There is a lot they can do to improve this restaurant. Especially since the hotel is very nice. First of all, they charge $50 a couple for breakfast Buffet- if you are a paying customer. The food is is fresh but not always consistent! Pancakes, when they have them, are excellent! They will make Omelets to order however they can take forever. For dinner, prices are reasonable for a hotel however the food tends to be a bit dry- The Salomon as an example! Ambiance is very nice. I am hoping management can get their act together and make improvements because I like this place and would go back if they did. read more

Great place 4 a drink or sushi.... I had a Moscow mule with fresh ginger root, spearmint and vodka with some sugar and ginger ale....the service was a bit slow for my liking as I had to sit at the bat for 10 mins before the bartender took my order... and there were exactly 3 bartenders and it wasn't crowded cuz it was 430 pm on a weekday... anyhow. The bartender was very nice and accommodating when. I asked for more sugar and the dri ks are stellar and the ambiance ce is wo derful...I look forward to returning with a date or friends as it's a nice place to chat and people watch...lol read more

I hadn't been here in years and the restaurant has been completely remodeled. Mainly open for dinner, it's a very open space and rather bright with minimalistic, modern design throughout. The menu is a touch limited but enough for most diners and ranges from burgers to steaks. I had the vegetarian pasta, my friend had the rib eye steak. We walked out happy. Service is adequate, I feel they may be a bit understaffed. Like most hotel restaurants they will add a service fee into your final check. This restaurant is in the Renaissance hotel, which has a very special place in my heart because I had my wedding here. My husband and I came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The service was superb. Our waitress was extremely friendly and kind. She graciously gifted us dessert to celebrate our anniversary! With all that being said, we were a little sad the food fell a little short of our expectations. We loved the food we had at our wedding. Although they did not have the exact entrees we had on our wedding, we still ordered a steak and chicken dish. The chicken dish had this gravy sauce all over the chicken but it was very coagulated and in jelly chunks. It tasted fine but the appearance of it didn't look the most appetizing. The steak was lacking a little flavor and the truffle mac and cheese was just plain pasta, chunks of cheese and truffle oil. read more

This is such a hidden gem I never knew about! I've been coming to this hotel for years for various events and never knew how delicious this restaurant was. The manager Ethan was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and he suggested the tacos. I got the salmon tacos and my friend got the beef tacos. The service was pretty quick overall and the pricing was not too bad either. Definitely a win! So glad we came here! 3 1/2 really... Hidden in Plantation inside the Renaissance Plantation Hotel, Bin 595 has a lot to offer. I don't think it gets a lot of attention from the locals and it's a shame. While the hotel looks ordinary from the outside in a sea of trees and corporate buildings, it is actually very charming inside. They really did a great job with it. The lobby spills unto the restaurant separated only by the hostess stand, a bar and a couple of planters. On this specific weekday, Opentable was offering 1000 points to dine here. Being an avid user meant this would be our choice for the night. I am very happy we went. We were greeted immediately and our table was serviced right away: menus, drinks and (hot) bread were promptly brought out. The menu was varied and had great selections. We sat in one of the many, extremely tall, private booths that are lined up taking up half the restaurant. They were very comfortable (but could use some throw pillows for added ease and comfort). We took our time studying the menu and decided to start with the CAPRESE FUSION SALAD. This was delicious. Our entrees of choice were the SEAFOOD MEDLEY PASTA and the FLORIDA YELLOWTAIL SNAPPER. At first, I was considering the pan seared WILD king salmon because of the "wild" part. Our waiter said " well, everything we offer is caught wild". I thought that was odd. If true, that's great and should be noted on the menu. But it wasn't added which leads me to believe that everything else is farmed. So which is it? Both entrees were very good. The jasmine rice that came with my fish was completely cold. It took no longer than 3 minutes from the time I mentioned it to the waiter to me having a piping hot, brand new bowl with new rice to make up for it. That was greatly appreciated. For dessert we ordered the DULCE DE LECHE CHOCOLATE. It was good but was lacking "dulce de leche". The drizzle and little bit that it had tasted like "caramel" (which is not the same). I'm not sure why they would add it to the dessert name and not use 1- the real deal and 2- enough of it. Overall, service was great and we were happy with our dinner. The restaurant has a corporate and touristy flair to it. I can see this becoming a Plantation staple for locals especially given the lack of fine dining around here. Bin 595 offers that. The ambience was promising although it was missing something and I can't put my finger on exactly what that something is. I will give them another try in the near future though. read more

