We've been coming here for dim sum for years but had never tried their dinner service before. Today's experience was so unique that, for the first time in my life, I felt like I had stepped into Parasite. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and attentive as usual. However, the waitress who took our order seemed to struggle with English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. She spoke Mandarin with a Cantonese accent, so I switched to Cantonese, but communication was still difficult. She avoided eye contact, seemed distracted, had trouble with her iPad, and wasn't particularly attentive. When I asked whether they had seafood, she simply pointed me to a page with very few options. Oh well--I figured one seafood-free dinner wouldn't hurt. Then came the eye-opening part. A nearby table brought their own bottle of Moutai, and suddenly the service transformed. The waitress appeared with special tea cups that looked noticeably better than everyone else's. Her voice suddenly shifted into a high-pitched, almost anime-style girl voice as she enthusiastically pitched dishes..: "Boss, do you want lobster? Boss, Whole steamed fish?" The sales effort was relentless, even though the customer declined every suggestion. Her high-pitched "Oh my gosh!" voice that felt completely different from how she had been speaking moments earlier. The contrast was so dramatic that my partner still imitates it at home whenever he wants to be funny. Meanwhile, I sat there wondering where all these off-menu recommendations had been hiding. Apparently, the enthusiasm to sell premium dishes depends less on what's available and more on who's sitting at the table. Nothing says "customer service" quite like deciding someone's spending power before they've even ordered. When she made a tiny mistake, her reaction felt oddly theatrical. Rather than calmly fixing the issue, she became excessively apologetic and submissive in a way that felt disproportionate to the situation. It was uncomfortable to watch and came across as performative rather than professional. The restaurant feels geared toward mass-market dining rather than refinement. The portions are generous, which creates a sense of value, especially in expensive Irvine. That said, the ingredients felt average. Some vegetables were overly chewy, and the ribs contained so many small bones that they could easily chip a tooth if you're not careful. Because of the waitress's over-the-top attention toward that table, many diners started watching the scene unfold like free entertainment. Thankfully, the other servers were warm, professional, and equally friendly to everyone. Isn't that the whole point of hospitality--to treat every customer with the same level of respect? As a final touch, their chairs were spaced so far apart that getting out of our corner seat felt like an obstacle course. Perhaps the problem was that I left my Krug at home :) Overall: great entertainment, questionable hospitality, mediocre salty food, oily seating, and enough tiny bones to make every bite feel like a dental liability.
I've seen Tasty Spot Cafe many times, but finally trying it for the first time! I'm so glad we finally ate here. We were starving and came on a Friday evening. Parking was plentiful as this restaurant is located in a shopping center where there's a Korean grocery store, Zion Market. We were seated right away. It's a casual atmosphere with a decent amount of tables. I let the server know that it was our first time there. She was doing her best to be helpful to suggest some popular items. Our dinner started off with the wonton soup ($16.95) We chose not to have noodles with it. I intended to order the pork, but what came out was a combination of pork and shrimp in the wontons. The wontons were a good size and had good flavor. There was nothing else that came with it except the broth. No vegetables. I feel like it was a small amount for the price point. Next up, the minced pork with string beans ($18.95) were brought out. The green beans were delicious and not overcooked and still had a crunch to it. The minced pork was seasoned very nicely and complemented the vegetable well. And for the next dish, this was my favorite of our dinner, the two meat combination of barbecue pork and crispy roasted pork ($26.95). The crispy pork was amazing! The outer skin had a nice crunch to it, and there was a good balance of pork and fat. The barbecue pork was sweet and savory. I think we over ordered one dish too many. That's ok because we had some leftovers to take home. Lastly, we had the house special filet mignon ($27.95). This came with a lot of onions and some traces of green bell pepper. I believe it was Thai basil that was part of this dish, which I really liked! The service was nice and attentive, without being intrusive. That usually doesn't happen too often at these restaurants. It looks like they work as a good team. Another server handed us a fork and knife to cut the crispy pork and fillet mignon chunks. That was thoughtful since we didn't ask for it. We really enjoyed our dinner and will be coming back more often!

