I prefer calling or checking their website before using any 3rd party delivery/takeout services because of the extreme upcharge in prices. Called my order in, ready for pickup in 10 to 15 mins. Each hotpot was individually bagged with its condiments and sides, then labeled. Makes it super easy to look to see if everything is correct. The beef hotpot #1 is usually my families go but I like Taiwanese spicy with some modifications. They make it easy to substitute or takeout ingredients. Horrible service, when coming in we did get prompt to sit down however we had to ask for the sauces it didn't come with our food also I had an empty water cup and did not get a request to get water for 15-20 minutes had to ask for water and when they filled up the cups it was less than halfway up. Everyone was on their phones one employee seemed to be FaceTiming with someone and I guess I used to come here all the time it used to be good but now it has gone down hill will not be returning to this location. I'm a huge fan of the tasty pot franchise. Servers at the Milpitas location are excellent. I literally go to Tasty Pot 1-2 times a week with my wife especially at this location. However, the franchise needs to send a quality control to the Milpitas location. I order the Taiwanese flaming spicy every time I go. It doesn't matter if I order mild, medium, spicy, or flaming spicy. It's always somewhere between mild and medium. If I ask for flaming spicy, I expect flaming spicy. Newark location and other San Jose locations get the spice level correct consistently. And for the broth flavoring, it tastes like the base soup. Nothing wrong with the base soup flavor, it's actually delicious, but I want it to taste like the Taiwanese flavor I ordered. Again, it seems to be this location. To summarize, great franchise but this location is inconsistent with spice level and the seasoning. At least for Taiwanese flaming spicy. read more

It was so nice that this location provided dining in option. We were seated pretty far from others and we got here about 30 mins after they open. It wasn't as busy I thought it would be. There is hand sanitizer provided, staff wear masks, and sauce comes in individual portions in little plastic to go containers. If you come at lunch, sometimes 4/8 tables are in the sun, so come early so you don't have to wait or sit in the sun. There is ample parking due to COVID-19 conditions. All my friends get the classic beef pot, which has shacha (aka satay) sauce in the broth. I definitely recommend the beef pot. Shacha sauce is a chinese bbq sauce that pairs so well with anything hotpot related; it is savory and has a meaty flavor made with soybean oil, garlic, shallots, chilis, brill fish, and dried shrimp. IT'S SO GOOD. The soup is VERY HEAVY and has me sprouting pimples, but no regrets because it's so flavorful and tasty, and I still come at least once a week regardless. Super umami. In the recent years, the quality of beef at tasty pot has really improved, and can now compete with Boiling Point in my opinion. For lunch, there is a choice of free green or black tea, which is super value. Mild spice is not really spicy at all, but I think it's perfect given all the competing flavors. Tasty Pot is probably the biggest Hot Pot restaurant I've ever been to. The grandiose dining area, tech ordering, and efficient staff make me feel like royalty here. So why the 3 star rating? The food. It was A-Ok but I won't consider it good either. The waiting area is really small so we waited half an hour outside. The good thing is checking in was super easy. You walk-in to a tablet, enter the number of people in your party, and put your phone number in. They'll text or call you when a table is ready! Also, if you're in a rush or you've been waiting around and know what you would like to order, theres a separate tablet where you can pre-order before you are seated! All you would have to do is put the last 4 numbers of your check-in number and bam! Food is served when you are seated. We all ordered the Taiwanese Spicy soup with various levels. I ordered super spicy while the other two ordered medium. Quite frankly the spice labels for all of our bowls taste the same. I will say though, that they don't skimp on toppings. The whole thing was loaded with a bunch of meat and seafood. I took left overs home and I seriously looked like I didn't do damage LOL. Had a great time earlier this evening. Such great friendly service. My friend and I walked in without any reservation. The restaurant was about 70% full. We were kindly greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Food arrived fast and really hits the spot. Since I am such a big fan of Tasty Pot, I wanted to see how the new place compares to the ones in San Jose & Cupertino. First impression is that the restaurant is spacious and well-staffed. As I normally get either the #1 beef or the #2 lamb pot, and for valid comparison, I have decided to order the beef pot mild with vermicelli. There's also an additional condiment available on the table including sweet fermented bean, satay, soy garlic, and chili oil. Comparing to other Tasty Pot, this place is just as good, if not better. The service was expedient and the staff seemed well-trained and coordinated. My friend ordered a traditional boba milk tea with 25% sugar. Being a purveyor of boba teas around the Bay Area, indicated that the tea was find but the boba texture was a bit hard. All and all, glad that this place opened as it's now much closer to both work and home. read more

