Average tacos at best! Mulitas was not the best. We ordered Cabeza, Al Pasor tacos and an Al Pastor Mulita. The mulita was average! The tortillas were undercooked and soggy/soft. There was little to no cook on the tortillas. The Al Pastor was lacking flavor. It was basically just pork and it needed salsa to give it flavor. The Cabeza meat had a great soft moist fatty texture. But the meat needed seasoning/salt!! No seasoning at all. Very simple taco shop w a self serve bar for salsa, onion/cilantro, limes and radish. In my opinion, there are many other tacos near by that are much better. I cant recommended this place for tacos. I can their price point is better than most taco places. read more

The strip of East LA surrounding Olympic Blvd is known primarily for seafood tacos thanks to Mariscos Jalisco and others, but what's less known is the fact that you've got a surprisingly bustling traditional street taco scene that comes alive late at night. I decided to hit three of these highly reviewed spots in a single night and line them up in a heads up review. Tacos El Pecas v. Tacos Los Gueros v. Los Originales Tacos Arabes de Puebla Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? El Pecas and Los Gueros are pretty similar in that they're traditional trucks with some fixings set out, and while Tacos Arabes stood out in that it was clear that an entire family was running the show, everyone was just about equal here. Some people get a bit spooked by this part of town at night, and if that's the case I'd recommend Tacos El Pecas. Tacos El Pecas: Star (1) Tacos Los Gueros: Star (1) Los Originales Tacos Arabes: Star (1) Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? You've got slightly different offerings and price points across these three taco spots. El Pecas offers mini tacos for $1.00 each, which is nice if you want some variety. Los Gueros offers standard street tacos for $1.25 each, and Tacos Arabes offers some great specialty tacos for either $2.00 or $4.00 with portions matching and exceeding the price. Good stuff all around. Tacos El Pecas: Star (2) Tacos Los Gueros: Star (2) Los Originales Tacos Arabes: Star (2) Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? It's here that the men really stood out from the boys. I liked the tacos at El Pecas. You had good but not great heated tortillas, decent meats, and a suitable mix of salsas that brought everything together. In contrast, Los Gueros must have been having an off night, because the tortillas were wet and soggy, the meats were either overcooked (pastor) or undercooked (carne asada), and the salsas were just okay. Tacos Arabes blew both out of the water, with excellent Arabe and Cecina tacos that were fantastically unique. There's a great story behind Los Originales Tacos Arabes on Netflix's 'Ugly Delicious' that I won't go into, but needless to say these were very, very good with a great almost Middle Eastern flair. We drove to eat great tacos because they had been seen on LA Best tacos review! No they are not LA's best they are lacking big time the asada not worth it. Al pastor old and Chewe over cooked. The suadero was ok passes and the birria was so so.. I will say that they need some work and lost their touch on tacos or sold the truck. Put it this way the cheese quesadilla was the best. As an outsider just visiting let me start off by saying, all of you locals are spoiled when it comes to great tacos - with that out of the way, lets get started. Working in a privately own taco shop in Puerto Vallarta Mexico when I was 16 under the watchful eye of, Socorro - my boss - complimented my tastebuds with some knowledge of what goes into a persuasive taco. The meat, salsas, garnishes, tortilla, even the ambience it creates all moils together to make sure that when you bite into that taco, more bits are to follow. Soon you'll find yourself bragging to family, friends, sightseers about a place you found, that they need to checkout for themselves to believe. I was the sightseer in this situation if you haven't gathered by know. The driver who gave us a Lyft back to our place after a long day at Disneyland asked us the usual questions in similar situations, and food spots was one of topics we tapped into. He gushed about this taco spot he knew, so before we parted ways we made sure to get the name so we could hunt it down for ourselves. After a quick search on Yelp it was a treat to know it was only a quick 5 min drive from our location. From the moment you walk in the smell and ambiance both make sure to let you know what this place is about. It mostly caters to the hard working folk who come out once the city starts getting settled in for the night, on the hunt for a good meal for a decent price. If you're one of the outliers, just on the hunt for a good taco like me, then you have struck gold. I got two al pastors and two chorizo and was pleasantly surprised to see they weren't soaked in grease. The salas will sting, but that's exactly what you should expect from a great taco spot. It's good. Scrolling grubhub on a Sunday, just decided to try it. I'm not mad at it. Tacos de birria were good, consome bomb. Burrito mojado and the torta were good too but honestly there was a lot of gristle and nasty meat parts in both the pollo and the asada and if you're the type of person who digs that or doesn't care, cool. But if you're like me and sensitive to that it can completely turn you off of eating something if you have to keep spitting out gross stuff. There are so many taco places and I had a few of them. These are definitely not dry I like that I didn't feel the need to add so much toppings. They did have good options if you did but I didn't feel the need to add a lot. I also had the quesadilla and they used my favorite cheese. Can't wait to go back and try there other items. Although their promotion is their torta and agua fresca for 4.75; their tacos are a great deal, given their flavor. This taco truck is located adjacent the Food4Less on Olympic in Boyle Heights. Its not hard to miss since it is well lit. Condiments available: Cilantro, Onions (pickled and not), 2 different salsas and guacamole sauce. Olympic ave in East LA. there's lots of competition if you've got a taco truck/stand. Tacos los Gueros ain't got nothing to worry about though. They've got some legit tacos and salsas... ooh boy those salsas, I didn't try the burrito, but their mulitas are so damn good!! I stopped here because Carnitas el Momo didn't set up shop like they said they would (I guess something came up), and Los originales Tacos Árabes is taking the night off. Tacos Tacos Tacos! Very good overall, they offer different kinds of meat. Chorizo is good here, and not under cooked like many places or too burnt. Does not release much grease that's a good thing Tripas are my favorite here, always cooked right. Not chewy and not too hard . Asada tacos are good Buche tacos are good The quesadilla is pretty good compared to other trucks. And so are the "mulitas". Which is the same as a quesadilla but with two corn tortillas just a little messier to eat, if you don't mind using a handful of napkins try them. The Tortas here are ok, I'm not a huge torta person. Burritos are good can't go wrong with the usual Asada here. This place offers good prices for great quality I say the quantity isn't bad at all. Salsas they offer the usual red and green and of course good guacamole not that water down one almost every other taco place has. My favorite is the green chile. They also have habanero sauce. Ask for some grilled onions and jalapeños if you like that stuff on your tacos,Tortas, burritos, quesadillas, or mulitas. 4 tacos and a Agua Fresh (horchata or piña) for $4.50.