As your Dating Coach reviewer here on Yelp, I can unequivocally tell you that the universe greeted me in the form of Amy, my server, who was basically the human equivalent of your well‑timed first date: she courteously smiled, was attentive, and patiently answered all my questions without making me feel like I was being "politely tolerated." If you've been stuck in the Burger‑Fries‑Milkshake situationship (since you graduated from Gerber's peas, carrots and spinach mushy food jars), consider this your sign to expand your dating pool, I mean, your DINING pool, and try this place. IS THIS PLACE DATEWORTHY OR NOT? I give it a resounding Yes. Super casual and effortlessly charming. The kind of place where even your mother-in-law would approve. Now, a special shout‑out to Amy...Girl, you're the kind of server who makes a customer want to come back not just for the food, but for the experience. The restaurant itself is spacious, whether you're on a cozy date for 2 or hosting a chaotic party of 20 hungry people, you won't feel boxed in. It has that "big dinner party" vibe without the stress of actually hosting a big dinner party. And the roasted duck? OMG Amy told me it's cooked FRESH every single day, and honestly, the way she wholeheartedly explained it made me think about the giddiness that my girlfriends experience when a man actually texts them back right away. They go through so much marinated duck that I'm convinced this might be the best roasted duck in California. If you're from out of town, your trip here would be so worth it. Yes, I said it. This spot used to be Delicious Food Corner, and the menu is pretty much the same. You can order classic individual Hong Kong cafe dishes or go for larger family-style plates. There's also dimsum options to choose from. We had a bigger group, so we were seated in a quiet private room in the corner, which worked out really well. A few dishes were a bit salty, but overall everything was solid. My favorites were the honey walnut shrimp (crispy and not overly drenched in mayo like at other places), and the spicy garlic eggplant. The soy sauce chow fun is a classic and always a reliable choice. Service was excellent, and our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout.
This is located in the same plaza as Zion Market. Plenty of parking in this plaza, but with the market and other eateries it can get pretty busy. We came for lunch on a Saturday, place was packed but we were able to get a seat for 7. This place has those roasted duck, honey bbq pork & steamed chicken. They also have dim sum you can order off the menu. After ordering, each item came quite fast and we were able to enjoy the food all at the same time. We love what we ordered, especially the salted fish and chicken fried rice.
Recently discovered this authentic Hong Kong style restaurant and could not have been happier! A bit of a trek for us on the UCI side of Irvine in "traffic" but well worth the drive as we can't get this style of food in many places in Irvine with this taste! Definitely a must try. Service was very prompt and we cannot wait to go back! Food was fresh, piping hot, and flavorful! Also loved that they had dim sum all day
Rebranded from Delicious Food Corner, but it appears the menu items remain largely the same. We ordered some of the same items we used to get, and it tasted the same too, so not sure if there was a management change or just a name change. We came on a Monday night without a reservation for a party of 10 and was seated immediately even though not everyone in our party has arrived. The place is quite large and it wasn't too busy so they didn't mind that we just started ordering some food while we waited. Our server was friendly and I remember seeing her there in the past. The HK iced tea was very strong and flavorful with free refills. Everyone enjoyed the food. One of the fried items took extra long so we had to remind them a few times so I forgot to take a photo.
