Love Tatte. Always excellent quality food and lots of variety to pick from. The food never really disappoints but I'm sure if there was an issue they'd do what they need to to fix it. Tatte is delicious. Pricier than Nero, but worth the extra bucks for quality food and beverages. I'm not a huge coffee snob, but I can see why this place is always crowded. I've had a couple of their flavored lattes and mochas and have to say their hot coffee is super great. However, the food is where its at. Tatte was my first time trying Shakshuka and I'm so glad it was here - I stuck with the original, and it was delicious. The crusty bread only added to the experience - it was a perfect accompaniment to the shakshuka. The chicken pita is one of my favorite things I've had from Tatte - the pita is always fresh and it's packed with chicken, bread, and sauce. However, it's impossible to not mention the pastries here. The spinach and labneh pita was delicious and a perfect way to kick off my morning before I tried the shakshuka. Tatte, I will be back! read more

Obviously a great cafe spot in Boston as it is a popular chain here. If this is your first time going to Tatte, the shakshuka is always a must ( I like the lamb), the sandwiches are pretty delicious, and obviously the coffee is great. The service is efficient and standard and they will give you a # after you order. So you can sit wherever you want and they'll bring the food to you. Tatte seems to have taken Boston by storm. Quite a crowded cafe but with very modern/upscale desserts. We had the raspberry cheesecake cup and blueberry pavlova, each at $7.25. quite pricey if you ask me. However they were nicely made and tasty. Tatte Bakery is just a glorified version of Starbucks. Beautiful interior and great place to chill and do work at. However, the food is just not up to par. The halloumi sunny side egg sandwich lacked a lot of flavor, and it was quite dry. The shakshuka was non-traditional and was too oily and drenched with heavy cream (see the pic for yourself and you can see how heavy it looks). The passion fruit dessert was beyond sweet, and there was only a tiny hint of passion fruit. If I decide to go back, it'd just be coffee and without the food. read more

Given the location and just how crowded it always is, it's reasonable to expect this cafe would be kind of dirty and unpleasant. Instead it is a haven near Emerson and the Common with a bright open space, clean bathrooms, and nice staff. Food is always good because it's Tatte. I've eaten in and gotten take out and it has never been wrong. Not once out of like 25 times, which is an incredibly high reliability and earns them 5 stars (nice people, clean bathroom, reliable, allergy friendly options. That's my 5 star qualification, really). I do think during busy times you should order ahead (I use the Toast app) and you won't wait at all. But the line does move along and I've been able to find a table during dinner, too. It is NOT a place to bring your laptop and work, so don't try it kids. They have leeeeetle tables that hold a plate of food for probably this exact reason. But it does keep things moving along and means people can find a spot to sit in a busy city with some great iced coffee and very tasty dessert. There are a ton of locations around Boston so you know they're popular. The aesthetic is very cute and modern. I ordered their specialty kombucha pumpkin latte which is a seasonal latte. It sounds strange but it tasted similar to a pumpkin spice latte and it was delicious. All their pastries also looked delicious. read more

Really good food. We tried a sort of earned yogurt granola roasted peach bowl and it was exceptional. The cookie I bought was exceptional too. Cuter little place to have breakfast. They don't really have typical breakfast fair. Expect bakery related breakfast fair so croissants and yogurt but nothing like french toast or hash browns and such. The food is great though. This location is always so busy and crowded. Make sure that when you get in line, you send someone else to scout for a table. Often you will have to clear the dishes that other patrons left there if you really want a table. Everything is tasty, and I learned recently that there are seasonal drinks as well! I recently got the pastry basket, which had several of their basic pastries and comes with a coffee or tea. Nothing too special but good to share. I came on a weekday evening to satisfy my sugar craving. It was pretty crowded, so I had to wait in a long line before being served. I ordered a strawberry and a blueberry cheesecake. They were both super aesthetically pleasing, and I just love cheesecake and couldn't resist. The cake, itself, was very delicious! It was the perfect amount of sweetness without being too overwhelming. The blueberry topping went the best with the cheesecake, in my opinion! Very disappointing. I was there to order two coffees to go and was in the line for the cashiers. I asked both the barista and the cashier if this was the correct place to order drinks, and was told yes. There were two other customers who were ordering bakery items and had arrived before me. Both cashiers took them ahead - that's not a problem. Then they took two more customers who ordering pastries who arrived after me even though the cashiers saw me standing there. I turned again to the barista and the barista was giving the cashiers a look of "hey, you do see this guy standing there, right?" When the cashiers did it a third time, I left. I then tried to call to speak with someone and of course there was no way to do it. Given that there are many places within walking distance to get similar items, at least have some sense. read more

