Brought in a rounded aluminum window frame so they could cut some polycarbonate to fit. First try was totally the wrong radius and it had a big scratch. Brought it back and the second try is a lot closer but still off. Thought tap plastics were good at this stuff. Guess not. read more

TAP Plastics precisely cut a large and oddly shaped piece of plastic for me to ask as a top on a refinished cabinet. They were very careful to get the measurements correct and it came out perfectly. I ordered to pieces of plastic to cover two surfaces at my home. Gave the dimensions. They had both pieces done quickly. One piece was cut to my dimensions. The second was about 3/4 to long As that piece had rounded corners the measurement was Important. Will have to make the 60mile round trip to get it fixed. read more

(strike one) Apparently the covid has them extremely paranoid, (more so than science would deem rational) After I backed out a dude with a pony tail stuck his head out the door and said that they are only taking phone orders. I was literally standing there holding a template with all of the dimensions on it but he refused to take it. I told him that I called five times and got disconnected. He then sarcastically said that it was like calling a radio station, and "not everyone gets through" The moron had the worst customer service and would have been fired if he worked for me. I called asking for a particular product of which the individual on the phone said, yes we have it in two thicknesses. He gave me a price asked if it was in stock he said, yes. I said most likely I'll see you later today. About an hour later I arrived to pick up the product, when I got there they didn't know what I was asking for, trying to sell me something that had nothing to do with what I was asking for. The guy at the counter went and spoke to who I'm assuming is the manager asking if he knew what I was talking about playing dumb like they had no clue. I asked if they could order it, no. I asked why I was given misinformation the response from the guy at the counter was sorry. He then proceeded to help another customer. Really dude I've been doing business with you guys for 20 years this is how you treat a customer that comes in a couple times a year or any customer for that matter. Tap Plastics has always been a household name growing up. It wasn't until I became an "adult" myself, that I needed their services. I bought a faux wicker patio side table for use inside because it matched my decor and has a removable top such as an ottoman for space to store things. The only downfall was the fake wicker is quite pliable, and bends when drinks and such are set on it. I took the top to Tap Plastics in Pleasant Hill and was greeted with friendly faces and impeccable customer service. We recently purchased a new car. We have a dog, and the back seats are captain's chairs. So, there are a lot of open spaces for our elderly dog to fall through. We went to TAP Plastics in Pleasant Hill and talked with Kira. She helped us design a fix. We took measurements of the area and asked for a lip to be put in at a certain spot in the mat so it would create a solid space without slipping. Kira asked how much our dog weighed so she could recommend the right product that would hold up under his weight. I must stop here and say that Kira has such an upbeat and can-do attitude that she took all our concerns away. She was as excited to work on this project as we were to fill those holes. Normally there is about a week turnaround. We dropped off the measurements on Monday and by Wednesday she called us with the finished product. Let me tell you, it works like a charm. Our 12-year-old companion is as happy as a clam. No more falling through the cracks. TAP Plastics is the place to go when you need something custom made. I am sooo glad that they are in our city. Exceptional service!!!! My son accidentally broke a piece of glass in a door frame we had. It was going to take a week to order the new tempered glass. Been here half a dozen times for materials to complete projects. Products are great and it's really the only local place you can get many of the things they sell. The real draw back here is the customer service. If you want recommendations/help regarding materials, expect to be treated like an idiot (based off numerous experiences). I don't know if they are attempting humor, but they come across condescending and rude (i'm a veteran with thick skin fyi). The exception is the lady who works the register who is great. Also costs for cutting plastics is outrageous and numerous times over the cost of materials. If you choose this place, buy the bulk materials and finish them yourself. Next time I have a plastics need I am going to drive the extra distance to try the other location. read more

I've gone to a few TAP stores...this one has to be the worst. Unhelpful, uncaring staff...almost every time I've gone in here I've left with a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not an unreasonable customer with weirdo requirements for dumb projects, but for some reason I was treated as such. My last visit actually drove me to write this review, the guy who was "helping" me acted like I was a huge problem to deal with, whereas at Home Depot I was expecting the same treatment but got the opposite only moments earlier. So screw this place, not going here anymore to do many more projects...I'd rather learn how to fab up crap myself rather than put any more custom orders into the hands of the ungrateful. read more

I've gotten everything from custom pieces like computer cases down to run of the mill shadow box covers, and they've not disappointed me yet. I had a quick DIY project: stop the draft coming from an unused fireplace. Since I plan to put decorative lights in it, I wanted a clear piece of plastic as a cover. I checked the TAP website (which claims to beat the prices of the local stores) then called the store to see if they had stock. They had something equivalent and for a lower price than the website. When I got to the store and explained my project, the rep (sorry I didn't get your name, cos you were great) advised a thicker plastic and even made some other suggestions. I went with the thicker plastic (same price as website without paying $11 in shipping woot!) and they cut my order while I browsed the store. Lots of craft/DIY options in there. When they brought out my order (they were quick), the rep explained about the covering and how to clean the plastic. Everyone, from the gentleman I spoke with on the phone to the lady at the cash register, was extremely courteous and helpful. read more
