It's not like I've never had it made well before, but something about my selection just seemed a bit better than the usual good I'd get from other places. Maybe it's the quality. Each piece had a pleasant texture. The sauces and seasonings used were not over powering instead just right and very complimentary. I like the little toppings and sauce they give when you order the individuals. I was suprised to see how many customers where dining in even though it was only a Thursday evening. Well I was suprised until I tried the food. Lol. The interior is very cozy with a cool L-shapped wrap-around bar and table seating all around. They do offer outdoors eating as well. Regardless if you dine Indoors or outdoors they have floor to ceiling windows that let you enjoy the outside ambiance which is very lovely. Yes and yes. I came here to try the different types of oysters and it did not disappoint. I had the Fat Bastard, Virginica, Kumamoto, Shigoku and Pacific Petite oysters. The waitress Maggie was so kind and informative to tell me the differences between each. Each one had its own distinct taste to it, but I really loved the Kumamoto and the Pacific Petite oysters. I did not however, like the Fat Bastard. That one was not appealing to my taste at all. Maybe too strong for my pallet, but I wasn't sure. The space was very clean and spacious. So the feeling here is very laid-back industrial type concrete floors. Small limited menu. There seem to be a few more items online like crab macaroni and cheese, and stuff like that that they did not have at the restaurant. Oysters were 3 to 5 dollars apiece half a loaf of bread was five dollars which I think should come with any clams ,muscles or chowder that you order. Geoduck sashimi was quite small I thought. Caesar salad was good, I liked that it had the white anchovies on it. Service was good they've taken all the work out of figuring out a tip and just did it for me . The best shellfish properly Shucked oysters and other delicious items on the menu. Taylor Shellfish company specializes in Northwest Shellfish and they have four different locations with each one offering different menu choices and special dishes. They have been farming shellfish since 1890 and they have a great standard that they uphold. I highly recommend the oysters and also the Dungeness crab they have their own unique presentation for Dungeness crab. Pro tip don't get butter just try the "head fat" sauce it will change the way you look at crab. Also another delicacy is the Geoduck my preferred way to eat it is Sashimi style with Tamari and Wasabi. But it's also in the Chowder if you're unsure about how it will taste. In a city filled with good seafood, this is an outstanding shellfish and oyster bar. While the menu may seem limited for some, if you like bivalves and mollusks, you will be happy at TSOB. It is very informal, more of a bar vibe than a restaurant. The drinks were excellent, with a good selection of beers and well executed cocktails. We were a party of four and ordered everything to be shared by the table. Everything was delicious, from oysters to the whole crab. We also split a pesto linguine with clams and a crab risotto, both of which were delicious and filled with the finest local clams and crab respectively. I came here craving oysters and clam chowder but boy was I in for a treat for something different. First things first: I'm terrified of snails so geoduck was not what I was expecting to try for the first time but why not. So the clam chowder that I wanted was actually geoduck chowder. It wasn't bad at all. Geoduck texture is in between a tendon & clam combination. The chowder was really good and creamy which definitely hit the spot. Oysters are always great but the oysters Rockefeller was amazing. I didn't take a picture because I already inhaled it before I realized I forgot to but I highly recommend ordering that. The geoduck sashimi was different. There are 2 different pieces they serve you, one is creamy & one is more tendon-y. The sauce makes it taste better but it was pretty good. Dungeon was crab was delicious! Served with a creamy sauce that you dip in and it tasted so good. Seasoned well with a richness that reminds me of the Asian style dip. The crab is served cold which isn't my favorite but I still enjoyed it. Great spot in Seattle but they have a limited menu. Not the most filling place for seafood but some really great delicious dishes. Oysters: the standout dish. I liked the variety given in the Shucker's Dozen (2pcs of 6 different oysters). Our favorite were the Olympia which we ordered more of. Caesar salad: they put an overload of cheese and dressing (not the healthiest salad) but it tastes good. Geoduck chowder: yum! you can't really see or taste the geoduck but its a good standard chowder. Geoduck sashimi: ok. Fresh but nothing stood out to me. Good to try if you have not had it before. Clams and miso: I do not recommend this dish at all. Extremely salty, soba was soaked in the salty miso yuzu sauce. I've been to the restaurant, but not at this location. We had three different types of voice, and it was incredible. Mini Virginia is one of my new favorite ones. Because they are smaller than the normal Virginia, I needed to eat a little bit more because they are thin and delicate and so good. We tried to other things said they were delicious. This is Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar's third location in the greater Seattle area with its prime location in the still relatively new Expo