It's been a while since I last visited and pleased that the food is just as good as it was before. I had the spicy tuna roll and chicken udon. The roll was fresh, the chicken and broth were both flavorful and the udon was a perfect al dente consistency. The staff was professional. There is plenty of parking. I've been here about 3 times. Customer service is always great. I do recommend calling in the order beforehand. They have a special buy 2 rolls get one 1. The sushi is pretty good. The last time I came I took pictures of the rolls but as you can see we started eating the rolls. Lol! I've had the chicken bowl its chicken teriyaki, steam rice and veggies. I haven't had the pleasure of dining in, since today was my first visit and I chose my food to go. As my son and I waited we were given complementary edamame, which were tasty. I noticed the facility was clean, the people were nice. Now that we're home and tasted our food I was completely satisfied. I ordered a California roll, dragon roll, and spicy tuna. My son had the ramen with gyoza. All neatly packed for us to enjoy with chop sticks. Give them a try, I think you'll like it! read more

First time here and definitely NOT my last. Convenient location, small but intimate restaurant. Very homey atmosphere. They do offer extensive selections of sushi and rolls. I ordered the Sashimi Don with generous amount of different sashimi. Salmon and Tuna. Over a bed of mixed greens and sushi rice. The greens was fresh and crisp with just the right amount of rice. It was really good. The service was very warm and attentive. Price is average. Can't wait to go back again. read more

If I could give a higher star rate I would! The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. The owner really takes care of his people, he personally walked up to us and gave us free dumplings (I think that's what it's called). Lol the food was literally so fresh and beyond good! They are alright in my book. I've gone twice now, both for to-go orders. Tak-e sushi was good enough. I had a rainbow roll and a lobster roll, and they both satisfying. Not sure if I necessarily would order the rainbow roll again but I just remind myself that the standard I'm holding it against is my Japan sushi experience. I love this place so much that I went twice within five days and got the same thing. The staff are friendly and I'm always happy with my order. Not once have I gotten anything that I didn't like. On top of that, the staff are friendly and go above and beyond. On June 20, 2022, (yes, I'm so late giving this place a review) the gentleman who took my order, noticed I had gone into the place next door while they prepared my food. Tak-e Sushi finished preparing my food faster than I expected so he brought it over to me. I thought, wow, that was so kind of him to do that! To me, that's going above and beyond. I came early to get coffee from Starbucks and then get lunch at this sushi place. I've had sushi from here before and it was ok, a little overpriced though. After I parked in front of the restaurant this very rude man came out and told me to move my van and that parking there was reserved for the restaurant. There were no signs to designate it as such. I told the man that I'll move but for him to put a sign so that other customers may know. He got more rude and told me to just move it. I ordered a sushi and sashimi bento, a rock & roll roll, 1 container of eel sauce, and 1 container of spicy mayo. The rock & roll only has six pieces and for fourteen bucks, I thought it was a rip off. For what I paid I expected more rolls. I like the crunchy battered, deep-fried outside. While I dislike crab meat, it was delicious to have the combination with salmon, avocado, and cream cheese. Tasted like an upgraded Philadelphia roll, or rather more like it was fused with a California roll. I didn't care for the sauce or whatever was drizzled on it which tasted kind of sweet. I won't order this roll again even though it's okay-ish. The sushi and sashimi bento is really fresh. I couldn't finish it so I plan to finish it tomorrow. I think it's worth the price given the amount of food it has. The only thing I disliked about it is that it has California rolls. (The bento would be perfect if only the California rolls could be replaced with spicy tuna rolls!) I didn't eat the nigiri yet since I'm so full from the rock n roll rolls which I ate first. I only ate all the (4) sashimi pieces which are of salmon and tuna. The sashimi is really fresh. Miso soup tasted authentic unlike most places where it tastes instant. Eel sauce is sweet and forgettable. Not something I'd use to dip sushi in or drizzle rolls on. Such a thick sticky sauce is only good for teriyaki. The spicy mayo isn't my thing and I don't think it would pair well with anything even though it looks like the sauce drizzled on the rock & roll rolls. All in all, this is a good sushi place, just be picky about the rolls. You can't go wrong in ordering the sushi & sashimi bento if you have trouble choosing. read more

