Wow what an amazing experience! We came into Taste Community since we had heard about its service to the community. We did have to wait 15 minutes to be seated but were greeted with very sweet workers who were all volunteers. The energy in there is amazing. We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and the Chinese salad with lemonade. The food was exceptional and the waiters went above and beyond. They do have restriction on how much you can order as they do not want food to go to waste. A small plate and larger plate was definitely enough food for both of us. You are able to pay/donate how much you can.

Great place, great mission. The food was delicious, the service is friendly and great. The building is light, open, and comfortable. Everyone's a volunteer. It's just an excellent spot.

This place warmed my heart. Pay what you can afford! Run by volunteers. The food seemed to be farm to table with fresh ingredients.

I had this delicious wedge salad for lunch today at the Taste Restaurant in Ft. Worth.

The food is fresh and the staff is amazing! The salad had the right combination of tomatoes, bacon, and blue cheese! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Parking is available on the street and location is pretty close to several businesses and hospitals. The space is nice and clean with a small garden in the back. The majority of the staff are volunteers with exception of the manager and chef. The concept is pretty interesting where it is pay what you can or want which limits you to trying only one dish (and one side). With the menu changing often, my friends and I wanted to try multiple dishes so we ended up splitting it family style. The portions are decent sizes which allowed us to split the dishes and still feel satiated. All of the dishes we had were light and filling with the right amount of flavor. Would love to go back and try other dishes!

Always an amazing experience at Taste! They serve up delicious meals while serving the community! The menu changes every three months and they have brunch on the weekends! Don't be afraid to check them out and pay what you can afford or what you think the meal is worth!

Great food and great staff. Took a little time to get the food, but the quality was worth it. I would definitely go again.

The little extras they provide are a welcome addition and are truly incredible in their own right, from the glass of champagne, to the little round crispy appetizer ball thingy (I'm not even sure what it is but it's wonderful) with the accompanying aioli, to the delicate and airy popovers; what a beginning to each meal! I started with the Caesar salad, which was fresh, crisp and the dressing was subtle but authentic. I then varied from tradition and ordered the sea bass for my entree. Oh my what a treat! Perfectly cooked and paired well with the basmati rice and curry sauce. Lastly, the chocolate tart was so rich and delicious; a perfect ending to a great meal. Our waitress was very attentive yet personable and two different gentlemen came by to ensure our meal and experience was perfect. We have always enjoyed our experience here and the food is delicious!

Let me just give a special shoutout to the service in particular. I have not had such a good set of servers (from front of house to bartenders to waitresses) in a very long time. They were excellent. The food was also very good. However, to be honest, the steak was under-seasoned and a little on the tough side. I bought a 12-once ribeye and we split the 32-ounce tomahawk steak. Visually, stunning. But the ribeye was certainly on the tougher side and both steaks needed salt. Overall, really good experience - but I was expecting better flavor from the star dishes. Nonetheless, still would recommend.

On the hottest day, I sat outside, but the fans kept the air moving so it wasn't terrible. Joseph attended to me quickly and was excited to serve me despite the heat. I ordered the steak bite appetizer and the mahi mahi tacos with fries. The steak bites were flavorful and the sautéed onions amazing. Perfect appetizer for two. The mahi mahi tacos were simply beautiful. All the flavors came through from the housemate tortilla, grilled mahi mahi to the citrus marinade and pickled onions. I do think the avocado cream got forgotten but I asked for it and Joseph brought me some. I added it to the second taco and it elevated. The crema has a little kick that is just perfect. I also consider myself a picky French fry eater. I'm more a frite fan than fry fan. Maybe it's the tallow, but these fries were wonderfully crispy and well salted. I highly recommend this meal! Overall, a great meal with great service by Joseph. It is always a mood booster to be around people that are in great spirits and do their job well.

However, once I received the starters, I felt the portions were much smaller than expected. In my opinion, the charred campfire chicken could feed one person, while the cochinita nachos could feed two. I will say the charred campfire chicken was juicy and had a nice charred texture. The white bbq aioli and smoked corn slaw were delicious and paired nicely with the chicken. Unfortunately, the cochinita nachos were very disappointing and, honestly the worst nachos I've had at a restaurant. The nachos are the primary reason for my two star rating. The Mexican pulled pork contained a few fatty pieces, and the Jack cheese was unevenly dumped throughout the nachos in large chunks. The bottom of the plate was also soaking in grease from the cheese. I've never experienced this with nachos at another restaurant, and I would think the excess grease would be drained so the chips at the bottom aren't left sitting in it. I noticed that most guests were ordering their small burgers and fries, so I may return to try those or possibly order another chicken dish.

For an appetizer, we shared an order of their tamales. Now, I'm spoiled on amazing homemade tamales, and these were certainly very different than what I'm used to, but they were so good! I was very impressed. For cocktails I started with an espresso martini and layer I had a barrel aged Manhattan. Both met my expectations perfectly. The espresso martini had espresso, vanilla vodka and coffee liqueur. The Manhattan was your standard Antigua and Angestora but with the double-oaked version of Woodford Reserve (which is a favorite of mine). For dinner I had the Rockfish. It was amazing. A light, crunchy exterior and a moist, flaky interior with a very flavorful sauce and tender-crisp fresh veggies. It was surprisingly good. My late grandmother was a superb country cook and her name was Maggie. Good omen! We got there about 11:45 and got a table right away. Our server was Devin and she was terrific. What I really liked about it was - it was not over-breaded and it was fork-tender. (in my humble opinion, too many places are giving you a lot more breading that doesn't have meat under it. Yes, it's a first-world problem.) The mashed potatoes were also quite good, along with the cream gravy. I'm not a huge green bean fan, but my wife really liked them. We ordered nachos as an appetizer to split, along with two beers and a kids meal. What arrived was Motley Crue waking from a drug binge, raiding the pantry and trash, then declaring "let's do it." What was supposed to be nachos was anything but. The only explanation is someone who had never seen nachos tried to recreate them after hearing a rumor from someone at a Lowe's parking lot. The "chips" were not tortilla chips. They were rectangular strips of pale, flimsy material that looked like scraps of drywall film pulled out of a new construction site. An albino drywall experiment that somehow escaped the kitchen and landed on a plate. The entire thing was covered in barbecue sauce, with some mystery white liquid poured over the top. We assume it was supposed to be queso, but it definitely was not queso. Calling it queso feels disrespectful to actual queso. We ate maybe a quarter of it and decided we needed to leave before things got worse. Six hours later, we received an unannounced encore performance in the bathroom. I would avoid this place like a plague outbreak--unless you have an upcoming colonoscopy and want to skip the bowel prep.