My first day back to work at our beautiful Plantation office, which is walking distance from the Renaissance Hotel. The boss treated us to lunch in this eloquently decorated lobby. A modern contemporary look, very classy and elegant. However the food was not as spectacular as the ambiance and the service - just sub-par. A party of 13 was treated like a party of 30. Our two waiters were friendly up until 2 of my co-workers turned away their orders. One complained that their steak was too 'smelly' and my other (pregnant) co-worker requested the Cuban sandwich with no mustard and still received it smothered with it. It was a little disheartening to notice our pregnant co-worker eating last. They took forever to bring her sandwich and didn't offer anything to her for the wait. I opted for their hummus appetizer and the Dijon Salmon with spinach and potatoes. The hummus was very tasty. I could've eaten 2 servings of that alone and be quite satisfied. The salmon was cooked surprisingly perfect and the Dijon dressing was delicious but the bed of spinach was just extremely salty. Another co-worker ordered their burger and it was so dry she couldn't even finish half of it. The group ordered some desserts to go; Chocolate Cake, New York Cheesecake and Key Lime pie. I didn't have any but all were voted as disappointments as well by the group. All in all, this place isn't that great for sit down dinner but I would return to the bar and have some more hummus. Oh man skip this place. My friend got married at this hotel, so the Friday before her wedding we decided to have lunch here b/c it was easy (so we thought) and the menu looked good (provided your food is actually cooked). Oh what a mistake, oh what a debacle, oh what a hot mess, oh lordie me, BAD idea! What's sad is I live close by to this hotel and this restaurant and I endeavor never to return. Our waitress greeted us... then ran away (she did this alot), when she came back we asked her for some menus...dah! Then she took our "water" order and disappeared again. When she came back we were ready to order our celebratory wine, we placed our order...and then she was gone again. After about 10 mins (mind you we haven't ordered food yet) she came back placed the bottle of wine down, dropped off the kids' sodas, and stared at us. So we did the next logical thing and asked her for some ...oh I don't know WINE GLASSES.....and probably some silverware would be helpful too. Time check- 25 mins in to being sat now. We ordered the kids' food b/c they were hungry and then we lost her.... again. After about 40 mins of being here we were able to get wine glasses and place our adult lunch orders....whoohooo!!!! Food came out about 20 mins later and she forgot one of the meals (a turkey burger) at the table. She didn't even remember what it was... so someone else came out and retook the order, they did indeed bring her a starter salad so she could munch on something while she waited. The burger came out.... about 8 mins later and when she cut into it ...it was RAW, as RAW could be, pink and bleeding raw...now this is turkey not beef.....no bueno. We flagged someone down, sent the bloody turkey back, and told the lady no need to re-do it our friend is now full (we all gave her bites of our lunches and by this time she was satiated). Check finally comes....guess what else comes.. yet another turkey burger. DOH! At this point, there's nothing to do but laugh b/c this place is such a mess. Did I mention when we got there, we were the only table? I flew into Fort Lauderdale late Sunday evening and made it to the Renaissance hotel fifteen minutes before the dining room - Bin 595 -closed. I've worked in the food service industry before, so I know how horrible it is to have some schmuck walk in at the last minute and start ordering like you just opened. However, both the hotel and restaurant staff were incredibly gracious and thought nothing of it. I really enjoyed the selections on the menu, and ended up selecting the filet mignon. (I'd say you can't go wrong with that dish, but time has proven that an incorrect assumption.) I had a drink to hand within minutes and the food arrived perfectly cooked in short order as well. The filet was cooked just as ordered, and the vegetables delicious - and I don't usually dig my veggies. My waiter, Rory, was on the spot with anything I needed: a casual efficiency that is the hallmark of a great waiter/waitress. Kudos to Bin 595 for making a hotel restaurant experience worthwhile and not simply making it a fall-back option for a captive audience too tired to manage going elsewhere. This place is an average, run of the mill, overpriced hotel restaurant. The food was bland. I tried the hummus, grilled chicken with mango slaw, and lobster and shrimp salad. Nothing really stood out. Decent cocktails but nothing groundbreaking. Service was super slow - I waited probably 30 minutes to get my check and that was only when I walked around and flagged down our waitress. I can't see any compelling reason why anyone would go to this restaurant, other than they are guests or attending a conference at the hotel and just really don't feel like going anywhere. read more