I used to come here when they first opened. They had excellent service and great quality rolls. Now, my most recent experience with this restaurant was a total disappointment tonight. I ordered the baked carson roll (see menu photo attached) which describes the roll to have baked salmon, masago, California roll, green onion, spicy Mayo, and eel sauce. What I received was a completely different roll from what was ordered (see photo attached) that had raw spicy tuna and a tempura crumble on top. I called the restaurant and the man who answered the phone was totally rude to me and said it was MY mistake and NOT their mistake. When I went on to tell him that I was just going to come back and get my money back HE HUNG UP on me. I called back again to inform them that I will be coming to get my money back and to keep their doors open (as they would be closing soon) a woman answered this time and told me I ordered the wrong one when I had the menu right in front of me. She tried to offer me another roll (the one I wanted) but after the attitude I received I definitely did not want anything that could be tampered with. I sent my bf to go retrieve my refund and come to find because I kept the 2nd item (edamame) that they refused to give me a full refund EVEN though they gave unacceptable service and for the inconvenience of having to go back a full refund should have been given. This is a shame that I have to come on here but I don't want anyone to go here and receive the same treatment. I started out with a 5 star rating when they first opened and now we are here... smh. The Ramen is not good here would not suggest. My order had been wrong a few times from here but the popcorn lobster roll is good.

We ordered maybe 3-4 times from this location for company lunch. It was a decent place for rolls with a great deal plus it was so close to our office. However, our thoughts changed the last time we ordered. We ordered 10 rolls and 5 orders of Salmon nigiri- the total cost was about $140. I cannot deny that it is probably the best deal on sushi rolls you can get anywhere else. However, sometimes there are other things that I personally value over price. I specifically asked the person who took our order if it was able for us to get extra ginger and I also pointed out to him that I am willing to pay for it. He was being nice and said he will give us a decent amount and we didn't have to pay. I assumed that they were being generous as we ordered more than ten rolls and some nigiri. However, when the order arrived, there were two 1.5 oz containers with ginger (which I think was extra he meant?), and most of the boxes with the rolls (more than half) didn't even have any ginger in them. So basically we didn't get extra- we got less than usual! I called the place again and asked why as it was really disappointing. He didn't even let me pay extra to make sure that we get enough ginger.. The reply was so simple and even more disappointing. He said that he believed it was a decent amount. Well I don't know. The experience was not so great, and this time spicy tuna was really fishy and we could tell that the tuna they used was not a good quality. I guess we will stick with other sushi restaurants that may charge more but actually ensure customer satisfaction. read more

I've been numerous Japanese restaurants and this one is a top place. Their salmon teriyaki bento is delicious. I visited this location last week and got their Kona Roll, Spicy Tuna and Philadelphia roll. The spicy and philly roll came in the same box but different amount of pieces. 1 had 5pcs and the other 8pcs. I am not sure if this is a normal thing but it was a bit odd to me. The taste wasn't their, the mix of brown rice and white rice was weird. Overall I was disappointed with what I received. I'm a huge sushi lover so it wasn't up to par with some other places I have visited. read more

You must come and try this place. Any one that loves and knows Sushi has to come and try these guys out. Their previous location was "Hayashi" in Carson. We didn't know they had moved till a few months ago. We tracked them down and found them here. When we first walked in we recognized the waitress and she recognized us. Haha. We were so happy!! You have no idea lol. The fish used is really fresh and you can taste it. All the rolls I've had so far are delicious and flavorful. They are creative with their rolls, so you won't feel like you're eating the same thing that every other place offers. Of course you'll have your basic options of California rolls and so on but always with a delicious twist. My all the time fav. Good food, great value. Don't let the casual setting fool you! Chef Lee was the prior head chef at Hayashi Sushi and adhered to the highest standards as far as quality sushi is concerned. He really does care about the food he creates and very much works hard to please his customers. Although, this is not the same formal setting as Hayashi, you're getting the same quality and service for a better price. Where do I start? First of my first impression of this place was wow! They had so many different types of sushi. But when I got to the counter to ask if any of the fish was imitation. The young cashier girl politely told me most of the dishes are imitation except for the salmon. Out of no where here's comes an older woman who was aggressive and unprofessional. The taste and the presentation was a fail. They also only gave a spec of wasabi, more needs to be given for some sort of flavor to be added. I was so Heartbroken when Hayashi in West Carson has closed and after few months they re opened but under new management. Looking at the reviews at the new Hayashi I was hesitant to go and eat there anymore -_- Until one day I got a notification on my phone about this new place called Tak-E! Me being a Sushi lover and looking for a new Japanese restaurant I know I gotta try it! And while I am looking at the pictures posted on yelp, Lo and Behold!!! I saw the Sushi chef/owner . I told my bf instead of driving to West Co for AYCE sushi let's try this new place and I didn't tell him what I've discovered until we got there and told him before getting off the car and he was so excited! The inside is different compared to Hayashi. Smaller but I like it simple and welcoming the owners recoginized us and there are regular customers dining in and he said it was a Reunion lol!
