I've always been such a loyal customer with Taizzi because the service is absolutely phenomenal. The couple who runs the place are the nicest people ever! The only possible downside is if they get TOO busy because obviously people will become repetitive customers for a fantastic place and you might have to wait a while, but regardless, the food has never disappointed me. They've taken amazing precautions due to the pandemic and have made great accommodations with their pricing, specials, reserved dine in, even AYCE in our own cars. For an ayce this is one of the best. I wouldn't say their sushi is Nobu level but man was it delicious. We ordered off the full menu and we were not disappointed. The sashimi was super thick cut and the eel on a hot plate is definitely a must try. It is a little pricy at $35 a person but it was so worth it. Me and my sister probably ordered 7 rounds and we devoured all of it. Our waiter Josh was also amazing. I am writing this review after having done the Taizzi AYCE here twice. The ingredients that the restaurant uses are very fresh, which is very important when it comes to sashimi. I loved the yellowtail so much that I got the sashimi twice and a hand roll, it was so soft and melted in my mouth. The slices for sashimi at the store were cut very thick though, which impacts the texture when consuming. I would recommend for the chefs to make them a bit thinner. The fried tempura ice cream was super tasty and a must order for desert. The first time I visited the restaurant service was great, but the waiter we had for the second time appeared to be new and didn't really know what she was doing. read more

Went to Taizzi today for the first time. My wife and I ordered the all-you-can-eat sushi. There are two options, the lunch and the dinner version. We got the lunch version. The rolls are huge for an AYCE sushi place. Both of us could only eat two rolls. When we go back we will try the dinner version. What we really like about both options is that you can order a lot of non-sushi items. The sushi was very fresh and tasted great. Also, there was a lot of variety in the rolls. The service was great. We had Josh and he was fantastic. He answered all of our questions, and he didn't rush his answers or seem put out like so many servers do. read more

I found this gem on Yelp and decided to stop in one afternoon. I had a taste for sushi so this was the place to go to. They have a shared parking lot so parking can be a little hard but I was able to find a spot close to the front door. Once I arrived I was seated and given a menu and it's pretty extensive and I took my time and went through it before I made a decision. They have all you can eat options but I wasn't in the mood for that and seems like it's priced pretty reasonable. One thing to make sure, if you choose that option you have to eat it all or are you going to be charged 20% extra if you don't eat everything. It is state on the menu so you are notified up front. I decided on two different types of sushi and fried rice which was a big portion. The sushi was prepared very well and it was very delicious. Hello! I was struggling between 3-4stars. Here's why: Went here to eat the other night. Due to covid they are Reservation only! Not a problem:) The 4 star part: Starting off, the presentation of the food was beautiful. It is ALL YOU CAN EAT (but if you waste there is a 20% charge to the bill). This includes Sashimi. There is also hot food as well (so you can get a little of everything everything if if you are not a sushi lover). There are 3 tiers of the AYCE, which is color coded and very helpful. There are dishes that I def flavor more than others! Will list when pictures (and I took 75% of the pictures of food eaten). The 3 star part: Service was slow. It was only one server (I understand covid and limited resources + 50% occupancy). We had to wait for tables to be cleaned. There were 2-3 tables covers in dirty dishes from prior guests which was unappealing. She did try and clean it up for us right away by bringing dish tub out to bus it all. It was just a little gross for me. After being seated, We were told most likely our sushi would not come out til our reservation time Bc we came about 10-15min early. No problem. So we ordered hot food instead. The sushi came first! We were excited regardless but this solo server had a lot of work between bussing her own tables, giving service, and serving all the food. Again bringing out bus tub. While she this made our dining experience nearly 2 hours even though 90 min limit. Maybe I'm being picky, but just thought impression of restaurant wasn't good and grossed me out. Overall, We did wait a lot... But the food was pretty delicious for the price point! To put it In Perspective, hopefully with more staff it's a smoother transition and next time I go will be better (over rounded up my 3.5 experience to a 4)! Came on a slow Monday afternoon for lunch. Got seated and no one greeted us for a good 20 minutes. Just kept walking past us and cleaning other