This is a charming restaurant. It has diner counter seating at the front as well as booth and table seating on either side. The restaurant is more spacious than it looks. I came here for lunch w work colleagues and we got Indy dog seated. However I will say from ordering to the food coming out, it took almost 30+ minutes. I got the popular turkey melt and added lettuce and tomato. It was a tasty sandwich and well made. The turkey was delicious and bread was toasted nicely. The fried arent my fave style of fries tho. lol! Parking is free and plentiful in the lot.

    Delicious Breakfast burrito

TLDR: delicious pancakes, amazing king burrito, classic diner feel, friendly staff, reasonable price, indoor and outdoor seating One of the best breakfasts and pancakes I've ever had - this family-owned place should be at the top of your list in Burbank!!! There's a joyful vibe when you walk in the door. Tallyrand has a classic and perfectly welcoming American diner feeling. And the food matches the excellence of the family-friendly vibe. I shared the #7 pancake meal and the King Burrito, both of which were excellent. The warm syrup and buttery and fluffy buttermilk pancakes were a standout - this place has perfected their pancake recipe (which makes sense since they've been operating since 1959!). The burrito was delicious and came with a homemade salsa. I recommend the savory/sweet breakfast, but if you don't get pancakes I have to say the warmed-up homemade cappuccino chip muffin is a DELICIOUS choice too!! Prices were incredibly reasonable and worth every penny! The place is family-owned and operated and is on its 3rd generation of family ownership. The staff have a fun and joyous camaraderie with each other and they were so pleasant and fun. There are obviously a lot of regulars who stop by here too - the waiters are on a first name basis with many of the customers! Lots of families and kids enjoying it too in the indoor and outdoor seating. I can't recommend this place enough. If you are in Burbank (or LA county) - this is THE BEST diner in the area. I can't wait to come back for lunch and dinner!

This is a really neat restaurant. It is much bigger than it looks. We sat downstairs where it is very dark with a bar and a cool vibe. Upstairs had plenty of room and lots of light. This place looks like its out of a old movie. We were disappointed because we were looking for breakfast. We were under the impression that breakfast ended at 1:00pm. I guess they stop serving breakfast closer to 11:30. We even saw people eating breakfast. We got a strong no on breakfast due to kitchen rules. I ordered a chicken sandwich. It was alright. My bf had the double decker which he said was good. Service was friendly. Parking is tight in front but wraps around the back.

MIXED REVIEWS FOR DINNER ======================== My husband and I and two of our friends met for dinner on Sunday, December 7th. I worked and lived in Burbank years ago, but I don't think I had ever been there. My husband had not been there. Our friends like it and they recommended it. I did my research on Yelp ahead of time and decided on the turkey dinner. I loved it. My husband decided on the chicken fried steak and he hated it. That was the kiss of death as far as he's concerned. I will have to go back with friends sans husband. Our friends were happy with the dishes they chose. One picked the fried chicken and the other a salad. I absolutely loved the sourdough bread.

The Tally has a special place in my heart, so this is a somewhat bias review. That being said, the food is solid, the service efficient and friendly and the ambiance is of a bygone era - awesome! Request a seat in the bar, to me, the heart of Tallyrand. Here's where my dad had many a 3 martini lunch from the 60s through the 80s. He explained to me, on a special day I got to shadow him "at work," that the layout of Tally bar is perfect for business lunches. 'I can be close to the back door exit, while keeping an eye on the front door if my boss walks in.' So once a year Hubs and I come to the Tally to raise a glass to Dad and enjoy a classic meal done perfectly since 1959. Tonight, I was in the mood for one of their hand carved steaks. A beautiful 30oz New York Angus, seared and delivered perfectly Rare/Medium (I like more rare than medium, but enjoy a good sear). It came with choice of side(steamed veggies for me), and salad or scratch made daily soup(chicken noodle tonight). I requested some A1 sauce, but a perfect sauce doesn't need it and I didn't use it. The steak was seasoned perfectly with just salt & pepper. Chef's kiss! Hubs went with the classic pot roast dinner, opting for a baked potato over the fresh daily mashed potatoes and house made gravy. He also enjoyed the chicken noodle soup. Our dinners also have an option of a loaf of sourdough or muffin - all baked fresh daily. These muffins are SO GOOD! You'll be asked if you prefer the muffin to go, which I've elected to do previously because it's a great treat in the morning for breakfast, but tonight I wanted that delicious, moist carrot cake muffin with my dinner. Hubs opted for the sourdough - also very delicious! ;) We didn't have room for dessert, which they are also known for, but left full, satisfied and looking forward to another meal in the near future. Hubs has his eye on the pot roast quesadilla next. Cheers! "CC"

