The service here was good. The inside was very clean. We ordered shrimp ceviche and split a beef burrito. I've never had the shrimp whole. I've always had it chopped with onion, cucumber and tomato. Needless to say I was disappointed. The beef in the burrito had several BIG pieces of gristle inside so once again, I was disappointed. Coming to Fort Myers on a fishing trip, I had a second goal, get some Mexican food Minnesota sorely lacks in the suburbs. People, especially locals kept highlighting Tacos Y Ceviche which happens to be two things I love. Don't be fooled by the strip mall atmosphere, Florida is a lot of strip malls. Upon entry you find a cool blend of Peruvian and Mexican food in a fun casual environment. If you haven't been to Peru, the food is a lot different that Mexican but they have a diverse menu that features seafood, empanadas, classic meat plates and Mexican favorites. We got ceviche, tacos, burritos and chips and salsa. The food was incredible, flavorful and our server had the right about of spirit to make this place a must for people in the area. This small restaurant opened recently and is quite popular already. The owners/operators of the El Gaucho Restaurants created this place and clearly know what they are doing. We stopped in for lunch and each had the Taco Al Plato which consists of 2 tacos and rice & beans. Between us we had four different tacos and all were delicious. Have not been here since the Pandemic started in Feb-Mar, 2020. Today, I swing by Tacos Y Ceviches for lunch as a reward for a two hours workout! Tacos Y Ceviches is a taqueria with a fusion of Mexican and Peruvian cuisine as the suggested by the Restaurant's name. They serve excellent tacos and ceviches here. At the last minute, I decided to have Octopus instead! Octopus is a hot dish for me, I love them grilled and the way they prepare here. They have a dish called Octopus Trio prepared with International flavors in three different way! First, Pulpo al olivo (Olive Octopus) - Peruvian edition - boiled or braised Octopus smothered with a sauce with olive and mayonnaise dressing. Second, Chimichurri or Mexican edition, uses a sauce of garlic, parsley, olive oil and vinegar. The last one, a la Provenzal, Spanish edition, serves with sauce made with wine, garlic, and olive oil. Unfortunately, they run out of Pulpo al Olivo. So, I double up on Chimichurri to make it a "Octopus Trio". A Modelo Especial Beer complements the "Octopus Trio" well with a slight aroma of herbs, faintly of hops and little bitterness! What a wonderful lunch! Now I have to workout more often to justify for more lunches at Taco Y Ceviches! read more

The restaurant gives a very local vibe, and there were other pastries and desserts to order as well. The staff was friendly and the place was clean, with hand sanitizers on every table. For lunch, I ended up spending ~$20 for an appetizer (fish ceviche on a crispy tostada), three corn tacos (chicharron, barbacoa and al pastor) with homemade sauces, homemade tiramisu in a glass dessert cup (indulgent, thick mascarpone mixture - better than most Italian restaurants) and a bottle of water. Very delish. Brightness and contrasting flavors in every bite. All around me, I hear people chattering about how "this was awesome" and I don't know what that was, but it was awesome. Looks little from outside but it's grand inside! I did not expect the variety of items on the menu and much less the exquisite taste of the food. It has the mom n pop ambiance with the flavors of a 5 star restaurant. I appreciate the quaint atmosphere and friendly service. The server was at our table multiple times explaining to us the different terms to describe the food and never got tired of talking to us. All smiles and truly cared to explain everything to us. Stopped in after landing at the airport and were on our way to Naples FL. Everything was so fresh and tasted so fresh. I had the shrimp ceviche tostados. My friends had a quesadilla and tacos. We all agreed the produce, seafood, and meats tasted so fresh and flavorful. Only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the chips that came with our guacamole were a little stale. Totally lucked into this place. We just landed at the airport and where all hungry, googled Mexican restaurants near and with 4.7 stars we thought we should try it. It was fantastic, the ceviche was the best we have ever had, they offer traditional and Peruvian cheiches, we had Peruvian, it's a must have. The burritos, are delicious also. The server was great and the interior looked brand new and spotlessly clean. We will definitely go again before we head home. Love this place i come once a week usually on monday just to get a bunch of the Hawaiian al pastor tacos with added cheese and sour cream. Not that they need cheese and sour cream but its just how i am used to eating tacos. The tacos have the most tender flavorful pork, cilantro, onions, lime, cucumber and pineapple. Trust me the combination may sound unusual to some but it is delicious! Definitely a perfect balance of sweet, salty with a little kick. Ordered tacos with the add on of cilantro, onions and cucumbers along with a burrito. They gave us corn when we ordered flour and flour when we ordered corn. This is not a difficult order, seems like they just decided themselves to send us what they wanted, not what we ordered. For $35 this was really not worth it. Tossed the fish it was like mashed potatoes fried not fish! I contacted them to give feedback and hope they learn and improve. Yes!! While on vacation in Sanibel Island recently we decided to do a day of thrifting in Ft. Myers. I read some reviews of T Y C and gave it a go. Glad we did! What they lack in service, they make up for in flavor. Everything was fresh and worthy of the trek to this strange location in a strip mall. I had a fish taco and a shrimp taco. Both were perfectly seasoned and I really loved the orange-colored sauce that was on the tacos. Not sure what was in it, but i detected a little turmeric. My dining partner had the ceviche and it was filled with scallops, calamari, shrimp... It was tangy and refreshing. We also had the guacamole and chips, and for dessert we shared a slice of irresistible Dulce de Leche cheesecake! I mean, COME. ON!! Who doesn't want to try that cheesecake?! HEAVENLY. The food was great. My husband saw another table eating something and asked what they were having - Caldo de Mariscos. It was a hot temperature seafood soup as well as a bit spicy. It came in a large bowl with shrimp, octopus and fish along with lots of veggies and a side of cilantro, onions and limes. Good thing he was hungry, it was as big enough for two. He loved it. They have a variety of options tacos, burritos, tortas, ceviche, tostada's and much more. We ordered the chicken and stake tacos with a side of hot sauces. Both tacos where full of flavor. From the customer service to the food it was AMAZING! The ceviche needs to be eaten in house, by the time we got it home the tostada was soggy, but that isn't their fault.
