Wow wow wow! I had reservations for dinner we were seated immediately. They were pretty busy so I suggest reservations. The ambiance is nice and dim. Danielle was our server and she was absolutely AMAZING. I had the pear mocktail which was really good. Started with bread which came out warm and was good. To start I had the chili prawns. Honestly I couldve had that as my main it was soooo good and the prawns were huge. I also tried the chicken spring rolls they were okay. For entree I had the salmon it was okay but the mash and creamed spinach where amazing. I dont eat short rib but when I tell you this short rib was cooked to perfection literally melts in your mouth. Danielle brought out a blueberry cheesecake to celebrate which was nice and it was really good. Overall I would come back to try more they have so much to over and thw customer service was amazing.

Hubby and I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were able to make a reservation the day before after having to pivot from our original plans. We were seated in a booth, and our server was incredibly sweet and friendly right from the start. I think the host may have misread the reservation notes because we were initially given "Happy Birthday" menus. We mentioned it to our server, and she quickly brought us new menus that said "Happy Anniversary." A small detail, but very much appreciated. We started with the calamari, which was delicious. Our steaks had great flavor, and for sides we ordered the loaded mashed potatoes and the loaded mac and cheese. In hindsight, getting two "loaded" sides was probably too much. The mashed potatoes were good, but I think I would've preferred a simple baked potato. The loaded mac and cheese, however, was incredible and something I'd absolutely order again. At the end of dinner, we were brought a complimentary Happy Anniversary dessert, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. The only downside was that the bar was directly behind our booth. There was a game on, and it got pretty loud with cheering, which made it feel a bit more like a sports bar at times. Aside from that, the ambiance was nice and the restaurant felt classy and well-suited for a special celebration.

Went here for my sisters birthday. They made it so special by customizing the menu to say happy birthday to her and bringing out a little happy birthday treat. Food was good, service was great- attentive and knowledgeable. The Resturant was like every classic steakhouse with lots of wood and dim lighting- total vibe! Definitely check it out.

My husband and I had heard good things about Forbes and it's been around for so long that we finally sent the kids off with the parents and had a much needed date night. The ambience is fancy but it seems a little too dark, unnecessarily dark. The service is fantastic as expected for the price point. We both got drinks and they were good. The calamari was good, not the best I've had but definitely solid. Here's where the loss of stars comes in. We both ordered dry aged New York steak and I didn't realize until the next day when we tried the leftovers that only my husbands had been dry aged. The taste was so different and his was so much better. I felt completely robbed by this mistake. It didn't help that the dry aged is also more expensive and I got the wet aged cheaper one but still paid for the dry aged. At this price point, mistakes of this magnitude do not seem acceptable. Even though the food was good, this left such a bad impression on me that I feel I never want to go back. Getting a date night isn't easy for us so I am severely disappointed. I sent an email to the Forbes contact email (not asking for a refund or anything) just to notify them of the mistake and disappointment and never heard anything back.

For starters we went with the garlic Parmesan seasoned Fried Calamari. This appetizer was AMAZING! Me and my wife then split a cowboy cut 20oz bone in ribeye and the shrimp scampi. The shrimp were massive! The steak was delicious and so tasty. They split the dishes for us which was so kind. But let me tell you the star of the show! The butter cake was nice and warm and moist with the gelato vanilla ice cream on top! WOW! A few complaints were that the restaurant was distractingly loud. Also, the parking was very bad. All in all the food more than made up for the parking and noise level. We will be coming back.

Came here Thursday night to celebrate our 4th year anniversary. We have been to Forbes a few times but were greeted warmly by our waitress Yaren. Yaren was so attentive throughout our evening and patient with taking our orders. She asked us if we came for a special occasion and Yaren surprised us with a Happy Anniversary dessert just as we were about to order one. Yaren later disclosed it was her first night as a waitress here and we were her first table. We would have never known ! She did not seem nervous and was so sweet. Thank you Forbes and Yaren for a delightful night!

