Forbes Mill Steakhouse is nestled into a cozy shopping center with plenty of parking. Surrounded by a quiet suburban neighborhood, Forbes Mill serves many families in the area. Businesses casual attire is recommended but not required. The service is what would expect for the area: honest, earnest, and friendly. Recommendations were appropriate however I've never seen a steakhouse not offer at least one pinot noir by the glass to start a meal. Nevertheless, their "by the bottle" menu carried a good variety. Overall, these were not the highest quality of steaks but were ok for price. The experience was pleasant and the desert was lovely.

From start to finish this place is top-tier! I loved every moment. What upscale experience for a restaurant. We were greeted. We walked in with smiles, and we were seated in an excluded area where it felt very intimate. The ambience was dim so I gave it that romantic feel. We were greeted by our server, Kathy. She was all smiles and very detailed about the menu and drinks. We ordered the appetizers, which was the calamari and the prawns and the spring rolls. The drinks came up first which was nice and then our fresh platter which was nicely presented came out. What can I say? It was a burst of flavors all over this platter! Compliments to chef! After we were done eating, our amazing server came back to take our order. She was so kind and polite very detailed. She was interested in what we were celebrating and talking about it which I thought was really unique. We had told her we were there celebrating me finishing school and finishing up the year teaching. Then we went to order our main entrée which was the steak and lobster tail with the mashed potatoes. We also got an order of the asparagus and mac & cheese. When I say the food came out popping hot, it came out hot and ready. Once we were able to dig in, it was some of the best lobster main tail melted in my mouth I have ever had. The steak was cooked perfectly. It was so soft and delightful with the fluffy mashed potatoes. The mac & cheese burst it with flavors one of my favorite mac & cheese yet. I have had mini mac & cheese and this one was incredible! This area was cooked perfectly and it was soft but had a crunch still to it. My hats off for this chef! The chef here can really cook and they have a unique presentation, which is very professional and mind blowing! Then it was time for dessert which we had the blueberry cheesecake and the chocolate lava cake! They were both also yummy and had caramel drizzle, and the chocolate lava cake was oozing with chocolate. We loved every minute of this experience it was such a good way to build a core memory. Kathy was the best server yet. I would highly recommend asking for her when coming to the steakhouse for her service. Also, I would like to give five stars to the chef. This place is truly blessed with an amazing chef. He's probably definitely the backbone of this restaurant. We will definitely come back, and we want to thank Forbes for such a great experience. Thanks again!

Prime "Cowboy Cut" Bone-In Ribeye (20oz) medium well is just right!

Came back for my wife's birthday after having such a great experience a couple months ago, and this place still delivers. The ribeye was just as good as we remembered, cooked as requested and flavor was cool. The shrimp was much better this time around but the cream of spinach and spring rolls did not hit the spot for me. Service this time around felt a little more rushed than our first visit, but everyone was still friendly and everything came out correctly. The restaurant had a lively energy to it, which we enjoy for a nice dinner out. It's a bit darker inside than I expected. Overall, another good experience.

Came here to celebrate a birthday and was content with out experience. The ambiance is very dark... I almost considered taking out my phone and using the flashlight. I personally think it's a little TOO dark. While it's a nice establishment, I could hear people at the bar watching sports, so it kind of took away from the experience a bit. The service was ok, friendly and efficient. The food was good as well, nothing too memorable. Overall, I did enjoy my experience here. It's a solid steakhouse.

Came here on a random Tuesday night and the place was pretty busy. We were greeted and seated promptly on arrival. Our waiter was Eduardo and he was amazing! He was very attentive and provided great service. The bread and butter were delicious! Also, enjoyed the massive wedge salad. Highly recommend it!

Man oh man was this not the best steak I've had in a while! I've been to almost every steakhouse in San Francisco, as they are known for their steakhouses. Now that I live on this side of town, I finally tried this place after having it bookmarked for some months. The steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and buttery. It was not overcooked or undercooked. It was beyond my expectations. All the other dishes we had were also really good including our cocktails. It's a dark cozy vibe in there. And service is great. I'd definitely come back!!

