Tang Jip has become one of my and my husband's go-to spots for Korean food. We've been here multiple times and we always leave satisfied and close to bursting at the seams! We grabbed a quick lunch on Sunday and got the following: + Seafood Pajeon -- Crispy, and super filling from the mixed seafood. Delicious everytime! (9/10) + Dolsot Bibimbap with Chicken -- steaming hot until the very end of the meal. Pro-tip: leave the bowl sitting for an additional 10-15 mins before eating. This will ensure your rice at the bottom of the bowl is perfectly crispy! (8/10) + Japchae -- My husband literally cannot eat Korean food without a serving of these delicious noodles! (7.5/10) + Soondubu jjigae with beef -- Warm, comforting, flavorful and spicy. (8.5/10) + Various banchan -- Our faves are always the fish cake and broccoli. My husband and MIL don't eat spicy, so the kimchi was a no for them. But I loved the garlicky radish kimchi, and the cabbage kimchi is a must for any Korean meal! (8/10) Some of our other favorites here are the Galbi jjim, the nangmyeon, and the bulgogi. Will definitely be coming back to try their bossam next time! This resto has a good amount of tables and the service is always so attentive and friendly! Your food is delivered to your table with the help of an automated robot (so cute!) and your server. New MGMT seems to be in town with new staff and different recipes. We received no service at all, staff was on phone a lot, we requested multiple times for additional side dishes and rice, requests were ignored. The only time service was fast and prompt was when we finished our food, the bill came extremely extremely fast. Our galbi was extremely burned as well, we lost half of the $36 dollar dish just by cutting out the inedible parts We are never coming back, the local Korean mom and pop shops are much more friendly and provide a better dining experience. read more

Absolutely Baffled by the 4-Star Rating - This Is Not a Real Restaurant How is it even possible that this place has a 4-star rating? It doesn't even deserve to be called a restaurant. Here's what we ordered -- and why we were completely shocked: Seafood Pancake (해물파전) They served us a reheated pre-made pancake. Yes, reheated. While it tasted okay, reheating a premade dish like this is completely unacceptable at a sit-down restaurant. Cheese Tteokbokki (치즈 떡볶이) Again, clearly reheated from a pre-made batch. Do they think no one would notice? The texture and flavor were off -- it was obvious. Chicken Bulgogi + Soon Tofu Combo (닭불고기 + 순두부) The chicken was pale, white, and smelled awful. It looked completely unappetizing. We asked them to add some spicy sauce just to make it edible. While the sauce improved the look, the foul smell never fully went away. It was barely tolerable. Bibim Naengmyeon (비빔냉면) I've never seen anything like this in my life. It came with noodles tossed in what seemed like just sesame oil and soy sauce. No gochujang. No proper flavor. Just wrong on every level. This place has no business serving Korean food, let alone running a restaurant. I honestly believe if only Korean customers left reviews, this place would barely scrape by with a 1-star average -- if that. Great Food!! A welcoming new restaurant at the Park 'n Shop Asian Strip Mall on Willow Pass! We tried this new Korean spot for the first time today and it's very good. Nice, clean and roomy seating; friendly and efficient service, and most of all - very good food. This was my first time trying Beef Brisket Tong and the soup was very light and creamy. The brisket paired very well and the dish overall was a nice compliment to a cold day. I've been to Tang Jip four times and it's a banger each time. This is my go-to Korean spot in the Concord/Walnut Creek area. My favorite I ALWAYS get is the rose tteokbokki. Love the rice cake noodle shape and the sauce has a nice kick to it. A spicy food lover's dream. We also got a beef tofu soup - extra spicy. And the dolsot bbimbimbap. This Korean place went way beyond our expectations! I would give them a 4.5 but honestly the 5 deserves it because they were so kind and even allowed me to get extra slices of just meat (charged of course) as I wanted to finish the radishes that was part of the original meal the waiter was also very kind and honest with us. we got their rosé tteokbokki and it was a little bit spicier than anticipated but still pretty good. The bone broth soup was also quite delicious. We also got a pig foot dish I believe? Which was done quite nicely. They had a lot of options and they were very generous with the sides (kimchi, broccoli, fish tofu). We are definitely coming again and I recommend this place for anyone looking for some good Korean food with nice options. We have been going there regularly since it became "Tang Jip" at least 2-3 times a month if not some times once a week (so at least few years or so x amount of visits). We always order Galbijjim (갈비찜) which is and was pricy but good. There were times it wasn't as good but at one point, the Galbijjim there was just SO GOOD. In the last few months (May 2025 now), the galbijjim has been REALLY AWFUL. Considering it's about around $73, you would expect that particularly should be always good. Couple months ago, it was soooo bad we had to send it back (and we are the type of people who would just eat even if it's "pretty bad"). When it came back them saying "refreshed", it was as bad as the first one on that day. It was like stewed in a plain dark soy sauce for hours instead of it's "marinated". So it was so dark, so salty, and not soft. Because we used to LOVE their galbijjim, we decided to give it another try (since it became bad not when it used to be really good). Because we love food there. This time, it was as bad as the last time and plus, lesser portions (I get sometimes either restaurants need to raise price for the portion or decrease the portion for the price) but for $73 (small size even), it was a crap. Not to mention it was still bad bad bad and bad. We decided to give a third try at Tamgjip (about a month later because in between we went to Deaho Kalbijjim which opened pretty much next door in the same mall area where Tang Jip is and it was SO GOOD, Plenty pint of meats FOR the PRICE) because we were hoping better food. NOPE. It was still so bad. Tang Jip's Kalbijjim is no longer "traditionally and authentically marinated kalbijjim". It's literally boiled in a plain soy sauce that meat is so dark, so salty, and not worth of the money portion wise (compared what it used to be) It's sad because Tang Jip used to be so good. As a Korean who grew up in Korea, it's so unfortunate. I see many Korean restaurants don't hold up pride and legacy yet so wound up on costs and making money. I loved Tamg Jip because they used to be not like that. Now, they don't seem to really care for serving a great Korean food to customers. Thought we have been going there for many years, we don't think we will return unless food quality gets better (cooks and owner's genuine care and discipline). I'm emphasizing Kalbijjim (galbijjim) but I have eaten all other soups and appetizers and those gotten worse too. read more

