We had drinks and food right at the bar. Mike the bartender offered tastes of the many tap items and we settled on a great choice from a local micro brewery. The place has a good vibe, busy but not crazy. For an appetizer we had the Korean wings. They were outstanding. No need for extra sauces, perfect just the way they came. Next we had the flatbread pizza with arugula and Gorgonzola and the tacos. Very, very good. Attention to service and detail. Great presentation and service. Went in for an early dinner on a Wednesday with my wife. Wasn't busy at all. We were greeted/seated promptly. They have a nice selection of beers and I tried a couple new ones (for me). Food seemed to take a little longer to come out than I would expect as others who ordered after us got theirs first. Perhaps it was what we ordered. I read all the great reviews for the Brussels Sprouts so I tried them and I totally agree they are fantastic! I had the shrimp and grits again and was not disappointed- excellent! The restaurant, inside bar and outside bar were all very busy due to a concert in town so the kitchen was slow. Tap & Vine is a great addition to Wallingford's restaurant scene. Occupying the space of the Old Dublin, Tap & Vine brings high quality American food to town. I had the veggie burger on a pretzel roll with a side salad tossed in a key lime poppy seed dressing. Both were absolutely amazing and must tries. To finish, I had the Chocolate Almond Bread Pudding which was also amazing. My favorite thing of all though? Almost all of the food prepared is homemade, from the burgers to the dressing to the desserts. It's a rarity to find a trait like that. I have nothing bad to say about this establishment. Sat at the Bar and with the help of Heather and Hector (Owner) we worked our way through an incredible Draft Beer line up and a Tremendous menu. By far my favorite restaraunt in the area! The entire menu is amazing, I never know what to pick! The flatbreads incorporate unique ingredients that are all to die for. We ordered the corn and jalapeño hushpuppies and the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. Delicious! The dips were out of this world, and the beer/wine/cocktail selection was really great. The wait was a bit long for it being so empty, but we didn't see how many patrons were outside on the deck area so maybe there were more customers. The entrees we ordered were a bit of a downer. Went here for dinner with my girlfriend and another couple, and can not say enough good things about the quality of the food and the even better staff. We initially sat outside but after a couple rounds of drinks and appetizers it grew too cold for us. The staff was able to clear a table for us last minute and move us inside. May seem like a small thing but given the current climate with reservations and capacity restrictions we were extremely grateful. I stopped in to Tap and Vine on Sunday 2/9/2020 with a friend of mine, at about 1:30 in the afternoon. The restaurant was busy but not to the extend that anyone was waiting to be seated. A woman with dark, long hair greeted us and sat us in the dining room to the right of the entrance at a corner table. She gave us menus and never came back to our table. My friend and I sat at the table for 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. The woman who initially greeted us, passed our table twice to bring food to another table without even blinking an eye in our direction. Finally, we got up and left the establishment. I'm very disappointed in the lack of service on this day. I've been to this place several times because of their diverse menu, drinks and great quality of food.
