Of course, my daughter ordered the cold noodles, her bf ordered the Cabbage Galbi-Tang, and my son ordered the pork katsu, while I ordered the Octopus Rice Plate. The three weren't thrilled with what they got. They ate it because they were starving but they weren't satisfactorily content. I thought the Octopus Rice Plate was good, nothing spectacular like the one we had at Seoul Haus, but it was delicious. It was tasty and I enjoyed the sunny side up egg on top that Seoul Haus didn't have. However, it wasn't as flavorful and spicy as Seoul Haus prepared it. We also ordered their Gyoza for starters. I didn't taste it as I enjoyed munching on the banchans a lot more, but the kids thought it was just ordinary and comparable to a store-bought gyozas from H-Mart. As for the banchans, I really liked that they had three of my favorite banchans: potato salad, fishcake, and pickled seaweed. This was the highlight of the meal. It is one they have better than Seoul Haus. Not only that the banchan options were great, the refills were generous as well. This place is definitely a good option if you're looking for Korean soups, they have more options than most places when in comes to slurpables. Overall, I much prefer to go back to Seoul Haus. I really don't understand how their average yelp reviews are so high. Looking at the newest reviews, they are not high. I wanted to like this restaurant. It's located in a good location, some of my friends used to come here to hang out. I truly support local business, but there could be so much better business in this spot for the community. I came here three times to give a chance.. but none of them was a good experience. I always find them overly priced but not good, and servers were always rude, not caring, and just want tips. So It has been a very long time since i visited. Then my husband wanted to have samgyetang. He has been stressed and exhausted, so i wanted to give him a good one. I was gonna go to the one in Garden Grove, but he insisted that he want to order from here because it was close to our home. I didn't expect it would be good, but it was his food, his choice. And yeah, i was right. It was terrible. Samgyetang means chicken soup with ginseng. Usually people find this for stamina when they feel sick or exhausted. There was no ginseng, no fragrance of ginseng, or no any other ingredients that would help the stamina or even the flavor of the soup. It was just chicken carelessly dipped in the msg soup. There was one or two dates, and nothing else. The chicken was so small, there wasn't much meat. $19+tax. I came here with my boyfriend on a Saturday and there was no wait for dine-in, but there was a good number of people waiting around for their to-go orders. I saw the same Fan Tuan delivery guy twice! When you enter, they check your temperature. They also seat the bulk of their dine-in customers in the patio area in front. Inside the restaurant, they open about every other table only in the booths. Food is still tasty as ever. I ALWAYS get the Galbi Tang. It's really rich, hearty and flavorful. I tried some of the Yukkejjang as well, and it's very rich since it has beef (unlike yukkejjang at other restaurants I've tried). This place could be perfect if they offered some appetizer/small plate selections to their menu like priced between $6-$12! I always want to order another option for the table but it can be pricey if you just rapid order. We always order either the #1, #9, or #16 soups which are absolutely delicious. I supplement by getting extra meat since it's only 3-4ish dollars for the #1. The prices seem steep for people who normally do not eat Korean soups. I am not sure how a bowl of pho costs $9-$12 and Korean soups are usually 60/70% more. Regardless, we still keep coming back, the food is great. The service is great. It's quick and efficient. All the side dishes are delicious, I like the potato salad and kimchi the best. I recommend it. Not my normal go to korean soup restaurant, but Tang190 has a lot of things going for it that I like, namely outdoor seating. On a gorgeous California evening, when it's temperate out, wearing a sweater and tucking into a bowl of galbi tang is like heaven on earth as it warms the soul and you don't get that experience even at more reknowed LA spots since they don't have the outdoor seating. The galbi tang here is excellent. Tender beef ribs in a clear, clean well seasoned broth. The dipping sauce is also excellent as it provides punchy contrast to the fatty, silky meat. The banchan is also great - good variety between seaweed salad, potato salad, pickled daikon, kimchi and stir fried fish cake. Mix and match bites to your hearts content. Also, don't sleep on the mandu. Of all the places I've been, I don't think I've had better fried mandu anywhere. They are pristine, golden deep fried specimens that are juicy but shatteringly crisp. The server spill the soup on me and got me ice, but didn't give any compensation for a burn. The kitchen forget one of the order for someone at my party. The customer service here is above and beyond!!! I ordered door dash last night (mool naengmyun -cold noodle and samgye-tang- chicken soup). Unfortunately, the door dash