait. The owner, Dominic, also does catering so go check him out!

I was able to get the last vegetarian burrito of the day! Felt super lucky and as did my tummy. I've never had jamaica cooked as a meat substitute before but it was DELICIOUS. Kinda similar to people who use jackfruit, it has a similar texture but honestly a better bite to it. My partner got four tacos that he inhaled and honestly loved. Also there's a self serve salsa/toppings bar which is amazing. There's a few tables inside and also a cute outdoor patio to snack on your tacos and hangout! Definitely come and give this place a try if you can and even more so if you're not a meat eater!!

Tacos El Ultimo Baile opened where Nyum Bai was. infrastructure basically the same. indoor dining and outdoor seating. ordering is done inside. pay. food brought to table. mexican music in background. inside dining seating area is cramped. offerings (limited): tacos, vampiros, lorenzas, pozole menudo, sangria, beer, eats: menudo (12) -nice smooth texture with tender pieces of tripe and plenty of hominy. came with 2 corn tortillas, dried veggies, chili pods. can customize with fresh condiments from salsa bar. nice comfort food. asada/pastor handmade maiz tacos @4, flour +1. -not all choices were available -salsa bar inside near door, self garnished with onions, limes, radish, green salsa. -proteins were moist, tender, not overgrilled. 4.5 stars limited menu, not everything posted. take outs: -table was wobbly, outside seating mostly in the shade. -dining experience al fresco. inside spacing too confined.

In my hunt to find the best Mexican spots in Oakland, I've named a top contender in Tacos El Ultimo Baile! While they only offer a small menu, there's nothing simple about their food. Amazing fresh meat (al pastor and pollo were both incredible) tasty homemade tortillas, and an awesome salsa bar with, believe it or not, guacamole! You gotta get at least one taco as a vampiro taco as they come with a layer of melted cheese underneath the meat! Can't wait to return to try their birria tacos/bowls and tamales!

Like it's predecessor Nyum Bai, Tacos El Ultimo Baile is an unassuming gem. There were a few small groups of people outside, not really a line. Ordering was straight forward. Really enjoyed what I got, almost went back for more. * Vampiros with carne asada on flour tortilla: I wanted to try both types of tortillas (fish taco came on corn). Good portion, textures, and flavor. * Fish taco: delicate but didn't fall apart. Want to come back, particularly to try the brisket, Chile Colorado, and catch a Panadería Matilija pop-up if I'm lucky.

I read somewhere ultimo baile was planning to occupy Nyum Bai's departed location. During our tacos dinner search one day, we just so happen to be driving down 12th st and noticed they were open. We figure, why not grab dinner here. Parking is a little tight in the area but it's possible are you drive around a bit. The menu that day was a bit limited but they did have tacos. Tried the al pastor, asana and chorizo. It's a buck more if you want flour tacos. As we're waiting, there are plenty of seats to chill as you watch the entertainment available on their TV screens. There is a self serve condiments station offering onions, cilantro, pickled jalapenos, pineapple and an assortment of salsas. Tacos were ready to chown down did we then realize the station was necessary. The tacos are served naked so you decorate them to your preference. The flour tacos is a comforting plus and all the meats were flavorful. Great place to hangout and have some tacos. Be sure to get dessert at the churro stand nearby.

Congrats on the new spot! A few things I want to mention 1-Customer service has never been the best. From my experience, every time I visited the food truck, it was not the best. Almost like they were doing ME a favor, and just not happy at all. Weird. Now at the new location, same thing. Which I prioritized to check it out seeing how I no longer live in the bay. The guy taking orders didn't even say Hi. I would think that if this is a recently opened spot, huge accomplishment, that the staff would be in a great mood, and welcoming. Maybe they're just welcoming to their regulars/friends/family? Idk. Either way not the case with me. So, in terms of customer service-I'd give it a below average. Be prepared for that. I had steak tacos. Love the handmade tortillas. The meat, could use a bit more seasoning. I added a lot more salsa to sub the lack of flavor. I might come back if I'm in the area. I don't think I'd go out of way though.

I think my old review was eaten by Yelp, or a new business was created for the newish brick and mortar. Anyway, run, drive, bart, whatever, from all over the Bay for the best tacos you'll have. Everything is really good, from the pastor (on trompo) to the vegetarian options. The only comparative place I would say is El Paisa, BUT here, Chef Dom definitely understands the need for vegetarian options- which made me and my wife very very happy. Not sure if there is a better taco place in the Bay! A worthwhile trip from anywhere!

