We love Thai food and wanted to try something new, and found this restaurant online with some really great reviews. It's in the east end in a shopping center, but it was worth the drive. Located in the rear of a shopping center, it's a smaller restaurant with a handful of tables. Staff was very polite when we arrived and advised we could sit anywhere. Server greeted us warmly and provided us with menus and took our drink orders, we ordered a hot tea and waters. The menu is large and has a lot of classics on them. We started with the fried tofu squares and continued to review the menu. The food came out almost instantly, and we were asked to order our main dishes. We ordered the Tom Kha soup, yellow curry and pad won sen. Spice levels ranged from 1-4. Again the food came out extremely quickly and smelled delicious. We'll start with the Tom Kha soup that was spicy, sweet and oh so comforting. Delicious flavors that you couldn't stop eating. The pad won sen was my favorite, nice and spicy while also being light with fresh veggies. You could taste the char on the noodles and veggies, it was really perfect. Visiting my Husband in Kentucky & decided to try out this Thai spot- Take Thai KY, judging by their photos I could just tell this place was going to be authentic & delicious. Wow. 10/10! We killed everything. I asked for level 3 Hot and level 4 Thai Hot & it was the perfect spice. My tolerance is pretty high I would say Thai Hot is medium level for me but that's just perfect for me regardless. They have Esan style papaya which is like Lao style with fermented crab Amazing- just perfect flavors! Their Pad See Ew is made with FRESH noodles not the dry hydrated ones, we only like fresh ! So big points! The waitresses are very sweet & attentive and even the cooks came out to see if we liked everything & if everything was spicy enough, really appreciated that! I was taken here on a date after an afternoon at a pool, and what a delicious way to end the day! It ain't fancy inside, but the food and service are great! The chicken satay was great and the goong hom pha (shrimp in a blanket) were also delightful. I am so glad I was brought here for a meal and would not be mad to be brought back again some day! This was my first time in this place. the place was brand new looking and clean. we got the crab ragoon and it was ok. The tom kai soup had a good flavor. The papaya salad was good. My wife really liked her meal.....it was pad kra paow with crispy beef. I got the pad woon sen. My son got the pad se ew. Both of our meals were tasteless, hardly had any sauce on it. Ramen noodles have more flavor. I told the owner and she said ask for extra sauce in the future. You shouldn't have to ask for extra sauce. It should be tasty in the first place. I would not return for over priced tasteless food. Go to Amazing thai or time for thai. They do give military discount. read more

I left a review a few months back and due to living further away and pace of life have not made it back. I've tried, believe me. I got off early today and came over. WHAT A WAY TO BEGIN MY DERBY WEEKEND! Delicious and I don't care if it's traditional Derby cuisine or not. This time I got the yellow curry and coconut milk bowl with chicken. The way it comes is delicious, but I like a variety of veggies, so at a nominal up charge I added a few (Napa cabbage, carrots and green onion), along with cashews. I'm not a dainty eater, but I could not hold it all and am looking forward to the remainder later tonight. Their food is superb. I ordered the pad Thai with chicken spice level 2 and moo ping (pork skewers). Delicious! The pork was juicy and came with a tangy sauce on the side that tasted like lime and fish sauce. I shared it with my mom and sister and they really liked the food! A couple weeks later, we went back to order more items for takeout: green Thai tea, pad kra pao, red curry basil fried rice, and panang curry. The pad kra pao was just okay. Not the flavors I'm used to for pad kra pao. A bit watery. Overall, the food is pretty good. It's nice to see more Thai restaurants popping up! We'll be back! read more

We went on a quiet night for dinner. I got a Thai tea beverage and ordered the pad kee mao with level 2 spiciness. It was too mild for me so our amazing server brought the pepper rack over so I could add more to my dish. He was also very accommodating and brought more fish sauce to the table upon request. The Thai tea was a tad too sweet but still good. We ordered the chicken egg rolls and they were ok, the wrappers were thick and chewy, the chicken filling had an even amount of veggies also. The crab Rangoon was pleasantly filled with real crab, they were so tasty! The food overall is delicious and we'll be back to try other dishes. read more

If I want Thai in Louisville, then I make the trek to go to Take Thai- it's the best Thai Louisville has to offer- for sure. If you find yourself out towards that end of town, it's worth a side mission. No fancy dining room, or pretension ...just solid Thai- albeit their Summer Rolls I would give a pass- but definitely go for the Green Curry (a staple). read more

What an amazing restaurant. From the first visit, we felt welcomed by the owners; Chris, Ann & their staff. While the restaurant is a relatively small space, it packs in great customer service and tasty dishes. My husband and I have sampled almost all of the appetizers and a few dishes from each category - curries, fried rice, salads, soups and stirfried noodles. All are well made with the right balance of salty, sweet, and sour. You can pick your heat level and use a tray of condiments to increase the heat, if needed. Absolutely amazing! They gave me an extra thing of rice to go so I could have some for later, their Thai Tea was AMAZING! Their service was so quick too!! I ordered my food and it was ready so quickly! The restaurant is clean and lighting is not too bright and the ambience I would say is perfect for the place. Something odd that I always judge a restaurant on is their water. If it tastes like tap water I'm usually going to lower my expectations and not be too excited. My new favorite Thai spot. I've tried their Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Basil Fried Rice, and their iced Thai milk tea. Everything has been wonderful so far! The pad Thai is a little on the sweeter side if that's what you prefer, I personally like it that way so just a little warning before you decide to order. The Thai tea was perfect as well, not too super sweet. Spice levels are a bit inconsistent but that's okay for me since I always stick with a medium spice level 2 or 3. Sometimes they make it spicier but it's so good, it doesn't matter to me lol. Owners are so welcoming and nice every time we stop by they greet us with a smile. Saw this place opening not long ago and finally had a chance to stop for lunch with my boyfriend. Service was friendly, we were helped by multiple different people and our table was never neglected. I ordered the spicy grilled beef salad Thai hot. They warned me it might very hot, but I like heat. I think it was the perfect amount of spice for me personally, enough to make you sweat but not enough to make you cry haha. If you're not a fan of spice they offer a mild option which I think is great. The veggies and herbs in my salad were fresh, the beef was perfectly grilled and not over cooked and chewy (the latter being my experience at other local Thai restaurants ordering this dish). I am definitely looking forward to trying all the other salads! My boyfriend ordered the chicken pad see-ew. It was also very good the noodles were nice and chewy in the best way and the chicken was very tender, the sauce also had great flavor. They also brought out a complimentary version of chips and dip in the form of fried wanton wrappers and sweet chili sauce which I though was a really fun touch!