A new tasty pot in the Milpitas Square plaza location. This plaza already has a lot of eateries and a Ranch 99 so parking can be difficult to find here. I came here with a party of 4 on a Saturday night around 7pm. There was no wait even though the restaurant seemed pretty crowded. Their location had a lot of seating but I felt like the tables were kind of cramped. I ordered the Kimchi Dumpling Soup with medium spicy. Our order came out in a pretty reasonable amount of time. The medium spiciness got me at first when I ate it too fast while it was too hot but after it cooled down it was so good to eat. I love all the dumplings and meat extras in there, but they really fill your bowl with a lot of cabbage and kimchi. Hmm. I've always heard people raving about tasty pot but this was my first experience, and it was just okay. Sure it was soft opening, and I appreciate the 15% off, but I'm gonna have to compare this to boiling point. I love boiling point. The sauces between both places are pretty similar, yummy. Yesterday I tried the beef hotpot, pretty similar but a few differences in the ingredients. Some ingredients just felt like they were frozen and just thrown into my bowl. My tomato, corn, and taro never cooked to an enjoyable temperature. The tomato got hot but the skin was very firm. The corn was straight up undercooked. The taro, I don't know what the intention of it was, it looked like a French fry, but it was dry, cold, and nasty. My flame went out on its own rather quickly, so I didn't get a chance to further cook my items. I usually do put out my flame pretty quickly at boiling point though and everything stays hot. Service was also really slow, I think my soup took about 15-20 Minutes to come out! I never touched the rice until after I got my soup and it was cold and pretty rock solid by then. Either it was always that way or waiting for the soup to come out made the rice meh. I may come back in the future but I live way closer to boiling point. read more

It's in the Barber Lane plaza, so be sure to take or hide all your valuables. The space inside is very big and accomodating. My personal favorite is their tomato soup hot pot. We are Tasty Pot fans having frequented the one near our home a number of times. In the San Jose area on a cool evening and so a big bowl of hot pot seemed like a great idea for dinner. I think a number of other folks had the same idea as it was very busy. The wait was about 20-25 minutes which is a bit of a bummer as we were hungry. The restaurant is located in a large asian shopping center which was very busy when we first arrived and parking took a little time to find. I had my usual #7 and wife had #4. My #7 was a little different in that they added a lot of kim chee so the broth was quite spicy. I like some spice, but the combo of kim chee and "mild" spice is usually good for me. Glad that I did not order "medium" spice as I sometimes do. We ordered the popcorn chicken for our son and shared some of the rice that came with the hot pot which he enjoyed. Similar to other Tasty Pots, not much in the way of customer service given the crowd, but the food came out quickly and was good. I'm usually a frequent goer of Japanese hot pot places but my boyfriend loves Tasty Pot (which I believe is Taiwanese hot pot) so I decided to give this place a shot. Tasty Pot does a great job with their flavors of soup which are very umami in taste, and very different from the sweeter broths I am used to from Japanese hot pot. Your table also comes with 4 different sauces you can mix and match, to customize your meal to your liking. I came for late lunch on a Saturday and was surprised to find this place pretty empty (mind you that this was just prior to the shelter-in-place). This plaza is usually very packed so parking may be hard to find. All of the entrees come standard with a clear vermicelli noodle but you can ask to swap for ramen noodles for an extra charge. The odd thing thing about it though is that the ramen comes on the side in its pre-cooked form, and the entrees are so overloaded with meat and veggies that it's pretty impossible to put the ramen in and let it cook... you have to eat half of your entree before there is room to cook the noodles, and by then your fire may have burned out already..? Very strange dining experience, which is why I'm knocking two stars off. Also, they serve sweetened tea here which I'm guessing is their base for their milk tea drinks. However they don't serve any refills so we had to ask for water as well. I also found this to be kind of a strange experience, why serve the sweetened tea as the default drink if we have to pay for refills?