I don't recall every posting a one star review but this one is deserved by the kitchen staff for the lousy meal that became a comedy of errors at my expense! So after reading a few reviews that indicated mixed experiences...I thought, sure why not. Someone had said that they even opened up their kitchen to accommodate a late night diner who arrived before 10 pm closing (even though technically it was still supposed to be open). Nice! So arriving at 9 should've been a cake walk without a crushed kitchen, etc. The menu had some variety from meatloaf to seafood pasta plus steak and chicken. All sounded nice but I opted for the server recommended churrasco that I had eyed for the start. And that is one of my Go-By meals in South Florida, too. After some time, the medium-ordered meat came out well overcooked and even charred with a burnt taste. Even though I was starving by now, the waiter confirmed the mistake and took it back. By now, the singular sesame crisp toast and roll with butter and type of tapanade was now fumes in my gut. The medium - and not seared - steak that needed seasoning and something/anything came back along with cold fingerlings and veggies. Not cool. Actually physically tepid cold. Add lots of salt and still only a 4 out of 10. Hey, I can make fingerlings in a pan that hold their temperature, assuming it wasn't just held over from the last plate while the meat boiled. Kitchen says it was re-plated. I say try it. The maître'd comped me a drink first and then offered dessert. The chocolate cake with molten center and vanilla ice cream sounds good until the cold plate, hard cake and solid center comes out table side. Even the chocolate sauce decoration on the plate is hard. Sorry sir...as I hit the cake. By now, it is time to get out of here. I didn't eat much of the cake and declined another free drink. Apologetic wait staff and the maître'd took down my number. Wow! Whether the kitchen is breaking down to bolt out of here for the night or are truly incompetent, just not good practice since this isn't cheap either. So I tipped well despite the service and ended up with a $30 meal that told me to find the local joint with flavor next time. Or go into the kitchen and cook my own meal. I always try something once. Despite being a Marriott elite status guest, I'd never eat here again. This meal gives hotel dining a bad name. Yikes!!! read more

We were staying at the hotel and decided to get some appetizers and have a drink while we waited for our room to be ready. The bartender was great and made sure we always had a full glass of something, whether wine or water. They had the same wines that everyone has by the glass, but that means there is at least one decent Chardonnay so I am fine with that. We ordered the cheese tray and the chicken nachos. The cheese tray was OK. Just basic cheeses such as Swiss, cheddar, boursin. chevre, brie, but did come with a mix of nuts and spicy olives. Nothing unique, but 2-3 pieces of each one. The nachos were terrible. Big mound of tortilla chips sprinkled with jack and cheddar cheese, sliced olives, a few jalapeno pieces, dried chicken and microwaved until warm. The type where you pick up one chip and the entire cheese topping pulls off and there are dry chips underneath. Blechhh. Very disappointed. I remembered that I had had dinner there over a year ago and was not impressed. I was still not impressed. We had the buffet breakfast the next morning and the result was the same. Omelets cooked to order were not cooked all the way through, breads were hard, bacon overdone. Not horrible, just not very good. I would not have breakfast there again. There are 100's of breakfast places in the area with fresh homemade food that cost half the price. I don't mind paying if the food is good and I get the hotel cost, but at elast make it edible. read more