This interview is long overdue. I was here recently on 2 occasions, Mother's Day and a Retirement Celebration for my dad. Both times we were lucky enough to have Danielle as our server. I have to say that I personally loved the service. We had such a good time that moving forward we will be asking to be seated in Danielle's section as she gives excellent service and is genuinely happy! We were seated a bit early at 4 PM and it was nice and quiet both times. The food was amazing from beginning to end. My dad is someone who likes to salt everything and during both visits to FM he didn't salt anything and said that it was very seasoned and flavorful, as is. Usually my dad complains about everything. But on these 2 occasions, he did not. Lol. Both experiences were 5 stars, easy. Thank you, Danielle, for giving us such a grand experience! We look forward to seeing you again next time!

Back again for another great dinner. This time for oysters, salads and filet mignons. Thank you for attentive service and perfectly cooks steaks. Oh and for peppercorn sauce!

Highly recommend this spot! I took my fiancee here to celebrate his promotion and it was the perfect ambiance. We celebrated on a Thursday night, and tables were full. Luckily we did have a reservation so we didn't have to wait to be seated. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Mac and Cheese- Loaded : Let me just say... this is probably one of the best Mac & Cheeses' i've ever had. The hot links gives it a kick so if you can't handle spice, i don't recommend. The Mac and Cheese was so creamy and flavorful, i highly recommend trying ! Calamari was delicious as well. Fried and seasoned well. Calamari is usually our go to appetizer so i don't think it was the best i've ever had, but it was still very good. It came with the traditional sauces: tartar and marinara. Both sauces were good. Brussel Sprouts: You can't tell in the photo but the brussel sprouts are pretty big in size. I prefer mine more bite size, but they were seasoned well. It had a nice sweetness and a bit charred. But not too carred where it tastes burnt. For my entree, i ordered the Prime Blackened Ribeye- Medium. It was cooked just the way i liked it and the crispy onions on top were to die for. It came with a side of mashed potatoes but they were pretty plain. It was creamy and smooth but lacked flavor. Despite this, the steak had great seasoning and flavor and complimented well with the mashed potatoes. As for the cocktails, all of them were pretty strong. I didn't love any of them, but they weren't terrible either.

Everything from our server, Amy, to the drinks, appetizers snd main entrée was delicious. The setting, the lighting and the vibe was relaxing.

Always great food, good drinks, and excellent service! I went here with the family for my sons 16th birthday is was expectional. Always ask for the bread! It's soo good! We had some great apps i recommend the Calamari although I didn't get a picture. Don't skip the Filet, just get it. It never fails and is always perfect! The jambalaya was good if you enjoy fish. I ordered shirt ribs but they were out!! Early dinners get first dibs! We will be back. They made my son feel so special with personalized menus and a nice big table in the back dinning area. The ambiance in the main sitting area is a best and request in a booth is ideal!

We celebrated our 4-year anniversary at Forbes Mill last night and had a positive experience. While it's a traditional steakhouse, it still felt modern and upscale. The restaurant is conveniently located right next to Piatti's with a sizeable plaza parking lot. We were seated in a booth that fits 2 and enjoyed an appetizer, a steak with 2 sides, and finished with 2 desserts. Prices are as expected for this type of establishment and service was appropriate as well. We asked for our steak to be served medium and it came out almost rare and pretty cold. It promptly came back perfectly medium and hot off the grill. This was not the best steak I've ever had, but it was good- especially for a local establishment. If you're looking for a traditional steakhouse dinner for a special occasion, Forbes Mill would be a reliable option. - fried calamari: super light and tasty. Would get this again. - cowboy bone in ribeye: tender, but I wish it was a thicker steak with a crispier and more salty crust. - fries: just okay. Cold and bland. I would pass on these next time. - loaded mac and cheese: so unique. I've never seen anything like this on the menu before. It was loaded with hot links, jalapeños, and bacon- we wiped it clean. - chocolate torte: this was fine and very sweet of them to offer for our anniversary celebration. - butter cake: very, very good. I'd definitely get this again. Super moist butter cake with a memorably delicious vanilla gelato on top.

Hi! would love to have a special birthday celebration for my son at your location, but he is very particular about his dessert which I plan to make for him this year (a very special cheesecake). Would it be possible to bring our own dessert?

Currently offering any grass-fed meat options as before?

We have a 7oz Grass Fed Filet mignon served with cognac peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes.