This visit I got the three meats again. Today was chicken, BBQ pork, and crispy pork. I got meat only since you get more. The server was nice enough to bring me a bowl of rice. As you can see from the picture they load your plate with meat. Service was very good. You really get your money's worth here. They even gave me a to go cup of my iced tea.
My husband and ai came here with our 13yo & 10yo boys for dinner after driving down from out of town. We arrived around 730pm on a Thursday night, and the restaurant was about 1/3 occupied. It's a big restaurant with many tables that can be put together to accomodate large groups. The AC was on cold and it's very bright inside unlike some restaurants where the lighting is so dim. We were seated immediately and given the menus. A staff came by right after asking to take drink orders. Then another staff came by to take food orders when we barely flipped through the main menu and 2 side menus. We were asked 3x if we were ready to order before we done looking through the menu. I was taken back and somewhat annoyed as I felt rushed. But we finally look through the main menu and order the following: 1. Beef Chow Fun: More noodles than beef. Smaller noodles used compared to other restaurants that ises larger noodles. Good flavor and not oily. Beef is tender. 2. Roasted Duck (half): Very tender, moist and flavorful, not too salty. Came with a small dish of sweet and sour sauce pair with. I wish the skin was crispier though. 3. HK Style Stir Fried Spare Ribs: This dish came out last and took the longest. It was very delish. The spare ribs were very tender and the taste is sweet and tangy, more on the sweeter side, with lots of pineapple, bell peppers and onions. The ribs were cut up too small so we bit into the bones easily. My 10yo son gave up on eating it as it hurt his teeth. 4. Stir fried string beans: A very good dish with salted minced pork. Need to eat with rice or else will be too salty to eat on own. String beans not crunchy as I would like as it a little soft but I would order this dish again. Food came pretty quick but the last dish took longest. We also could not order rice ahead as they wanted us to order rice once the food came out. The overall service is good as they are quick to take away your dirty plates and refilled water as meeded w/o us asking. We would definitely return in the future to try other items as we came towards end of day so a cod dish we wanted was not available. Note: Picture on menu may not be actual dish as there was a string bean & mushroom with fried tofu I wanted to order, but was told that the dish has mushrooms only. The string beans shown in the picture is just for the visual of the menu only. So be sure to confirm that the picture of an item you like will be the actual dish you get.
This meal hit exactly the way I wanted it to. I was craving beef chow fun and pineapple buns so I ordered delivery and oh my gosh this was the best way to end 2025. The beef chow fun had the perfect smokey charred flavor and there was so much beef. The noodles were chewy and not greasy at all and the veggies were perfectly crisp. I have no notes or critiques. The pineapple bun was also delicious. It was so fluffy with a crispy crust. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it satisfied my craving and I have no problems ordering it again. I will 1000% be back to try other menu items because I ascended to another dimension after this meal. Ratings Beef chow fun: 5/5 Pineapple buns: 4.5/5