The service staff was polite but was slow and did not know anything about the menu ( how the food was prepped, specific ingredients) and would not ask. If u have an allergy stay far away. There was very little accomodation. I asked about dairy free options they didnt know what that was. so i went with a lettuce wrapped burger with fruit. We had another great coupon from Restaurant.com. so it motivated us to give this place a try. We were pleasantly surprised with our last hotel dining experience and now we are two for two. The service here has set the bar very high for the rest of South Florida...it was tremendous! I inquired about two different dishes and if they had cheese, they both did, so the chef offered to recreate one of them to fit my dietary needs. This is the first time EVER that anyone has made this offer to me, so I was quite impressed. The food was excellent. Seasoned very well and decent size portions without going overboard. My b/f had the lamb chops which he said were excellent. My dish was custom made, so not on the menu for you to order :) This location is right off of I-595 and Pine Island Rd., so it has great highway access if you live far but want to try it. I was excited to try this one given that it's in my neighborhood. It's basically hidden inside the Renaissance Plantation Hotel and, but for Opentable, we would have never found it. We chose to visit on a weeknight. Like so many other restaurants of late, this one has a modern minimalistic type look. Seemed a little bare to me but, I am no designer. We were seated promptly, served hot bread and presented with the menus. While looking at the menu, the waiter opened our bottle of wine (corkage fee is only $15). We placed our order and about 10 minutes later, we were already eating. The Caprese Salad was a nice starter. The entrees were a Florida Yellowtail Snapper for the wifey and a Seafood Medley Pasta for yours truly. Mine was good. Everything seemed fresh and it was well presented. For dessert we ordered the Dulce de Leche Chocolate. It was ok... could have used more Dulce de Leche or caramel... which given the taste that's probably what they used. Overall a nice meal. The decor was amazing due to a recent renovation of the restaurant and hotel. The service was just ok, but the food was bland and boring. I ordered a cheese plate and was served standard slices of cheddar, swiss, gouda, and goat. It looked like the same thing they put on their burgers. Nothing wrong with that if your in the mood for it but it was definitely a let down for me. I was hoping for a more personalized selection to go with the wine we chose. The food also tasted a little bland so i requested fresh pepper for my soup. The waiter with the pepper mill so aggressively peppered my soup and my friends salad that it was nearly inedible. Also my soup had the dinstinct texture and taste of something that had been microwaved, with certain parts of it very hot and other parts cool. The first time I was unimpressed with the food. It's hotel prices and not even average food. The second time was breakfast and just fine. The third was room service and I was stomach sick. The last time was another dinner that was sub par. Why do I do it? There was a singer that played the piano and sung and I love her voice it was so unique and melodic, and it really set the atmosphere. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. Described as American, Caribbean and Latin Fusion, Bin 595 is the on-site restaurant in the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale-Plantation Hotel. Unbelievably good for a hotel restaurant. Unbelievably! You can go in and sit down for table service or order room service to your room. With scheduled meetings from 8 AM to 10 PM, Bin was all I had to look forward to for my late night dinner fix. I had tried a few items from the room service menu and by far the most impressive was the Black Angus Burger. First of all it is priced at $13!!! For the quality and the fact that it is from a high-end restaurant in a high-end hotel, I was shocked! The burger comes with a good amount of fries as a side that are really good too. Crispy, perfectly cut, perfectly salted. One of the best burgers I've had. I also tried the chicken strips in the duration of my stay at the Renaissance. Once again some of the best chicken strips I've had and at $9 with fries you get 4 large white meat strips, honey mustard-dipping sauce. I also tried the calamari with rock shrimp appetizer. Now these were good as well but the rock shrimp is chopped up and can be confused for a calamari, at first sight I thought the shrimp were missing. I called the restaurant to make sure I ordered the right thing and when they explained, I said okay, great, fine... but they insisted on bringing up another order. Now I said no because I knew I wasn't going to eat it but just the multiple offers were impressive from the customers point of view. Now what is usually my favorite part, dessert, fell short for me personally. It is designer dessert at designer prices. All dessert plates were $9; I tried the decadent chocolate cake with ice cream, which was bitter and not very enjoyable. I wanted to like it but I didn't. Cool, modern dining experience. Like any good yelper, I did my research beforehand and had pre-settled on the seafood medley pasta and caprese fusion salad. Sadly, neither were on the menu so I had to go about choosing my meal the old fashioned way, with no advice from my trusty mobile app. Bread: 5 stars, comes out warm with butter and sundried tomato spread on the side; thought the sundries tomato was savory and a nice unexpected touch Ceviche appetizer: 3 stars, came out in two bowls. One was fish (red snapper) and the other shrimp. The red snapper tasted very fishy and I did not care much for the overall taste of the dish. The shrimp was better, and I did like it a lot more than the red snapper. The red snapper was probably 2 stars, while the shrimp was 4 stars. Averages out to 3 stars. Yellowtail snapper: 3 stars, thought the portions were generous and the firmness of the fish tasted right. Even without the lemon butter sauce which was on isolated on the side of plate, I just didn't care much for the amount of oil/butter that the fish was cooked in. The jasmine rice came out cold, and also tasted like it was over buttered, while I did enjoy the veggies. Maybe it's just me, but usually when I choose a fish option, I'm going for a healthier option and don't appreciate it when it comes out doused in butter. Overall, a nice option for a hotel restaurant, but probably won't make a strong effort to come back. read more

