We went in because we heard loud singing from the karaoke night inside. I had always walked by it…read morebefore without noticing, but this time it really caught my attention. It's a quaint little bar that hosts different DJs and Karaoke Nights. People were very lively, and all the songs were pretty popular. The drinks themselves were amazing. We got the Mermaid, one of their signatures, but replaced the rum with vodka, and it was genuinely so good. It tasted sweet and paired well with the salt rim. We had a couple of other drinks, such as a Strawberry Mojito, but I can't exactly remember the names of the other drinks, since they made them based on the flavors we wanted. They were extremely well-made drinks, though. The only side note is that the bathroom is a little questionable since it's two toilets in one bathroom, but, nonetheless, Chowk is still a vibe. It can get a little tight if there are a lot of people, since it's a small spot, but the drinks and vibes are worth going in for.

Loved this place and will continue to come back every Saturday…read more I came here specifically to listen to jazz. Every Saturday night, they host a jazz night, starting at 8pm. I love jazz and thought I should stop by and see if it's any good. I was so surprised at how great it was. Going to Chowk, you'll first notice a few things. It feels a bit gimmicky. It's partially the decor, partially the plant wall thing, partially the neon sign. The entire place is set up in a way so that every pic you might post on social media would look great. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's a vibe. The shape of the place makes it feel a bit like a railroad apt. Bar is on the right as you come in, with a couch set up between the windows and the bar. On the left is long wall seating. Small tables as well with stools on the other side. At the far end is a good size stage with a jumbo screen behind it. I looked at their cocktail menu and decided to get a "My Name Is." It was delicious and it's the only cocktail I've gotten on the three visits there. It's a Nepali bar and I've also had one of their Nepali beers which was also good. In regard to the jazz, it was phenomenal. I felt somewhat bad that they don't have the crowd (yet) that they deserve. When you go, there's no doubt you're in the presence of greatness, that these musicians have practiced their entire lives to bring this to you and you're able to just sit there and enjoy it. I felt truely blessed. The staff here is chill and kind and are appreciative of patrons. I can't wait to go back for more. Highly recommend as just a chill vibe cocktail bar and highly recommend for the jazz.

We jumped over to the bar right beside and drank some girly drinks before getting the notification our table was ready. As with nearly every establishment in NYC, it is very close quarters in paradise lost. We stood at a table while waiting for seats at the bar to become available. Which, we didn't mind. I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

Paradise Lost is a speakeasy tiki bar located on 2nd Ave in the East Village. A friend & I went…read morethere after having dinner at Spicy Moon a few blocks away. We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.

Half off select cocktails and appetizers. $7 margaritas, martinis and mojitos all night for Ladies Night. My friends and I had Churrasco skewers, truffle waffle fries, chicken quesadillas, Churrasco quesadillas, loaded waffle fries with shrimp and sweet chili wings. Everything was good! Nothing salty, mushy or lacking flavor. Hookah is $40, cash only and $25 for a refill. The hookah was smooth and long lasting. We really had a great time here. I'll definitely be back over the summer!

Love! I came here…read morewith one of my close girlfriends and have to say it did not disappoint! I was not sure really what to expect. I was curious if this place was a restaurant, a bar, or a lounge. I would say this place is definitely a lounge. The vibe was great, very chill and unpretentious. The drinks were on point and the food was delicious! Their menu is more finger foods and decent bites if you plan to drink. I would like to see 1 or 2 more food menu items added but everything we had was very very good. We had the sampler and it was perfect for us. The DJ was everything! The music was so good. Old school early 2000's hip hop and r&b. But I hear on any given night, the music goes to the vibe of the crowd. The service was fantastic. We had everything we needed and the wait staff was attentive. I will absolutely be coming back here! They have great happy hour during the weekdays and a brunch I want to check out. 10/10 so far.