We ordered takeout from DFC - wonton noodle soup, pork and preserved egg congee and pineapple buns with butter. Total was around ~41$, prices were pretty steep for what we got. The pineapple buns were sadly really disappointing and not something I'd get again. The texture wasn't good, flavor wasn't there. Definitely nothing close to something you would find in HK. read more

I was skeptical of this newer location at first because of the different decor and shrunken menu. However, the service was wonderful and the dishes they did offer were all perfection. Per our server, their renovation from the previous restaurant has not gotten to ovens yet, which is why they're missing some items. I had a busy week ahead and ordered some items for takeout, which allowed me to try more things. One of my favorite dishes is the shrimp egg chow fun and it tasted exactly as I hoped and am familiar with. For dine in we also ordered some crispy wings and they were delicious. Perfect crisp outside and still juicy and tender inside. The portions are generous and each dish can feed me 2-3 servings. My partner had the spicy fish and beef stew and it was super fragrant and the perfect spice for him. I cannot rave more about Delicious Food Corner. No complaints here! I'm so glad there is a location a bit closer to me that still knocks it out of the park. If you're looking for Cantonese cuisine, this is it. Lastly, we really appreciated our server telling us that she could do 20% off our bill for the Thanksgiving holiday (we dined on the Monday after). read more

After their remodel, they have breakfast combo, Milk-tea/lemon tea unlimited refill, and service is 200% more attentive. If Steve is in the house, then you will get VIP service! The bbq pork rice over egg- even a kid who usually dislike eating meat will clean up the plate. The German pork knuckle- must get! Crispy skin on the outside, soft and melt in your mouth meat on the inside. We left so full and satisfied. My family and I went on Christmas Day and luckily, my dad made a reservation because there was a consistent line out the door. Definitely would recommend making a reservation if possible. As of 12/25, they're currently in their soft opening phase and will be closing for 3 weeks in January and will be opening after Chinese new year in February. My family ordered the honey walnut shrimp, udon, lobster noodles, and veggies. If there's anything I would recommend of all dishes my family and I ordered, it would be the fried squid and fried chicken. It's honestly the tastiest dish I've had in a while! I was pretty stunned by how high the prices were but given it's a Chinese restaurant in Irvine, I would expect nothing less. Overall, the meal was good but quite salty, so it left me feeling thirsty for the remainder of the day. read more
Ever since Sam Woo's on Culver closed, my search for the next best Chinese restaurant has been quite the chore as no one ever seemed to stack up to the quality.....ok, Sam's wasn't the best I'd ever eaten, but it was the best and most convenient in the area. Then, I stumbled across this place while shopping at Zion across the way. And, I was so glad to see this place was a Hong Kong style restaurant with a few dim sum offerings. So, sure, of course I was going to give this place a try. Speaking of Sam Woo's, my wife and I recognized some of Sam Woo's staff, but they told us the owners of this place have nothing to do with Sam Woo's. So, figuring that this place would probably get pretty busy during regular lunch hours, we showed up soon after they opened, when the place was still very quiet....and so we got to sit anywhere we wanted. Ok, so this place is medium sized, decorated with a casual Chinese themed décor, and even has that little window where you can see the different roasted meats hanging. The service was not as bad as I had expected for a casual Chinese restaurant....not the friendliest, but definitely not rude at all. Since this was our first time here, we thought we'd order a few items from the dim sum menu along with some regular dishes. So, we ordered the Park Shu Mai (pork dumpling), Ham Shui Gok (fried glutinous rice dumpling), Bean curd skin Wrapped Meat, the Pan Fried Fish Filet with XO Sauce, and the Crispy Chow Mein with Chicken. I'm not sure if the cooks were in somewhat of a hurry, but our ham shui gok was so pale instead of the normal golden brown.....it was definitely not fired to a light crisp, but was just kind of ....eeerm....gooey. Also, the crispy fied chow mein with chicken was also definitely not fried enough as the noodles looked too light in color and there was very little crisp to them. The cook needs to slow down and let it be prepared it's supposed to be. On the bright side, the flavors were good....not too salty at all. I guess they're still new....and still going through their "Soft Opening"........so I'm willing to give them to work out their teething issues and hope they improve the quality of their food preparation. Oh yes, and perhaps include more favorite dim sum dishes on the menu.....like pan fried turnip cake. Ok, so I know we're going through inflationary times, but the prices here are definitely the highest I have seen anywhere for a casual Hong Kong restaurant. For these prices they definitely need to step up their food quality a whole 2 or 3 notches. We will likely be back in a few months time.....hopefully by then they would have gotten their game together. read more

We recently came back to this place during the Chinese New Year. It was packed but we were seated rather quickly. Food is always good as long as you know what to order. Their portions are smaller compared to other chinese restaurants but tasty. There is enough space in the dining area that diners don't have to maneuver themselves in netween tables to be seated. read more
I visited this restaurant which opened recently and it was quite nice. The decor inside was nice and modern. Their is plenty of seating. The tables are nice and the seating is comfortable. I ordered the French style steak which was tender and flavorful. Their noodles were delicious and so was the crispy tofu dish. The portions were generous and big enough to share. The service was friendly too. Overall, Delicious Food Corner is a great place to get Chinese food. The only con is that the food is quite pricey. read more

This is the second time I ate here with the soft opening. Staffs are friendly and fast. The restaurant is clean. We love Sam Woo and when they closed down, my family and I was sad. Then my husband wanted to try this place. The food is delicious! The Dim Sum is better then other Chinese restaurants in the area. Today, I brought my friends here for dinner. Everything was good. We don't have to go far for Chinese food. So glad that they open this place close by us. I recognized a few Sam Woo former staffs. Happy to see friendly and familiar faces. Maybe management can add Roast Duck Wonton Noodle Soup on the menu later. Hint hint read more

