I made a mistake coming here for dinner. I ordered the Orange shrimp combo and I was disappointed. The wonton soup that came with it is nothing close to what wonton soup is supposed to taste like. The fried wonton had old, dried meat and there was less than the size of the top of my pinky finger worth of meat in it. The shrimp themselves were definitely not fresh. I've tried a few chineese places around this area and this has by far been the best- the hot and sour soup is well seasoned and the crap puffs are a pretty good size compared to others. The general Tsos chicken is also pretty good read more

One of favorite things about this restaurant is that they do delivery service! It is rare to find a Chinese restaurant that actually delivers. Their service is fast and efficient! I love their House Specials Lo Mien, it's just the right flavor and it comes in a pretty big box of food! Their combination meals are just as good. I love how it would come with a side dish of soup. I ordered the Mongolian Triple- spicy. Full of flavor not to spicy just nice heat to the food. 4-5 shrimp lot of meat and chicken. Onions nice crunch, long yet good sized strains of green onion, the sauce nice and most the spice comes from that so i am assuming the added chili oil. The fried rice desires more, its just plain fried rice no vegetables or anything added. It is not that i ordered the food for the rice, and i don't ever expect much from the rice they included. It would be nice to have an awesome rice that accompanied this meal but they consolation prize is the left over sauce from the meal is a nice topping for the rice or just add the rice to it and it becomes great dish. read more

This restaurant was owned by 2 brothers and there are 2 taipei Express,when it first open,the food is decent,I even spoke to one of the owners. They have genuine chefs from Taiwan in the kitchen. Then it starts going downhill,chicken wings 6 pieces-they just chopped up the wing tip and the upper drumnette and turn them into 2 pieces ,so voila ,they turn 3 chcken wings into 6 pieces. Once I ordered hot and sour soup and they ran out of tofu.so there is hardly any tofu in the soup. They used to haev nice large gulf shrimp for their shrimp in lobster sauce,now they just use medium farm raised shrimp. Running a restaurant is hard work,you lose your chef,help does not show up for work,so owner ended up doing all the work. I have visited this establishment multiple times within the past few months as it is in close proximity to my neighborhood. To sum my experiences up, I have to conclude that Taipei Express is nothing short of a mediocre Chinese restaurant. I have only had a few menu items and I have to say that there are many items that you should indeed stay away from. the pan-fried dumplings possessed a profusion of under-cooked dough with an infinitesimally small amount of meat. The orange chicken and sesame chicken combos were honestly acceptable if you have a craving for the distinct paradigmatic flavor that these types of places tend to offer. Another menu item that I would like to incorporate in this review would be that of the party wings. This menu item has been on and off for me. One day the wings were quite flavorful and large, thus making it well worth the price. However, the other day the wings were still as flavorful, but were much smaller in comparison to my previous experience. Nonetheless, although there may be certain menu items that you should eschew from, there are still foods that are worth a shot. read more

Really bad .!! My beef with Broccoli was loaded with meat that was the consistency of rubber. Couldn't chew it. The lo mein was spaghetti with soy sauce, the beef hunan was also loaded with rubber meat. Egg rolls tasted like cheap old food, the won ton soup was very watered down. Should I keep on going ?? I have tried this place for the second time and each time that I have the food had way to much pepper in it. The first time I had mongolian beef and I couldn't even eat it due to the can of pepper it seemed to be in it and the second time I ordered chicken lo mein and that to was had a very strong pepper taste. This restaurant has new management, and it is ABSOLUTELY Horrible. The old management was awesome and the food was good. The General Tso's was not chicken, I had to saw into the meat, and I can't explain the taste, because it can't hardly be approved for the USA. The Lo Mein had a weird taste, and the beef and broccoli tasted like fish. Then they didn't want to give a refund when we took the food back.
