09.26.25- found another great spot inside Chelsea market. It was a Mexican/Japanese, what a combo! The service and decor was spot on! We ordered (2) Ahi tuna tostada, carnitas taco, benito bowl with spicy tuna and japanese curry beef, sake sangria, boozy mangonada, jalapeño margarita. Every bite and sip was deliciousssssss! I have never had a combination like this before. Thankfully we got there before it got packed but people waited until others were done so they can be seated. I recommend this! Thank you guys, see you soon!

This place is pretty tasty and offers a unique blend of Japanese and Mexican fare. I'd recommend the Japanese Curry Beef as a protein, which pairs well with nachos or tacos. The service is ridiculously fast--they present uber-fresh food in minutes, if not seconds. Relaxing, comfortable environment too, away from the hectic Chelsea market. Would recommend stopping in.

A place that combines Japanese & Mexican food? Okay, that is what I am TALKING about! Two of my favorite cuisines. You can NOT go wrong. Takumi Taco is a nice spot in Chelsea Market for a quick bite. You can take your order to go or eat at the bar. I opted to get the bento box, which comes with 2 tacos of your choice, nachos, and a side. I got the cucumber sesame salad, which was refreshing. The tacos I got were the Japanese Curry Beef and Braised Short Rib. The Japanese Curry Beef came with a crispy gyoza shell, and it was EVERYTHING! I will definitely come back whenever I am in the area. :)

This place is amazing. It's a fusion success story. The service is very fast - a good thing at Chelsea Market and the choices are familiar and new at the same time. The staff make great recommendations of you need help deciding. I also had a delicious cider (Original Sin Black Widow) to top off a perfect experience.

Located in Chelsea market, this casual stall offers Japanese-Mexican fusion food. Specialized in their tacos, there's lots of fun combinations for you to try! Service is pretty quick. I got their Japanese beef curry taco to try and it came with some tortilla chips as well to enjoy. The taco was pretty solid and flavorful. Nothing crazy, but it was good for a quick, small bite!

An amazing Asian/Mexican fusion taco spot in the heart of NYC! This place will truly be one of my favourite places to stop by everytime i'm in the city. The food always hits, with such a great service from the staff. Love this place always and highly highly recommend you try all the selections of tacos they have! 10/10 recommend!

Solid fast-casual option in the heart of Chelsea Market. This location is pretty popular due to the mix of foot traffic and tourists, even on a Friday evening (post the office-worker crowd). Service is pretty quick and our food came very quickly which is a plus if you're in a rush. Bar seating is generally no-frills although I appreciate that they give you a carafe of water vs having to constantly flag down someone to refill your water glasses. Plus, I liked the fact that the food is served on actual plates (albeit with plastic utensils) unlike some of the other restaurants in Chelsea Market which are only a step above the takeout experience. Our nachos were crunchy although the ratio of salmon to chips was a bit off. Our tacos were thick and stuffed which was good (especially considering their high price of $5+ a piece) and came double-wrapped with corn tortillas. Overall, if you're looking for a quick bite in the area I'd give this place a shot.

I haven't tried a whole lot of stuff from here but I absolutely love their spicy tuna tacos. The crispness of the gyoza taco shell and crunch of the cucumbers with the spicy tuna are just divine. I don't even use that adjective lol! The other really yummy thing from here is the cauliflower al pastor. The only negative thing I have to say is their lychee iced tea was unpalatably sweet. I had to severely water it down to drink it.

I wandered into Chelsea Market solo and found refuge at Takumi Taco, chipotle shrimp taco standing between me and hanger. Decor is low key cozy, wood beams, warm lights, tight counter seating that makes you feel part of the culinary action. My taco hit the counter almost before I finished ordering, shrimp chilled just enough, slathered in smoky aioli and guac, sesame scattered perfection. Service moved so fast I half expected a medal for efficiency. Sat there savoring every bite, thinking this is exactly what midday should taste like.

I had to stop by here when I saw they were serving fusion Japanese and Mexican food. I love a good taco and this spot does a mix of both cuisines to give their food a unique twist. I had the Japanese curry taco and their braised short-rib taco as well as their sake sangria. The sake sangria was delicious and tasted just like juice. Out of the 2 tacos I did get to try, I enjoyed the curry the most. The short-rib was good but didn't stand out as much as I thought it would. However, I really enjoyed the crispy shell that it was paired with. The curry taco was a burst of flavor of familiarity and goodness for me that I found myself wanting more.

Chicken Adobo Taco, Japanese Curry Beef Taco, Charred Corn Salad
    Sonya L.

Was able to get a seat at the bar. We tried the adobo and curry tacos and made it a bento. The curry taco was our favorite because it was different and the curry was really flavorful and tasty. We got charred corn salad as our side with the chips. This spot is good if you want a quick bite but it is in an area that's more noisy and lot foot traffic and seems to fill seating up quick.

Slightly messy, workers are busy, the bar is sticky, decent amount of seating, FAST good food. Easy ordering, in and out in 25. 8/10

Great place to grab a quick bite although it can be a bit loud and crowded. The tacos are delicious, especially the Japanese curry beef taco - what a fusion! They were served hot, fresh and quick!

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

Also got guacamole and chips as a side - which was on the smaller side given the price. All in all it's a good lunch option in the city!

I had this place bookmarked for a while. Finally came for my birthday dinner. It was a rainy…read moreevening and I was hoping there'd be umbrella sleeves offered. I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.
