Place is a Scam. Ordered two lattes and their breakfast sandwich. Lattes were cold and it's been multiple times when there hot coffee are not even steaming hot. Have to drink them in a minute or less before it's cold. Even if they were hot, still would be sub par. The sandwich was $10 and should be worth $5 at most. The only decent part was the sourdough bread. This place lures you in with their fancy display case and descriptive menu. We were vacationing in MA and tried this place one morning. All I can say is I wish there were locations in California! I am sad not to have the time to try more delectable options. It was all I like about breakfast like Shakshuka varieties, tons of egg options, phenomenal homemade breads with everything! I had the spinach, corn, and egg plate that comes with some chili oil and toasted sourdough. The flavors were spot on with my only complaint being my poached egg was over-cooked so I didn't get to crack the yoke and truly mix it in the yogurt. That being said, it could use 2 eggs and one more slice of toast because there isn't enough to dip every bite. My husband got the smoked salmon, avocado and egg sandwich and raved about it. Our son got a croissant and hot chocolate and was in heaven! He prides himself on getting both items at MANY places and he said this was the best he'd had. I didn't have a bad bite but for the egg mishap. Over poached eggs are always a bummer when you want yolk to combine with other elements. The reason for the 3-star review is due to inconsiderate customers. There are people who are clearly done with their meals but would rather have new customers stand and wait 20 minutes for a table while they socialize. Delicious little chain bakery over by the park. The line moves pretty quickly even when it wraps through the store and outside, and there were so many decisions it was a little overwhelming. I quickly chose a meringue and the fruit box, and definitely wasn't disappointed in the fruitbox at all. The meringue I think was a bit big for me to eat, and I should have saved it for later, so I'd recommend eating one thing or another in one sitting. I called for a nitro cold brew and an oat milk iced mocha. They both tasted really really bad. The cold brew tasted like over-steeped sour bitter coffee. Can't decide which one was worse. At almost $7 a cup, you'd expect a decent brew. The service was okay, however this place was out of most of their iced teas and even their seasonal drinks. I don't recommend this place. read more

Love this place! Just moved to the area and already know this is going to be my go-to breakfast and brunch space. We asked for the cold Flatbread to be heated when it was brought to out table. Lady in purple pants said no. Even if we haven't touched one of them yet and didn't eat any of either yet. I would have left it alone if the lady in the purple pants was empathetic about it. We told someone else about the issue who them warmed the slice that we hadn't touched yet at all (did not warm the other which we touched and found to be cold). Does Boston have something against hot decaf coffee? It's been impossible to find everywhere I've gone. We stopped for breakfast at Bennett's but they only had hot regular coffee then ooops it wasn't working so my only option was an iced coffee and at 8 am on a cold morning, no thank you. So I walked down the block to Tatte to order my decaf and got sucked into the pastry counter. Everything looked good but my kids love donuts so I ordered one vanilla sugar and one strawberry jelly filled. I asked for a large hot decaf and GASP they didn't have any either!! What the heck? Thankfully they let me know they had decaf espresso and could make me a latte. Totally bizarre to me but whatever I needed something hot. The latte lady was a real artiste and even made one of those cute little flowers with the milk foam even though I was taking it to go. The latte was delicious and so were the donuts. They were a little cold (in my head I thought they'd be warm) but still tasty. If I were here a few more days I'd try them for breakfast too. Tatte is a Boston classic. I have been to about five different locations of Tatte in Boston/Cambridge and I would say they are all very good in terms of quality. Food Quality:9/10, Ambiance: 7.5 (nice aesthetic but always too crowded and loud), Convenience/Speed: 9/10, Service 8/10 (sometimes feels understaffed). My favorite items: Blueberry and Raspberry Cheesecake Cup, Tiramisu, Lemon-mint tart, traditional Shakshuka (so good), avocado tartine (can be hard to eat), I have had a few of their salads - all quite good. Tatte is such a cute cafe, and a fun first date kinda place. They all have a great aesthetic with these tiles and the deserts are very pretty. Get the cheesecake, GET THE CHEESECAKE. Also get the Shakshuka, comes with breads and the tomatos and eggs is healthy yet satisfying. Tatte is a feel good kinda caffe restaurant. However, I would go during a non peak hour. read more