On a business trip we stayed at this hotel for the night. Not having a rental car and nothing within walking distance limited our choices, so we dined at the hotel restaurant. While the menu is fairly limited, I was happy with my food choice. I got their sun-dried tomato penne with multiple types of veggies in an asiago cheese sauce. The bread and sun-dried tomato spread was a nice complement to the pasta. However, for the price we payed for the meal, the service wasn't that great. Once we declined alcohol (charging booze is generally frowned upon in most companies), we didn't see much of our waiter. Granted, we were early dinner diners (not having anything since dinner the night before will do that to you sometimes), but there was no one else other than people at the bar there, so I would've hoped for a little more attentiveness. read more

I was pleasantly surprised, based on the reviews. This is, to be very clear, a hotel restaurant with a pedestrian menu and uninteresting execution-- but it does not totally suck in that capacity. Waitstaff was courteous and friendly, and our waitress did her best to accommodate one of my dining companions with who had an unusual dietary restriction. I had the 'churrasco' which was described as a Brazilian style steak with 'foraged mushrooms.' I think they may have been foraged from Kennett Square, PA, but my medium-rare steak was tender and flavorful. An aged dining companion had the roast vegetable pasta. It tasted like the tomato sauce came from a jar, and the pasta was cooked to mush, but the vegetables were neither over nor under cooked. It was an adequate primavera that, again, did not entirely suck. This restaurant exists within its ambitions. Its goals are not very high but they are achieved. Bring your parents. read more

Decor is VERY contemporary, amd nicely done. We have been here a few times, and it has always been pretty deserted. Good place to come when you want quiet. You will, however, pay a pretty penny for that quiet! We ordered a filet mignon and a really nice pasta dish. Both were very good. The steak was cooked to perfection, and although pretty small, could have been the poster child for any upscale steakhouse. The plate was pretty bare however, with only a couple of asparagus and carrotsnext to the steak. Including perhaps a little bit of mashed potatoes, or a few small roasted potatoes would cost the restaurant very little, yet they would be serving a complete dish. Where I really think this place falls short is the menu selection. I would have loved a soup, but they had only lentil or conch chowder. The appetizers either did not appeal to me, or were pretty over priced. Way too many entrees were in the mid $30's, which would not be a problem if there were more selection in the $20's. Really, if I want to spend that kind of money, I want to go to a better place. I think this explains the lack of clientele. Bin is on our list of "only occasionally". I really believe that some minor adjustments to their menu selections and price points would change that. Unfortunately, nothing on the dessert menu tempted us. We figured we would enjoy a Lindt chocolate bar from Publix just as much, and headed over there. A bottle of Cab at home with some good dark chocolate is a great way to end a delicious meal. Wow!!! Bin 595 was totally more then what we expect and more! We live in Miami and bin 595 is in plantation,fl like a 35 min drive but SO WORTH IT!!! You all must go! Special thanks to chef Robert maliner for making really great! From the first moment we walk in,to the service the food was off the charts and it's not super pricey with great quality food! Many many issues with this restaurant. Just stay clear unless you want to wait a long long time, eat bland food, not get what you order, and have wait staff stair blankly when you ask for a steak knife. Tons of issues and they still charged full price. They did and me an email to apologize but so not worth it. Try one of the other places that are close. I should have read the other reviews. This place has a history and doesn't seem to want to change. read more

Not worth the price. When we asked "what do you have on tap." Waiter responded "lite, wheat and a mango"??? Then just looked at us instead of explaining the types. After our two beers and $22 bucks later, we left ,.. Vowing never to return. read more

Extremely dissapointed in the food. Spent $36 on a bland, flavorless steak. Potatoes and vegetables had no flavor. They apparently don't understand what seasoning is. A McDonald's burger has more flavor than what they served. I can spend a fraction of the price and get a better meal almost anywhere else. This was our third or fourth time eating here, and the food and service were as good as always! We both had the bone-in ribeye as the filet others have written about is no longer on the menu. To say the ribeye was great would be an understatement! One of the best I have ever had!! Pittsburgh both sides medium rare...was cooked perfectly, and had incredible flavor! Came here for my grandmas birthday. Came in at 7. Places our order. Table of 7. It was at 815 my food came in. All the food came at different times. The noise was horrible after 8 pm. Wait an hour for food was not acceptable. As well as not even having bread or anything ( although the waiter gave us bread somehow. ) also the size of the food compared to the price. Very off. I came here in 2010 and this was my first visit since. Very disappointed this was a Wednesday at 7pm. I will say my steak was very good just took way to long . Everything took a long time. read more
