Not much here to rave about, especially towards service (we informed the lady server it was our little girl's 4th birthday & she specifically chose Chinese food, so we decided to try this place since we were new to the immediate area....she couldn't have seemed more disinterested). Uh yeah, this place is tasty. Totally exceeded my expectations cause I wasn't really expecting much to be quite honest... oops. Had the $23.99 combination plate special... which consisted of 2 veggie eggrolls, 2 crab wontons (pretty much the cheese fried ones), your choice of hot & sour soup OR wonton soup, and 3 dishes from the menu (pork, chicken, beef or veggie / add $2.50 for seafood dishes) and steamed rice! Had the mongolian chicken, shredded pork with garlic sauce, and beans with beef... twas good... lots. of. meat!! Even though we did primarily order meat dishes.... totally not expecting that much meat, definitely need to revise the selection next time, but what can I say.. once you get into a restaurant and you're hungarry you totally want meat. Ugh. Mmm meat. The wonton soup came out in a big bowl for us to scoop! Totally not expecting that either, just thought it would be a bowl of soup each, but nooo they gave us a bunch moreziez. About 2 full bowls a piece when we scooped it out. I believe there were 9 wontons in there with some spinanchy greens floating at the top AND BBQ PORK. Yum. Just a few slices, but great anyway. Not sure if they give complimento tea, but they sure refilled our waters very frequently! (Although we were pretty much the only people in there, yup only people) Also, I noticed on their menu they had a 10% coupon floating around that you could present for you know, 10% off. The food here is the best! Every dish is so flavorful! My favorites are the honey walnut shrimp,combination chow fun/fried rice, and chicken vegetable entree. Staff could smile and be friendlier but the food is delicious. Fridays and rainy days are their busiest days. order the honey walnut prawns and the mongolian beef comes with tons of jalapeños ..super tasty! They accept credit cards with a $20min order but that wont be a problem. Also look into their family meals! read more

I usually don't care too much for Chinese food in general as I'm always left feeling so bloated & gross (thanks MSG LOL) But I have to say Tasty completely changed this for me! I placed an online order through Yelp and used their delivery service which got to us exactly on time. Aside from timely delivery, the food was absolutely amazing. Tasty does such a great job on authentic, fresh tasting Chinese food - which you don't feel overly full from after. We ordered the chicken chow mein, veggie fried rice, egg rolls, sweet and sour pork and black pepper beef. I finally found a Chinese restaurant on the south-end of Newark. I got the lunch special Crispy General Tso's Chicken. Prices are a little high for a lunch plate, $8.65 could be lowered. Lunch plates come with a soda so be sure to grab yourself one from the little fridge. I have to say the chicken was good but can be more flavorful if put more spice. I'm happy that it came with Hot and Sour soup, spices didn't overtake the taste of tofu. I highly recommend this restaurant to people who love flavorful entree's. read more

I ordered the black pepper chicken and I was really happy with my choice. The chicken was seasoned well and was tender. I was shocked by how LARGE the portions are -- I could have shared my meal with three people. Also, the food is very affordable. So, my friend John (the same John in one of my earlier reviews) suggested to come over to Newark for Tasty Restaurant. I had no problems with coming to Newark. My concern was that the place may not be open on the first day of the new lunar year, the year of the snake. It was open thankfully. John picked a good Chinese food spot seeing that I saw the Yelp sticker. The people were great in serving us. I remember John saying that the food here is flavorful and he's right. The food was excellent pretty much, as we got crab cakes, jiao zi or pot stickers for many of you, shrimp chow mein, chicken chow fun and at least one or two items that I've forgotten. What makes the place great also is that if you don't want to go out of your house, the place will deliver. Regarding flaws, there are not many that I can recall. I suppose that the place could have used more drinks like a flavored iced tea. (The place probably has it, but I may not be aware of it.) Also, this may be a ticky tack issue, but for some reason, I'm not a fan of the color layout regarding the walls. Other than that, there's not much else to say. Of all of my pre-college friends, I only talk with 2 of them regularly these days and I'm glad that both of them know their places real well. In fact, one of them is a Yelp user. Anyway, Tasty is just that: tasty. It has great people working here and the food's great. This place is my go to for good, clean(er) tasting chinese food. Every food item I've had here is pretty flavorful, maybe just a tad salty. But either way, they are very consistent in terms of delivery, taste, and quality. Only gripe I have is one experience I had with their delivery, took FOREVER. Lunch meal combo consists of soup, can of soda, and the actual entree with egg fried rice. To-go orders have the exact same components, too (encountered some places that disappointingly doesn't give you soup for to-go), which makes it even better. I absolutely love this place, my go-to to-go when ever I'm in the area or the occasional crave. Is the HOT and sour soup filled with pepper and sometimes so spicy that leaves my lack-of-heat-tolerant tongue dying? Is the food sometimes flavored to top notch and just a tad too greasy and oily? Is the entree so incredibly TASTY as the restaurant's name? Regardless, Mongolian Beef and peppered chicken are wonderful, stir fried in a way that leaves them slightly crispy/crunchy. As many on this page have already confirmed, TCK serves delicious Chinese food. There are many choices to choose from and they always answer their phone, which is also why we have supported this business for years. Today, I tried their salt and pepper pork and while the taste was really good, the portion of the actual pork pieces left a lot to be desired. This dish came in small, heavily battered small pieces. After eating a few pieces of tasting mostly batter, I opened up the next few pieces to actually see if there were any pork inside. There was! But they were the size of pork pieces you would find in fried rice. So I'm skipping this dish next time I order from this place again. Because despite not being a fan of this item, they have many more dishes to choose from that are really delicious and portioned graciously. read more

This is my mother's favorite Chinese restaurant. I am sad for her that this place requires her to be technologically savvy and have a smart phone with access to apps to place an order. She used to be able to place her order over the phone. Well, no more...That is no longer allowed. Instead she has to drive to the restaurant and place her order in person, increasing her exposure more people and to COVID. She is a senior and immune compromised. Some of the best places I have experienced good food are sometimes located off the beaten path or even become like the cliche a little hole in the wall. On the contrary many restaurants have the big dinning experience but not the burst of flavor! With COVID-19 in place dining out isn't worth the chance especially when elders are included. As I drove throughI a deserted part of Newpark Mall that was once vibrant part of the side strips I walk up to a window with a table, cardboard and plastic sheet, the young worker pulls back the cardboard as I state what I ordered, the bag was heavy and the aroma smelled so good in the short ride back to my elders . This post is an afterthought and Wish I would of taken a pic of the Beef Mixed Vegetable, Sweet n Sour Pork and Garlic Eggplant but the food was bought by my Father and my elderly parents would not understand why I would want to take pics and post! The portions are heaping generous, the beef was pound thin tender and great selection of bok choy, carrots and broccoli and the sweet n sour had a batter that suspended the pork in a delightful crunch but still tender, the bell peppers so fresh, the white onion maybe cut a bit smaller but a very vibrant and fragrant dish! Now for the surprise was the Garlic eggplant, for me it was so good! But the jalapeño with the seeds was a little too much for the elders and they can't see them, I picked them out and they ate it all up! Like I said I wish I could of taken a pic! read more