This place always seemed packed for brunch and dinner lol. Food here is decent, but it looks like something you can cook at home. Presentation isn't always the best and the food is on the sweeter side. Service is decent. read more

Arrived around 6:30-7:00 P.M. on a Saturday night. It was about a 20-30 minutes wait for a party of 3. Great customer service, but not so great dishes. We ordered a total of 3 dishes including French Style Filet Mignon Cubes, Spinach with Preserved Egg and Salted Egg in Broth and Pan Fried Fish Filet with XO Sauce. The only dish my group really liked was the Spinach with Preserved Egg and Salted Egg in Broth. It was flavorful but yet not overwhelming salty. As for the Pan Fried Fish Filet with XO Sauce, the spiciness was way too dominant so I couldn't really taste anything except for the hot/spicy taste it had. On the other hand, the French Style Filet Mignon Cubes tasted alright but it was really wet. I've had French Style Filet Mignon Cubes at many other Cantonese restaurants before but it was never served this wet. It makes me wonder if these 2 dishes were prepared by a different cook/chef. I'm really happy to see more Cantonese restaurants are opening up in Irvine. Hopefully they could expand their menu to include breakfast items in future, and also adjust their recipe so the dishes will taste less Cantonese-Chinese fusion. read more

After coming here multiple times during their soft opening period, I've finally come back to visit their newly renovated space with the full menu. if you're looking for an authentic Hong Kong breakfast and meal, this is your place I'm not too sure if Irvine has multiple places like this, but it will definitely become a staple in my rotation. The breakfast menu is a solid option with choices of porridge, noodles, pineapple buns!!!!, and all the classics. The regular menu does slightly lean on the pricer side but the quality of food is solid. If you order the meat plates definitely get the crispy pork!!! It was my first time trying it and it blew my taste buds away. The hustle and bustle of this place reminds of Asia and will be back for more pineapples buns! read more

Food is okay here but be prepared to pay through the nose for it. Service is very attentive but probably because it's pretty empty. Probably because prices are crazy. The death of the Sam Woo restaurants and SW Seafood and even 101 Noodle means a hole in the Irvine Chinese restaurant options not based on the hot pot concept. The Delicious Food Corner chain comes in from SGV to fill the gap but overshoots with what they think people are willing to pay to eat that type of food. We ordered the fish maw and crab soup, which while overpriced, seemed like a good choice considering fish maw usually is a premium food item. Unfortunately the crab they used was canned and was overwhelmingly fishy. The usual correction of adding red vinegar was helpless against the seafood stink so we asked the waitress for some Chinese liquor to correct it. She brought it a tiny saucer of clear alcohol which did the trick. Very enjoyable after the addition. I enjoy eggplant in all its various forms so I will probably order any dish I see with it featured. The pork chop and eggplant dish is offered as a stir fry but we requested it braised clay pot style. Very flavorful and salty, required a bunch of rice to eat it. Otherwise, good. They feature very many dimsum dishes on the menu but the prices are double what you typically expect to pay for a tiny tapas size serving. Soy wrapped bamboo pork rolls are my favorite so I wanted to try their version. Unfortunately it was only so-so. Soggy and not filled well enough to hold its structural integrity after being cut in half with chopsticks. The rolls should have been fried before steaming to add texture and flavor but that step was either skipped or half-assed here. Food was hit or miss. Service is good. Pricing is nuts. Probably won't return. read more

