Traditional Rice Roll with purple rice

A fantastic spot for a quick, high-quality, authentic Taiwanese breakfast classics. Tao Rice Roll keeps the menu focused and executes everything extremely well. The Traditional Rice Roll is packed with flavor, the Double Egg Pancake was crispy and delicious, and the Salty Soy Milk was comforting and savory. We dined-in, and the restaurant is cozy. Saw lots of folks doing takeout, which was fast and efficient. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend adding Tao Rice Roll your regular rotation without thinking twice. Easy 5 stars.

Been here now multiple times! This time tried the egg pancake and it's huge! I like it but I rather get a rice roll! My cousins for the eel roll and the Tao roll!

I recently visited Tao Rice Roll's new McKinney location. The interior is very similar to the Plano location, though slightly smaller. The space was clean, bright, and welcoming, and the couple behind the counter greeted me as soon as I walked in. I ordered the double egg pancake, meatball soup, traditional rice roll, and soy milk. Everything was served hot and tasted excellent. I will definitely return to try some of the newer menu items.

I'm so excited that Taco rice roll opened in McKinney! Service is fast and efficient. Please if seating and great customer interaction. Very clean, I like this location over the Plano one. Pancake is my favorite so far with side of cold soy milk

I stopped by to pick up some stinky tofu and the popcorn chicken. and it took roughly 10-15 mins for them to make my food. i didn't eat there, and took it to go. You order everything on a ipad kiosk, and one or two people who work in the back will begin to prep your food. out of the two items, the popcorn chicken was definitely the winner. Don't get me wrong, i love good stinky tofu, but it was just alright at this place. The popcorn chicken on the other hand was really good, at least when you get it with medium spice level.

I understand prices for food in general have been going up, but this place is bordering being overpriced. You now order through a Chowbus kiosk, which funnily includes a very strong emphasis on how spicy their seasoning is. They were not kidding with that one, their spicy is REALLY spicy!! I wish they had a better system of notifying you that your order is done though. We were waiting for an almost embarrassingly long time before going up to check if our order was forgotten, just for it to be sitting on the counter unattended. We were some of the only people in the entire food court and sat nearby the restaurant, so we definitely would've heard them if they called our order number out. Overall a decent place for a quick meal.

The hours are great for late night drinks and dinner, and service was very attentive and recommended some great bar food choices! Highly recommend the popcorn chicken, it was made with dark meat and had an extra crunch packed full of flavor. They had bento boxes and dessert similar to Meet Fresh, and it was more of a casual, hang out spot. This new store is next to Ztao and they are more of a sit in restaurant. Their menu was short and when I asked if they had bento boxes, the waitress didn't really understand my question. Their menu consisted of.. 1. Main Entree $14.99 that came with rice, noodles, or congee 2. Soup $3.99 three options 3. Sides $4.99 several options No dessert menu, only a little stand on the table with taro pudding that costed $8.95. We ordered their braised pork chop, daikon meatball soup, and pig ears. Like I mentioned, food was good, but nothing special. You can only order the side and soup if you order one of the main entrees. This new store is nothing like their old store, just fyi.

The soup dumplings ended up having a sweet taste in the soup. The hot and sour soup was not sour at all, and I ended up, doctoring it a bit by asking for some vinegar. I would highly recommend against people ordering this if they're expecting the authentic Asian flavor profile. The beef noodle soup ordered medium spicy was not spicy at all and so next time if I ever go back, I'll have to get their extra spicy. And their tofu noodle soup did not have nearly as much tofu as the picture seemed to make us believe. The one thing I did really like was the wontons in the wonton soup so if I come back, I'll probably just be ordering that. Overall, I think I was expecting a classic Taiwanese flavor profile and was left wanting more.

This place is absolutely made for a group outing, and we're already planning to come back with a group to take full advantage. The food was a delight. The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. A solid spot with great vibes, tasty dishes, and room to grow on us even more with a return visit.
