To be clear, 3 stars is being a little generous. Chow mein is usually my favorite and can never go wrong, but this one was just not good. It's mushy, and flavorless with a hint of burnt. The orange chicken is a reddish color and tastes nothing like orange chicken. It's more of a sweet & sour type sauce but was not that good. The rest of the food was bland and had no flavor. When I shop Costco, I try to stop by Tasty Goody. They have some dishes that other Chinese fast food don't, and their portions are huge. I love their rice noodles, eggplant, green beans, curry, and bbq pork. They changed their wings, I hope they go back to the other way of preparing them. I see this place every time I turn into Costco. Today, I gave it a try since I was nearby at Loma linda faculty clinic for an appt. The food is already cooked. It reminds me of Panda Express. They weren't super busy on a Wednesday around 1pm. They had plenty of staff that are there to serve the food. We got 4 lunch bowls for $ 8.49 each. It comes with rice or noodles. They top it with one meat. We got their orange chicken. My teenager said it was the worst orange chicken he's ever had. My other teen got the teriyaki chicken. It was OK. The portions were moderate. I got the tofu and eggplant side. The tofu was good but missing the eggplant. Overall, the food is standard fast food Chinese American. It wasn't the best but it was sufficient. Also, they have a small dim sum menu. The dim sum items look very small and prices were high. I did get 2 orders of sesame balls. They were one bite. Stopped for dinner after getting off the road and staying at local hotel. Friendly service. I ordered cook to order as the trays reminded me too much of Panda Express. Ordered the quart of Mongolian beef and egg flower soup. Soup was very goood lots of egg and was hot after the walk back to hotel and for a long time afterwards. The Mongolian beef had good taste but too many pieces of the beef were chewy and stringy. LOTS of onions. Added some chili sauce and finish the quart. The bad meat was disappointing. I got a 2 meat combo ($11.50) with the veggies, I think it's called chop suey, chow mein, beef broccoli, and mushroom chicken. My husband ordered shrimp fried rice. On my combo, the ocean seemed good and it looked very good. I hadn't had Chinese in quite a while and was just craving it. We live in the area but haven't eaten there. I think one time like eight years ago and it was awful so we didn't go back. We wanted to give it another chance today. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside was not busy at all & had plenty of staff. I mentioned to the lady that they really need to check their temperatures because everything is so cold. She offered to microwave my food. Which really doesn't seem right. I asked for some sweet n sour sauce hoping it would warm it up a lil. The sauce was much warmer but normally the sauce would be super hot. She came to the table to offer to microwave it again but I told her the styrofoam can't go in the microwave. I shouldn't have eaten some but I was hungry. Luckily I didn't get sick. The shrimp fried rice was NOTHING like it should be. The only thing it was, was hot. It was more like a garlic rice with frozen vegetables (peas, carrots, corn & green beans) and some white onion and heated shrimp. The guy says let me get my manager the manager comes and says he can give a credit but needs the receipt. My friend checks his pockets and didn't see his receipt at this point I have not walked outside or anything. I had been sitting inside at that table since paying and they basically refused us because the receipt was missing. Even though we paid never left and it was their food. I have been going to this place for years and have never asked to return a full combo. But Sunday I can say the food was horrible and I will no longer be returning to this establishment. As someone who does not enjoy wasting money or time I was highly upset with the way this problem was handled. I ended up leaving a full $13 plate sitting on the counter with one bite missing because I wasn't going to argue with anyone over some nasty food. So we decided to try this Tasty Goody location to give them another shot...Since it has been a long time we thought they might have changed. So the customer service is super friendly and very welcoming. Now, the food is another story. The food is not good at all. It's bland I mean flavorless absolutely no seasoning at all. Also a few of the dishes had an old oil taste. I couldn't eat the ones that tasted like old oil. It was a big turn off! I just ate my teriyaki chicken because it was really the only thing that was ok. My husband ate his food but agreed this locations food isn't good. I was having my tire changed next door at Costco and decided to give Tasty Goody a try ( since it had been years since my last visit)... after we ordered and halfway thru eating, I noticed an employee walk over to the end of the serving counter, take off their mask and started blowing/ cleaning their nose with their black gloves ON, and then they proceeded to put their mask back on, and NOT changing the gloves, went back behind the counter. Right after that, the same employee, walked over to the restroom ( with gloves ON), closed the door and was in there at least 5-6 minutes. After this employee came out of the restroom, they were still wearing the black gloves and headed back to behind the counter ready to serve customers again.. I don't care what those bad reviews say . This is one of those places that you definitely don't judge a book by it's cover . My first time there was on Sunday and I went literally 8 minutes till closing . They hardly had any orange chicken so I asked if they had anymore . You know incase they were making a fresh batch (because I've never been here so 8 minutes till closing can still be very busy) anywho the lady said no they didn't but she'd make a batch just for me .
