Ok. I am here to RAVE about this place. They are absolutely amazing. HIRE THEM. Here's why: Late last year/earlier this year we developed a leak. We had another company come out to fix this leak. They put in new gutters stating that our old gutters were causing the water to overflow and leak down the upstairs back outer wall, into the ceiling of our master bedroom. Following the first heavy rain after their "fix", the leak was not fixed and was actually worse than it previously had been (by a significant amount). This previous company came out quite a few times, said they would give us a quote after each visit (because I guess their work wasn't guaranteed), never gave us quotes (I'm guessing they had no idea what the problem was) and eventually got pretty nasty with us until they finally decided to ghost us. Immediately after previous company's last visit to our place (~2-3mo after our initial call to them), I got frustrated and called TAR because I really wanted a second pair of eyes on the problem. I was curious to whether this leak problem was really unsolvable so I told them about the ceiling leak. They sent someone out and I was immediately impressed. First, the gentleman wanted to assess the actual leak (previous company never wanted to see it). He followed COVID safety protocols. He took measurements. He was polite and knowledgeable. He then assessed the outside of the house. After his assessment he told us that we needed to replace the siding on the back wall of the second story (above our master bedroom) and that the gutters needed to brought below the roof line. That BLEW MY MIND as this means that the first company did not do their job properly, thereby causing us MORE damage. The gentleman from TAR left and shortly after I received a wonderful, polite text message that they would be in touch. They did get in touch. They sent us a quote. Their quote was less than previous companies initial quote for their bad job (which they never refunded us for). TARs quote included fixing previous company's bad job too! Importantly, TAR's work was guaranteed! And as of last night, which was the first heavy rain since TAR's work, we are finally dry for the first time in 2021! It only took them one visit, not 4-5 visits! So yes, 5 stars, These guys are amazing. read more

OK. After a few months experiencing continuous leaking, I have to update the review. They are quick and respond timely. However, the work is sub-par. After they put ice/water shied, we still have leak. Then they have someone come back and put more culk/tar here and there. And we still have leak. Until recently, we decide to replace our roof and all of the roofer said the work is unprofessional and won't help stop leaking at all. Sorry man, the business owner seems to be nice but the work is not solving our problems. read more

Damian from TAR Restoration Inc., is an excellent guy to work with. This is my first time with a roof replacement project. He made it as painless as it could be. The hail damage was extensive, so the full roof with gutters and down spouts, 5 skylights, metal bay windows etc...had to be restored to original look and feel. Damian gave us clear understanding of materials he would be using for the project and made sure we chose appropriate materials whenever there was a choice available - such as skylights and gutters/downspouts and bay window top. We ended up choosing really good materials and are very happy with the output. For instance we chose synthetic underlayment than plain felt paper and subsequently our warranty was enhanced to that choice. He also used all GAF certified materials and techniques for a proper job. His project planning, scheduling of work teams and general sense of time was great. It was important because roof, gutter/downspout installation and windows should happen in a correct sequence else there is damage to outer walls and siding. Things happened whenever he said they would happen - which is a rarity in this business. I have 2 homes so I know how important this line of mine is for prospective customers. Further more, Damian hand held us through the whole process of insurance paperwork. I cannot thank him enough for such a wonderful project experience. Roof replacement is a pain but we need more young men like this guy to do it properly and not take advantage of naive home owners. read more

When i'm spending $15,000. on a job. I usually like to meet face to face to discuss the quote details with the salesman/foreman. Not much to ask? Two times this company wasted their time and mine. First, we had a time set for the estimate for Tuesday at noon. As I was traveling home from work to meet for appointment. I received a call from salesman, saying he was running early and he looked at property already and would send a estimate. Feeling bummed that I missed him, I waited for the estimate. The second time, Damian was to meet me on a Saturday morning. It snowed a half inch that spring morning, and somehow I knew I wasn't getting that meeting. Sure enough, phones rings, it's Damian, needs to cancel. Snow on roof, promises to come out. Weeks later, i emailed Damian and asked about our face to face. It must of hurt his feelings, because I noticed he voided the initial estimate. LOL. read more