driver only handed me the cold noodle only. I immediately called the restaurant and spoke to Richard (manager -I am assuming) who was kind enough to help find a solution and said I can come the next day or so and get my soup and he apologized sincerely. Even a branded paper cover over the soup spoon. Now about that spoon---I felt like I was using a teaspoon in a bucket---it took awhile to spoon out any decent amount of broth into my bowl. I suggest a ladle for the table! Also, because a lot of the entrees have humongous bones, unless you want them strewn all around the paper placemat, please give us an empty bowl for bones! Also, the service is slow. We only had 2 other tables to compete for their attention. We had to flag them down for more napkins and also to pay. Their takeout and delivery orders are brisk so we were in the minority as far as priority. We had to improvise on juggling our bones, and pouring the soup directly into our rice bowls. I've been here twice in the past month for lunch with coworkers (outdoor dining). Tried the hot stone bulgogi and the back rib soup. Both were really, really good. For me, bulgogi is bulgogi. I can't differentiate one restaurant's bulgogi with another. They all taste the same to me. But there's something about serving it on a hot stone plate with some white rice that just blows other bulgogis out of the water! This is honestly our absolute favorite place to get galbi tang. First time trying their spicy cold noodle and these peppers really pack a punch. It's so flavorful but soooo much spice. (Partially gave me a heartburn I think..) Not as good as this Korean place I used to go to in RH but it curbs the cravings. The soup is the best in town in our opinion! The service was good and the servers were nice, however I think they don't have too much staff, so it was a little slow when we needed things. The environment is nice. It's in a plaza and the restaurant is clean. There are not a lot of inside seats but luckily they have outdoor seating. The wait wasn't too long when I was there, but can be since it's quite popular. Food tasted great! Flavors were strong and pretty authentic. Portions are pretty good size. You could get maybe 60- 70% full from 1 dish, so may be needing 2 if you want to be full forsure. They also have a large outdoor patio in front so lots of outdoor seating. It was a bit odd though cuz when we went inside to ask for a table outside, the guy told us to grab a paper menu and sit wherever outside and then come back inside to his counter to order....the food came out fast and was pretty good so couldn't really complain but the prices are a tad bit in the high side for korean food... Contrary to previous reviews, I thought all the employees were very kind and I had no issues during my dining experience. The galbi tang always hits thanks to the vinegar sauce they have on the side, but the octopus hotstone rice was quite average especially for the price. I was scared to come here at first because I read that a customer was met with aggression when asking for more banchans, but I did not share that experience. Their banchans are pretty solid. You're able to get in line through Waitlist (on Yelp) so that makes things a bit easier. When we were seated, the staff greeted us with a smile and we had hot teas to complement our soups. Ordered a spicy beef soup and the back rib soups, and both broths were flavorful and delicious. It definitely hit the spot on this "cold" SoCal "winter" day. 3.5/5 stars for this experience: Simple menu, simple restaurant, and pretty yummy Korean soups! I got the back-rib soup. This dish was a hearty and flavorful soup that comes with 4 pieces of meat, noodles, and a bowl of rice. Some parts of the meat were tender and juicy, but other parts were a little dry. The meat also lacked flavor. However, looking at the restaurant's more detailed menu online, it looks like there was supposed to be a mustard dipping sauce. I do remember seeing a mysterious sauce that came out with the banchan, but did not realize it was the dipping sauce that comes with my soup. The menu we received at the restaurant didn't have descriptions, and the waiter did not tell me what the sauce was for. Since the sauce came out with the banchan, I assumed it was a sauce to be used for the banchan (I'm still new with eating Korean food!). In the future, the sauce should be brought out with the soup so that it's clear for the customers what the sauce is used for. We are a party of three and we came for lunch. Like the small dishes, especially the seaweed dish (not spicy). Beef tendon soup: you need to add salt yourself but I like it that way. Soup is tasty but not much of anything else in the soup other than few pieces of beef tendons and some rice noodles. I tend to like thick broth and this one is just right. (3.5 star for me.) Rice with octopus: it's tasty. My partner likes the octopus but said there are only few pieces and the rice is too moist and soft (I tried some and it's fairly okay for me). She gives a 3-star for the dish. Pork cutlet or Katsu pork in Japanese restaurant: we like it. A nice blend of Crispy breaded outside and juicy pork inside. Comes with curry and ponzu like source.
