The closest Filipino market to us and it serves us well when dad quickly decides he wants Filipino food. Their fast food area is full of delicious items and their shelves are always stocked with what we need. The one thing I regret is not learning how to speak Tagalog so I can converse with the other Filipinos.

Filipino grocery store, medium size on the western part of Long Beach. Has pretty much all that you would need for filipino cooking. It has a large meat/fish counters in the back. The have a small space in the front where you can buy Luisa & Son bakery goods. Prices seem a bit higher than some of the other big grocery chains (seafood city, island pacific). They have a small restaurant to the side, with classic dishes like pancit, pata, and shanghai style eggrolls. Was hoping for some fried mackrel....next time.

Went back and had salmon and tokwat baboy. Both were not great. Good amount of food but lacking severely in flavor, and surprisingly, the salmon didn't taste like it had any salt. I will probably still be back, but I won't ever get those 2 entrees ever again from there.

And again, I bought an expired item on the shelf! Management needs to be hands on and check every single item/product they have.

I'm giving this place 1 STAR only. Do not buy they're jeprox & ponny fish. You want to stay alive stay away from this salty unhealthy items. Called the Manager today, 1/5/2022 @ 10:55al name Leroi. Poor customer service. He was worrying about me getting a refund that his job. If no customer, no job. My money just trown in the trash. Images below I do not recommend this market. You can by @ Island pacific those item they're not salty.

I ate at the point point establishment inside Tambuli Supermarket but there's no entry for it on Yelp - so this review is just for the Supermarket. The food joint would be a 3 star review as it wasn't bad - but I had better nearby. But I haven't found any place nearby that compares to Tambuli. Memories from my childhood came rushing back as I saw what this place carries in stock. From sardines to the mangoes to rice cookers to things I don't remember the name to. I felt the prices were great however, I have to say that I don't shop at many Filipino Supermarkets so I don't have much to compare this place to. I just know that I know where I can find particular items when I have specific cravings.

before i explain what we see in the photos, i want to say that tambuli is my family's go to for an asian supermarket. for everything!!!!! we've been shopping here for more than 10 years. til this year, i have been seeing things i wished i hadn't. these pictures have been taken roughly last month or two. i was cooking kare kare and had purchased these eggplants. while i was checking the stove my sister's bf was helping me cut up some long purple eggplants. we were shook seeing this worm!!! it appeared to be either dead or something but due to the discoloration and how big the worm is, it's been there forever. as for the oranges, i was checking them out looking fir some fruits. then i see this box of moldy oranges :( pretty disgusting... i think the manager needs to seek a new reputable supplier and/or employees should double check the stock every single day before customers like me see them.

I've been going to these types of Pinoy markets since the 1980's and this year i just found out about Tambuli. (Sorry i've lived in the SF Valley and LA City Limits more of my life so it was always Lorenzana Foods, DJ Market, Golden Bay Seafood, 99 Ranch aka the Aquarium, and Seafood City) Tambuli looks a bit run down but you are coming here not for aesthetics! You are coming here for those funky fresh ingredients that you won't find at Big Saver down the street or the Albertson's across the 710. I come here for the Fried Tilapia (you pick your Tilapia and they gut, descale, and clean it up) and go to the produce section for onions, datu puti (white vinegar), and tomatoes. Don't forget to grab some steam rice at the turo turo places (also in the same market in which you point at what you want). If you want to go crazy and shoot up your blood pressure go get some shrimp paste to have with your fried tilapia. Parking is ample and safe. Don't be intimidated by the old Filipino dudes hanging out in front (even though some of them probably killed a lot of enemies in the jungles of the Philippines in WWII) All those guys in the front are hanging out and catching up on gossip and the Philippines

When my mom comes to visit, I have to take her to this place, and today, they had LIVE BLUE CRAB! This lady had the biggest smile on her face. It's hard to actually find out when thy get this specialty, how many, and what time... but when they bring it out, you better hurry because these Filipino ladies are CRAZY!

