It's a tiny restaurant hidden in a strip mall of Santa Fe Drive. It's a simple little spot with tasty cheap food which is our kind of place. We had the shrimp vermicelli and veggie pho. The best pho that I have tried in Vista by far!! This restaurant is like a hole in the wall but I absolutely love this place! It is a small restaurant with limited seating but I have never experienced any wait. The service here is okay. I think the owners find it a little intimidating to talk to the customers because they aren't very fluent in English, but their food is amazing and I love them for it!! They do take some time for the food to come out compared to other pho restaurants, but that's only because everything is prepared right after you order it. The egg rolls are piping hot when they bring it out! Once you come here, you'll find yourself to be a regular! They have combo that consists of rare steak pho, 2 egg rolls, and a soda that I always get. It's super cheap (~ $7, they have a picture of it on their wall as it is not on their actual men). That combo is the perfect size for me and my roommate, but we do agree that the pho is on the smaller size. While this amount of food is plenty for me, a few of my guys friends complained that it's just not enough food, so they end up ordering a vietnamese sandwich (~$5) I definitely recommend the combo that I mentioned previously and their sandwiches!! My little sister and I needed to stay relatively near Carlsbad at the time but we really wanted some sort of noodle soup for lunch so this came up as the best option on Yelp. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I know they had a high rating on Yelp but even then, I didn't really think much about it at the time. I'm not sure if it's always like this, but there was only one lady there to make the food, serve the food, and run the cash register. I have to give props to her because that can't be too easy to do. Although we went for lunch, we went around 2-3pm so it was past the lunch rush hour. When we got there, there was one couple who was just leaving so we were the only customers. The lady was pretty quick with giving us the menu so while we were browsing, she was cleaning up another table. After she finished, she brought us some water with lime. We ordered then as well. I had to get something to-go for someone else, so I ordered that too at the same time. The shrimp & pork spring rolls came out first which was nice because my little sister was starving. The spring rolls were a lot bigger than I thought they would be so that was a plus. They were quite refreshing and delicious. There wasn't any mint in it, which is how I like my spring rolls, but it was still yummy so no complaints there. A little while later, our pho came out. I got the Tal Nam Gau Gan Sach (slice of rare steak, well-done flanks & briskets) and my sister ordered the Chin Nam Gau Gan Sach (well-done steak, briskets, flanks, tendon, tripe). I have to say the pho was fantastic! It was just the right amount that I wasn't uncomfortably full by the end of it and there was a lot more meat in it than most pho places. I have to say I really enjoyed the pho here. While we were enjoying our pho, I could hear the lady making the combination fried rice that I ordered to-go. She pretty much finished making it and packaging it when we finished our pho so that was awesome. She also asked if we wanted more water then as well. I noticed the couple from before go up to the cash register to pay so that's what I did. No problems there. All in all, this was a nice experience. I came and signed up just so I could review on this restaurant. Today was the first time I've ever been here and the first time I've ever tried Pho in general. I was EXTREMELY pleased with my visit. I walk in and was greeted and helped right away. Having never tried it, I had lots of questions and the sweet, old man was very patient and helpful, answering them all. I wanted to try their egg roll along with my chicken soup but I didn't want all 3 that came with the order so I skipped on it but the owner surprised me when bringing out my order with just one sample, for FREE! So not only was I pleased by the service, but my food was absolutely delicious. Having this pho restaurant be the first I've tried, I have nothing to compare it to. Honestly one of my favorite go to's. I'm a regular now but just stumbled across this placement . It's a little hidden and I wouldn't have even seen it had I not find it on yelp. I have gotten both chicken and steak pho both are delicious af. I'm Hispanic and load my menudo with lime so naturally I do the same with pho, I always ask for more like and they generously slice me up a whole one. The broth is super flavorful but not over the top just perfect they have ur regular spices but their oil chile is a little dull but the rest are your typical sriracha, hoisen, soy... The sandwich baguettes are super cheap and super good! Actually everything is reasonably priced here. They have combo meals my fav is the chicken pho with spring rolls and soda it's like 9.54 suuuuuper value for what u get. And the peanut butter sauce for the spring rolls was tasty as well.
