Tambuli is a Filipino market located near Santa Fe and Willow, I was in search for sambal and siracha and after 5 different stores; Seafood city, Ralphs, Walmart, 99 ranch and Food4less, I was finally successful!! Thank you for having it in stock! They have a produce, meat and fish section, all looked good. They also carry lumpia, milk fish and ube ice cream in the freezer section. Of course, noodles, sauce packets and drinks. I am very disappointed going to TAMBULI Supermarket. Today, the day before New Year, my sister and I went grocery shopping. The cashier, Cejey, was very nice and friendly. However, when we got home and checked our receipts, we both noticed that we were charged for an extra item. I'm not sure if this was just a mistake, but for it to happen to two different people raises some concerns. It feels intentional. I tried calling the number on the receipt to file a complaint, but no one answered. This is not a good practice. While it may only amount to a few dollars, it adds up when it happens to multiple customers. So, buyers beware! If you are purchasing items in different quantities, make sure to double-check that you are being charged correctly. I bought Super Q Golden Bihon, originally priced at $1.99 each but was on promotion for 3 for $5.00. I was charged for a fourth item. My sister had a different receipt; she bought 2 Dari Cream Classics and was charged for 3. Tambuli Management, please provide an honest service or make sure, your workers are honestly charging people. We work hard for our money just to be cheated when we buy our groceries in your store. Filipino grocery store, medium size on the western part of Long Beach. Has pretty much all that you would need for filipino cooking. It has a large meat/fish counters in the back. The have a small space in the front where you can buy Luisa & Son bakery goods. Prices seem a bit higher than some of the other big grocery chains (seafood city, island pacific). They have a small restaurant to the side, with classic dishes like pancit, pata, and shanghai style eggrolls. Was hoping for some fried mackrel....next time. read more

Went back and had salmon and tokwat baboy. Both were not great. Good amount of food but lacking severely in flavor, and surprisingly, the salmon didn't taste like it had any salt. I will probably still be back, but I won't ever get those 2 entrees ever again from there. read more

I ate at the point point establishment inside Tambuli Supermarket but there's no entry for it on Yelp - so this review is just for the Supermarket. The food joint would be a 3 star review as it wasn't bad - but I had better nearby. But I haven't found any place nearby that compares to Tambuli. Memories from my childhood came rushing back as I saw what this place carries in stock. From sardines to the mangoes to rice cookers to things I don't remember the name to. I felt the prices were great however, I have to say that I don't shop at many Filipino Supermarkets so I don't have much to compare this place to. Groceries are over priced, bad customer service. I also used to like coming to the canteen inside the store but lately they've been messing up my orders. They have good food, so we like to order trays for parties. Last time I ordered a tray of egg rolls the lady was so confused, she was asking around, and no one knew what was going on. I had called two days in advance to place the order and when I get there they didn't even know about my order so I had to wait for it to be cooked. The last time I placed an order I called the day before and placed the order for the afternoon. I get there and they look confused again! They talk to each other and finally tell me "we gave away the egg rolls because pick up time was in the morning and you never showed up." The party I went to was at 4pm. Why would I schedule a pick up time for the morning? I told them I scheduled it for the afternoon but they told me I was wrong because I scheduled it for the morning. before i explain what we see in the photos, i want to say that tambuli is my family's go to for an asian supermarket. for everything!!!!! we've been shopping here for more than 10 years. til this year, i have been seeing things i wished i hadn't. these pictures have been taken roughly last month or two. i was cooking kare kare and had purchased these eggplants. while i was checking the stove my sister's bf was helping me cut up some long purple eggplants. we were shook seeing this worm!!! it appeared to be either dead or something but due to the discoloration and how big the worm is, it's been there forever. as for the oranges, i was checking them out looking fir some fruits. then i see this box of moldy oranges :( pretty disgusting... i think the manager needs to seek a new reputable supplier and/or employees should double check the stock every single day before customers like me see them. read more

I've been going to these types of Pinoy markets since the 1980's and this year i just found out about Tambuli. (Sorry i've lived in the SF Valley and LA City Limits more of my life so it was always Lorenzana Foods, DJ Market, Golden Bay Seafood, 99 Ranch aka the Aquarium, and Seafood City) Tambuli looks a bit run down but you are coming here not for aesthetics! You are coming here for those funky fresh ingredients that you won't find at Big Saver down the street or the Albertson's across the 710. I come here for the Fried Tilapia (you pick your Tilapia and they gut, descale, and clean it up) and go to the produce section for onions, datu puti (white vinegar), and tomatoes. Don't forget to grab some steam rice at the turo turo places (also in the same market in which you point at what you want). If you want to go crazy and shoot up your blood pressure go get some shrimp paste to have with your fried tilapia. Parking is ample and safe. Don't be intimidated by the old Filipino dudes hanging out in front (even though some of them probably killed a lot of enemies in the jungles of the Philippines in WWII) All those guys in the front are hanging out and catching up on gossip and the Philippines read more

