Classic diner in Burbank! Great food and great service. We came on a Sunday around 11:30 and were seated right away. We ordered the breakfast burrito (King burrito) which was great, and the #7, which had pancakes, eggs and a choice of protein. My boyfriend loved the pancakes and said they were super moist and fluffy. Everything is tasty and reasonably priced. The parking lot can get a little crowded, but there's also a decent amount of street parking as well. read more

My sister called in an order for a turkey club sandwich for me, she was met with a rude older lady that gave her attitude when She asked for onion rings and extra bacon for the sandwich. I ordered the sandwich thinking that turkey was supposed to taste good from this restaurant, that's what a lot of these reviews claim at least. The turkey was terrible, she didn't ask what bread I wanted so they decided on wheat bread, and they didn't give extra bacon. This is another miss when it comes to the tastebuds of the people of Burbank. I was reading up on how Canes have been giving this restaurant issues due to how popular it's been. I think, after this terrible meal, maybe they should just sell the space for something more useful; a parking lot for Canes. Mind you I feel Canes is overrated and I rather give that chain my money than let mediocrity continue to exist in this city. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. I really love the fried chicken and open faced hot turkey sandwich. The chicken is crispy on the outside and moist. The hot turkey sandwich has quite a bit of turkey, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, and is big enough to share. It does get packed so there may be a wait, but it is worth the wait. read more

We wanted a little late night snack. We decided on chili however the two major chili places near us had closed. Thank God for Burbanks olde faithful The Tallyrand. I Called in our request got margaritas and morning desserts too. All to go. The chili was mildly flavorful and still hot. No additional seasoning was needed. It came without beans but you can get cheese n onion on the side. Got two to go blended margaritas also that were great. We also got a cinnamon roll and a pecan roll to go. Just visited this lovely restaurant with my family for Father's Day! We came from South Orange County after watching their Huell Hoswer special and the owner, Karen, welcomed us in like family! The staff is extremely kind and even provided a free Talleyrand shirt for my dad! The place has a warm, cozy atmosphere perfect for Sunday Brunch! We got the cappuccino chip muffin and giant cinnamon roll from the bakery, both of which were moist, warmed up, and perfectly sweet! We also ordered the Belgian Waffles, French Toast, Chicken Noodle Soup, and TURKEY SANDWICH!! If you're a fan of Thanksgiving meals, this has everything wrapped between two slices of fluffy bread! Someone else described the service as "being served by a bossy aunt." Although I can see the charm in a statement like that, restaurants are to expensive for the experience not be great. The food was perfect, but the server was entirely unfriendly. Not so much as a smile was offered. My coffee was only refilled because I flagged down a busser. It was disappointing because other people seemed to be getting better treatment. We don't go out much because everything costs an arm and a leg, so I'm grateful the food was good but there is nothing better than getting friendly service. Great American Diner. This is not a posh diner wanna-be, this is not a hipster breakfast fusion joint, this is an old fashioned diner that still has the old diner menu. So if that is what you are looking for, you will be pleased. I was telling someone the other day that I love Italian espresso, but I also love a good mug of diner coffee. It is it's own animal.. right... coffee lovers will know what i mean... I had pancakes, eggs, sausage and potatoes.. it was awesome. I was so pleasantly surprised in my first dining experience here today. Granted, you can tell right off the bat that it's really for the older crowd, but hey, they have really good food here. I decided on the hot turkey sandwich. Real turkey sandwich doused in gravy with mashed potatoes and amazing stuffing. I felt like I was eating Thanksgiving dinner all over again. Portion was so big that I couldn't finish it all and couldn't wait to have the rest for dinner. My mom had the grilled salmon and it was a very generous portion, along with veggies, salad and a banana nut muffin, which looked it like it was to die for since it was steaming hot with butter. I had to get one to go. I wasn't happy with the muffin whatsoever and wonder if maybe I had gotten an older one that had been in the case for a while. It lacked sweetness and tasted like cardboard. It left a horrible taste in my mouth, however I do realize that the muffin had not been warmed and I had no butter on it, not that a muffin will taste good only if I have butter pouring from it. This place has its own parking lot, plenty of spots to park, a cute inside dining area and a really good looking menu and prices are extremely fair. We were shocked that my mom's salmon plate was only $13 where most places have theirs between $15-$20. Real nice staff here as well. Our waitress was super nice as were all the ladies and men that were working there at that time. I come here almost every Saturday if not on Sundays, the food is great and the service is always decent. There have been a few incidents where I thought I wouldn't come back but it's local and works for us. Today I sat down and waited for over 20 minutes to be acknowledged, the host who's a 49ers fan was super cool and very friendly. We got our coffee and soda and waited for 22 minutes without being acknowledged by our server, other people were seated and ordered. Finally we packed it up and left, first time in 5 years I've left here without eating, I paid 8 dollars for absolutely nothing as we didn't even touch our drinks since I didn't have any creamer at our table. I mean, this is the place that Walt Disney would pop into now and then with no fanfare to enjoy the solid Mid-West style cooking he grew up with. I've read a few reviews where people are slamming TallyRand for having a security guard in their parking lot. They had no choice in placing security in their lot, as the traffic from Canes has become quite overwhelming. If you're one of these people complaining and slamming TallyRand, just being honest here, you're an asshole. The owner of TallyRand is struggling to keep their parking lot clean and clear for their customers and they're 100% entitled to do precisely that. So give em' a break and learn to deal with being told 'no' for once in your life. As for TallyRand, heck, jump in, enjoy their incredible turkey dinners and oh man, their breakfasts are off-the-hook amazing. Best pancakes in Burbank, hands down. I was at the Tallyrand yesterday. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by the 90 year-old something host and was told I could sit anywhere I like. I was very hungry, so I decided to sit close by the area closest to the entrance. after sitting myself, I noticed no one came up to me after five minutes six minutes seven minutes eight minutes, nine minutes 10 minutes, so I summoned the bus boy to get me some help. Out of nowhere, a phony, apologetic waitress came up to me and handed me a menu and then walked away. I summoned the busboy again because no waitress was around to help me and asked them about the menu. He said eggs Benedict are not served today only on Saturdays and biscuits and gravy only on Sundays, which I thought was kind of weird with that said and done after eyeballing the menu, I decided on getting the steak and eggs at $23, after sitting there for another 10 minutes with no acknowledgment, a waitress came out of nowhere to help three female patrons average age 83 years old while they were deciding what to get for breakfast for the next 15 minutes I decided to leave. This is the place that your grandparents would take you on your weekend visits to them in Burbank I'm pretty sure nothing has been changed on this menu since this place was founded. I've been coming here for a few weeks now since Covid protocol allows them to have outdoor seating the service is always attentive and the waitresses and staff really care about their customers. I find myself ordering almost the same thing every single time I come here the Montecristo which is a triple decker sandwhich with their homemade turkey, ham, lettuce and tomatoe. Today I've ventured to the chicken club but I subbed out the chicken with turkey and then it's still good it's so simple and comforting. So we went in for a Prime Rib dinner! They have as a Friday nite Special! I was told 4:00 it comes out ofthe oven, best time to get a rare slice. So we order and what comes out is far from rare if anything it is medium well! So I ask again for a RARE CUT, it is how I enjoy Prime Rib and most meat! The waiter returns and say that is as Rare as they have?! Wait it is4:15?! What happened? Bythe way this was a second try for them a similar meal was served on a separate visit! If it's the fact that the ac is old then it's time to upgrade for the good of your business. Subjecting your customers to near 90 degree heat is not a good business decision.