Service is notably great! Everyone is so friendly and works together. Cute little spot that's not so little. I can't believe I didn't know about it! Good coffee and yummy food. We tried their famous fried chicken plate that comes with mashed potato and coleslaw... it is famous for a reason! We also ordered the chicken tenders dinner plate. It was okay - the breading was a little too thick and the fries with a little bland. Blueberry muffins are a must try.

It's my first time ever eating at that place While the parking lot was full, and the place was super packed I don't know if it's because the rain I attracted everybody here inside or because it's just delicious and good I know this is a landmark in Burbank. It's been around for a long time. I ordered the "giant Reuben sandwich" for $17.50: corn beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut on a grilled sourdough bread It comes with French fries: the large and thick style. Food is just ok, and the atmosphere is your typical American coffee shop...

I love this place. Is it Michelin quality? No. Has it been renovated in 50 years? Don't think so. But is it charming, is the food fresh and comforting, and are the waitstaff smiling from ear to ear? Yes. I had the turkey dinner. "Homemade" mashed potatoes seems a bit of a stretch but I will say that overall, it's good and not dry turkey, tons of food, and it all goes together well. The salad was more lettuce on a plate, but the ranch was good and the sourdough was warm. It's good prices for the amount, a server who seemed genuinely happy to be there and excited for the food she served, and the noise level made it so I could actually hear my friend speak --rare in a restaurant now!

    No. 7 Buttermilk Pancakes

Been hearing about Tallyrand for years and finally made it! Classic diner ambiance and the bar was cool too. Great spot for a quick breakfast, my pancakes were great. Really friendly staff and good service. Would love to go back and try the tuna melt.

    Number No. 7 Buttermilk Pancakes

I went to Tallyrand for a Saturday brunch and it was so amazing! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us and were very friendly. The menu had so many good options but I finally decided on the number 7. I got it with scrambled eggs, sausage links, and pancakes. The sausage was very delicious and the pancakes were the perfect consistency. The restaurant was also very clean and well-run. The waiters made sure we were always taken care of. If you're in the Burbank area, I would highly recommend Tallyrand for a family friendly breakfast and great food.

Had the tuna melt with fries and a slice of chocolate cake. The tuna melt was good and think cut fries were excellent. The chocolate cake (Bundt cake) was dry and not something I would order again. My sister ordered the blackened chicken sandwich which was very tasty. They have clam chowder which I wanted to try but I decided on the sandwich. I would return again to try other entrees .

I go to Hollywood frequently and I'm always on the lookout for a different restaurant to try. Always looking for historic, vintage, old school, etc. and The Tallyrand hit the spot! Of course I had to try the turkey dinner as it is their number one seller and they cook 200 pounds of turkey every day! The turkey dinner was fabulous! The turkey was very moist and flavorful, the potatoes were light and fluffy and the dressing was spot on. Chicken noodle soup was good. Some of the guests in my party had pancakes and a breakfast burrito and said they were both delicious. By the way, the sourdough bread is so good that I took a whole loaf home. It has a fabulous crunchy crust and soft center. I also brought home a cinnamon roll. The flavor was there, but I think it would be best to have fresh rather than the next day. The ambiance is reminiscent of an old school diner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I totally recommend The Tallyrand!

Go to breakfast and brunch restaurant when I'm in Burbank. This place is an institution coffee shop diner family restaurant. Super friendly service and great American family restaurant food. Super busy so prepare to wait in the morning but well worth it! Great breakfast and omelette plus large lunch and dinner menu. They are famous for their fired chicken which is the bomb!