Gotta agree with all the reviews on here that this café is just beautiful!! I love the chicness of the space with its tiled floors and walls, rustic tables, and brightly lit interior that makes it so warm and inviting. I came here to catch up with a friend after work and ended up having such an enjoyable time over some warm shashuka. I found my dish to be very flavorful and filling! The consistency was creamy, the flavors well-balanced, and I loved the poached egg on top as well as the bread on the side. Overall, I think this crowd favorite is a really solid choice here! The only thing that keeps me from being head over heels about this place is their prices, which I think are a tad too expensive. I get it, the food here is of high quality yet I don't think it is worth breaking the bank account over. That being said, I don't see myself coming here every week but would definitely come here for a treat once in a while!! read more

I stopped by here to get a bit of work done. It is a cozy cafe with spacious seating and free WiFi. Downside of working here is the lack of outlets. I got a matcha latte because I was already well caffeinated. It wasn't too sweet AND it wasn't bitter, a rare find these days. They do take a while to make your beverage though. They also have a ridiculously beautiful case of pastries that gave me choice paralysis. I eventually decided upon the blueberry hazelnut muffin which was full of actual hazelnuts (not like Nutella spread or something). It was delicious and I highly recommend trying it. read more

Can we hard to snag a spot to sit so be sure to have someone in your party start scoping it out while the other orders. Coffee review only: We got the house latte and mocha latte. Both were good in size for the price and good ratio of milk foam to coffee. Personally, I thought the mocha latte was better than the house one. House latte sounds unique with honey and cardamon, but I didn't taste any honey and so it was on the bitter side which was a disappointment. Since my prior review... this has literally become my staple, I cannot say enough about how amazing Tatte is. Its expanded rapidly- and each location I have visited has been consistently delicious. The Ricotta Jam toast (probably weights 2 pounds... yum) became my absolute favorite, as well as the Caprese Sandwich add Grilled Chicken (this bread omg). The turkey BLAT, halloumi salad, and avocado toast still receive honorable mention, as well, and as a non-biscotti lover... I love theirs. Nuff said. read more

Tatte is a Boston staple. Good coffee and their fresh breakfast items are incredible. My top two are the shakshuka and the bacon egg and cheese. Recently went there with a friend and she got a baguette and unfortunately the baguette was not fresh at all, like def more than a few days old. They should do some quality checking because the bread wasn't cheap! Other pastries I have had have always been good but this was super disappointing. Picked up an order from here recently. An employee wearing a mask and gloves greeted me immediately and got my order as soon as I gave him my name. They've blocked off most of the interior. I don't know how they'd handle having multiple customers in the store at a time because the customers can only stand in a small space in the entrance. There is a large metal table right at the entrance where the employees can pass your order to you. I ordered two loaves of bread, and the bread was fresh and tasty. I kept both loaves sealed at room temperature but the next day they were both a little dry. During non-quarantine days, this location is super busy. Compared to other Tattes, I'd say this one is on the smaller side. There is a lot of seating considering how small the store is, but this also causes the seating to be pretty cramped. It's difficult to find a spot since there are always many people hanging out or doing work/studying for a long time. There are many other cafes nearby that tend to be less crowded, if you're looking for a place to work. I've always had positive experiences with the employees here. They crank out orders pretty quickly and are friendly despite being busy. read more

Every Tatte location has been consistently amazing in their quality of food and service. Since covid started, they have taken it very seriously and don't offer dining in as an option, but still makes sure everyone is socially distant when ordering for take out. I ordered their Berries Cheesecake for a friend's birthday and everyone loved the taste of it. It was very light from the fruit and the cheesecake was very smooth in texture. Other amazing things to try are the Avocado Tartine, Shakshuka, and any of their pastries! The Avacado Tartine comes with two perfectly cooked poached eggs, avocado, baby arugula, dill, and radish topped on their toasted housemade sourdough bread. The textures in each ingredient makes your mouth want to dance. The Shakshuka is out of this world and packed with so much savory flavor from the tomatoes, bell peppers, and eggs! Served with a side of housemade challah bread and it's the perfect combination. And last but not least, their pastries are so pretty to look at but they also taste yummy. You can never go wrong with any selection. Definitely worth the hype! This use to be one of my favorite study spots or places to enjoy brunch with friends, so hopefully they'll have their tables back when things are safer. read more

They have a large variety of pastries and cakes. I was eyeing the fruit tart, but unfortunately the fruits looked dry. I decided to get the mixed nut bar/cake, and nutella filled cookie. I've been to several Tatte locations around Boston and have had consistently good coffee, matcha, and food. This location is always busy with a mix of people dining, working on laptops, and picking up coffee to go. The cafe is decorated beautifully and the staff has always been very kind. Tatte is a great place for those that can't eat gluten. They have a separate gluten friendly menu available and have gluten free bread so many dishes are able to be made gluten free. The gluten free bread can be crumbly on sandwiches but tastes good. I've ordered the Chickpea and Fava Plate with gluten free bread and it had tons of flavor. If you're looking for something sweet the Muesli cup is great and has a generous amount of fruit and granola.