Excellent like always. Went by myself for breakfast on a Sunday. Noodles took a little bit longer (but it was packed so I forgive it). Got Congee with pork and pickled veggies), Shu Mai, HK Style coffee, HK Style Earl Grey milk tea, and noodles on the side with congee. I always recommend this spot--definitively coming again. They didn't even charge me for the drinks (and got a nice tip from me). 10/10, keep up the good work guys /5 read more
Summary: Great Chinese Food Significant other brought home take out from this place. Very impressive taste for everything including the roasted duck that was actually much better than Sam Woo. Even the shumai was tasty. So if everything tasted great why four stars and not five stars? Simply put this was an expensive meal compared to a typical Chinese restaurant. Quality is definitely there and portions were decent but somehow the idea of trying a lot of different dishes is a little more difficult when they cost $$ each. But I am finally happy that I can get some of the food and flavors I grew up with as kid nearby. read more
Came here for dinner on a Friday night and the wait was like 10 minutes. Wanted to try this place becuz I used to love going to the original location in Monterey Park for Sunday brunch. I love their special meatball congee and pineapple bun. I was hoping this location would have a similar menu but was disappointed to see the small selection didn't include my favorite items. Nevertheless I wanted to stop by and try it. We ordered the following: Roast duck and bbq pork platter Lobster yi mein Curry beef stew Minced pork & egg with rice Fried squid with spicy salt Our server recommended the lobster yi mein which is why we ordered it. So we got all the other four items first. The curry beef stew was surprisingly flavorful and the beef was tender. My little girl loved the curry on rice and she is not a rice person. Roast duck was good but not amazing. On a side note, I can't believe it cost $38.50 for a whole duck. The bbq pork was tasty. The fried squid with spicy salt was not good. The batter was so thick & wasn't seasoned well. It was bland also. I peeled most of the battered off to eat the squid. The minced pork & egg with rice is a must get item. It's a popular dish at Delicious Food Corner and always yummy at every location I have been to. So we were quite full and one of the server gave us the check. We still haven't gotten the lobster yi mein so I asked another server if we can cancel it. She said she will check. She took the bill back and went to the kitchen. She didn't say anything to us when she came out. The manager brought out the lobster noodles and apologized that it took so long. We didn't want to fight about it since they are a relatively new restaurant. I was disappointed with the noodles. It was extremely bland. We asked for the check and the server brought us the bill. Beef Stew Wonton & Chow Mein!!! After friend mentioned this place so we just stopped by to grab a quick dinner. We got seated immediately and ordered very fast. I loooooveeee the egg noodles in the wonton soup. The flavor of the soup was also very good. It was very tasty!! I adore Hong Kong style cafes and I was really excited to hear a new one would be opening in Irvine. I came with a friend for a casual dinner on a Thursday night. We ordered the crab and fish maw soup and a beef chow fun. The food was fine, if a little bit expensive. But the service was slow and unwelcoming even though there weren't many people in the restaurant. It wasn't anything amazing and I would rather take my money elsewhere for a better experience. read more

Delicious Food Corner might be shorthand for authentic Cantonese cuisine. Ever since Sam Woo closed (due to unforeseen circumstances which we will not discuss here), there has been a deep void in the community. DFC is not on the scale nor does it possess the same warmth and nostalgia that SW did. However, this location serves up some damn good food. We ordered the Soy Sauce Fish Filet, Chinese Style Filet Mignon, Seafood Chow Mein, and the Seafood Tofu Soup. Everything was fresh and so delicious. The fish filets tasted and felt like they had been hand fileted. They ended up stealing the show. It was so light and flavorful. The beef was tender, prepared perfectly and satisfying. Our chow mein was amazing with a great balance of crispy and drenched noodles plus great seafood and fresh veggies. The soup was really good too. I was surprised but it was excellent. I'm not exaggerating, the RICE was even amazing. I could tell right away, there was something in the way it rested, the way it formed up against the harsh lighting. Brilliant. I find it interesting that DFC is in a "soft opening". They have committed to the "soft opening" so hard they have it laminated on their menus (which is limited for the time being). When I asked a server about it they had no ideas. We'll see what happens! I'm hoping they stick around, because while VERY pricey, it was fantastic food. Food here is overall quite good! Only downside is the menu felt small when compared to other Chinese restaurants like Tasty Garden, Tasty Noodle House, and Tang Du. I ordered their beef chow fun, eggplant and porkchop, braised tofu, and Hong Kong milk tea. The eggplant and porkchop was my favorite dish. The eggplant was super soft and the pork chops were slightly crispy. The sweet garlic sauce poured over it would've been great with rice. I also enjoyed the braised tofu which was super flavorful and soft. read more
I'm giving them a "Good" 4 Stars for now even though it's only a soft opening due to my previous positive experiences with their other locations. DFC is one of my favorite Hong Kong cafés from the 626 (Monterey Park, San Gabriel and Diamond Bar?), their Spicy Mince Pork and Egg on Rice is a must try, they have it not spicy as well if you are one of THOSE type of people =P Beef Chow Fun/乾炒牛河, the HK staple is $13.95 in their Monterey Park and San Gabriel location recently, it's $15.95 here in Irvine. I guess it's due to higher rent/lease plus inflation? Everything on the menu is pretty expensive here. At this time there's really only Tasty Garden on Culver X Irvine Center Drive and this new location for HK café food which is something I grew up eating and loving in Hong Kong in the 80's. I can't wait 'til they have a full menu so I can get some more dishes, it does suck that our family bill is going to be roughly $20-$30 more at this location though. Oh and no refill on drinks... best to just get water at this point ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I wish they would change up the god awful décor of this place though, it doesn't really match the cuisine. I feel like the food is just mediocre compared to Alhambra Cantonese cafe food. Service is there but you'll have to ask around multiple times cos they're short staffed. And if you happened to sit in the middle tables with that sunroof and high ceiling you'll capture all the noises around you because of the echo. It's just too loud at that table location. read more