Boyfie took me here for a dinner date, and WOW I was impressed. Menu prices here are much more affordable compared to other Korean restaurants I've dined in before, yet this was one of the better places that served delicious food! We shared a beef brisket soup and seafood tofu soup, both of which came with rice and banchan (+unlimited refills!) I have never tasted a soondubu broth so clean. The banchan were also incredibly fresh! I especially liked their potato salad, because Tang Jip mixes the potato with kabocha squash to make it sweet. All in all, an amazing place to try out. I would happily make the drive all the way from Daly City to dine at Tang Jip again. BONUS: there are also quite a few dessert shops around the corner for a convenient sweet stop after! read more

This has been my favorite Korean restaurant in the East Bay, purely for the banchan that you get. The kimchi is always perfect in the flavor, fermentation levels, and seasoning. I wasn't as big a fan of their yukaejang as it wasn't as soupy as I prefer, but I really enjoyed the rich bone broth of the sulangtang. Their galbi plate is also good too. Entrees get served by a robot that carry the dishes, and you can also ask for free hot barley tea with your water. read more

One of my favorite Korean spots to go to in Concord that also has mul nangmyeon (cold buckwheat noodle soup). I take everyone here when they want some refreshing cold noodle soup because there aren't that many places in the Bay Area you can find this. I love their food and facility here and makes me feel like I'm in Korea. We got the mul nangmyeon and LA galbi (short rib) combo. Also added a spicy pork bibimbap. We also had to get some soju and beer. This is one of my favorite spots that has all of the dishes and stews. My dad likes their tofu soup and they have so many options too. Lots of cute touches in this restaurant, like a delivery robot who accompanies a server to take food to your table, and the modern decor with sanitizing wipes available at every table. Not all Korean places offer stone pot bibimbap, so I was excited to see it on the menu! It came piping hot, with crispy rice on the bottom, and the chicken was grilled and seasoned well - you could really appreciate the taste of the chicken when it isn't drenched in a sauce. While you wait for the food, they give you five delicious banchan: bean sprouts, kimchi, spicy radish, broccoli, and fish cake. Service is friendly and fast. They have lunch specials too. read more

We went here during their soft opening & am glad to taste everything they have in their menu today. We are a party of 8 & we were seated right away. We ordered a lot of food & since we are a big company, we ordered 2 of each item- which the server even read back. To our dismay, 1 set if food was only served on half of our table while the 4 of us are still waiting for their set. We followed it through with our server & I don't think she turned in 2 orders of each food :-( anyways, we just shared to everyone what was served & they served the other half when everyone was finished eating- so we had a lot of to go. We found this place and started to come to this restaurant at the beginning of summer 2025. Our first experience here was really good! But... As we started to come here more and more, the food quality seemed to be inconsistent, it's good one time and not so good the next. Last night experience was the worst so far. My wife even mentioned, we should go back to our old place (which isn't that great either). One thing that I consistently noticed is the white rice is always bad. Too dry, chewy, or crunchy, and too watery the next. I always thought, how can you screw up white rice??!?! Should have taken pictures from last night. We went to Tang Jip for lunch and loved everything we tried. The banchan were all really tasty and well-marinated, especially the seaweed dish. I got the beef brisket soup, which is perfect for a light meal. It comes with thin noodles and a generous amount of beef, and you can add salt and pepper to your liking. We also ordered the small bossam, which was very tender with the perfect fat-to-meat ratio. The cold noodles were my favorite--the broth was refreshing and the noodles were perfectly chewy, ideal for a hot summer day. The galbi was perfectly marinated and charred. New spot for us cost for a new review from us! Originally I had the intentions of wanting Korean barbecue, where you cook your own meat as you receded. But this as a back up plan worked out pretty well for us along the way. Almost the same concept, but your food comes out ready to eat to you. But they do serve all of the Sides that you would somewhat see at a Korean barbecue style restaurant. The atmosphere here was casual, a lot of talking, but not extremely loud but it is a popular place to visit and eat. For the two of us, we were actually able to order a hot plate that had the spicy Bulgogi and sides for $40 And some soup and that was well more than enough for the two of us to share. We also tried Soji for the first time grape flavor. Can't say that I was really excited to drink it after the first couple of shots as it resembled Robitussin cough medicine to me. I think next time I will partake in Sake. On their table, you'll also find a pack of handy wipes that allows you to keep your hands and face clean throughout your meal. Something I don't think I've ever seen already placed at a table before. They provide you with a small picture or carafe of water, which is nice to drink out of their stainless steel cups keeps everything fresh and chilled. Small location, which may see just under I don't know maybe 100 people but a good spot to stop and catch a bite to eat. It is also located in a well populated shopping center with other restaurants and bakery. The restroom was OK could've been cleaned a little bit better but I did also notice that they provide mouthwash in their restrooms as well. Overall, still a good review. read more