tables. Then finally I asked who our server would be. the lady just shook her head and got someone else to finally get our drink order. Food was disgusting and took forever to come out. Our server was horrible. Never checked on us and was very rude. We ended up getting charged 20% of our tab for not finishing our food and got charged with gratuity on top of that "for not finishing our food" For 2 adults and 1 kid we got charged a total of $90. I don't mind paying for stuff but when the food and customer service is complete trash I'd rather take my money else where. I'm never coming back here again. You've all been warned to stay away! I met Tai, the owner, when he was in Austin at an AYCE sushi place. It was sad when he told me he was leaving to Houston to start his own place because he had always been the one to personally make the sushi/rolls for me whenever I would visit. I finally got a chance to check out his new place in Houston and boy did it not disappoint. I'd have to say, there are many similar menu items, but also plenty of new things that I got to try. I do prefer it a bit over the Austin AYCE place that I go to so it's too bad he's in Houston. There are lots of nigiri, rolls, hand rolls, appetizers, etc for you to choose from and there are 3 tiers of AYCE (the higher you go, the more higher end items you have to choose from). The slices of fish are super fresh and very generous. The space is nice and cozy and if there are a lot of people, the food may be a little slower, but that's for good reason. Tai is the one personally making everything for his customers so you can expect consistent delicious quality. I will have to come back here again next time I visit Katy! read more

Can you believe I had to drive all the way to Katy to find some fine mid-priced sushi? Alright, I'm exaggerating. Katy isn't *that* far on a weekend. We sat down around 5:45 p.m. and the sushi place was fairly empty. What we did notice as people began coming in was that the majority of their customers appear to be regulars. The sushi chef behind the counter greeted several by name, and others came up to where he was working just to compliment him on the sauces and presentation. Truth be told, it was pretty heartwarming. There are three AYCE tier options, but if you're on a limited stomach, skip it and order the rolls directly. Because of the tiered system, some of the rolls we wanted to order would have put us in a higher price band. We instead saved a couple bucks by ordering what we wanted individually: the Deep Kiss, Candy Cane, Rock and Roll and Salmon Lover (bonus: their sushi rolls are inventive in both seafood combinations and names). - Deep Kiss: Slap unagi on anything and we'll eat it. This was a fun exercise in keeping a roll intact; if it's anything I'll criticize Taizzi for, it's the fact that their rolls fall apart quickly thanks to the sauce situation. The fried garlic slices are awesome. - Candy Cane: As advertised, it's topped with red tuna and pink red snapper (riddle me that one) to look like the stripes of your favorite Christmas candy. I understand now why everyone was asking about the sauce, because the Japanese mustard drizzled on top is highly addictive. - Rock and Roll: I think if we'd gone with a rice-stuffed roll we wouldn't have fit our Salmon Lover roll into dinner that night. Awesome for people who are being ~carb aware~, but I did really enjoy the original SO sauce and the sheer volume of salmon. - Salmon Lover: It's a roll with salmon. Pretty basic and appetizing, but this combined with the Deep Kiss made for a very garlicky evening. For creative rolls and a wonderful experience, I would say Taizzi is your best bet. We were seated immediately upon arrival . As the waitress introduced herself and reached over to the menu. She spilled the entire bottle of soy sauce all over my wife jacket and pants . It's an accident for sure didn't make a big deal. Would of been nice gesture for waitress to offer free dessert or something . This accident will cause us to dry clean her jacket and hoping it doesn't stain . Bad customer service !! Zero accountability!! Wife smelled like soy sauce the rest of the night!! Hallelujah a quality all you can eat sushi place with optional a la cart. They have 3 tiers and we did the middle tier which was perfect! I have to mention the host when we went was really working hard, doubling as the waiter and busser. The portions per roll were large but my husband and I were able to power through 6 of them. My favorite was the Final Destination, would definitely get that one again. Sit tight and salivate! A smaller sushi joint that's nestled near the Katy Outlets of Houston or moreso Katy is a slice of sushi/sashimi heaven. They've got three colors on their tiered list that will tell you what you can and CANNOT order. So if you're cheap and don't want to spend money grab the cheaper stuff. Feeling a little adventurous? Go for the intermediate. Feeling super bold? Get their luxury Blue one. Something that I definitely appreciate about this place is