The vegetables in the fried rice were cooked to perfection- not too done or left too uncooked. The wings were served hot and dipping sauces were very flavorful. How do you really differentiate your typical Thai restaurant experience? Location? Service? Food? Ah yes....the answer is #3....it is all about the food. Tasty Thai is easy to get to, lots of parking and the service is attentive. More important, they have a pretty broad menu. So broad, that we ordered pot stickers and fried taro root appetizers while we finished looking over the menu. The pot stickers were nice, filled with ground chicken and vegetables, fried and served with a sweet brown sauce. The fried taro root did not pass muster. These were sweeter than we liked and seemed to have spent a minute too long in the fryer. Eatable, but not enjoyable. We actually got a look of dismay from our server for leaving most of them on the serving plate. Sorry, you eat 'em. Entrees were very good. We tried the Pad Prik - stir-fried beef with onion, green hot pepper and bamboo shoot in a spicy sauce. We also ordered up the Pla Muek Pad Phet - calamari stir-fried with crushed garlic, chili peppers, onions, and spicy basil leaves. Both were served with steamed rice and did the trick. Been here several times and always had a good experience. Food is great - I really like the combination fried rice, general's chicken, and the honey beef. Be careful when they ask how hot you want an item. My wife and I shared a dish and I asked for hot and my wife's face got as red as her shirt because it was so hot to her (I was fine). My only complaint is that service can be a little slow sometime (ordering and getting your drink, getting a refill, and getting the check paid) - but nothing serious. read more

I had the spring rolls, cucumber salad, and pad kee Mao with shrimp. The spring rolls were fresh and came with a delicious peanut sauce. The cucumber salad was sweet and refreshing and 3 bucks. Finally the pad kee Mao has these delicious flat noodles and a savory brown sauce. The bits of Thai basil were a nice accent. Service was quick and attentive. A great place overall! read more

First and foremost, service was top notch. Very friendly and attentive. That alone will get me to make another visit. It's in a small space, but they have it set up and decorated well, so it works. I'll probably get some other selections on the menu though. Nothing was bad, and some parts were great, but overall, they were just okay to my personal taste. I started with the beef tom kar. The broth was really good and spicy just the way I like it. The beef was cooked well and tender. What threw me was all the large raw pieces of red and green bell pepper in it. I don't dislike bell pepper, but with them being tossed into the soup raw and so big was a bit off putting to me. I also had an order of the Thai beef jerky. It was prepared perfect but a bit bland. I added a pinch of salt and that brought out the flavor more. I would get it again. Last was the chicken larb. The chicken was cooked well and had a decent flavor. The dish is designated on the menu as being spicy, but this wasn't at all. Maybe that was just a miss this time. It did come with way too much lettuce and onion in my opinion, but that might be someone else's liking. The next time I'm in Liberty, I would definitely come back and try some of their other menu items. There were plenty that caught my eye. read more

Tasty Thai is seriously mouth watering!!! Their Panang Chicken is to die for!! We eat at Tasty Thai frequently and always get delicious food. We love their Gra Praw Nua, Rama Chicken, and the Panang Chicken. They have some pretty fantastic appetizers, but specifically the Poo Thong and their Thai Beef Jerky. Holy cow, amazing!! HAIR BALL IN MY SOUP!!! Just moved to Liberty, MO about 3 weeks ago. I decided to try Tasty Thai. I ordered the Panang curry chicken soup. I got about 1/4 through the bowl of soup when I fished out a giant hairball. It was a combination of string, what appeared to be pubic hairs and lint, all twisted together into an ugly ball of hair and fuzz. I left quietly after informing my server of the problem. Well I ordered on line and when I showed up to get my order it had never been sent. No big deal, the waitress was appologetic and got my order in right away. It was busy and a small space but the food looked amazing. They were large portions and the menu was varied in case you have someone in your party that is not to hip on spicey dishes. Fantastic Thai food. When in the KC area this is my favorite place to grab Thai takeout, for certain. Everything is fresh, layered with wonderful flavor, and made to order. Staff is friendly if overworked. The only negative about Tasty Thai is it's very tiny so it fills up quickly, especially on weekend nights. They don't have any space to wait and you may opt for takeout due to this. But it's reasonably priced and excellent food. I've tried many special curries and soups here but my go-to is the Hawaiian fried rice with chicken or shrimp. They don't skimp on proteins which is nice. Love Tasty Thai! read more

I went to Tasty Thai a few days ago. From my experience there, the food was good, the portions were big (if you eat as much as I do, you get two meals from the one you ordered), and you are constantly tended to. When you are seated, you are given menus and waters, and the waiter is back quickly to check if you are ready to order. Food comes out in an average amount of time, around ten minutes, and the food you get is Tasty Thai Food. I ordered the Pad Ki Mao, which is full of rice noodles, bell peppers, those small corn things that exist, and is covered in a spicy sauce. When you are given the bill, most forms of payment are accepted. Accessing the building is a little difficult due to how packed parking can be -- you might have to park a few stores down depending on how busy the strip mall it's located in is. A few points of contention do exist however. Since the last time I ate there, the store did change how they price foods. Prices were raised, and they did away with the daily deals they used to have. As stated earlier, I ordered the Pad Ki Mao. This meal used to have a $9 price tag, but now costs $12, for example. Now there are only two specials they run throughout the week: $5 Fried Rice Wednesday, and Buy One Pad Thai Get Another for $1 Tuesday. Additionally, were it not for the fact that I pass by Tasty Thai on occasion, I probably would have never heard of it. They do have a Facebook page, but otherwise do not seem to advertise their business. Overall, however, I would rate the experience 4/5 stars. Food is reasonably priced for their large portions, the food is indeed Tasty Thai food, and although prices have been raised, daily specials are gone, and parking can be difficult, I believe the experience to have been worthwhile. read more

I recently moved to the Northland and was very excited to see what my options for Thai food up here. Luckily, I had a really pleasant, efficient meal at Tasty Thai today! The menu is pretty expansive, and they have lunch specials, even on the weekend! We got an appetizer of 'shrimp purse' and holy cow, it was good. I was starving and they were a perfect start for our meal. The vegetable soup they subbed out for my lunch special soup was good, and the tofu 'Pad Ki Mao' was very good. I wish the server would have asked about my spiciness preferences, because I would have enjoyed a little more heat, but the flavor was really good and the portion was perfect for lunch. My only critique is that they brought each course out too quickly. We would have liked to enjoy our appetizer, soup, and entree separately, instead of feeling rushed. On the upside here, if we had been in a hurry, we would have appreciated the speed. But we weren't, on a Sunday afternoon. :) read more
