By far the tastiest rotisserie chicken I have tasted in southern California, the chicken is full of flavor, it is moist and DELICIOUS, the lady taking the orders is very sweet along with then guy putting our orders together, very friendly and they pay attention to detail, they thoroughly check your order before it is given to you, the inside is very clean, plenty of tables to dine in and enjoy your order. I've been eating here occasionally for the better part of twenty years, and I'm sad to say my visit earlier this evening will be my last. First, and most importantly, the food has steadily gone downhill since they stopped being a Juan Pollo but tried to keep serving the same food. The chicken is now dry and the rice is tasteless. They no longer have lemons to squeeze onto your food, and the soda selection has dwindled down to almost nothing. Cola, diet cola, and Dr. Pepper, I think it was. But final deal breaker is the service. I got there this evening at 6:45 and discovered they close at 7:00, despite their web site saying they close at 8:00 seven days a week. When I tried to suggest to the woman behind the counter that she let the owner know their web site is incorrect, she argued with me! She said they changed their closing time two years ago, and based on how worn and dogeared the piece of paper taped in the window showing the new hours is, I believe her. In any event, she flat out insisted that I was wrong and that the web site said 7:00. So when I got home, I checked. Sure enough it says 8pm, every day. So not only has the business been lying to their prospective customers for the past two years, but the employees are lying to actual customers, and apparently the business is cool with employees arguing with customers. Just in case anyone doesn't believe me I'll try to upload a screenshot of the relevant section of their web site once I've finished typing this. Hopefully when you read this it will be in the photos section. So that's it. After all these years, I'm done with Tasty Chicken. Fortunately I live on the other side of Rancho these days, so I'm actually closer to the Juan Pollo in Fontana, which is still great. And if you're coming from the west instead, the reviews here say there's still a Juan Pollo in Upland too, though it's no longer in the location it was when I last lived over there. read more

My husband and I have always passed by this place and never eaten here until a few months ago. We've never eaten here when it was Juan Pollo either. I asked one of the employees about this and he said they changed the name to Tasty Chicken due to a family dispute over the franchise. Nonetheless, our first time here was about 3 months ago (and we've been back multiple times since). The main thing we order is the Whole Chicken Mini meal which is a whole chicken, tortillas, and 3 small sides. However, since the potato salad is so good, I always ask that they give me a bigger size potato salad and forget the beans! We've also tried the burrito (which is ginormous!), tacos, and salad. I've never had to call ahead. Once I come in and order, my food is ready within minutes! I mean... I haven't even put my coins back into my coin purse. It's that fast. I've always paid cash here. The staff here is not very chatty and are straight to the point; mild or spicy, corn or flour.. bam bam bam and I'm out the door. The chicken has always been hot and fall off the bone. Every time I ask my husband what he wants to eat on Friday, it's Tasty Chicken. I agree it's not in the nicest plaza around; fairly old and we don't usually eat in, but so far the food has been good every time we've taken out. It was anything but TASTY. The chicken was small, I've seen pigeons bigger. The chicken was dry and over cooked. As for their service the lady treated us as if we were cattle, she rushed us through with NO hi or thank you. The only thing I heard her say was how much it was and "corn or flower, hot or mild"? I'm surprised this place only has 3.5 stars. Every single time I've come here the service and food has been consistent and exceptional. I usually order a (2) piece with breast and leg. The breast meat is never dry, and falls right off the bone. The skin is seasoned perfectly. Not too salty, cooked perfectly, right amount of crisp (I know rotisserie chicken skin isn't typically crispy, but this place has perfected the balance of texture). I've noticed a few wannabes pop up around town and this is who they're trying to copy and for good reason. Anyways so I stopped here the other day with my nephew and as always greeted right away with a smile, ordered and the food was ready in minutes. Hot fresh and absolutely delicious! The Chicken....I'd KILL for that recipe! So juicy, so fresh, crispy skin....MmmMm I'm starting to drool. (Any former employees send me a message with the recipe please!!! haha) The potato salad is always good and a perfect side with the Chicken. The rice it's....to be honest on the bland side...dry. Not my favorite. But if you mix the rice, potato salad, chicken and hot salsa it tastes really good. The hot salsa usually is HOT but the last 2 times has failed as far as the heat but the flavor is there for sure! TIPS: I've noticed sometimes I take it to go and some of the white meats tends to get on the dry side but if you hit it with a little lemon it brings it right back. Thought we would try out this place for the first time. Walked inside and was not the cleanest. Many of the tables appeared dirty with trash on the ground. My 3 year old daughter had to use the restroom really bad before we ordered. We went to use the restroom and an employee informed us that the restrooms in the entire complex were not working because they have bad plumbing. So we quickly ran a few doors down to another restaurant before my daughter had an accident. The staff at the restaurant were very nice. Brought us right to the restroom. I asked if they had pluming issues and they said no. So we ate there and it was great. Afterwords we went back to Tasty Chicken. I spoke with the manager who told me their plumbing only works in the mornings and the complex has pluming issues. I let him know that the restaurant 2 doors down denied any plumbing problems. He then said the restroom is only for customers. I do not recommend this place based on my experience, staff unfriendliness, and the filthy appearance of the establishment. read more