This place is the best Asian hole in the wall supermarket l..lots of variety of fresh fish, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables along with your canned foods and packaged goods.. my kids love the Panda cookies and sure to find them here. it has a fast food area which I have not tried because it doesn't look clean all up for grabs let me know how it goes.. they speak their language but can communicate with you I'm not madd. If you close your eyes for a second, inhale the funky breeze, you have just visited a piece of the Philippines that only the true can create. A rooms for rent advertisement board outside, a side pharmacy with Filipino beauty products, a stanky ass meat/seafood section and a little restaurant embedded inside just in case you get hungry (seating included). I take my Lola here two or three times a month for her grocery shopping. This is an Asian market, so be prepared for the smell of an Asian market when you enter. If you can get past that, you're in for a real treat. They have everything from rice cookers, Sky Flakes, mahjong tables, steamers, to kitchen utencils ... and for the true pinoys/pinays, they have those little plastic pails with one handle that you use in the Philippines to bathe with (love those). My Lola buys her fish and meat here and it's very convenient for the elderly since the bus stop is literally outside the front door. Their oxtail is good, the price for the meat and poultry is much cheaper than American grocery stores. Examine your produce carefully (I saw moldy cauliflower once). I will admit, they don't always have the freshest food, but if you go home and cook/eat it right away, you should be ok. They have my favorite Chin Chin Green Tea with Honey and I always buy the entire shelf when I go. Hopefully they'll stock up before my next trip. :) read more

The only reason I'm giving this place 5 stars is because it's the only market I know that sells Tisanes Thai Tea in a can! Every other place sells it in a glass bottle, but the can is actually a better deal. Other than that, this is just another ordinary Filipino market. read more

Was in the hood for Thanksgiving and needed a pumpkin pie. Stopped at Tambuli Supermarket on the way to Albertsons, via the trusty GPS. We thought: how could a big market like this NOT have pumpkin pies on Thanksgiving Day? We thought wrong. Were greeted by the group of old Filipino guys hanging out. Greeted by their stares - not cold stares, but stares nontheless. We enter inside and the place is packed full of narrow aisles and shelves, just like a HoodMart should. We find a table stand covered in pies - but they were all coconut pies. No pumpkin. At $8.50 they'd better be good. Three hours later we try the pie, but it was from bland land. So glad that others brought pumpkin pie, at two for $7.00 from Albertsons, we were told. Maybe I shed a little bit of karma by the experience. I hope so, 'cause Samsara is getting tedious. I'll give 'em three stars so as not to drag down their rating; I'm sure their BBQ pork hits the spot. It just wasn't the right time for me. read more

So we ordered pancit palabok, beef steak, and that veggie dish (squash, string beans, and coconut milk) - don't know what it's called. All of them were really good, but the beef steak had too much oil. Then again Filipino food isn't exactly "healthy." Tab came out to almost $32. Really? I needed Filipino groceries but didn't feel like driving out to Cerritos as it gets super busy and trafficky. I went here for a change and I didn't really like it. It's pretty dirty and unorganized. They also sell some expired stuff, and they don't offer plastic bags (or at least I didn't get any!). Good thing Island Pacific opened up recently in Signal Hill - which is a newer, cleaner, and nicer FIlipino market in the LBC. read more

Caution about ordering online. They graciously took my money on 1 Dec but to date have not received the item(s) or the refund that I requested initially by email on two different occasions (no response) and by direct telephone with the "manager." The irony is that the manager told me they were not set up to accept online orders but yet this was not noted or explained on their web-site and they had no trouble accepting electronic payment. Question: how can you set-up a web based business and accept payment for goods/services that are not as yet formally operational (based on the 'managers' own statement)? As of 1/28 they still have my money. I contested the charges with my local bank and their fraud department is currently investigating the issue. The amount owed is not significant, its more the principle! No telling how many others may have been similarly affected. read more

This venue falls short of anything great! It's a typical Asian market, but doesn't seem to be well maintained. Parking here is quite awkward because they have a limited front area parking, and a large parking area in the back but looks dilapidated. Upon entrance there's a lot of disorganized items just sitting in the front of the venue making it seem very cluttered. There is limited staff, aisles are very small, and items look disorganized. There is also a small restaurant inside and lines can start to form causing a lot of backup in the venue. Checkout process is very slow as most of the employees don't speak a lot english and they talk to customers for a long time. Nothing great here. read more

It's not as big as seafood city market but this place has pretty much a lot of filipino snacks, seafood, veggies and frozen filipino treats. So it's not too bad.