Apartments on Republican Street. When dining in Seattle on a recent trip to the Emerald City, I asked a friend where the best oysters are found and they immediately responded with Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar, and why wouldn't they as for over five generations the Taylor family has grown up with a passion for oyster farming which continues today with Bill and Paul Taylor and their brother-in-law Jeff Pearson. This trio have been inspired by the Taylor brother's grandfather Justin, who instilled values of water quality and an innovation of farming techniques through their local farming areas in the South Puget Sound, Hood Canal, Samish Bay and Willapa Bay, which have consistently produced high quality shellfish. Local oysters sourced and served in the heart of Seattle? Count me in! When I got here at 3 p.m. on the weekend evening that I visited there weren't many customers inside their restaurant so I decided to sit at their bar counter area and let their server and bartender Kai be my guide to which oysters to select from. The menu at Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar, which is only accessible by QR code on your phone, is separated into categories including Oysters, Chilled Seafood, Kitchen, and Snacks. Kai told me what many of Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar's best-selling favorites were and their Pacific Petite, Kumamoto and Shigoku oysters were calling my name, and at $3.50 each they were reasonable to try to see which ones I liked the best, of which they were their Pacific Petite and Kumamoto oysters, as the former was hearty and the latter was small but sweet. Using the mignonette dipping sauce only added the overall flavor, but they could have been downed solo and be just as good. Since I was enjoying such a nice meal on ice, I asked Kai which of the two Geoduck meals, their Sashimi or Crudo meals were their favorites and their Sashimi was a winner hands down, and when served on ice straight up with soy sauce and wasabi, this was the perfect compliment to my oysters and the cocktail pairing that I ordered which was their Golden Hour cocktail, which was a combination of Caravedo Puro Torontel Pisco, lemon and lime Juice, Small Hand Foods passionfruit, agave, and topped with fee foam. It was a festive way to enjoy my first meal in Seattle. This wonderfully shucked, sliced and plated meal only inspired me to order more dishes and their Classic Steamers which gives diners the option of ordering either clams or mussels served in white wine and shallot butter broth. I asked my server which one they liked better, and they suggested that I go with a combination steamer which technically was no longer on the menu, but they were nice enough to still place my order for me and they were also nice enough to suggest that I order a baguette bread roll with butter so I could sop my bread in their broth to finish my meal. What I got was a bowl filled with an abundance of heat and flavor that was filled with a boatload of shellfish that I could barely get through but thankfully did thanks to the abundance of warm bread, which to my surprise was served complementarity. My total bill was 68 dollars before their almost 19 percent automatic service charge was added in, in addition to taxes which increased my bill to $89.13, of which I happily paid, as my experience was warm and personal as Kai treated me like a friend who comes into Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar on a weekly basis, which if I actually lived in Seattle would be the case and set a dangerous precedent. I am so glad that my friend's recommendation lived up to the hype as you could really tell the quality that the Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar team puts into harvesting their fresh oysters because in the waters of Washington state, you clearly cannot find any higher quality shellfish anywhere else! read more

You could taste how fresh it was and we ordered more at the end because of how good the Pacific ones were that day! I got the geoduck chowder and although the flavor was good I couldn't tell if there was much geoduck in it 4/5. The part that made me not enjoy my experience here was the 20% service charge. It wasn't listed anywhere on the menu or table and honestly caught us by surprise. For the oysters, as an oyster lover, I thoroughly enjoyed getting to taste all of their different oysters. My favorite were the tiny little Olympia and Kumomato (i don't remember the name too well). Happy hour oysters!! We visited Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar after a visit to the Seattle Center. It was a quick and close walk, about 10 minutes away. Their Happy Hour is from 3-5 PM, where oysters are 12 for $27 (which is quite the steal, considering at normal price it's 12 for $42!). Yelp had some great reviews for their oysters, so we had the Shucker's Dozen. They were serving their Devil's Bandit oysters that day. The oysters were incredibly plump with a salty brine, and were fresh and refreshing! Adding tabasco and lemon were a great flavor enhancement. We also tried their smoked oyster dip, which my partner LOVED. It came with salty potato chips. The mayo was a little heavy for my personal liking, but the smokiness was really there especially with the paprika they add. It was the perfect portion for two! We were a party of 2 and they already had a service charge of 18.9% which I though was odd. To add insult to injury, I discovered an 18% mandatory service charge on my bill!
