I went to this place based on reviews but was highly disappointed. I ordered bistec tacos. The meat was somewhat good and tasty but the rest of the food and experience was awful. The meat came in huge pieces, it should have been chopped smaller. The tortillas are huge, they were very basic, lots of cilantro, not enough onions, lemons were dry, tacos were basically dry unless you use a lot of salsa. I will say the salsa was okay but hardly any flavor. The ladies never checked on me even though I was the only one there. I paid using Zelle. We came to the neighborhood on a field trip from Manhattan by bike and were desperate for something to eat. We weren't expecting much because there seemed to be middle of the road restaurants on the strip. Who knew very good Mexican was right here?! This establishment is not fancy, but the tacos are really good. We had the steak with fried jalapeños, the chorizo with cheese and Al pastor tacos. We also had a huge Horchata drink. I'll make this simple. Food: Pretty good if you want REAL mexican food. Prices are spot on with what they should be. Food actually has seasoning and flavor. Not a tex mex restaurant like what everyone is used to. A bit greasy but you can't go wrong when you have a craving. Better than Don Cesar up the block, but not really a place to sit down and have a meal, more of a takeout place. Service: Delivery guy/owner is very nice and personable. The cook is an a$$hole. If she picks up the phone, don't expect to get your order taken unless you speak spanish (which I do). I spoke to her in english one day and she hung up the phone on me. I had to go in person and tell her in spanish (in not so many nice words) that she was pretty much a jerk. She was very surprised that I came in person and pretended as if the phone wasn't working. I watched her as she made my food to make sure she didn't do anything to it. Overall: Just stay away from the woman that cooks and everything will be great. Best mexican place withing a few miles. If you're looking to sit down at a restaurant, this isn't the place (I'd recommend Iguana Azul in great kills). Looking for a takeout place, you hit the spot. Their meat is always fresh as well as the ingredients. Their tacos are prepared the original way which is how they are served in Mexico. I have tried their sopes, huaraches, tacos and some of their main dishes and the food was always good. I like to buy and sponsor small owners. This is a small family owned restaurant where you will eat good Mexican food, the way it should be. They also sell some Mexican sodas like Jarritos and Mexican beer. If you are a futbol (soccer) fan, this is the place to go on a Sunday afternoon. I have watched soccer games here while eating my guacamole, tacos and enjoying a beer, it was great. On Sunday's they offer Barbacoa and Pozole soup. I recommend Oaxaca Taqueria if you are looking for a good Mexican meal in the south shore. read more

The tacos were fantastic - nice, simple tacos you'd expect from any great taco truck in LA. You get three per order and it's $1 extra to do different types of tacos. I also got guacamole which comes with nachos and it was really good, a tad spicy but def. good. Although the food is terrific, I am so dissatisfied with the service I am giving a low rating. I've ordered 5x since moving to the area on 12/1/16 and all 5 times had my food delivered by a man and was able to pay with a credit card. Tonight I called and was treated very poorly by both the girl answering the phone taking orders AND by the owner who told me I must have been calling her restaurant by mistake because 1) they don't accept credit cards and 2) they dont make deliveries to my home. LOL I'm not crazy but maybe she needs to check with her staff since no-one is on the same page about rules. I was really excited to try some Mexican food in Tottenville and unfortunately never got to. This review is not based on their food, but more so on their customer service. I ordered food and called 3 times within a 2 hour time frame. I live two blocks away and assumed that delivery would be quick. At the time being I was unable to pick up the food and would have, but relied on their delivery. All 3 phone calls they asked me what I ordered and said 20 more minutes for the food. Unfortunately, the food never showed and after 2 hours I called to tell them to cancel it. I really wanted to try this place out and hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

I feel bad for whomever owns this business the food is decent but the workers are very rude I don't feel welcomed there at all I get stared down no hello no goodbye. I went a few times in the past two weeks and I always say thank you and not once have I heard you're welcome. Today I asked for extra tomatillo sauce because they only fill them up half way anyway and she charged me for it which is fine but didn't let me know because every other time I asked for extra I never got charged nor did she even let me know just handed me my change and showed her back to me.