I come here looking for specific things like natural maple syrup and high quality flour. I tend to not get fruits and I tend to find more items here from small businesses than brand name spots, so I'll sporadically find things here to impulse buy. They also have lots of prepared self-service hot foods and a poke bar if you want a meal to go. My favorite thing here are their fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, priced at $3.75. They sell so many of them, that they're constantly putting out fresh batches. I've come in four times this year for it and it's been hot and fresh every time! I find that outstanding as I've been to stand alone bakeries with cookies that weren't as fresh as they are here. The cookie is massive and has high quality ingredients you can taste. It's as good of a chocolate cookie as you can find anywhere. Come get some, because if they keep up the high turnover, then I can keep eating them hot and fresh!

I've had issues with the fresh cheese cut in-store, which unfortunately tasted off and had a strong ammonia-like flavor. I will be returning it tomorrow for a refund. This experience has put me off buying their fresh cheeses going forward. I'm also not particularly impressed with the pre-cooked deli selection. There are frequent things that make me hesitate to purchase, such as a recent fish dish that was heavily overdone with capers to the point it felt unbalanced. That said, I do still come in occasionally because they carry some hard-to-find items. I've found excellent coffee here, and I've enjoyed their crab cakes. Customer service has also been very mixed. I had a particularly unpleasant experience with a cashier who had a poor attitude when I was overcharged for an item that was marked differently on the shelf than what I was charged. I went back to show the original price tag, even retrieving the torn portion to demonstrate it matched. Despite this, I was treated as if I might be trying to manipulate the price over a difference of about two dollars. There was no apology, just a dismissive and rude demeanor. The correction was eventually made, but it was handled awkwardly, and I was handed multiple receipts while my original receipt for other purchases was not returned. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed, not because of the pricing issue itself, but because of how it was handled. Overall, I still stop in for a few specialty items, but my confidence in consistency and customer service has definitely been affected. The ambiance of the store is nice. The parking lot it can often be a nightmare.

The majority of the staff I have encountered--outside of one kind gentleman who is technically a third-party representative and not directly employed by the Aldi brand--have been truly unprofessional. Although there is no excuse for this behavior, it does not appear to stem from dissatisfaction with their jobs. In fact, many of the employees seem content. Rather, it is the attitude and manner in which certain clientele are treated that comes across as distasteful and disrespectful. On multiple occasions, I have witnessed and experienced childish tactics from employees. This has included making comments such as, "You better move out of the way," as customers are navigating the aisles. There have also been instances where employees appeared to aggressively toss or move boxes directly beside customers as they were attempting to pass by. While I understand that inventory stocking occurs throughout the day, there are professional standards and common courtesy practices that should be maintained during business hours. From time to time, there are also aggressive customers who behave as though they are entitled to bully others simply because they believe they can. Example: The cart return area has three lines for customers to choose from. On one of these occasions, I was placing my cart back and gathering my groceries when, out of nowhere, I saw another customer mad-dashing toward where I was standing. She then aggressively started yelling, name-calling, shouting, and scoffing in the most unladylike fashion. She gestured that she needed to return her cart; mind you, there were two or three other lanes that were open and available. Yet, she was insistent upon badgering me to drop everything I was doing during my grocery experience to appease her ill repute. Absolutely not. I am unsure whether she may have been attempting to scam me, as she was desperately trying to get me to leave my fully loaded shopping cart unattended, exposing my wallet and groceries. The security who had been on duty and watching the incident did nothing to prevent further harassment. Noting, a continuation of "selective" targeting and job performance. I've also noticed that some of the security will abandon their position to go stand in certain areas of the store and touch store product. I found this odd as I do not see how that is conducive to their "supposed" role of providing safety. Unfortunately, the negative attitudes displayed by some employees seem to mirror this same energy, creating an unnecessarily uncomfortable shopping environment. Nonetheless, I genuinely enjoy the Aldi brand and appreciate the products they offer. For that reason, I will likely continue shopping at this location. However, it would be in Aldi's best interest to address the conduct of some of the individuals representing the business. Improved professionalism, stronger customer service standards, and greater accountability would significantly enhance the overall shopping experience.