that if you're in a group is that you don't all necessarily have to get the same color as most places. It can be confusing but all in all, you'll get to understand them altogether. What's included in this is a couple of items that they wouldn't normally include at other places. Fried rice, egg rolls, noodles/ramen, and apps. Most places will just do fish and small amounts but not here. They give you Texan size and thank Buddha they do. Sorry, folks! I stand by my review as this was my experience. Unfortunately, many mom and pop restaurants are in the same situation (e.g., working with limited employees, transitioning to takeout/delivery/curbside). Taizzi has been the only restaurant I had an issue during the COVID-19 timeframe. The lack of communication was unpleasant and unwelcoming. There was a lot of rave about Taizzi and their $1 sushi/50% all menu special; therefore, I wanted to give it a try! But I have learned to stick with Iwa Ya Teppanyaki & Sushi instead of next time - they have the same price as Taizzi's special. Per instructed by their advertisement to text/call, I texted them my order and headed out to pick up. Leaving without confirmation was my fault. Upon arriving, several customers were outside waiting; one said he been waiting for an hour already. As I pulled on their locked doors, employees looked and ignored me. I called & texted them to ask if they are still operating. No response and went straight to voicemail. Texts were "delivered," but nothing. 4-6 people were waiting outside their door, confused and ignored. After waiting 20+ minutes with no response/explanation, I left. I received a text at 1am with an inadequate apology, asking me to order a day ahead next time. I understand being overwhelmed with orders, but communication is key! Put a sign on your door; give better ordering instructions. If people need to order a day ahead, LET THEM KNOW BEFOREHAND! I'm sure their food is excellent, but not like I was allowed to try. Great establishment with good selection of food for the all you can eat! There is a certain amount of wait for the food since there such a big selection but it's worth the wait. The service was nice, as there is only one or two servers running at the same time. It's amazing how much they remember! We stopped in for the first time on Friday. Great little spot and such wonderful food! It's an AYCE sushi, or also A La Carte. On Friday we had their build your own Bento Box. Our waiter and all around excellent host was Josh, and he walked us through how to order. Had we the time, we'd have been sitting there indulging in wonderful sushi, but let me tell you, that bento box was supreme! It was delicious, and enough for two meals. (I love to go boxes!) The male at the front counter is rude asl and was trying to grab my phone when it wasn't needed just to see an order. You don't need to touch anything I have or on me to see an order. Definitely not coming back. I do not recommend this establishment at all. Small cramped space with poor COVID practices. Also, barely any wasabi or soy. No sense of urgency. No kind of respect for the customer. What is the point of online ordering if it's not efficient for anyone? My second order was made when I got there. My wife and I stopped at this AYCE sushi place on a whim, and we were not disappointed. They have an extensive menu and you can either order items a la carte or order from one of three different AYCE tiers. The premium is the cheapest and includes all items in black for $27. The luxury is the next tier up and includes the items in blue for $35. The Taizzi is the top tier and includes everything on the menu for $43. If you're going to come to a place like this, skip the a la carte and go with the AYCE like we did. If you're going to get more than three items, you're going to come out ahead with the AYCE. We went with the premium option because there was nothing that particularly stood out among their higher tier offerings. The menu clearly lists out everything in each specialty roll, plus everything that they put on top, and any sauces that they put on top. The rolls are fairly large and thick cut, particularly the lower end options like the California Roll and Philadelphia Roll. I was a bit disappointed in a couple of their specialty rolls. The sauces are way too heavy and detract from the content of the roll itself. With one of the rolls I ordered (I think it was the "White House" roll) with white tuna on top, the toasted garlic pretty much overwhelmed everything else. On another roll, there was a "spicy tuna" topping that was more of a saucy mess than anything else. I ended up scraping it all off to the side and enjoying the roll without it. The crazy crab roll was probably my favorite. It too suffered from too much sauce, but the crab salad filling and crab stick topping was a solid crab lovers combination. Overall, it's not the best AYCE sushi place I've been to, but it was a decent value for the price and if they'd cut down on the sauces they'd easily earn a fourth star from me. read more
