My wife and I went here the other night. The place was very busy. The restaurant is on the small side and tables are pretty close to each other. I do not know if the service is generally slow or we picked a bad night to go. We had to wait to be sealed for about 15 minutes and were you waited was a very small area. Once we were seated service was better. My wife and I both ordered the chicken parm hero's and a caesar salad. The food was great and portions were very good. The waitress was very nice. Although I did not like the waiting part the food was great and I would definitely go again.

Amazing local spot with great staff and super quick service! They get busy so be prepared to wait or call ahead an order which was way faster. The chicken cutlets here are the best, crispy and thin, perfect for any sandwich. The Cesar salad was great and the portion sizes make the price well worth it. Don't sleep on their homemade potato chips too, great flavor and crispness, wish I got more!

Brookline/Dormont is becoming such a great food scene with a few blocks and now this spot is part of it. When you go in and place an order at the register, or if you need to wait to be seated, you will often have a chance to chat with the owners and everybody here is just so nice. It's a small place but they are doing everything from scratch the right way and it's all really delicious. There are some appetizers and other items on the menu but this is largely a sandwich spot. The sandwiches are very substantial and delicious. They come with a side of either regular or salt and vinegar potato chips, all made in house. I have had an eggplant sandwich and a Caprese here and they were excellent. They also have a nice selection of Italian sodas and gelato, which you can put together to make a delicious float. I'm sure I will be stopping by here often. It's usually pretty busy so the locals know!

Makes perfect sense to get the sauce on the side for take out. I'm sure it would be delicious!

Stopped in for take out. Really friendly staff. There is a dining room. There were about 3 specials listed on some butcher paper on the wall. The Italian Stallion comes on a fresh hoagie roll and has some balsamic on top. Really tasty lunch. Looking forward to trying some of the other items on the menu.

This is a great addition to the boulevard food options! We went in for a takeout order and were warmly greeted at the door. We asked some questions about the menu and they kindly answered all of them. We ordered our food and it was done in about 5 minutes. The flavor was so good. There is a little dining in em area that looked really cute as well.

Very laid back atmosphere with a very friendly staff , the meatball was awesome, focaccia flight with oil and ricotta, bread was great, Italian stallions meat was so fresh and not pictured was the fried mozzarella, the best I've ever had

Can't say enough good things about this place!!! Old school Italian restaurant vibes but the most creative artisan Italian sandwiches! You can tell there is a lot of love that goes into the business. They offer take out or dine in, you can order ahead! 30 ish seating in the dining room and great service from the super friendly waitstaff! Everything was delicious from the homemade fried mozzarella to the Banker sandwich and even the lemon cookies and Housemade biscotti - don't forget to try their fresh squeezed lemonade- made with butterfly pea! So good!

I had to stop into Fredo's after seeing photos from my daughter who had just spent two weeks in Bosnia. The interior of Fredo's is like stepping into a small shop you'd find in Bosnia. The yellow walls are welcoming, and cozy. There's a small variety of snacks, and beverages on one side of the shop, and a large counter where you'd place your order. There are a few tables for dining in, but I chose to take my order home. I ordered a small Cevapi and Sirnica, plus picked up some Croatian chocolate for dessert. The Cevapi were delicious skinless beef and veal sausages, that were nicely savory and well browned. A cup of chopped onions, and what I think was a yogurt sauce came with my Cevapi which added more flavor and an overall goodness to the Cevapi. A bread similar to a pita made eating Cevapi easy, and filling. The Sirnica was equally delicious. A wonderful mix of flaky, chewy phyllo pastry, and cheese baked inside the pastry. It definitely hit the spot with a nice balance of a light pastry and mild cheese. I ate the leftover half cold, and it was just as good! The lady at the counter was friendly, and patient with me. The menu is truly a deli menu full of sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. If you're wanting to go for the House Specials, you won't be disappointed!

They have a couple of tables inside for dining and we chose the one closest to the coffee bar. The one employee there took our order and made our food right next to us at the counter/kitchen set up located behind the register. We did see several takeout orders get picked up while we were there. My mom had the gyro salad and I ordered an Italian with no onions or dressing. My mom was disappointed that the "greens" were actually chopped romaine and/or iceberg. The gyro meat was flavorful and had a nice crisp to the outside and the homemade dressing was delicious. The Italian was also decent. I'm picky when it comes to hoagie rolls and this baguette was soft and fresh. I typically prefer more of a crisp exterior, but this was fine. The meat and toppings were fresh and the sandwich was served with a small bag of Lay's on the side. Overall, we had a nice experience dining in the small deli, but with so many options in the Pittsburgh area, I can't say we were wowed enough to be repeat customers.

I'd rather drive out of state than have to cross a bridge and tunnel to get somewhere so I only stopped twice when at a nearby meeting. Decades back, my best friend lived right up the street. This was practically an extension of their own house. They were there often. Often is an understatement. I'd get off from work and knew where I could find friends. Here. I'd often stop and pick up something on my way home to the South Side Slopes. I recognize that its been a long, long time since I lived in the Southern Side of the city. I haven't been here regularly in years. I still enjoy stoping by. The last few times, the service was - I hate to say this- not good. I really do hate to say that. The reason people loved this place was because Louie, Toni, & their staff were friendly and made it an experience. Long gone are staff that made anyone in Pgh feel welcome. The last 2 stops in, I felt like an inconvenience. My orders weren't correct each time. One was a to go order. I specifically asked for things to be done a certain way because I was ordering for my husband & kids. I chalked it up to the time of day & blamed myself. I did not look it over since I was trying to beat traffic... this is a classic place. It has to be me. Not them. I had an hour break and decided to stop in. Again, staff ignored me when I ordered. It took up that entire time to get served. It was awkward. My meal was lackluster, at best. My mind wants to believe in this place and that their stuffed bananas, zucchini and chicken sandwiches will never change- but I think they have. At this point, I don't see myself going anytime soon intentionally. If a friend were to ask us to join them, I would.

Display cases were full of baked goods such as cookies, cake pops, cupcakes, cruffins, tarts, cakes, breads. I have been to the Mediterranean, and I thought that most of the baked goods here were not Mediterranean. While I waited in a slowly moving line of other customers to order from the bakery, I browsed the shelves in the market. I saw cheeses, bottled beverages such as wines, packaged foods such as grape leaves, and chocolates. I could not find price tags on all foods, so I recommend that those be added. I purchased three baked goods for a total of $15. I rate the croissticky as 5 stars, the cinnamon roll as 3.5 stars, and the raisin-oatmeal cookie as 4 stars.
