It took almost as long to get our beers as it did the food. Four corners salad was nothing special...lettuce, jalapeños, Red onion and a sprinkle of cheese, black beans (like 10) and corn. They cook burgers medium and ours were perfect, pink center, juicy burgers with flavorful toppings on good bread. Server Katie was attentive and friendly. The 20% service charge (which I don't object to at all) is disclosed on the menu, on a table tent and by the host when seating you. Very Disappointing. They applied a 20% tip to the bill and the service was poor. We received the wrong flavored beer. Then it took over 1/2 the meal to get silverware. My meal came without the chicken, by the time they remade the meal everyone at the table was already finished and some of the plates already removed. When we got the bill, they charged double for the incorrect beer and charged for both the incorrect meal and the replaced meal. We will not be returning. read more

Really overpriced joint. Not sure why everything is so expensive when the food and service are mediocre at best. I've been twice and the required 20% charge on top of any order is over the top. I typically tip 20% anyways, but to be forced to do so even with poor service just feels wrong. I brought my in-laws here and they were pretty bummed with the way we were treated on top of the cost. Waitress screwed up our bill (added an app we never ordered) was rude and acted like we were inconveniencing her to have it fixed. The endless amount of TVs is a positive, as well as the large number of beers on tap. But there are much better spots in the area that don't charge an arm and a leg for a burger and beer. read more

One of T's favorite restaurants is the Tap and Burger in the Highlands so we were super excited to find out one opened in our hood. We took the kids for dinner on a Sunday night. I ordered the Bacon BBQ burger and he ordered the 'Shroom Lova's. Both tasted the same as we remember it from the other location. We were disappointed they don't offer the foie gras as a burger topping. Not sure if it's not available at this location or if they took it off the menu everywhere. Our server was new so it took a little longer for things but we didn't mind. The manager made her rounds to ensure everything was on point. We even got a free dessert since it was our sons birthday. The restaurant is modern with a big bar and lots of TVs on every wall. We saw a mix of families, couples and groups so good for everyone . My favorite thing = the 90's hip hop that plays at the perfect volume. I caught myself (and others!) singing and rapping along. read more

First and last time here. Food was ok. Happy hour is nothing special as the prices are for smaller portions. Other restaurants have regular size portions for happy hour prices. Our server was good, but we should get to choose the % tip, not forced to a 20% service fee. The manager said it was on the bottom of the menu, but didn't look at the bottom of the menu. Where do I start? Over priced patty melt at $16.50 that would have been mediocre if it didn't have a ton of salt on the burger. If you're going to charge $16.50 for a patty melt it better be one that I could remember and this is one I want to forget. The waiter took our order and delivered it and that was it. He didn't come to our table in between to see how our meal was or to see if we needed any more water. To top it off they put a 20% gratuity onto your bill and if you're paying by credit card they want to see if you put more of a tip onto it. Fortunately they have an area there that you can custom the tip so I put zero. I figure 20% was more than enough for a waiter that took my order and delivered it and a meal that money could've been better spent on McDonald's across the street. We were overcharged for items after they were out of certain things and, due to restaurant policy, were still forced to tip 20%. Ordered a burger and appetizer for take-out. It came out to $32.50 (before fees, more on that below). The burger was okay... absolutely NOT worth $20.50 (a double-smash w/ bacon & fries). The appetizer was a "Bavarian soft pretzel" for $12. The expectation was a big soft pretzel one could pull apart. The reality was a small box of pretzel bites. The location is difficult to maneuver. It's the corner unit of a recently constructed apartment complex on a semi-busy street with absolutely no convenient parking. You'll walk at least a block to get there from the nearest parking space - assuming that nearest space is open. There are no stop signs or traffic lights between the parking and restaurant, so be careful. So we ordered for PICK-UP. We did not sit down, were not served drinks, etc. We did tip. But then noticed on the receipt a $3.50 DELIVERY FEE. I understand the need to pay your people. But that is usually wrapped up in the cost of the food and handled by tips. We didn't tip a great amount because, you know.... the only work they did besides making the food which we assumed was being covered in the cost of the food was handing it to us. So we called and asked, and were told it was just a "service fee". So what is this "Service Fee"? It's common that with large parties or big tabs there's a compulsory gratuity. That's fine. This was one burger and one appetizer. And on top of forcing a "service fee" on us, it still had a place to tip along with the printed table of suggested tip amounts. I think it's fine to ask for a tip, though I'm of the mind that a 20% tip or more is usually for waiters who spend time with you. This was 1 minute in and out to get handed the food. A compulsory fee on top of a regular tip is a bit bold to ask for. Hate to be petty, but if I'm going to spend an additional $8 or $10 on the food I'm doing the work of picking up, I might as well have Door Dashed it to get some value. Overall, it was $41 for a burger and appetizer. A comparable meal with more food could have been had across the street at McDonalds for about $12. read more