Will the bar be playing the UFC fight 298?

    It will not.

How loud is this restaurant? Looking for a place to celebrate a birthday dinner with my parents who are 80 and hard of hearing.

Hi Meredith, depending on certain days especially Friday and Saturday our restaurant can be very lively and active. We have a few options such as booth seating (if available) , private banquet space, or even an earlier reservation time when there… Read more

    Is there a dress code?

This is the most casual steakhouse I've been too. We dressed up when we went, but there were also people there in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.

    What is their corkage fee?

$30 per bottle. 2 750ml bottle limit per table.

Is prime rib served on a certain day or anyday...which day?

Prime rib is served Sundays only. Note on reservation to hold you a cut as they quickly run out!

It's like high end middle of the mall food that's way overpriced. For the steak I got (New York) I get it exactly how I want from my local butcher, organic, grass fed, and can guarantee it will be cooked right, but hey that's what eating out is all about nowdays right? The sides were all mids, hard to mess up Brussels sprouts so those were as expected, the twice baked potato has waterey, and the fires were on the line of couldnt tell if they were frozen, or just some midsy potatoes. When I eat out I expect the whole experience. 3 people at $600 I expect a 4 everytime. The only thing worth it was the service. Didn't get her name but the young lady who served us was very attentive and got us everything we asked for, and was so sweet when my wife couldn't decide to on her desert to comp us the one she was battling over. All the deserts were dry and mids. The almond cake needed to be eaten with gulps of water and the cheese cake was just weird. Finally I'll bring up my son's meal. He's 3. He's only been to 2 places where he didn't eat the fries and burger. This was the 2nd. All in all I'd go again if someone invited me and I didn't have to pay. That's all this place is worth. Pretty sad because steak houses are pretty easy. We've been to hundreds of them around the world and it's sad to see someone mess it up as bad as this place did.

Despite going on Valentine's Day when it was extremely busy, our waiter and the kitchen did a fantastic job. He brought tap. When I followed up, he arrived with a single small Aqua Panna -- tap glasses still on the table. When I pointed out one bottle wasn't enough for our party, he dropped two more without pouring any of them. We now had twelve glasses of water crowding the table and not one filled -- except for the tap. That pattern held all night. Empty wine glasses, cocktail glasses, dirty plates -- nothing was ever proactively cleared. Everything required asking. Repeatedly. He also cleared across guests rather than walking around the table. Basic. But the most serious issue: at the start of dinner, he asked about allergies. One guest clearly stated a walnut and pecan allergy. He then brought out a dessert containing pecans. As my husband and I are both movie nerds, it was only fitting to make a reservation at the restaurant featured in the movie. Don't judge us, ha ha. The restaurant is described as a restaurant with Asian influence, and the interior reflects this. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and dimly lit, perfect for a date night. It has definitely been revamped since "Mrs. Doubtfire," but the date night aesthetic seen in the movie still remains. For drinks, I ordered the peach Bellini and my husband ordered the old fashioned. The peach Bellini was warm and sweet in a good way. My husband said his old fashioned "tasted off." For the appetizer, we ordered the charcuterie board. This is the best charcuterie we have had! The bread was toasted nicely. The brie, gouda, and manchego cheeses, as cheeses typically are ha ha, were very addicting. The apricot jam and truffle honey added nice flavors to the bread. The coppa and prosciutto meats were tender and not too salty. For our entrees, I ordered the Bridges burger medium well. It comes with herb aioli, LTO, and melted Havarti cheese, all between a toasted brioche bun. This is one of the best and juiciest burgers I've ever had! It was cooked to perfection, the cheese perfectly melted, and the bun both crispy and fluffy. The herb aioli was not overpowering and added just the right amount of "herbiness." My husband ordered the grilled pork chop, which comes with an apple chutney, applewood smoked bacon, collard greens, parmesan cheese grits, and a red wine demi glace. I tried his entree. As someone who doesn't really care for pork chops in general, I loved this one. It was very tender and juicy and the apply chutney was a delicious accompaniment. The cheese grits were well-cooked and seasoned, which pleased this Southern girl's heart. The red wine sauce was thick and a nice touch to the pork. For dessert, we ordered the molten chocolate cake. Unfortunately, there was no "lava" in the center, but the cake itself was very gooey and rich and the vanilla gelato offered by our waitress added an extra layer of creaminess and decadence! Our waitress was super nice and kept smiling the entire time, adding to this incredible dining experience. The other wait staff that assisted us were no different. Moving on from the past and a major overall would do wonders for the place and I have no doubt draw in a younger crowd to provide the customer base they need for the next 33 years.