If I could give TAR 10 stars, I would. We had two contractors come out to look at our roof because we had a leak coming through our master bedroom ceiling (on the top floor) during a recent monsoon. TAR was the only contractor to find the soft spots in our roof. They also suggested to use a silver sealant to reflect sun (and reduce heat in our bedroom.) They also needed to repair the cracking around our vent pipes. I bit my lip in anticipation of a big estimate. And then SQUEALED LIKE A LITTLE PINK PIG when it was lower than anything I could have imagined. We decided to go with TAR and couldn't have been happier. Francisco went above and beyond to get us on the books ASAP and even was able to come a day earlier than expected because they finished a job early. I had asked him if he could take before and after photos (since we don't have a ladder tall enough to get to our roof) and his crew documented EVERYTHING. Talk about owning your work! And, the crew was so good that when I got home from work, there wasn't a trace of evidence that a roofing contractor had been at our home! I'm thankful for those photos, otherwise I would have second-guessed if anyone had actually been on the roof. If you're looking for honest, quick and solid work, look no further than TAR Restoration. I had a free estimate done this past week and the entire process was extremely professional and seamless. I requested a quote online and they called me the following business day. The woman who scheduled me was very efficient and friendly and let me know a time window that I could expect an expert to come check out my gutters. I also received an email with all this information afterwards. The gentleman who was scheduled to arrive called 15 mins in advance to let me know that he'd be there soon. Once he arrived, he handed me a business card and was very attentive to what my issue was. He then got up on the roof and took pictures and had everything he needed in 10 mins to explain the problem to me very throughly with pictures to help illustrate it all. He wasn't pushy at all and gave me a very reasonable quote. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who wants to explore their options with gutters and roof work. TAR is awesome!! Both times that I've called them for projects that needed to get done, they were so responsive and did excellent work! Krystian is very friendly when coming out to assess the project, he really made it easy to understand what the issue is and how to fix it (I hate not knowing what's going on!!). Dominik was also really responsive both times, and kept me in the loop with project updates, weather delays, etc. Both projects were done quickly, and with no surprise costs at the end. TAR restoration replaced my home's roof and gutters this summer. I quoted four different companies, and while TAR was not the cheapest, they were the quickest to answer my concerns, provided clear documentation with the quote (including cert. of insurance), and were very easy to get ahold of. Their pricing was reasonable, there was not a down payment requirement, and the quote was all-inclusive (even plywood decking). Damian was extremely responsive to emails, calls, and texts, and my roof was replaced 10 days after the contract was signed. The gutter installers mistakenly installed the wrong downspouts, but when I questioned it they were replaced the next day (I was alternately offered a discount on the job). You can pay with a credit card, but they will charge a 3.5% processing fee. I am very happy with the service of TAR restoration, and I will recommend them in the future. read more

After the great initial first impression, there were many missed appointments, unanswered phone calls, emails left unanswered, workers coming when we didn't know (were they even there? we never saw them), a subcontractor who left a giant hole in the ceiling and then never returned to fix the problem (texts on Sunday morning that he had a family problem and won't be returning, ever), to a roof that GUESS WHAT is STILL LEAKING months later. This business isn't great guys, spend your hard earned cash elsewhere. They did revise the estimate down, which was nice, but we paid a lot of money, and as mentioned above, the issue was not repaired. Agree with the other reviews here; I was hugely satisfied with the work from Damian and his crew. Back in November, we got ditched by a different company (you can easily find my review), and we had a leaky roof slowly damaging our ceiling. I called TAR and Damian said he was not doing any more jobs for the winter, but he'd be happy to come out in the spring. I told him I would be in touch. However, Damian beat me to it--he followed up with me in February, and we arranged a estimate. His price was reasonable, he's clearly knowledgeable, and he very clearly wanted to earn our business. After waiting out the Chicago rain, his crew came out on a Tuesday in March to replace the roof, then returned about five days later to finish flashing and sealing. The roof looks great, and I couldn't recommend TAR more strongly. Great contractor! read more

After our roof was replaced for hail damage a few years ago, we started experiencing water coming in through a bedroom ceiling. We had never had this problem before. The contractor was a friend of a friend and claimed he had gone to check on the roof and that there was nothing wrong. He never asked to come inside and see for himself. As time went on it became worse. At the last rain we actually had a pot under the leak to catch the water. I don't understand some people. If the problem persists maybe you are missing something In your evaluation. TAR actually came into the house, measured, and found the hole on the roof and showed me pictures. Apparently, the previous workers had nailed some shingles incorrectly. As time went on, more water came in,causing more damage. TAR was relatively clean, tidy, and on time. They also repaired some poorly placed downspouts. They were respectful of our neighbor's property. Of course, the next big rain will be the big test. They were reasonably priced. Professional. Patient. They were great communicators. For me, the big moral of the story was your friend's friend is not always your friend. read more

The process from the first call, to the communication leading up to, and the work done was great. We had some minor repairs to some shingles and trim pieces that blew off in a windstorm.
