    Chicken tika Tikka Masala (GF)
    Gayle S.

I've been craving Indian food so I placed an order to go using the app. If you sign up for the rewards, you get a free appetizer with any adult entree purchase that will apply on the app once you proceed to payment. I got the chicken tika masala, a kids meal with the chicken pakora, fries, and a mango lemonade, naan and an appetizer of the chicken pakora. Overall the food was a bit, and I'll definitely return. While tasty, the mango lemonade was on the sweet side, but my son still slurped it down. The chicken tika masala was served with a hefty portion of rice and even at a medium, the spice was pretty potent. If you are spice averse, definitely stick with the mild. The food was ready to go as soon as we arrived and was warm even after our 15 minute drive home. Great spot to try!

This was my first experience trying Indian food and I had zero idea what to expect The lamb tikka masala had sooo much flavor. Even after being full I wanted more lol. I even ate my leftovers which tasted just as fresh the next day. The garlic naan was perfect to dip in the tikka masala. I did assume this was a sit down restaurant but it's more of fast food. Regardless I'll be back because I've been craving it since I left.

Samosas and a lassi. Perfect snack.

This place is still so good. Always busy. Great food. I just wanted a snack so stopped in for a mango lassi and some samosas.

This is our go-to easy, fast, and delicious Indian spot in San Antonio! I really like that you can pick the sauce and then add whatever protein you want. It feels more like a fast food spot than a restaurant. It was really busy but they serve you pretty fast. It's located next to Trader Joe's so parking can be a little hard to find during peek hours.

I've stopped by several times whenever I'm in the mood for this type of cuisine, which isn't all that often. That said, I always go for their chicken curry with medium spice and jalapeños--it's my go-to. The warmth and spiciness hit just right, especially on a cold or rainy day. The staff has always treated me well, and the service is consistently great.

Beyond the decor, Nothing Indian about this place. Uncooked yellow dhal, sour paneer Tikha masala, biryanis - are they?

If you're into gentrified Indian food then this is your spot. I got extra hot and it wasn't even spicy. The flavors really lack in ways this could never taste like authentic Indian food. The garlic nan was sad and soggy with lack of flavor. The tikka masala just tastes like an average tomato soup with weak spices. Idk what this is but I prefer my Indian food to have soul and flavor.

Tarka offers approachable and tasty Indian cuisine in a fast casual environment. I love that the menu is simple and makes it easy to pick a dish to order. What I ordered: Masala Fries - Fries are okay but need more seasoning. Not super exciting. Lamb Korma - The lamb is very tender and the korma tastes extremely creamy. The korma is on the grainy/chunky side and comes with rice. Chicken Tikka Masala - Great spices and flavor! The chicken is also very tender and its a big portion! Comes with rice. Garlic Naan - Classic and tasty. The bread is definitely on the thicker side. Mango Lassi - Yum!! This thick mango yogurt drink is so delicious! A must order! Mango Lemonade - If you aren't in the mood for a lassi, this is a good option! It's sour and sweet with a strong mango flavor. I think Tarka is a great place for those newer to Indian cuisine. It is not completely authentic when it comes to the amount of spices used but still a good spot to try out some widely recognized Indian dishes.

A fast casual Indian spot. As soon as you enter you can smell all the spices.Just about everything on the menu is great. Our favorites are the tikka masala and sagwala. The warmth from the spices in the sauces are so comforting. All curry dishes are served with rice. Don't forget to order the garlic nan to soak up the sauce. They have a lot of vegetarian options. The mango lemonade is a huge hit but I water my down a little as it's pretty concentrated.

I finally got to try this place. My husband and son have been to another location many times. The food is plentiful and very well seasoned. I got the Chicken Biryani which was so good! I got the mild version but it did have a tiny bit of a kick to it. My friends all lived their dishes too!! I have to say I am not impressed with their naan. Actually disappointed with it. But that won't stop me from going again! I can't wait to try the other dishes.

Tarka is my go to Indian food spot in town! Service is always quick and the flavor is always spot on. They have a large menu with plenty of meat and vegetarian options, as well as some great appetizers and drink options. The amount of food you get for the price is very reasonable and if you join their rewards program, they often send coupons. My go to order is the vegetable pakoras as an appetizer, malai kofta for a meal, and garlic naan on the side. They hands down have the best Chai in San Antonio! I always order it iced and wish it came in a size larger because I always drink it so quick! Highly recommend checking out Tarka!

Service is always great here and meals are fairly affordable for quick service Indian cuisine! Always love the atmosphere, whether for family meal, business lunch, or takeaway. Just a pop by today for me The Lassi is much like a smoothie, ordered today was mango made with the optional coconut milk instead of the yogurt! Delicious and refreshing! Veggie samosa is good as a light vegetarian meal on its own.

    Cashew korma
    Ashley W.

I got the cashew korma with paneer ($11). If you are a first timer, download the app and sign up for the rewards program so you can get a free appetizer!! I wish I did this before because you need to make a purchase to redeem the free appetizer. I asked the employee if I could redeem it after, and he said no unfortunately. Service was fast. The cashew korma was delicious! I got medium spicy and it was medium, definitely doable for the average person in my opinion! The rice was fragrant and had a nice texture. The portion size is reasonable. I think it's about 1.5 servings.

After visiting the actual wonder of the world up close, when this famous name is mentioned, our expectations go way up. The food is good, fairly authentic in preparation, but does not actually leave me stunned like seeing the ivory white marble mausoleum sparkling in the sunrise for the first time. My go to Indian dish is the butter chicken and wifey loves ordering the Tandoori chicken, which we both did. Add a side of garlic Nan & basmati rice as a complement to the main course. Overall, we were pleased with the taste, although I should have gone up one spice level to perhaps get that combination of burn and flavor that I crave. The 65 chicken as an appetizer was ok, but we tend to like this dish deep fried & crispy, instead of baked. The restaurant is in a shopping center and shares space with the Thai Orchard business, as the same owner runs both restaurants. The inside dining is comfortable enough. The staff kept our drinks filled, which is always a plus to me. It was also nice that the drink selection included iced tea and fountain drinks, as us southerns desire and not typically offered in Indian restaurants.

The outside of the building shows its age with some faded menu advertisements, but once inside the restaurant opens up more than I expected. At first it feels small, but past the bar there's a comfortable-sized dining room. Every TV was tuned to the World Cup, which gave the restaurant a fun, energetic atmosphere during my visit. Service was prompt and friendly. My waiter recommended the pork for the momo dumplings and also suggested pairing the meal with one of their Himalayan beers. After reading several Yelp reviews, I ordered the sizzling pork momo, naan, and chicken vindaloo. I also took the beer recommendation, which ended up being a good decision considering I ordered the vindaloo at a 4 out of 5 spice level. The sizzling momo was the standout of the meal. The dumplings were excellent, and the accompanying sauce was flavorful enough that I found myself dipping almost everything into it. The basmati rice was perfectly cooked, and the chicken vindaloo had a nice level of heat without overwhelming the other flavors. The chicken itself was tender and cooked well. Portions were generous, and I ended up with more food than I could comfortably finish by myself. Overall, this was a great first visit.
