View from the bar! Amazing staff and service!

My wife and I arrived in Seattle. Once settled in our hotel, we walked to Taylor's for dinner. We get comfortable at the bar where we get introduced to Carmel our bartender and server. Little did we know that we would spend an amazing 2+ hours of not stop fun! We ordered the epic Shuckers Dozen. We had no idea how diverse oysters can be. They served the in pairs of oysters from different regions. If you order help yourself enjoy them by starting o. The outside working to the middle. What a treat! We next moved on to the Cesar Salad and the Northwest Chowder featuring the Geoduck clams. It's the absolute best Chowder we've ever had! If you don't get here whether you live in the Seattle area or just visiting, you're missing out on a true gem of a restaurant! Between the great service, food and music. We sealed in at strangers and out a family! We're going to miss this place when we return home! Thank you for the epic experience!

The service was great! The server was really knowledgeable about the product and gave excellent oyster recommendations that were spot on. Husband got the prawn roll and it was incredible as well. Managed to slip in during a layover and would make it a point to visit them again to try more of the menu. Amazing local spot. It's so quaint it's the perfect spot for a dinner date.

Have been attempting to try this spot for a while and finally made it happen! Their patio is almost never open even in summer and we have come by with our dog before to try but no dice. The food is really good though and we would definitely come back for more if their patio opened up more (we are usually walking our dog when in the area). The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and helpful in answering our questions about the food. The indoor ambiance is nice, though the tables are a little close together and I imagine it's lovely on the patio when it's nice out. It's pricey but honestly worth it if you're looking for good seafood in the area.

tl;dr - fresh seafood, not many cooked options, can be pricey for the portion I came here for a quick lunch when my parents were visiting recently. The place was completely empty at 1pm on a Tuesday so we were able to be seated immediately. The food did not disappoint with the seafood being fresh and with good flavor. Roasted Brussel Sprouts - nicely cooked with good coating of balsamic sauce. Steamed mussels in garlic butter sauce - delicious and well cooked. I personally like the sauce a little thicker and richer. Geoduck crudo - fresh with an interesting red pepper sauce. The siphon was crunchy while the body was soft and chewy Caesar Salad - nicely dressed with fresh ingredients. I really liked the flavor and texture of the anchovies. Service was friendly but I was expecting them to be a little more attentive given there were no other customers at that time. This location is right across from Seattle Center and parking is metered and on the street.

A truly lovely experience at Taylor Shellfish Farms! The fresh seafood, especially the mixed oyster set, is definitely the main attraction here. The service was polite, though maybe a bit more reserved than what we've enjoyed at their other branches. Just a small tip for other visitors: the building's parking garage for $4-$6 is quite convenient. Also, be aware of the automatic 18.9% service charge. Overall, a great place for seafood

Came for a half dozen oysters and a couple cocktails, left knowing we found our favorite neighborhood spot. Staff was warm and taught us so much, Hannah was awesome and crafted a killer special cocktail. We'll certainly be back!

Enjoyed the happy hour oysters, bread and butter and baked oysters. Convenient to stop by after visiting the space needle

Such a great meal and experience. We started with fresh oysters and then cocktail sauce. It was fantastic. Clean oysters, even my daughter was like "these are really good." We then had the steamed clams and baguette. Very flavorful and bread was crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle perfect for dipping in the clam broth. We finished with the dungeonous crab. The crab was good but the aioli made it and took it up a notch. Highly recommend. My wife had the stuff sole and was very happy. Highly recommend for a more local experience.

Came for the happy hour -- great oysters and great service! Our server was super friendly and helpful. She was knowledgeable and attentive. The oysters tasted super fresh! The geoduck sashimi had a really interesting crunchy but still soft texture. It was sweet, seafood-y, overall a really interesting and tasty meal

A nice spot near the Space Needle. It was decently busy when we came in but were seated immediately. They have a unique Geoduck Chowder which is a then velvety texture and deliciously creamy. Only downside for me was that I couldn't tell what was the Geoduck in it, the pieces are small and minced. We did the oyster sampler platter which featured 2 or 3 from each type of oyster offered. This was an awesome was to try them all and compare. Last we ordered the Geoduck sashimi. Similar to conch sashimi it has a bit of a soft crunch texture. Would recommend all items tried today!

I had dinner here with my husband. We liked their fresh oysters and we enjoyed the seafood courses they have. The service was fast, the bathroom was clean, and the receptionist and crew were all accommodating. Not in the photo but we also ordered Moqueca and that turned out to be my favorite among all the dishes we ordered. The ambiance is ideal for dinner with friends or co-workers after a long day.

Perfect spot for a rest and some oysters. The Caesar salad was a surprising standout and the bread was fresh and warm. In addition to the oysters of course. The server was very chill but super helpful.