I am glad that they reopened again with all the changes including the menu items and pricing. I stopped coming here before they are closed for renovations due to the extremely expensive menu plus no refills on their drinks. Learned about the new menu items with more Hong Kong Style dishes. They offer breakfast at this location as well and that's why we decided to give it a try again. Service is good (not too sure about the managers there though cos they only chat with certain groups of customer) Food is better too and they have adjusted their price. Yes refills now.. YAY! If you're looking for some delicious and fulfilling food in Irvine this is one of those places! This was my first time in this part of town and from the outside you can already smell and taste the food before you even walk through the doors. Parking was aplenty and the location was such a prime spot. The interior was beautifully decorated and there was really big neon signs that made you feel like you were back in Hong Kong. I've always loved Hong Kong style Chinese food so coming here was a no brainer. We came on a Wednesday night and it was pretty packed, but we were able to be seated almost immediately which was really nice. Service was very attentive and the food was great! We ordered a couple items: the Hong Kong BBQ combo, salt and pepper pork chops, and a grilled chicken & noodle dish! The BBQ combo was superb. I really loved the taste of the roasted duck. The skin was crispy and juicy. The roasted pork out of the three was the best. It was super flavorful and I wished I had bought another round. The fried pork had a great mix of fat and meat. The skin was very crispy and not hard so it made it super enjoyable to savor and eat. Almost always, I always get the salt and pepper pork chops. It's one of my favorite Chinese dishes. The pork chop was very flavorful and the meat was super juicy. The seasoning on top made the dish pop. I've had grilled chicken and noodles at other Hong Kong style restaurants and this one has one of the juiciest and moist chicken I've had. The lemon pepper flavor really makes the chicken super delicious. The sauce for the noodles is kind of like a spicy tangy sauce. So unless you're not a spicy type of person I would try getting different sauce if you can. Overall experience was great and I would definitely come back again if I were to come back to Irvine for some delicious Hong Kong Style food! read more
Have been here a few times now since it reopened. The first opening was too expensive, with a limited menu for a HK cafe. Since reopening tho, they have expanded their menu pretty close to what their LA stores offer. Prices are still a little inflated for OC, but the overall quality and service is great. There aren't many options for HK style Chinese food in Irvine anymore, so this has become our default. If you don't know what to order, get the roasted pork, it has always been excellent everytime we ordered it. Ordered and took a pic of the Macau Pork Sandwich because I knew nobody on Yelp would ever. Pork and baguette were good... But mixing cheddar cheese and tarter sauce just didn't sit well with me on a fried pork chop. Fries come unseasoned, so be prepared to add salt or ketchup with white pepper. read more