What a vibe!! Staff are so friendly and even though we were seated late (had a reservation too),…read morethey remained attentive and kept us updated all throughout. Our waiter, Zachary, was amazing and always looked to keep our spirits up with jokes or recommendations, etc. Since we were also celebrating a birthday, they offered complimentary chocolates & a framed picture that they took for us -- great keepsake! The food itself tasted amazing, seafood was fresh. Also loved the sauce with the crab cakes -- no notes there. My only suggestion would be for the restaurant to look more into presentation of the food. Since we were only a party of 2, we just didn't need a full size of the seafood tower or poke. The way they came out just made the dish look a little lacking, like too much ice and not enough food; I think a smaller plate/bowl can easily do the trick. As for the ribeyes, they were cooked to perfection. I love a good medium rare steak! Again, my only note is with presentation- both steaks that we got just came out looking very brown. The steak was brown, then we added caramelized onions & mushrooms which only added more brown to the plate. There were a few pea sprouts (?) that added some green but I think literally anything else to the plate would help elevate it so much more and bring more color to the plate when eating.

I am vegetarian and have eaten at many vegetarian restaurants over the years. I would confidently say that Blossom and Root is the best vegetarian restaurant in the Bay Area and it may be my favorite restaurant hands down. Food: Key to a great restaurant is consistency. The food and dishes are consistently great at Blossom and Root over many visits. I have tried the Smash burger, yellow curry, Mediterranean bowl, french toast, pancakes, chilaquiles, breakfast burrito and several other dishes. Yellow curry is my hands down favorite but honestly no dish has ever disappointed. Every dish is always very freshly prepared. You can tell. They have a kids menu as well. Kids will also love the "experience" of the Butterfly bubbles drink! Just try it! Ambiance: Cute restaurant with a modern craftsmen kitchen feel. It feels like you are eating at the home of a friend with a nice house. Casual vibe that is kid friendly. Service: Servers and staff are always very friendly and helpful. Sometimes it can get slow for attention when they get busy.

It was about 1/4 cup quinoa and millet and more tangerine oranges than grains. Look at the difference of portion sizes from our experience vs Yelp photos. I felt this was inadequate and asked for more grains. I got a 1/2 cup of extra quinoa (only). Tofu scramble and pancakes (adult and kid versions) were good. The server tried to insinuate that the adult pancakes weren't enough, but they were more than enough. We also ordered one orange juice for a child (paper cup with a copper straw jammed through the opening) and hot tea. Honest review, it was overpriced and moderately good. I would not return; quality and value for 3 adults and 1 child was not worth $100+ including tip. Hope they consider my feedback to improve; this place has great potential.

Just stepping in lifts your spirit and creates joy. The thoughtful decor and beautiful design immediately stand out, creating a special atmosphere, even if you are simply meeting friends for lunch on a weekday. I never expected to find such a stunning restaurant tucked into a shopping strip in the heart of San Ramon. One Hour Bistro is truly a delightfull find. The same attention to detail reflected in the decor is also evident in the quality of the ingredients and the incredible flavors of each dish. Crystal glasses in a Thai restaurant? YES! They also offer mocktails which I wish I had time to try and savor. I ordered the Kao Soi Braised Short Ribs, and it was absolutely stunning; beautifully presented, generously portioned, and deeply comforting. The rich broth, tender bone-in ribs, and flavorful noodles made every bite memorable. I couldn't even finish the entire dish because I wanted to savore it slowly. The Pad See Ew was a silky, heavenly treat. The rice noodles were succulent, the vegetables were fresh, and everything was coated in a rich, flavorful sauce. If your driving through San Ramon, this is a MUST try. If you live in the area, lucky you!