Very cute and substantially stocked bakery/cafe. I went here for brunch yesterday with my husband as we were visiting. I got the French Toast which was so beautifully presented and delicious. Challah bread with goat cheese ricotta mouse, raspberry jam, fresh strawberries and mint! Yummo! My husband got the egg scramble with prosciutto. The meat was so tender and the eggs were perfectly scrambled. Wanted to try the pastries as well so I got a chocolate croissant and he got a blueberry muffin. Both were delicious! However, if you're looking for a place to study that requires Wi-Fi, I suggest you go somewhere else like your local cafe nero. Bummer on a Thursday morning. All the dishes that I wanted to order ran out. I ordered pretty much my third choice meal for breakfast. I felt defeated as they ran out of croissants to make the croque madame and the croissant breakfast sandwich. So it was kinda sad that once I got the breakfast sandwich (that third choice), the bread was actually rough, I felt like I made calluses in my mouth while chewing. (A buttery croissant wouldn't do that at all!, sorry still clearly bitter) The egg and cheese was perfect. The bacon was alright. The thing that I truly loved was the mixed nut box. The caramel sauce at the bottom of the box was a very nice surprise! However, I don't think the mixed nut box could be the saving grace in giving this place a 4 Star rating for this visit alone. Because, I basically didn't get to eat anything that I truly wanted. I need to come back at an earlier time and beat the work day breakfast rush so nothing runs out. But to travel on vacation and this being my first stop for food... you would hope that the rest of the restaurants on your trip doesn't run out of things by 9 am. The brunch menu is also really good-- I got the ham, cheese, croissant last time and I think it's the best I've ever had. Coffee is on point at tatte, they use Stumptown Coffee. Latte and drip are both very tasty! Even though I love this place, I still have a few complaints. First, it gets pretty noisy since the shop is always quite packed. I've been to Tatte before and was thrilled about the opening right near my office! The location is beautiful, lots of space and places to sit. Service was fast and considerate - the cashier was nice enough to warn me that the macchiato is the traditional small Italian kind, not the American / Starbucks kind, so I got a cappuccino. The coffee was delicious as expected. My food came hot, fresh, and delicious. I got the Mushroom Tartine, and it was very tasty, but I will say that I do much prefer the Avocado Tartine - just personal preference. I haven't actually tried their pastries, but a coworker of mine raved about the cheesecake as "the best he's ever had." I'm definitely going to have to try that out! First off, this place is adorable. When you walk in you are greeted with the amazing scents of freshly baked good and then you see the entire counter full of all the options! I got there for 8am and there was more than enough seating available. There was an extensive menu filled with breakfast, brunch and lunch items. Since it was early I went with the Avacado Tartine (and because I am a millennial that obviously doesn't want to buy a house) - this was absolutely wonderful. The sourdough bread was thick cut and nicely toasted. The only thing I would change is my preference would be to have less arugula and more avocado. This also came with two perfectly poached eggs - which brought this dish to the next level. I also ordered a large almond milk latte - this was delicious and very strong. It has got me through my day without crashing and needing more coffee. Since it is right by my hotel, I will definitely be stopping by again. read more

I'm torn between giving this place a 4 or 5 stars. I was most excited about its Shakshuka but I ended up falling in love with its avocado & sweet potato tartine. Spring Shakshuka - it tasted like a creamy soup with tons of leek, asparagus, etc. and two poached eggs. It came with four slices of toasts - extremely filing if you were to eat the whole "plate". It was perfect for a warm-ish but gloomy day! I might have hyped myself too much for this dish so I was slightly disappointed. Maybe I should've gotten a traditional or lamb meatball ones as my first Shakshuka experience. Avocado & Sweet Potato Tartine - it was phenomenal! My mother wanted something with bacon so i asked them to add bacon to this dish. The mint leaves and radish were perfect touch to the sweet potato "patties" and the mashed avocado. Eating this tartine was quite an experience... the flavor transformed once I have broken the yolk... vs my mom popped one whole poached egg in her mouth . First time at Tatte and I'm already hooked! I ordered an ice latte, which was amazing. Made from Stumptown coffee beans, the latte tasted rich and creamy. I added a few drops of honey, which enhanced the latte's sweetness. I love that Tatte also serves brunch food and small pastries.