The drinks and food here are INCREDIBLE! To drink, we had a variety of cocktails: Gin Martini, Smokey Diablo, Furious George, and Negroni. The martini and Negroni were classics well done, and the Furious George was unique and delicious! It does have a kick, so be warned. To eat, we had the blackened ribeye, the grass fed filet mignon with peppercorn sauce, and the ahi tuna. The steaks and tuna were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The accompaniments paired well the with proteins and were tasty. To finish our meal, we had the flourless chocolate torte and the tiramisu. Both were rich and yummy, a perfect end to the meal. The espresso martini and the Irish coffee were expertly crafted and matched well with the desserts. Really nice inside but comfortable. Perfect place for an upscale Friday night dinner! We were seated right away and our order was taken quickly too. If you're looking for a fancy restaurant for dinner with an impressive steak menu with cocktails and desserts too; check out Forbes Mill Steakhouse!

Hubby and I came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were able to make a reservation the day before after having to pivot from our original plans. We were seated in a booth, and our server was incredibly sweet and friendly right from the start. I think the host may have misread the reservation notes because we were initially given "Happy Birthday" menus. We mentioned it to our server, and she quickly brought us new menus that said "Happy Anniversary." A small detail, but very much appreciated. We started with the calamari, which was delicious. Our steaks had great flavor, and for sides we ordered the loaded mashed potatoes and the loaded mac and cheese. In hindsight, getting two "loaded" sides was probably too much. The mashed potatoes were good, but I think I would've preferred a simple baked potato. The loaded mac and cheese, however, was incredible and something I'd absolutely order again. At the end of dinner, we were brought a complimentary Happy Anniversary dessert, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. The only downside was that the bar was directly behind our booth. There was a game on, and it got pretty loud with cheering, which made it feel a bit more like a sports bar at times. Aside from that, the ambiance was nice and the restaurant felt classy and well-suited for a special celebration.

Came here Thursday night to celebrate our 4th year anniversary. We have been to Forbes a few times but were greeted warmly by our waitress Yaren. Yaren was so attentive throughout our evening and patient with taking our orders. She asked us if we came for a special occasion and Yaren surprised us with a Happy Anniversary dessert just as we were about to order one. Yaren later disclosed it was her first night as a waitress here and we were her first table. We would have never known ! She did not seem nervous and was so sweet. Thank you Forbes and Yaren for a delightful night!

Wow wow wow! I had reservations for dinner we were seated immediately. They were pretty busy so I suggest reservations. The ambiance is nice and dim. Danielle was our server and she was absolutely AMAZING. I had the pear mocktail which was really good. Started with bread which came out warm and was good. To start I had the chili prawns. Honestly I couldve had that as my main it was soooo good and the prawns were huge. I also tried the chicken spring rolls they were okay. For entree I had the salmon it was okay but the mash and creamed spinach where amazing. I dont eat short rib but when I tell you this short rib was cooked to perfection literally melts in your mouth. Danielle brought out a blueberry cheesecake to celebrate which was nice and it was really good. Overall I would come back to try more they have so much to over and thw customer service was amazing.

Went here for my sisters birthday. They made it so special by customizing the menu to say happy birthday to her and bringing out a little happy birthday treat. Food was good, service was great- attentive and knowledgeable. The Resturant was like every classic steakhouse with lots of wood and dim lighting- total vibe! Definitely check it out.

My husband and I had heard good things about Forbes and it's been around for so long that we finally sent the kids off with the parents and had a much needed date night. The ambience is fancy but it seems a little too dark, unnecessarily dark. The service is fantastic as expected for the price point. We both got drinks and they were good. The calamari was good, not the best I've had but definitely solid. Here's where the loss of stars comes in. We both ordered dry aged New York steak and I didn't realize until the next day when we tried the leftovers that only my husbands had been dry aged. The taste was so different and his was so much better. I felt completely robbed by this mistake. It didn't help that the dry aged is also more expensive and I got the wet aged cheaper one but still paid for the dry aged. At this price point, mistakes of this magnitude do not seem acceptable. Even though the food was good, this left such a bad impression on me that I feel I never want to go back. Getting a date night isn't easy for us so I am severely disappointed. I sent an email to the Forbes contact email (not asking for a refund or anything) just to notify them of the mistake and disappointment and never heard anything back.

Hi! would love to have a special birthday celebration for my son at your location, but he is very particular about his dessert which I plan to make for him this year (a very special cheesecake). Would it be possible to bring our own dessert?

Currently offering any grass-fed meat options as before?

We have a 7oz Grass Fed Filet mignon served with cognac peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes.

Will the bar be playing the UFC fight 298?

    It will not.