Brisket Birria tacos- 2 on flour 2 on handmade corn

I am upset I had not had Tacos El Ultimo Baile until he got the location across from Fruitvale Bart. I have been going weekly to get my fix since. When I tell you I considered asking this man if he was single after eating the Brisket Birria tacos...I had to realize I was in love with the taco lol. The meat is so flavorful and melts in your mouth. If you get it with the flour tortillas everything with melt in your mouth and if you get the corn tortilla it will give it a little texture difference but still melt I'm your mouth. When Brisket Birria is not available I like to get Chorizo on Corn, Asada on Corn, Chicken on Flour and Pastor on Flour. The condiment bar is perfect for people like myself that hate onions. I plan to continue coming regularly and telling everyone about it and for some background my mom's entire side of the family are taqueros in Mexico so I'm particular about my tacos.

    Salsa bar selection

Without a doubt the best tacos I've had in the bay. The kind of taco where I took my first bite and all I I could say was "god damn..." Every aspect from the handmade flour tortillas, the perfectly cooked meats, and the LA style extensive salsa selection make this the perfect taco spot. $5 for a taco might seem pricey, but it is absolutely worth it, they fill these up with meat. $40 will leave two people feeling plenty full. I tried the chicken, al pastor, and carne asada. The asada had that incredible smoke grill flavor. The chicken, which is usually a pass at most places, was flavorful and juicy. The al pastor is my absolute favorite here. With every bite you get some crispy bits of pork, and it's absolutely incredible. The flour tortillas...simultaneously paper thin to where they're transparent but very sturdy and hold up well to the salsas and lime. They have a delicious lard flavor that really adds to each taco. Salsa selection is the best I've seen with self serve pickled carrots/onions/jalapeños, salsa roja and verde, GUACAMOLE, salsa macha, peppery pickled red onions, cilantro, raw onions, limes, cabbage, pineapple, and more. When I finished my meal I was already thinking about when I wanted to come back, and it's been a long time that a meal has made me feel that way.

Best tacos in Oakland! We have been following these tacos around the city since 2017 and can't get enough. They just keep getting better with time and we love the location close to Fruitvale BART, and the larger menu. The flour vampiros are my go-to, you have to get the pastor and chorizo! The fish and shrimp tacos are also fantastic. Love the salsa bar, as I like to load my tacos with onions. We took friends there yesterday for the first time and everyone had to make a second order as the first round was too good. Don't walk, RUN and get yourself some tacos!!!

1 Vamprio with Pollo. 2 tacos. 1 with Pastor, the other with asada. Get this!!!!!!
    Don D.

Really enjoyed the tacos here!!! I got the following: 2 tacos - 1 Asada, 1 Pastor 1 Vampiro - Chicken Flavors were really awesome, but what I really loved were the tortillas. Don't get me wrong, the meat tasted delicious, but the tortillas were the perfect thickness in my opinion. I prefer a thinner tortilla. The tortilla had great flavor, and with the great flavor from the meats, it was a perfect match. If you really, really, really needed to choose. I'd straight up for a couple of Vampiros. If you like melted cheese, this is the one for you. You have two choices of tortilla. Flour or corn. I'd say go for both!

We tried a variety of tacos, and everything was fresh and full of bold flavors. The standout for me was definitely the beef options and the sauces really take everything to the next level. You can tell they put a lot of thought into every component. Even the veggie tacos are incredible, not just an afterthought. Everything feels creative but still comforting at the same time. Portions are satisfying without feeling too heavy. Service was quick and friendly, and the whole experience felt easy and enjoyable. We ordered pork shoulder, chicken, and charred broccoli tacos, as well as a tostada with elote and an agua fresca. The braised pork pulled aprt tenderly to reveal the chiles that imparted their subtle flavor. The mayonnaise spread thinly across the tostada was equal parts spicy and tangy, and almost too intense if not for the corn and squash layered onto it. (Perhaps the veggies were slightly under-seasoned to balance the mayo? I was a bit underwhelmed by them.) The agua de melon was syrupy in texture with a smoothness you don't often find. If there is one caveat, it is the price tag. Get yourself two tacos and call it a light meal, otherwise the tab starts adding up!

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. The flavors are rich and laid on thick. We ordered a veggie burrito, a bean and cheese burrito with rice added, and three tacos (carne, pollo asado, and Cameron's). The carne melted in my mouth, since it was rich with rendered fat, and the tortillas were crisped around the outside to melt and seal the layer of cheese inside. Probably our best overall dish was the bean-cheese-rice burrito -- covered in their salsas and peppers -- since it balanced all the ingredients and textures. On the other hand, the veggie burrito brought the flavor, but between the crema, pico, guacamole, and cheese it ended up soggy halfway through and the tortilla threatened to come loose. The shrimp and chicken were forgettable, and the tortillas come crispy off the griddle but they are damp by the time you walk anywhere to sit. What captures the truck in a nutshell are the chips they serve, covered in a seasoning that replicates Doritos flavor. Sometimes that is exactly what you need. But you can get it elsewhere easily too.