Been wanting to try this place since it opened, just hadn't made it over. Stopped in for lunch finally. The place was not too busy. Vibe seemed pretty chill, clean, modern look. Checked out the menu, prices were on the high side for sure, but these days prices anywhere are crazy. Waitress came to the our order and says something like "just so you know we add a 20% surcharge to your bill. If you want to add a tip above that it is up to you..." First I have heard of this type of policy, although I guess there are other places that are starting this. I have sewn where they add a tip of 15$ or so to large parties, which I kind of understand. Anyway, we went ahead and ordered. The food was nothing special. Not really bad, just average. Service was also mediocre. The bill was pretty high for a couple burgers and soft drinks, then they want a tip on top of their surcharge. No, sorry. Won't be back. If you want your staff to be able to make a "living wage", then pay them better. I run a business, I don't ask my customers to pay me a surcharge... I really think they need to rethink this policy. Ordered crispy Buffalo wings and the smash burger with sweet potato tots and everything was really good. Sat at the bar and had amazing, attentive service. We live really close to this place and initially found it to be a great neighborhood restaurant/ bar. The food is great and the service is OK, I get kind of tired of having to ask to have my empty drink refilled. Otherwise we were really happy we had this place so close to home. But now they've been scheduling really loud and annoying trivia and karaoke events quite often. The last time we were there we sat outside to try and get away from the really loud karaoke, but they had a PA speaker out there pumping way louder than what was reasonable. I asked our server if they could just slightly turn it down and was instantly told no. Which was dumb because it was plainly obvious that no one on the patio cared at all about the karaoke. They could have easily just turned the knob on the back of powered speaker down a bit, and we could have had a more relaxing meal. Now, when we want the food from there, we start thinking of other options because the trivia and karaoke are so loud and annoying. We just want a chill neighborhood joint with good food. And we had that for a while, but now our last 3 experiences there have not been relaxing at all. The ambiance has become terrible. Bummed out about it. read more

I just came home from an absolutely horrible meal from Tap and Burger. My burger was over cooked, that it crunched (I ordered it medium rare) and over seasoned. (Too salty). The coleslaw was tasteless. My husband's fries were soggy. His burger was just, "ok". The thing is, that I usually would say something to the server, but I didn't think that it would matter. 2 cans of Craft beer, and I had water. I've been in the restaurant business for many years. When the bill came, we were informed that a 20% service fee had already been added. We have always tipped above and beyond, but for some reason, I was offended by that. Wasn't this a thing during covid? I feel like there should be a sign or notification somewhere. What if someone doesn't want to tip 20%. What if they can't afford to tip 20%? Do they charge for that on takeout orders? If you want to make it a thing, then maybe you shouldn't charge $17.00 for a below average burger. Our total bill came to $58.00. What a waste. First impression are everything, and my first impression of this place was not good. I came in to pick up a to go order that was placed at 3:00, right around 3:20. The bartender couldn't find it, and had the manager check it out. She walks out and says something to the likes of we got it going . I asked if that meant they just started it. She snickers, and says, yeah, you might want to take a seat. Nope. I left. Don't laugh at me having to "take a seat" because you messed up. That was my first, and will be my only experience with that spot. Unfortunately terrible service, and a condescending attitude, are not going to do any service based business any good. read more