How loud is this restaurant? Looking for a place to celebrate a birthday dinner with my parents who are 80 and hard of hearing.

Hi Meredith, depending on certain days especially Friday and Saturday our restaurant can be very lively and active. We have a few options such as booth seating (if available) , private banquet space, or even an earlier reservation time when there…

    Is there a dress code?

This is the most casual steakhouse I've been too. We dressed up when we went, but there were also people there in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.

    What is their corkage fee?

$30 per bottle. 2 750ml bottle limit per table.

Is prime rib served on a certain day or anyday...which day?

Prime rib is served Sundays only. Note on reservation to hold you a cut as they quickly run out!

As my husband and I are both movie nerds, it was only fitting to make a reservation at the restaurant featured in the movie. Don't judge us, ha ha. The restaurant is described as a restaurant with Asian influence, and the interior reflects this. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and dimly lit, perfect for a date night. It has definitely been revamped since "Mrs. Doubtfire," but the date night aesthetic seen in the movie still remains. For drinks, I ordered the peach Bellini and my husband ordered the old fashioned. The peach Bellini was warm and sweet in a good way. My husband said his old fashioned "tasted off." For the appetizer, we ordered the charcuterie board. This is the best charcuterie we have had! The bread was toasted nicely. The brie, gouda, and manchego cheeses, as cheeses typically are ha ha, were very addicting. The apricot jam and truffle honey added nice flavors to the bread. The coppa and prosciutto meats were tender and not too salty. For our entrees, I ordered the Bridges burger medium well. It comes with herb aioli, LTO, and melted Havarti cheese, all between a toasted brioche bun. This is one of the best and juiciest burgers I've ever had! It was cooked to perfection, the cheese perfectly melted, and the bun both crispy and fluffy. The herb aioli was not overpowering and added just the right amount of "herbiness." My husband ordered the grilled pork chop, which comes with an apple chutney, applewood smoked bacon, collard greens, parmesan cheese grits, and a red wine demi glace. I tried his entree. As someone who doesn't really care for pork chops in general, I loved this one. It was very tender and juicy and the apply chutney was a delicious accompaniment. The cheese grits were well-cooked and seasoned, which pleased this Southern girl's heart. The red wine sauce was thick and a nice touch to the pork. For dessert, we ordered the molten chocolate cake. Unfortunately, there was no "lava" in the center, but the cake itself was very gooey and rich and the vanilla gelato offered by our waitress added an extra layer of creaminess and decadence! Our waitress was super nice and kept smiling the entire time, adding to this incredible dining experience. The other wait staff that assisted us were no different. The sourdough French toast was definitely my favorite it had such a good balance of sweetness, and the sourdough flavor cut through it just enough that it wasn't overly sweet or cloying. And my boyfriend, who isn't vegan, ended up finishing the French toast, which is how I KNOW it was objectively delicious The blackberry mojito was also delicious and super refreshing for brunch. I also love that they have outdoor seating, and the area around the restaurant is really cute to walk around and explore afterward. Overall, such a great brunch spot with delicious food, adorable vibes, great service, and plenty to explore nearby. I'd definitely come back to try out the their lunch options

A phenomenal brunch spot that is sure to make meat lovers fall in love with vegan food. The…read morerestaurant was very busy, but my cousin and I were able to snag a seat after a 15-minute wait. Everything sounded delicious, but we went with the recommendations made by a staff member. We decided to share the infamous smash burger, the watermelon salad, and the pistachio bread. For drinks, we both got an iced lavender latte, which was delicious. I loved how the cardamom complemented the lavender so well and it was very refreshing and not too sweet. The smash burger was the best vegan patty I have had in years. It was very flavorful and moist. The watermelon salad was delicious, especially the avocado mousse. The pistachio cream on the pistachio bread was so addicting. I wish I could have bought a bottle of it! Every single item was crafted so well with the freshest ingredients. It was nice going to a place that focused less on soy, and more on whole foods and flavor. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially for brunch.

Food was good, see pictures attached. Flavors and qualify excellent. A little more bland than my usual Vietnamese experience. I had to ask for salt which was not offered or readily available. Overall great place and I would highly recommend this place. Unfortunately I am taking away one star due to the below mentioned. They offered wine, my friend wanted another glass and they had run out. The flavors of the garlic prawns were good, however I did not know the heads of the prawns were going to be on as well as half of the shell on the body. Deep fried "great" but made it a task to take off while having a nice conversation.