Our party ordered Beef bulgogi with soon tofu, haemul pancake (seafood Korean pancake), combo seolleongtang (brisket meat, ox tail and ox knee) and gamja tang (pork based soup). I wasn't as impressed with the beef bulgogi that I got. It came out on a stone plate but I could tell it wasn't cooked on it since it looked more steamed with no char on it. Other dishes that other customers did though, like the galbi when I looked around. The ox combo soup was tasty according to my buddy and was super enhanced with a whee bit of salt. The pork bone soup was excellent as well! The waiters/waitresses were on it with the side dishes which, surprisingly, were delicious. Loved it! Overall, it was tasty especially the seafood pancake and the bomb dipping sauce it came with. It was a bit slow getting our food since they were not packed but it was good overall. Didn't really stop by our table often and had to flag them down a couple of times but overall it was good. Ambiance was nice, but honestly the TV was a bit distracting even though it was in the back but not loud. But that's not against the service or anything. Green onion pancake Beef bone tang noodle soup Ox bone tang noodle soup Extra rave on the ox bone tang. The broth was thick and milky white, which tells me that the bones were properly simmered for a long time. The flavor was amazing -- so pure and clean. Not overly salty like so many noodle soups and not watered down. Just pure bone flavor. At around $22-25 a bowl, the price is pretty steep, but the extra time that went into making such a deep broth is obvious, and that's what you're paying for. It's hard to find broth like this anywhere. I'm no expert on Korean food but it seems like this place offers some dishes that I haven't noticed at other Korean restaurants. It looks like this restaurant opened up somewhat recently due to how few reviews this place has (at least on yelp) which is a surprise because this place is really good! Tang Jip is located in a huge shopping plaza with various restaurants and other amenities so parking wouldn't really be an issue (unless it's the weekend, then it can get busy). Inside, the place is very spacious with the walkways being wide enough that multiple people can pass through. On each table, they have scissors, spoons, chopsticks, and extra plates so customers can get them with relative ease without asking a server for them. The service was very attentive and making sure that the customers were liking their experience there. The bathrooms were pretty clean from what I saw. Now, onto the food. Banchan (side dishes): An absolute staple in Korean cuisine. The side dishes that I had tasted were extremely fresh and flavorful. I wasn't able to finish them all by myself due to my main entree, but I definitely would've liked to. Dolsot Bibimbap w/ beef: I was very much craving bibimbap for quite awhile now so I'm glad this place had it! It was a very large portion of it so it honestly took me awhile to finish by myself LOL. The dish itself was relatively light in flavor and pretty well rounded in terms of eating your daily intake of protein, carbs, and vegetables. Overall, I would highly recommend this place if you're in town looking for Korean food! While the prices may seem off putting at first, the quality of the food is definitely there so I think it's well worth it. After a quick pastry visit to 85, we were scouting out places to eat at neighboring shops. Soups-Noodles-Rice all looked appetizing BUT Tang Jip caught our eye on a busy Friday night. Restu is big and spacious and ample spots for larger tables and smaller ones for any size party. Servers are very friendly and helpful even when the place got busy, checking on water, and side dishes and if everything tasted ok. A few golfing chingus in the corner enjoying and throwing back some soju and beer, so this place is legit. Already a good scene... Large size portions and fair prices to match. Food is fairly delicious and appetizing! The kid loved their potato & cheese pancake and the very delectable rosé Tteok-bokki! Also enjoyed all the tofu soups and galbi and fried mackerel. Nice new little Korean place to add to the list of ever growing Asian restaurants here in Park & Shop. It's more so a soup place than KBBQ (think like Daeho in SF) so it's a good addition considering most of the popular Korean spots in the area are AYCE KBBQ. I had the BBQ + Soontofu Lunch special. The bulgogi was tasty, and the banchan was all good. As for the Soontofu, the only complaint I have is the flavor is a little bland, but that's just my own personal preference, otherwise it's nice and hearty. I can't really comment much on the service, as I came in while the restaurant was empty sans one other table, but the servers seem nice. One thing I did find amusing was the little robotic tray that follows the server around. Really gives off pet Roomba vibes lol. read more
