Was in the area following a workout and decided to give this place a try. Now I'm a fan of sushi, have been to Japan, thus my expectations are a little high... However, if you are expecting to get some decent American type rolls this place has decent pricing if you go during their lunch special (top option) or opt for the all you can eat (bottom option on the menu). DO NOT get overwhelmed by the menu! There are a ton of options and a few limitations based on cost efficiency so take your time and ask questions! The staff were so nice and took their time to lay everything out to make sure there was no misunderstandings. OK! As for what I ordered: Lunch special: 1 chef's roll (you choose from a certain menu) + 6 pieces of chef choice sushi. First off they bring out a side dish plate of American Wasabi, ginger, and spicy pickled vegetables. Miso soup and salad comes with the meal and for $14.95 that's a great deal. Miso soup/salad : pretty good not huge portions which is nice as to avoid food waste (there's a lot of food on the way!) Candy cane roll: fish and rice temperatures were on point! The flavors went together nicely and there was no need for additional sauce. Only downside is that the roll at the end was falling apart some which can be bad for those hoping to have a touch of soy sauce. I told my waitress about this and she said that you can request the sauce on the side to avoid sushi falling apart- don't be afraid to ask! Sushi: The chef totally waited for me to finish my roll before he made the sushi! I will say I am extremely picky about tuna for some reason my taste buds are particular about it, but I have to say, they passed the test. Every piece had good temperature and remember that side dish I mentioned earlier? They leave it up to you to add as much Wasabi as you'd like. The only thing I'd say is it isn't as fresh (Japanese sushi fans know what I mean) as sushi Miyagi, but I also don't have to drive into town which in the end saves me money. I was very impressed with this AYCE sushi place! Covid: They had a temperature check before you come in, all workers were wearing masks, and there is a sanitizer bottle on every table. I had the Taizzi course, which includes the ability to order sashimi. I thought that the best fish was the fatty salmon. It was pretty fresh and kind of melts in your mouth. I thought the sashimi pieces we ordered (salmon, garlic salmon, tuna, garlic tuna) were pretty good. I wasn't a huge fan of the peppered tuna though but maybe that's just me. The last thing to mention about the sashimi here is that the cuts are HUGE. If you order, I would say to order a couple of pieces first just to get a sense of the size of the fish because it can get filling very quickly! Another tasty part of the menu was the unagi. It came on a sizzling plate and it was very, very good! I haven't seen any other place serve it like and thought that was really cool. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here! Houston doesn't have many sushi places and not a lot of food AYCE sushi places. I think this is my favorite one so far and can definitely see myself coming back! read more

Went to go eat at this place, the food was trash, crab cakes were trash. The servers were super great and friendly but the worst part of my dinning experience was hearing how the owner spoke to her employees. She was rude, arrogant, degrading and I could not believe anyone would speak to another human in that manner. I saw an employee make a mistake and she called him stupid. And here it is: I was dying in search of a legit Japanese sushi restaurant in Katy and guess what? I found one! Taizzi didn't disappoint me when I paid my visit last week. This was one of the only non fast food places open after 10pm so I decided to order takeout. I placed my order through yelp and headed over about 15min after it was confirmed my order was received. When I got there she seemed confused as to what I ordered and showed me the menu to confirm what it was. I quickly realized my order wasn't even started. After a 10-15 minute wait she brings out my food. Which didn't look very impressive from what I saw. When I got home and started eating I was so disappointed. My seaweed salad had way to much sauce and there was an awkward taste that I can't really describe. The portion of fried rice I ordered was insulting for $10.00. All you cant eat? More like slow you can eat. This is probably one of the most slowest all you can eat place you can find in town. I hate to be critical of a Korean owned restaurant but as a person that loves all you can eat and efficient service, the service is complete garbage. Been here three times for the all you can eat, and did the most expensive option every time. The first time I came here, it was great. Great quality food with fresh sashimi and great presentation and okay service. There are stuff on the menu that you can only order one time even if you do all you can eat, and although its a bit annoying, I respected it because those were some of the more pricier options. First time experience here, I would have given it a 5 star rating and would have recommended it to my friends. Second time I came here was a bit of a letdown, as I came here with my whole family and I wanted to show them how great of an option the all you can eat was. The service was a bit better and the quality was still just as fresh, but when I tried to order the one time only options on the menu, they told me that they were out. Normally, I would understand if some items were out of stock because they ran out, but to me, having the one time order items be "out of stock" seemed unusual and unlikely to me. As a customer, it would be great it they informed me that they were out of their exclusive dish options before I paid for the most expensive all you can eat option so that I could eat those one time orders. However, most stuff were still available and so I would have given it a 4/5 stars for the overall experience. HOWEVER, The third time around was the dealbreaker to me and why I never came back here again. When I came in to eat, i specifically asked the waiter if every option was available today on the highest priced all you can eat option. She told me yes and that they had everything, but later in the meal, when I tried to order some one time only orders, she tried to tell me that they were out. To me that made no sense, especially because she had told me that they had plenty in stock today at the beginning of my meal and it was not even busy when I came in. Worst part about it was after she said certain items were out of stock, a customer right next to us got what we were trying to order. Really. What a horrible way to manage a restaurant, and what a scam this place is. I heard they also raised their prices on their all you can eat options, and it only confirmed my suspicions about this place. The management is a greedy pig for money and is willing to overcharge their customers to make more money for less service, and is willing to lie to their customers to make more money. Really sad to see management ruin a restaurant experience. I hope that y'all read this review before going there and think twice, and for those with similar experiences, you know what I'm talking about. Due to Covid we dined inside our car for the AYCE dinner. You have to call ahead and reserve a spot probably due to the fact that their parking lot is small. You can either text in your order or put the order in with your waiter. FYI, whatever level of AYCE you choose, your party must also choose that level also. We were surprised at the portion of the nigiris and rolls. They didn't not skimp at all. The food was fresh and service was amazing. Our waitress Kendall was on top of things. She was readily available even with the car dine-in situation. The waiters were constantly walking in and out. However the prices have increased and there is less variety now than before even if you pick the pricest ayce option. I'm not sure if it's worth the price anymore. They have improved on the cut sizes of the rolls, sushi pieces, and sashimi. You can choose thinner cuts now because back then the cuts were thick thick. I didn't mind that back then though. Service wise, it has downgraded. The head waitress or manager when I first came here 3 years ago was super sweet and kind. However, over the years, I feel like she's changed. She had displayed a horrendous attitude when I came here with my boyfriend and his mom a year ago. She had a nonchalant attitude and I even saw her eye roll at that time. I thought she was having a bad day so I gave her the benefit of doubt. On other incidents, when I was being served by the head waitress/manager, was not that great but not terrible either. Today, I came in and it was kinda late to be ordering the ayce sushi options. She notified us we had 3 minutes. My boyfriend said she gave him a glare or a look when he said we were thinking about the ayce options. In the end, we decided to leave and notified her. She nonchalantly said ok and looked so happy that we were leaving. I definitely didn't feel welcomed, instead I felt like a bother. There are ways to say things and still have customers feel welcomed or just content even if customers can't get what they want to order. My boyfriend also said her service and attitude has changed. I don't think we will be returning after this. Overall though, I don't think the restaurant is bad, just don't know if it's worth anymore after all the changes. read more
