I like this location better than the one in Newark. The ambiance is much nicer and newer. Came here on a Monday lunch and was surprised that there was quite a bit of people, granted it was during Christmas break. I ordered the Stinky Tofu Hot Pot and it was delicious (by the way, they give you a free cup of tea to go with it). The flavor of the broth is really strong - free refills included. All the ingredients in the dish was really good, especially the pork blood rice cake which is pretty hard to find in the Bay Area. Also the sauce, aka mixing everything together, is amazing as always. Overall, great experience as always and definitely would come back. I love Tasty Pot! It's my favorite Taiwanese/Individual hot pot place. The wait time here has never been longer than 20 minutes for me. The service is efficient. Before COVID, you'd order with the waiter/waitress. Now, you would scan a QR code on the table and order straight from your phone. I always order #1 - Beef hot pot. You choose which hot pot you want, spice level, and if you want rice or vermicelli. Also, on the side, you will get a cup of peanut sauce and garlic soy sauce. If you want your sauce to be spicy or soup to be spicier, you can request for some chili oil. I love that the individual hot pots are so flavorful and comes with a variety of meats and veggies. You can also order more side dishes to add into your hot pot or to just eat on the side. Also, the staff would walk around and ask if you want more broth. Me and my partner been coming here consistently every week for a year now. Food is great, service is great, restaurant has a great vibe. It's clean, they play movies while u eat and the waiters are friendly and fast. Price is fair for the amount of food you get. Highly recommend this place and everyone that I bring here loves it! Tasty Pot for the WIN! Yes this place is delicious and unique in it's own way. This restaurant serves up hot pot with different mixtures such as seafood, meat, veggies, etc. They are also known for their tea drinks! First off I love their complimentary green tea. It's smooth and sweet but has that nice grain taste which I love. We ordered bowls of their spicy beef and sides of fish balls with fish roe stuffing. I love how you can mix different sauces together to your liking and dip your meats into them. I also really like how they come around with a kettle with broth for extra soup! Everything tastes delicious with the rice so this is a plus. The concept of hot stew with all the trimmings served in this nice bowl with it's own flame keeping it hot is a unique one. When did Tasty Pot start giving out a free cup of tea? I really like that! It's been a while since I've been here since I'm not from the area. I always look forward to my #1 at tasty pot. This was by far the best experience yet when it came to customer service. It was on point from the time I sat down to the time I left. I really enjoyed the pace of it as well. I drank my delicious tea and ordered. The food came out 10-minutes later. I was to indulge into my hot pot. The bowl of rice was just enough, although I was so tempted to order another one. My meal was delicious. Everything was just right! I love it when they top off the soup with more broth. That person is the real M.V.P. I asked for another tea because I thought it was free but the lady said it was only 1-per person. It's totally understandable! Overall, great experience and I would totally go back to this location. Finally got a chance to try this place out. This chain is expanding all over the place. There's one in Dublin, fremont, San Jose, etc... Order the lamb hot pot #2 and Hokkaido milk tea. I like the individual hotpot better since u can choose your soup base. The portion is good as well. You will get full with the bowl of rice. There is good meat and veggies. I like the soup base as well. Almost finish the soup. So far, I only tried the #2 from this chain. It's the cheapest option in the first tier. Good enough for lunch. I am pleasantly surprised this spot was tastier than the Dublin spot. I think they will do well as there is no other hotpot in this mall. Not that I know of... There is wuji at hostetler, the able place is nasty, and I have not check out the Montague one in the target mall. The closest competition is another Taiwanese hot pot boiling point in Fremont little Taipei. It's like coke vs Pepsi with these two taiwanese hot pot chains. But yes, I would pick Tasty Pot over Boiling Point any day. I guess more flavorful, ingredients seem to be plenty. BP gives me the "it's alright, gets the job done," but TP gives me the "yes, now I can live" vibes. Kimchi dumpling is my go-to, you get dumplings and ramen, and your usual side of rice/vermicelli. Carbs on carbs on carbs. Lamb or beef are good too, if I feel like more meats that day. I've had the curry flavor one, it's a bit light on the curry flavor, and balls are good, but too much balls got me thinking how much processed food I'm inhaling. Then last time, I found my new favorite, bless my tongue and kidney, Sichuan hot pot at very spicy level. Boy, it was delicious, but I honestly don't want to think about the sodium level when I go ham on the spice. That one has quite a bit of seafood and it is on the expensive end, being closer to $20. To the owner who replied to my review, Sally, If kimchi is not included in your seafood hotpot, why was so much of it in my soup? From the pics, it's very obvious there is a lot of kimchi in there. Perhaps you should double check the menu ingredients in your offerings because your ordering system says there is kimchi included, along with Napa cabbage, in the seafood hot pot. I'm assuming your restaurant was out of Napa cabbage and substituted with extra kimchi. Communication would have been appreciated as the soup just tasted like kimchi. It is an overpowering flavor. I get the sense that you're defensive over my review. It wasn't bad, I gave 4 stars! But for you to take the effort to respond by insinuating I was wrong when the pictures prove I'm right, and assuming that I ordered incorrectly when you clearly don't know the ingredients in your own hot pot offerings is embarrassing for you. Writing a second review for this as they have some promo going on, and tried two different flavours this round - the