All the good things we've heard about this place are true! I've been meaning to go here for a long time, as I am huge shellfish lover. We finally decided to go for lunch on my birthday, which is New Year's Eve. They were doing a "countdown to the new year" special where there was a special on a different item everyday. We were lucky that on NYE the special was on the Salish Sampler, $20 off the usual price. What a steal. Even without the discount I think the sampler is sooo worth it. It came with a dozen oysters (x2 of 6 different varieties), a whole Dungeness crab, 4 fat shrimp, marinated mussels, geoduck caviar, and two little spoons of caviar. We also opted to get the baguette which was HUGE and so worth it for dipping and pairing with the different sampler items. Oysters were fresh and delicious. It was so fun to try all the different ones which each had their own levels of sweetness, brine, and umami. I loved adding the hot sauce that it came with to my oysters. The crab, omg! Sooooo sweet and delicious. Like crazy sweet. The crab butter - WOW. Star of the platter honestly. I dipped everything in it, the crab itself, the shrimp, the bread, even the marinated mussels. Best bite of the day - I had my final crab leg dipped in crab butter with the caviar on top. Servers were very nice and helpful. Drinks were good. Overall just loved our experience and it felt so special for my birthday. If you like shellfish, oysters, etc, this is a MUST in Seattle.

Time without number I've found myself here, be that first dates, my birthday, or New Year's Eve, and it always feels like home. If home were a clown/carnival themed acid trip of a pinball arcade bar, that is. And what's not to love about that? The bar tenders here are cool and friendly people who pour drinks with a heavy hand, and understand the mission: get the patrons who want to be drunk, drunk. The first few times I visited, I felt a leeriness about ordering food. But once I got over myself, I kinda fell in love with the menu, and I've probably eaten everything on it (including the clam chowder). Their hot dogs are wonders to behold, utter symphonies for the senses, and I refuse to visit Shorty's without getting one. Best dog in Seattle? Why yes. I think so. To paraphrase one reviewer: "Take your date here. If she doesn't like it, she's lame and you shouldn't waste your time with her anyways." Shorty's is the bomb.

That's not something paying customers want to hear. I ended up ordering a drink for myself while the guys were looking at the menu because they were doing a food hop, and us girls were doing a bar hop. During that time, the bartender came back to our table at least four times within about five minutes. Instead of being attentive, it felt pushy and aggressive, especially since they were still deciding what they wanted. I've been here a few times before, but after this experience, this will definitely be my last visit.

There is a caveat though, which is that they only have select items in the AYCE menu. The ambiance of the place was inviting enough for us to give them a try! There is a 90 minute window for AYCE, and you can order a maximum of 3 items per person every 15 minutes. All orders have to be made from an app on your phone so make sure you have a fully charged device! When we logged in the app, it was confusing to manage at first so we worked with the server to put our orders in. She had to put in our orders for us a couple of times and then we figured out how to work the system after that. To do the math for those reading the review and maximize the number of items you can order with the 90 minute window, you can potentially order up to 18 sets of skewers per person. Each set of skewer has two sticks. My hubby and I missed a few items from our order but we were getting full after my 10th skewer and his 15th skewer so it did not matter too much! The AYCE menu also has options to order zaru soba, corn cheese, and takoyaki! Presentation is great but I wish the flavor matched the visuals. The standout skewers for us were the boruta pork and the wagyu beef tongue. I was really hoping that the yakitori would be crispier and had more of a smokey flavor but I really can't complain too much for the price point. The food is solid but not like a wow, I have to come back here again! We only saw one server for the busiest part of the night, serving 8 tables all at once. She made sure that our glasses were never empty and she treated us warmly. Wile the decor and the general atmosphere are pleasant, the quality of the food would not merit another visit for me.

Andrew (our server) introduced us to his sidekick, who was in training. Love that personal, hands on approach for a mew team member, and Sidekick did a great job in monitoring our table and replenishing water. Have to stop here and express my appreciation for Andrew and how he took the time to explain the philosophy and genuine team vibe of the restaurant. Oftentimes when a restaurant adds a flat 20% gratuity, you get the feeling this is not passed on to the servers. Not so here. He explained that it's shared among the servers, bar, and other staff, with only a bit retained by management, but even that finds its way into their wages. Terrific work environment and happy to see it. It definitely shows in the level of service. But we're here to eat. Didn't take a picture, but one of my dining companions ordered the burrito with red chili sauce and it was very good. Just the right amount of heat in the sauce. The Cantina celebrates Taco Tuesday, so I took advantage of this. You get the opportunity to try 5 different street tacos for the low price of $15. For another $4 you order it fully loaded which is a steal (guac, pickled onions, lettuce, giardano, crema, and another lovely sauce). Each of the tacos were really delicious and packed full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the cauliflower and the beef. Was surprised how much I liked the popcorn chicken - still juicy and not greasy in the least. Andrew treated us to a round of the hatch green chili. I was delighted because it was a dish I wanted to try. He described it perfectly: a little kick, but you can't stop eating it. He was right. A bowl of this in the winter with their cornbread (which I'm confident will be delicious) will preempt a winter cold. The sauces on the table are not to be ignored either. The green chili sauce was fruity with a little heat, the scorpion chili brings the heat, but their homemade chili oil is phenomenal. I could put this on everything. In short, the Cantina delivers. Excellent food, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fun staff, and a cool vibe. I'll bet the cocktails will also be good. Definitely adding to the regular rotation!
