Adorable tavern with a fireplace-don't miss it. We're only in the area for 2 days and we'll be back. I couldn't decide between the chicken rice soup and beef stew and got both. Both were great! The star of the evening was the amazing chicken tenders with the honey mustard sauce. They were DF and GF and SO juicy and flavorful! Service was the best I've experienced in ages. Our waitress made recommendations for local spots for us to visit...including a place to snowshoe in Maine! Another couple from Massachusetts came in an hour before closing time (kitchen was closed) and joined us at our table at the fireplace. Even though we'd paid, we hung out another half hour because they were so much fun. Ironically, they were coming from the restaurant at our hotel! We checked the vibe there, but far preferred the friendly intimacy and twinkling lights at Tavern 27. I think you will too! Don't miss the Earl Grey vodka--with honey notes. Best vodka I've had in my life. Went back the second night-had a modified version of the pistachio martini with vegan cream that was the best drink I've had since being dairy free. LOVE the owner for suggesting it. Bought a sweatshirt there for the memories. Definitely try the popcorn shrimp and Jou Jou sauce. Bliss!!

Food and service was amazing! An absolute must stop for those with celiac or gluten sensitivity. The gluten free mac and cheese is the best I've ever had, even pre-celiac. They offered to make my son's gluten free chicken tenders with or without spice which was so appreciated. They even gave us a separate little side of fries for him without the parm/cheese in case he didn't like it. So thoughtful and above and beyond! We bought a cooler and ice afterward so we could take our leftovers with us since we weren't heading back to our hotel for a couple hours.

Yelp told us #1 Bloody Mary. Did not disappoint. The hard seltzer flight was super fun and delicious as well.

A true hidden gem!!! The food was so good and the atmosphere was perfect. We had a Powerhouse Salad with Chicken and the seasonal veggies which were brussel sprouts. The veggies were very obviously fresh cut and not a standard delivery type of veggie. They have great vegan and pescatarian options as well! The drinks were plenty strong and the friendly staff kept them coming. Finally, the desert.... it was worth coming back for alone!! I live an hour and a half away but would be happy to randomly drive up this way just to eat here again.

Big thanks to the staff at Trolley 27. For those who don't know, the Trolley directly behind Tavern 27 is open during the pandemic. They are fully gluten free and can cater to dairy free as well. They went above and beyond to feed our gluten free family of 4. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is inviting. Keep up the good work! -Frankenstein and the crew

Unique flavors, plenty of variety and a cozy environment. Service is slower, so be prepared, but the food is reasonably priced and tasty.

It's nice that they can accommodate parties of 2 so easily. There were several large groups, primarily families so it's certainly kid-friendly. They serve up some of the BEST fries! We called in advance to make sure we wouldn't be too under dressed and was assured that jeans and tasteful T-shirts would be fine. We started off with an appetizer of fried mozzarella along with the Alfredo sauce for dipping with the bread. This was some of the best Alfredo that we have had. You could also tell that the fried mozzarella was not frozen and made in house. The wife got their lasagna and I ordered the Northender (chicken parm, Italian sausage, and housemade meatball). The entire meal was excellent and the waitstaff was attentive. We most certainly would return for another meal if within the area.

You should either offer take out all the time, or dont' offer it period. Just because it's busy you decide to not offer take out? Why not say it's going to be an hour or hour and a half? Picking and choosing, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Not everyone has the ability (able bodied people vs disables people) to go out for dinner. Telling someone to call back in an hour and maybe we will be doing take out, is fucking diabolical. It's just not that easy for some people to go "out" for dinner, I think it's taken for granted by restaurant owners today. I was hoping with door dash, uber eats etc. that it would get more competetive when it came to this, and places wouldn't do this in 2026, but here we are. Pick one Fratello's seriously. Dont be like the rest of the country today and flip flop on issues when you can and cant do things. Just be consistent. Since the owner replied almost immediately ill follow up on his reply to mine, at no point did he address the fact that not everyone has the ability to leave the house and ordering take out is the only option for some people. So his "sassy" remark as my guest pointed out didn't go unnoticed, also its so busy at your establishment that your replying to Yelp reviews during the dinner rush? Yeah I call bullshit, but you do you buddy.

They provided the cupcakes for our wedding and subsequent anniversaries and celebrations. Every cupcake has been delicious, the staff is always friendly, and the store is always clean and neat. The flavors we love the most are cookie dough, anything with peanut butter frosting, and red velvet. Their menu has expanded and the brownies and cookies are really good too. Also, it's worth noting that on our first trip in (April 2013) when my husband was in his uniform and the owner came out and thanked him for his service and offered us free cupcake cards. It was a really nice personal touch and made us happy to be supporting a local business, on top of their delicious products.