Japanese miso, and seafood but changed the soup to spicy Thai! I enjoyed the miso better than the tomato from the last round - but it didn't really taste "like" Japanese miso. I'm guessing it was a mix with some other stock. However, I did enjoy the ingredients as there was crab! Hubby ordered the seafood soup and it came with a generous serving of lobster, fish, squid rings, and prawns. We also realised that the dishes priced at $17+ were slightly smaller than the $20+ options. They currently have a promo where you can "spin the wheel" after ordering - and you could get prizes ranging from ice-cream, 10% off, a free meal, a keychain etc. We spun the wheel and got the key chain but they ran out! So they gave us ice-cream instead and it was lovely! I had always wanted to try the ice-cream but it's pretty pricey at $4.99, so it was a treat to "win" it. YUM! First time at tasty pot and I'm a fan. Came here Sunday lunch and the wait was less than ten minutes. Ordered the Kimchi Dumpling Soup. I love all the varieties that's in it. I guess next time I'll order the Kimchi on the side since it's in the broth, you don't really taste the kimchi. It's literally cabbage on cabbage on cabbage. I usually get the #1 beef medium with vermicelli and I can say it's definitely comparable to the original spot! My boyfriend and I went here on a Sunday around 2:15pm and there was no wait. I was a bit worried I wouldn't like a restaurant like this because it doesn't have a lot of rice or noodles as the main part of the dish (I'm more of a mostly rice or noodles type of girl). I've heard so many people say good things about this restaurant, so I decided to finally give this place a try! When we got seated, they handed us a nice cup of cold tea. It was unexpected, but still nice since most restaurants I've been to give out water. When looking through the menu, my boyfriend and I were both debating on which soup pot each of us wanted, so we ended up getting both and shared it since we were debating on the same ones. I chose the Beef Hot Soup and my boyfriend got the Kimchi Dumpling Hot Soup. They let you choose your spice level and side of rice or vermicelli too! We both chose rice. Then our food arrived. The presentation looked neatly organized! It was so hot that we asked them to turn off the flame for our pots. I enjoyed my Beef Hot Soup item and every part of my item tasted good and not overcooked. It went well with my small rice bowl. My boyfriend's Kimchi Dumpling Hot Soup was cool too, but was a bit spicy for me even though he chose one of the lower spice levels. It was nice how his soup came with dumplings instead of vermicelli, like most of the items here. I'd recommend this place! The service and food was great! When you run low on soup, the staff will come around and pour more into your pot. It was a good experience for me and this is coming from someone who prefers having either mostly rice or mostly noodles as her food menu choices. Was there with a large family group. Half of us arrived and they refused to sit us even though they have empty tables and no one was waiting (bad move). We were literally discussing which restaurant to go had the last table got taken when the rest of the group arrived. Luckily, another waiter noticed and quickly sat us (smart move). Each of us ordered individual pots. The pot came in decent portion, however, the rice/noodle portion was little. We are not big eater, so it works out and the rice/noodle barely touched. The flavor is simply missing, when compared to my last visit to the Newark location, just can't pinpoint it, but trust me. Also, the vermicelli included in the pot, was missing, there was 5 strands of vermicelli in each of our pots? Why even provide 5, just omit it entirely if you're going to be stingy. And the "add-on" of intestines, was clarified to me as being "10 peices"; it was 10 pieces that were approximately 1/2 a centimeter thick. See photo for my wasted $5 add-on. And, their QR code "service button" doesn't work, I received "confirmed request" 4 times and nobody arrived. Then, suddenly my bill arrived (there is a separate "request bill" button). I was asking for a new burner gel as mine had blown out and I was eating cold soup, literally, cold. All the other Tasty Pots I've been to you at least got a bowl. I just can't get down with eating out of a paper cup. When the pot came it was small. In the bay for the weekend - First time here on Sunday afternoon and we arrived about 1-ish pm with a party of 16. We got sat almost immediately and the staff tried their best to be accommodating since our party was huge. Service was average; however, the San Diego location still has the best customer service/waitstaff! They have a decent variety of hot pot flavors to choose from. I love choices!! We ordered multiples of the Beef Hot Pot, Curry Hot Pot, Taiwanese Hot Pot & Japanese Miso Hot Pot. I had the Curry Hot Pot myself and it was packed with meat, fish balls, veggies and flavor! You have a choice of rice or noodles with your pot. Make sure you use all 3 of the dipping sauces on the table. It's amazing!! The steaming pots came out for the whole party, and we wished the servers were more attentive with refilling our waters and bringing around more broth. Although this plaza gets pretty busy and it may be hard to find parking at times, there are so many restaurants here that usually this location is not as packed. I usually come here, if their Newark is packed (which 9 out of 10 times it is). I get my usual Japanese Miso, it usually hits the spot. The service here is spotty - better service when you sit inside compared to outside. The two times I sat outside, it was hard to get the attention of the staff for questions and concerns without getting up and going inside. Also, on one occasion - one of the waitresses knocked over and spilled the cup of iced tea all over the table and it got all over my friend's chair and she walked away nonchalantly without saying anything, but she came back with napkins for us to wipe ourself and walked away without saying anything at all - no apologies or anything. read more

For me personally, i drink a lot of water and i like how I don't have to ask for more water, they just refill for me. That shows how attentive they are. The atmosphere is really good too.
