I couldn't be happier with my experience working with TAR Restoration. I own a bar with three residential units in a mixed use building in Ravenswood. I'm in the process of converting the residential section into an inn. Before getting deep into the interior work, I needed to do a full tear off of my gabled roof, and a complete resurfacing of my flat roof. The gabled roof is extremely high with an extreme pitch. A few of the companies I called wouldn't touch it, but Damian and his team came out quickly, put together a detailed bid and carefully outlined the scope of the job. We had initially planned to start the job before last October, but we had some bad weather which ultimately required us to wait until spring. They jumped on the flat roof work before it got too cold, and then I was made to feel like my job was a high priority for spring. In addition to the exquisite roof replacement they did, I added on a significant amount of siding repair and replacement, which they handled beautifully and priced fairly. After a recent inspection of the interior renovation, the city required me to add on a dormer over the rear staircase. Although, TAR was busy with other jobs, they were super accommodating and came out to put on the small roof and siding before we got hit with rain that was in the forecast. I have worked with contractors on quite a few jobs over the years, and I have to say that I doubt I will look any further than TAR if I have roof or siding work in the future. read more

When a construction person who was doing some work on my house looked at my roof, he told me that my chimney needed tuckpointing and my roof needed some repairs. He said that the major problem was the chimney. When I called TAR, they gave me an estimate. They were able to come out quickly to do the work. I assumed that they would fix the chimney, but they do not do tuckpointing. I had never asked that question. They charged a fair price for the work they did on the roof, which was very good. Since my emergency "hey my roof is leaking OMG HALP" work is done, I'd like to discuss some cosmetic repairs I had done by TAR. The previous owners of my home left the side door overhang in poor, poor repair. It was rotting from the inside and we had to put chicken wire up to keep birds out. Practically no-one wants an angry mother sparrow invading their home every time they open the door. Anyhoo, one of the main issues with it was that it had to be tied / layered into the main houses roof and angled properly to get water to flow correctly. It was certainly not a "Hey man, lets knock this out in an afternoon" type of business. TAR came out, took a look, and quoted me for this one and another shed roof project I had them do. The shed was quick, fast, and they came in under budget. Yeah,, you read that right. Under. Budget. The overhand, man it was a beast. The TAR crew took care of it though. If you looked at the repair/re-work you wouldn't be able to tell that it wasn't part of the original home. For the amount of work put in to that over hand, and knowing that it's done properly, it was worth every penny. And I don't have to worry about protective bird-mothers coming into my kitchen and making a mess of my pots and pans. Here is a little more about TAR. I had another roof issue where I was getting a leak. TAR sent out a crew and made it right. I am very thankful for their professionalism, and taking care of something that they may not have even had a hand in before. Now I can say with pride that TAR fixed the roof of my home, our 8x10 storage shed and replaced and redesigned the overhand to my side door. My house hasn't been this sound since it was built. I would HIGHLY recommend working with T.A.R. Restoration for any home improvement project. We contracted with T.A.R. to do a full roof tear off and replacement and install all new gutters and downspouts. Prior to starting the job in March 2021, we noticed a water leak in our bedroom in December and T.A.R. immediately came out to repair the leak at no additional cost to keep us dry until the full roof replacement could be completed. It was such a relief to have this repair completed and to not have to worry about additional water damage during the winter months. During the full roof repair and gutter installation, T.A.R.'s crews were extremely thorough and professional and left our property spotless when the job was completed. The super star of this project was absolutely Dominik, who served as the Project Manager. Dominik's communication is unparalleled to any other contractor we have worked with on home repairs. He set accurate expectations on project timing, immediately notified us when unforeseen issues popped up during the roof replacement and responded to questions within minutes of us reaching out. Dominik has continued to keep in touch with us even after the project was completed to offer any additional help during another upcoming home improvement project. I first went threw home advisor and went with 3 of the companies the app recommended.reached out to all 3 for estimates for my roof and only 1 responded and actually came out the same day.Looked everything over and told me ill have an estimate in The next few days, i never heard from him again.I reached out to a few more companies and they told me to send them mu information and they will get back to me and once again no one ever got back to me.Now a wk has gone by so i decide to google companies around my area and they recommended all of the companies that never showed up or never responded.So i see this company Tar Restoration they are not in my area by i gave it a shot and set up an appointment for somebody to come out and give me an estimate.Long story short the rep came out and actually got on the roof and took some pics of why mr roof was leaking, had a long conversation with him about the process and i instantly felt i was in good hands and signed the paper work as soon as the contract came in.Now my roof and gutters are done and i couldn't be any happier from the start to the finish, Top to bottom first class treatment all the way threw.I would recommend this company over anybody no matter how big or small Tar Restoration is the way to go. Totally unprofessional, I would not recommend or use there services again. I was put onto TAR restoration through the company we are getting solar panels from. When comparing quotes, TAR restoration said they didn't want to or need to come out and see the premises and said that they could get all the information that they needed from satellite images of the property. The items in their original quote was very sparse. I asked if when comparing to other quotes I got, if they were doing all the things the other companies were quoting and was assured over the phone that they were. This turned out not to be the case as they used materials with shorter warranties and less of them (3ft of weather shielding vs 6ft). 3ft is the smallest amount allowed by code and I was assured that as long as it met code then my manufacturers warranty is OK. When they turned up I was expecting to have to deal with roofing debris but not the fast food and drink containers their crew left lying about the property. When I got home after the first day I had complaints from the neighbors of trash blowing into their yards. I phoned TAR to complain about this and the tools they had left loose on the roof overnight (ladders/garden forks etc) and was told that they would speak to the crew and it would not happen again. The job over ran, and at the end of day 2 after their crew had left for the day I had to go out again and pick up trash their crew had left about the property, before it blew into the neighbors yards (donut boxes, mountain dew cups etc). There was still work equipment left loose on the roof, I'm not sure now this is considered safe practice. I was told the reason for the delay was unexpected problems with the slope of the roof, maybe if they had come out to give the quote they would of known to be better prepared for the steep slopes? Once they had finally left when the roof was completed I then had to go out and pick up several piles of roofing nails that had been left on the lawn and put back all the garden furniture. TAR restoration said that as a courtesy they would do this, but didn't. I only went with TAR because the solar panel company heavily endorsed them and offered better incentives if I went with them, I regret this decision. 1 neighbor has said they have hail damage and saw I had just got my roof done, I told them to stay away from TAR. Looking at TAR's review I can see a distinct drop off in scores in this year compared to the last couple, and based on my experience I'd say the lower score reviews are warranted. read more

Damian was so generous and provided me with a free roof inspection. He also met with insurance company agent. He was able to get me approved for a full gutter and roof replacement. Our outdated roof was ready for replacement. Wind and hail damage and "it was time." Had four contractors do a quote. Damian called me quickly, scheduled a time, and came as scheduled to do the measurements/pictures for the estimate. Was extremely knowledgeable about roofing and venting and spent time reviewing what we needed in detail. We narrowed the choice down to two--decided to go with TAR per his extra communication and explanation about the products. Priced right. Once we signed the contract (eSign--fantastically efficient), we sent him a 1/3 deposit and he told me Francisco would be in touch with shingle and gutter color options and to set us on the schedule. Both communicated effectively via email and phone and I appreciated they got us on the schedule quickly and came and worked efficiently. We did a tear off--got the old roof off and new shingles on day 1. We also have a dormered upstairs section that needed flat roofing (rather than shingles--something we learned from his extra time spent with us), which they came back the next day to complete. Day three is gutters and they have done a great job. They've cleaned up very well and put planter barrels back where they go.
