It reminds me of the places my grandpa would take me to get dinner at as a child, super homey and comfort food. I got exactly what my grandpa would have ordered, the hot turkey sandwich, which comes with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce. It was a flash to my childhood past and a Thanksgiving meal all in one. I also got a bowl of the chicken noodle soup which was really creamy. My boyfriend got onion rings and the Ruben, which I could have stolen from him because that was super tasty. We walked into the patio empty of customers late this afternoon and sat at the only clean table - the rest of the tables were cluttered with food leftovers and half empty beer glasses. Next to our table, a dog bowl container filled with food was left sitting on the ground and napkins were strewn all over the floor. We politely asked the person seating us to clear the two tables abutting ours as the restaurant didn't appear busy, with 4 guests inside in downstairs area (3 of them at the bar), and the upstairs area was quiet with only a few tables going. Instead of clearing up the mess, the busser showed up speaking to us in Spanish. I responded I didn't understand but he insisted every American should know some Spanish. Then he went on repeating greetings in Spanish we should know. He vanished, the mess stayed and was never cleaned for the entire time we were there. See photos. We waited for some 15 min. for our server - we were fatigued and about to leave by the time she finally showed up. Marty is THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!!! I go to TallyRand all the time and will make sure I wait to be able to sit in her section! She's incredibly personable, upbeat, funny, attentive, has her own fun songs she sings about the menu ("potatoes or fruit or something?") I could be having a rough morning and when I see her my mood is completely flipped! It's so rare these days to meet someone who is the the epitome of an angel but that's Marty! If you're like me and wanted to rope this place into the every other diner crowd I would say at least give them a chance. My friend insisted I try this place especially for their turkey dinner and after enjoying that (and the appetizer sampler) I can say that it is in fact like almost any other diner as far as food but the atmosphere and wait staff were amazing. Super disgusted and disappointed by the terrible service we got just because my family and I are of color. Luckily they have the best busboy because he greeted us with a smile and took our drink orders right away. Exceptional! Talleyrand is a wonderful place for a great meal and a stiff drink. The fried chicken was AMAZING. Talk about **CRUNCH** followed by succulent and flavor chicken. Large portion leaves you full and satisfied. Drinks were STIFF! Heavy pours on the patron shots and margaritas. The sourdough bread and butter was SO GOOD! I like the food here and the servers are normally great. I have had terrible experiences with this one blond waitress with a bob haircut. So don't sit in her section unless you want to deal with a frustrated comedian. She thinks she's a comedian but she's just not funny and she becomes an insult comic when you ask her to ease up. So there's a group of us who are crazy enough to do 530am Crossfit at Phenom. We like one another well enough to even celebrate birthdays, going aways, home purchases or just because. For the 7th month in a row, we've come to Tallyrand at 630am - all fired up from a killer workout and ready to celebrate by having breakfast (and sometimes mimosas!) as a fitness family. The food is always delicious, but the atmosphere and service are just as awesome and amazing! We adore each of the waitresses, but we ESPECIALLY love Mr. Baldy who tolerates us and even joins in on our craziness! We highly recommend this place for all the reasons mentioned above!!!! Went to dinner with NY daughter and future son in law. I'm gluten free but my daughter and almost SIL loved the fluffy, steaming hot bread. I had the blackened salmon salad, which was tasty. My SIL loved the hot turkey melt sandwich, especially since it contained both dark and white turkey meat and the bread was nicely buttery. My daughter thought her Ceasar Salad with added salmon was absolutely delicious. Parking was easy in their large lot, and my server Debbie very nice. My sister called in an order for a turkey club sandwich for me, she was met with a rude older lady that gave her attitude when She asked for onion rings and extra bacon for the sandwich. I ordered the sandwich thinking that turkey was supposed to taste good from this restaurant, that's what a lot of these reviews claim at least. The turkey was terrible, she didn't ask what bread I wanted so they decided on wheat bread, and they didn't give extra bacon. This is another miss when it comes to the tastebuds of the people of Burbank. I was reading up on how Canes have been giving this restaurant issues due to how popular it's been. I think, after this terrible meal, maybe they should just sell the space for something more useful; a parking lot for Canes. Mind you I feel Canes is overrated and I rather give that chain my money than let mediocrity continue to exist in this city. In a city where there are so many better options, it pains me to see people settle and eat at Tallyrand because it's a "Burbank institution." Just visited this lovely restaurant with my family for Father's Day! We came from South Orange County after watching their Huell Hoswer special and the owner, Karen, welcomed us in like family! The staff is extremely kind and even provided a free Talleyrand shirt for my dad! The place has a warm, cozy atmosphere perfect for Sunday Brunch! We got the cappuccino chip muffin and giant cinnamon roll from the bakery, both of which were moist, warmed up, and perfectly sweet! We also ordered the Belgian Waffles, French Toast, Chicken Noodle Soup, and TURKEY SANDWICH!! If you're a fan of Thanksgiving meals, this has everything wrapped between two slices of fluffy bread! It comes with a tall stack of freshly cut turkey inside, mashed potatoes and stuffing, cranberry sauce on the side, and gravy poured over everything-very VERY delicious!! Classic diner in Burbank! Great food and great service. We came on a Sunday around 11:30 and were seated right away. We ordered the breakfast burrito (King burrito) which was great, and the #7, which had pancakes, eggs and a choice of protein. My boyfriend loved the pancakes and said they were super moist and fluffy. Everything is tasty and reasonably priced. Just recently I ordered eggs Florentine for the first time. As I understand it, it is only available on week-ends. Well, it is really good. I recommend it. The food was perfect, but the server was entirely unfriendly. Not so much as a smile was offered. My coffee was only refilled because I flagged down a busser. It was disappointing because other people seemed to be getting better treatment. We don't go out much because everything costs an arm and a leg, so I'm grateful the food was good but there is nothing better than getting friendly service.