I'd thought the place had lost its touch, but maybe it was just an off day. Today in May of 2026 I've managed to visit while it's a slow day, and I was pleasantly satisfied with my food. I ordered a Carnitas burrito, and it was just as delicious as I'd remembered it one decade ago. While I was eating the first half of my burrito I was thinking "this is good, but burritos are good.. is it better than other burritos I've had, and why?" Something is different about burritos at Tacos Sinaloa, the food reflects that of some regional tacos trucks scattered throughout the East bay, but they're very distinct in how well they're capable of doing this style of Mexican food. As I said earlier- burritos are good. I think they are good because everything tastes good together, but not all burritos are created equal. The first thing that stood out to me about my burrito was the tortilla. It's not your standard tortilla, and it's nothing extravagant, but it seemed intentional. The tortilla is softer, thinner, and it holds up, but it's not chewy. It's there and it soaks up the oils and it doesn't take away from anything. In my experience, a bad tortilla can make a burrito less enjoyable. This tortilla adds in that it's barely there and it's pleasant because it soaks up the flavors without detracting. On the insides, the beans and rice can give or take away depending on where you get your burrito from. At Tacos Sinaloa on this particular day, the beans and rice did not take away from the burrito. The pinto beans were plum and creamy, and tasted like pintos. No nonsense- they added because they didn't subtract, I could go on about grainy beans or starchy over seasoned bean liquid, but NONE OF THAT HERE. The rice had perfect texture. It almost like 'al dente', but not in a chewy way, it had just enough rice texture and didn't get in the way of the other ingredients. It was mildly seasoned with your classic Mexican rice (aromatic tomato broth like flavor). No nonsense, no unnecessary spices, not over saturated in liquid, or turned to mush. Just good simply season rice. Cheese and sour cream- Salty Mexican cheese, presumably Oaxaca or something similar. Adds little salty flavor explosions throughout the burrito. Sour cream, added tangy acidity that cuts through the fatty ness making it taste more lively. Of coarse, the lovely creaminess. If you're not having your burrito with these I'm very sorry for you. The star of the show- The Carnitas here is just done right. It's not over seasoned with anything, it just tastes like melty delicious braised pork shoulder, then fried to accentuate it with crispy mallard bits that surprise you throughout the burrito. Towards the end of my experience I came to the conclusion that what makes a Tacos Sinaloa burrito good is that its ingredients forward- each ingredient tastes good on its own, and that can't be said for all burritos. It's not a burrito for the sake of being a burrito. All the ingredients seem intentionally chosen so that none get in the way of one another. I want to say they make the meat the star of the show, but even if you were to have a bean and rice and cheese + sour crème burrito here it would be an exceptional burrito, which is a testament to their culinary philosophy. Last but not least- yes they have salsa, and of coarse it's good, and I love that they give lemon slices with your food - it's another small intentional detail that they offer lemon instead of lime. Carnitas burrito 5/5. Sinaloa overall 4/5 because of inconsistency.

The short walk after dinner ended up being nice anyway. We had reservations, although we did wait about 15 extra minutes while another party finished their meal. My family member pointed out they were enjoying drinks, so that probably added some time. The waiter was very friendly, attentive, and clearly trying to get us seated as quickly as possible. Water was brought to the table right away, and our drink order was taken promptly. I ordered the chicken salad and was pleasantly surprised to learn the mango vinaigrette dressing did not contain oils, since I personally avoid seed oils. The salad was fresh and delicious. Some of my family members ordered the buffet, which looked incredible. At first it seemed like too much food for me that day, but once I saw everything included, I started thinking maybe I should have ordered it too since it was only about seven dollars more. They brought complimentary chips, guacamole, and salsa to the table, and everything was so flavorful. The guacamole was especially delicious, and they happily refilled the chips several times. I finally understood why the restaurant is called "Los Moles" because their mole sauces are outstanding. I got to try some from my son's plate, and it definitely made me want to come back and explore more of the different mole options. They also offer vegetarian choices, which is great. Although I am very particular about cooking surfaces, my food is cooked on and in, the Mexican coffee which was heated in some type of who knows what metal, had a good flavor. It inspired me to re-create it at home. Another standout for me was the freshly made corn tortillas served with the meals. They were soft, warm, and incredibly good. Very few places that would make me.say j need to go back.for this one dish and the chicken curry was the winner for me.