That said, there's definitely potential for it to be higher. Lancers has that classic family restaurant feel, and overall the meal was decent. I ordered two meals: the beef dip and the fish and chips. I'd give the beef dip a 3/5 and the fish itself a solid 5/5. The fish was nice and flaky, and the batter was phenomenal. Crispy, light, and not greasy. The oil didn't seem old or overused, which I appreciated. However, it was disappointing that the fish wasn't served with a lemon wedge, which would have really complemented the dish. I ended up having to ask for one, but our server didn't stop by the table after dropping off our food. We had to wave her down to get her attention. The beef dip had good flavor, but the meat was served cold. Even so, it was still enjoyable. The bread appeared to have been toasted, but it wasn't crispy at all. In fact, I asked for the sandwich to be boxed up almost immediately because I already knew I was going to take it home and make it better myself. The whole time I was thinking how good it would be with some horseradish and cheese, then popped into the air fryer for a few minutes. The sandwich had potential, but it needed a little more attention in execution. The turkey gravy was another miss. I ordered it for the fries, but it wasn't thick enough. It definitely could have used more flour. The consistency was closer to the au jus that came with the beef dip than a traditional turkey gravy. Overall, there were some highlights, especially the fish, but a few execution issues and inattentive service kept the meal from being better than average.

After a long, exhausting four-hour dialysis session, my friend Maria picked me up because I had a…read moredoctor's appointment immediately afterward. I was starving and had been craving a tostada salad for years, so we stopped at Foxy's, a place I'd been going to off and on since the 80s. Both Maria and I ordered the chicken tostada salad, and what arrived was incredibly disappointing.!!! The chicken was bland, tasted like frozen chicken with fake grill marks, and there was barely any of it. The salad itself was mostly lettuce and baby spinach. Seriously, who the hell puts baby spinach in a tostada salad? We were so dissatisfied with those salads that we told the waitress to take them back because we didn't want them. The waitress, who was also the cashier, suggested that we order something else instead. Maria ordered a cheeseburger that came with fries. Since she used to come to Foxy's about 20 years ago when her kids were in junior high, and because she knows I like carne asada burritos, she suggested I order the carne asada burrito because she remembered them being huge back then. Well, not anymore. The burrito was much smaller than what she remembered, and after I took literally one tiny bite just to taste it, I immediately noticed bell peppers in it. Wtf? What kind of idiot puts bell peppers in a carne asada burrito? I asked Maria if they used to put bell peppers in them years ago, and she immediately said no. Maria tasted it herself and was disgusted by it too. When I say I barely touched it, I mean it. I literally took one small taste, Maria barely had a bite herself, and there was still approximately seven-eighths of that burrito left sitting on the plate. To top it all off, the burrito also came with stale-ass tortilla chips! Since I couldn't stomach the salad or the burrito, I ended up eating only half of Maria's dry, tasteless, cardboard-like cheeseburger and exactly four fries because by that point I was disgusted with the entire meal. The final bill came to $41.90. I'm on a fixed income. Paying $41.90 for half of a dry cheeseburger, four fries, and food we barely touched because it was so bad is frustrating enough. Being asked whether I wanted to take home a box for a burrito that still had seven-eighths left felt downright insulting. No thank you. I don't take home food that I thought was crap! When I was paying, I told the waitress/cashier, "I wish I could speak to your manager." She told me he was right there, but I explained that I was already going to be late for my doctor's appointment and didn't want to have to reschedule until next week. I spend three days a week at dialysis and use my other days for specialist appointments and medical visits, so my schedule is already difficult enough to manage. I told her I would call the manager when I got home. When I finally spoke with the manager later, he asked me, "Why didn't you tell them you didn't like it? They would have taken it off the bill." That response left me confused because the waitress already knew exactly how dissatisfied we were from the moment the salads went back untouched. She knew we rejected them. She knew we ordered replacement meals because of them. She knew I barely touched the burrito. She knew Maria disliked it too. She knew there was almost an entire burrito left sitting on the plate. If taking it off the bill was an option, why wasn't that offered at the time? Why wasn't there an offer for a discount, partial credit, or some kind of accommodation? At the very least, after watching customers send back meals and barely touch the replacements, comping a dessert to go would have been a nice gesture. This experience was disappointing from beginning to end, especially because I remembered Foxy's so fondly from years ago. Ewww!! Never again!!!!
